Forgive me if a thread like this exists, but I made sure there wasn't one to start of with.

School holidays for me are coming pretty fast. I've only got 4 days of school left then two months of holidays, then the start of year 11. This threads basically to see what people are going to be doing during their break.

So far, I know I'm going to NSW(state in Australia) to where I was born(Woolongong) and cities around there to visit friends, relatives, and just to go sight seeing. I might be doing other things as well, but I haven't decided yet of what I'm going to do.

So if your going to be doing things these holidays, just post them here, and people can talk about past experiences there or something like that.

[dramatization]
I believe the American holiday of Thanksgiving is a celebration of persecution and a sign of the coming hardships my people (the native americans) would be facing for years to come.
[/dramatization]

Seriously, I'm going to visit my aunt for Thanksgiving this year (I really do celebrate the holiday, but not for the history). She only lives about an hour away, so it's not like a real vacation. Then I'm going to celebrate Christmas at home and there's a very small, unlikely chance I'll go to Lake Tahoe this winter. I don't have a job and I don't start school until late January, so I'm not really taking a break from anything. Most of my holidays will just be me sleeping and eating and making a New Years resolution I'm going to eventually break.

We are going down to NSW for the first week of the holidays or so, then I'm going up north to near Bundaberg for the rest of the holidays were I will proceed to listen to lots of loud music, spend a ridiculous amount of time at the BMX track doing very stupid stunts while finding heaps of ways of mixing coke, V, burn and assorted other things while I'm bored including starring at people from "THE LEDGE!!!" with some friends... Then hopefully I will get down to Brizzie and then back to were I live for a two day LAN game.

I was wondering when this thread would come up... ^.^

Me, I'm going to the coast with two friends on the 30th, so...next Saturday. I come back on the 4/5th of December, then on the 7th, I go to New Zealand, till the 21st. From there I think (or hope, take your pick), I'm staying home for the rest of the holidays. Obviously I won't be on Otaku much once holidays start, until after Christmas...

You are going to NEW ZEALAND! You are so lucky. Some of my rellies want to go there for a huneymoon.
All I get to do these holidays is go to the Gold Coast for a few days then sit around the house watching the ours turn into days, the days into weeks. The only party I get is in January with a combined 2 birthdays and new years party. But this is in Marybourgh, so it doesn't count for much.

Yeah, I am going to New Zealand. It's really nice there; I go every two years or so, and spend it with my family. It's great during christmas, becuase everyone comes to my grandparents houses, and there are about 20 - 30 of us, so there are tons of presents under the Christmas tree...and they're within walking distance of two beaches... bliss. ^.^

If you're going to New Zealand this Christmas, you'll probably might meet some stars from LOTR down there because of the grand opening thing.

Anyway, I haven't been to New Zealand myself, but my dad has. He said it wasn't too bad down there, but it was always foggy. I've got a question for you Rae. Are there that many sheep down there?

-.- Of course, you had to ask that, didn't you? Yeah, there are. Or there were last time I was there.

As for meeting stars of LOTR, I highly doubt they'd come to Makatu, Te Puke, which is at the bottom of the North Island. However, if I happen to meet them on some off chance, I will, of course, give you photos. *snort*

Hmm...It's not foggy where I'm going...did your dad happen to go during winter, pray tell? ^.^"

Hmm, I can't remember when he went, except it was during school time last year, so maybe it was during winter. I recall him saying the food where he was, was quite good. Especially the hot chips.

By the way, what's with all this snorting at me?

I snort a lot. I'm not sure why, but I do.

Most food in NZ is good. And cheap. i remember getting a two scoop icecream for a dollar fiddy. ($1.50) But maybe that's changed? So, anyway, that's my holiday. I think Mum was thinking about sending me down to my Grandma (in Tamworth) after Christmas, but I usually like to spend some time at home.

Well, as far as I know, I'm doing...nothing for Christmas. We were going to go see my Grandad in Busselton, but he's coming down here on his birthday, so we'll see him then. After Christmas is the worst. I have norhing to do, and it's January, so it's HOT. But anyway, that's my Christmas holidays.

:( Well for me the holidays aren't really that special or joyful. I live alone and don't have any family to visit. So for thanks giving I usually just stay home and cook my own food, or go out to a resturant to eat. As for Christmas I don't even bother staying home since there isn't really a purpose to be home alone on a holiday. :bawl:

I'm probably going to stay at home this year. my family might do some family-ish stuff like going to the movies, go out buying presents, etc. I might do some stuff with a couple of my friends over vacation, so that's pretty cool. then on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, our marching band's gonna be bagging groceries for money to go on our Disney Trip in February. I hope I can get some odd job over Christmas break, cuz I have no money to buy presents with whatsoever. but it's all gonna be cool:cool:.

It sure is. ^_^

I dunno where I'll be spending my holidays, but I know I'll be heading down south to Queenstown for a week or so after christmas, for New Years. We have some family from the States coming over. It'll be good to see them again.

I should also be there for the opening of the Two Towers... Maybe I'll see some of the stars. oO;

Heh.

It's kind of weird, my family always goes over to my grandparents farm...I mean, every year, bar none. But this year, we're going up north. So, it's just....weird. Ya.

Well, I guess we'll just have the usual routine this Christmas. We always have lunch with my dad's side (my grandparents). And we have dinner with my mother's side (pretty much most of her family).

But my grandfather died only a few weeks ago. So it'll just be lunch with my grandmother this Christmas...
