Anyone else experiencing gliches?

Yeah, I was wondering if anyone else was experiences unintentional gliches in Vice City. I suppose I've racked up about 30-35 hours, and beat the game, and now I'm getting a ton of gliches. I mean, I'd be driving on my PCG 600 and all of a sudden it say loading and just freeze up. The same thing happened to my helicopter, and since this has just started happening, I feel this is no coincidence. I was even driving along and suddenly fell through the ground. o_O There were also a few more instances, and I want to know...

Is this happening to others of you who have been playing this game for a while?

After the first week my brothers ps2 stopped reading his copy so he took it back to the store and it ran fine on theirs. So we tried it on mine and it ran perfectly on it too. So he's been borrowing my ps2 for the last 3 weeks and I'm slowly going insane from lack of gaming.

But before his system stopped reading gta:vc it was doing the same things. You'd fall through the road when driving, once in awhile when you started to get in a car it'd restart the game, when walking youd start losing armor and health, occasionally the sound would go out.

Hmm, well, thanks. I sure hope it's not the PlayStation 2 because that would be very frustrating. Of course, it's working fine on our friend's PS2, but since then we havn't bothered to use our own. (We as in me and my brother. We share a PS2, lol)

Ah yes, this happened to my GTAIII. After playing it for an hour or so (from when I turned the PS2 on) the sound effects went and I got really frustrated. Soon my PS2 would not even read GTAIII and other games. The problem was actually my PS2. I gots a new one now and it works perfectly well, so, yeah the problem could most likely be your PS2, sorry. :(

Well, it happens so often, lol.

Umm, Cojones, you should take it back for scratch repair, as NeoC has said. But, you could also take it back to the shop you bought it from and tell them the problem. See if they'll give you a refund or tell you what to do.

Yeah i probably will do that, but Rockstar should definetely do something about this as it's not much good having one of the best games under your name if it doesn't even work! I had finished it, but there is so much you can do and i can't be bothered to start it all again with Christmas and birthday round the corner I will get new games hopefully without GLITCHES!

Well hey now, remember the game is HUGE. And taking million of peopl to respawn isnt like a walk in the breeze. I've had a weird glitch as for some reason, I pass a bridge that leads to 'Starfish Island' and there are cars that are stuck in the road but when I try to hit them, they disappear. Its happened twice but its weird. Also I've found that the helicopter keeps disappearing in the Hyman Condo for some reason. Its a good game but maybe put a population limit, which would make the game even more fun MWAHA! Cojones, you can easily get a 'Disk Resurfacer' from HMV. I'll look into that for you.

For some reason, in 'The Driver', if I stop my car and put in the Destroy All Cars code, and complete the checkpoints, it says Hilary has died, and when it fades to black, if freezes like that. >>

It would be okay if I could just complete the mission. Can ANYONE help me with that?

Well, really...there is are no excuses for these glitches. And both Sony and Rockstar are to blame.

The PS2's laser is extremely low quality. This is why people often have trouble playing DVD movies after a while. It's also why some games start to freeze or take longer to be recognized by the PS2.

It's also an issue of Rockstar North rushing this game and not doing enough testing. Falling through the road and such are not the fault of the PS2 -- they are game-specific glitches. They are merely the result of shoddy programming and a lack of thorough software testing.

And this is the core of the problem; you never know if it's your PS2 or your game. I sense that some are getting new PS2s (or even buying entirely new ones) even when it's actually the game's fault.

So, yeah. Let's hope Rockstar North puts a bit more effort into GTA 4.

Oh and...use cheats with great caution. Cheats are even less software tested. And thus, they will often screw up the game in certain circumstances.

I think if you make cheats for a game the company should make perfectly sure that it will not lead to technical flaws! I mean sure it warns you when your saving on Vice City that cheats could course problems, but say if you couldn't do a mission so you decided to use cheats you're just expected not to save. It's alright if just have an experimental go on Vice City, but that's not usually how it is. Some also ruin the game either crashing so you can't load data (happened to me on both GTA 3 and Vice City), or some cheats just stay installed on to the game if you save (all the pedestrian ones which I found out the hard way on GTA 3 when I had crazy pedestrians roaming around killing me and each other while trying to do missions  ). Rockstar need to do something about this!!!

Crashing is extremely annoying especially when you don't save very often lol. Well about the mission that would definetely have to be my hardest (The Driver) and well really I don't have any advice for you. It's just luck really if your talented enough to get in the lead and stay there. I mean you can take the police cheat off, but that doesn't help alot as sometimes they help you out.

Good luck ... Grant :demon:

Theres Glitches with the Dodo Cheat as well, If you activate it then get into a Helicopter the game freezes, I don't know if it does this with the Planes.
Another Glitch I've seen, it when I go over the bridge near the Mailbu Night Club, the road disapears and all I can see is water where the road should be.

I have a feeling that some gliches (note: some) are the fault of perhaps some of the codes. I mean, when you put in a code, it always warns you when you go to save. Supposedly, it takes away from your hidden packages or something, but it may be doing more. That's mainly the reason why I don't save with codes, heh, but I'm just warning all of you who do. You never know...
