Jinzouningen17
Yep, thats right. There's gonna be a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comin out in February of 2003. Go to http://www.ninjaturtles.com/html/sneakpeek.html to get all of the details. Anyway, the show looks like its gonna be hot(atleast the animation anyway). They say the first season is only going to be 26 episodes, but if the show turns out to be a hit, there will definetly be more. Only one problem....THIS THING IS GONNA BE ON THE FRIGGEN FOX BOX! Which we all know gets the lowest ratings on Television today. :( Oh well, this'll probably help boost Fox's ratings, but I personally think they should air it on Toonami if they expect to get good ratings. I mean, thats just my opinion. Oh well, hopefully they'll air it about the time Pokemon comes on, that way I have somethin to watch on Saturday mornings between 10:00am and 10:30am instead of channel surfing in between Ozzy N Drix and Mucha Lucha. ^_^ Also, isnt it odd how Dr. Baxter got a bit taller, a new hair cut, and got himself one HELL of a tan since the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. lol Plus, is it me or does April look too thugged out to be a news reporter now. :D Anyway, what are your thoughts on the new TMNT series coming soon. Do you think it'll be as good as the original, will it flop, or what. Whats your views on this.
G/S/B Master
Well,I know that I'm not watching it....April is like.....thugged up. I expect this to be worst than the one in 1997-1998 lol.Thats when Fox Kids and UPN airs BeetleBorgs lol.I wonder if they will have the same voices though.I doubt that they would have the same voices lol. AT least they made Shredder look good.
Manic Webb
I heard about the new Ninja turtles series a while back. I heard this show is going to start all over from the beginning and re-create the Ninja Turtles (some parts will be the same, but some parts of the show will be completely different). That's just what I heard, though. I wouldn't say April looks "thuggish" but she does look a little too casual to be a news reporter in those street clothes. Let's just hope those are her "after hours" clothes. I'm going to watch it. I was a huge Ninja Turtles fan back when the old cartoon was on the air, and I can't wait to see an up-to-date version of the show. Hopefully they aren't still saying "cowabunga." That's just not cool anymore. --EDIT-- Well look at that. If you look around the website, it says that April won't even start the series out as a reporter. How about that for a new twist? TheDarkOtaku
I love the Ninja Turtles, but Fox having them on their network may not be such a good idea. Fox is known for having mindless, disdainly shows. I can only hope they don't trash this up. :(
PiroMunkie
Eh, it looks like it will be a bit of a flop. It might start off okay, because it is new, and hardcore Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans will surely catch it. Most people will probably be turned off by it, or just not even care to watch it. Everything is getting a bit modernized, which is okay in some cases, but not in others. The Foot Soldiers actually appear somewhat threatening for once, lol. The turtles look a bit demented, though. Given they are mutants, but they are all quite civil... to an extent. You never really know with Mikey. o_O I think the best spinoffs of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were the live action movies. I still have those, lol. They seemed to characterize everything really nicely.
Semjaza
I'd like to see what direction this takes... Whether it's going to follow the guidelines of the cartoon, or stick with the more gritty (and substantially more violent) comics. They were both pretty different. In the comics, I believe one of the turlles actually lost an arm, and had a mechanical one added in its place. I'd probably watch this once or twice to see how it turned out. TMNT was like my favorite cartoon 10 years ago. They better put a hockey mask on Casey too haha.
Shinobi
LMAO! This is sooo freaky! Me and my firneds were just laughing about how we remebered this, and how we were big fans! This is plain freaky! But i probably won't wotch it, as i dont have Fox Kids, you need Sky Digital for that over here. PS - See in america it was called Teenage Mutant HERO Turtles, correct? Well, when my friend was over to Florida, when he was a small chap, he noticed that.
Omar Harris
THe TMNT were my favorite heroes growing up. I was obsessed with them as a kid. However, Fox screwed up the series when they produced Ninja Turtles the Next Mutation. I loved the idea of a female turtle, Venus, and the Dragons, but the show was too tame for a Turtle series and had some bad storylines. From what I hear, this new cartoon will take the Turtles back to square one. Hopefully it will revive the Turtles long dead career. I just wish Venus was in this series. I think she deserves a little respect outside of that horrible spin-off show.

Omar Harris
I think he got it backwards. In America it was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as a spoof of X-Men and the ninjas in Daredevil. I think in other countries it was Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles. I think there were problems with Ninja being in the name but I'm not exactly sure. James
A decade ago, I was this show's biggest Aussie fan! ^_^;; I used to watch it every day...and buy video after video. Even the movies (as dumb as they were), received repeated watchings by me. ^_^ As for the new one...the characters look awesome! April looks modern with her "street wear". Though I guess if she's still a reporter, she'll wear different clothes occasionally. And Shredder finally looks menacing. He didn't look scary enough in the original I thought (which is why I adored him in the first TMNT movie especially -- he looked so nasty and evil). If the story is as good as the visuals so far...then I might watch. Of course, I'll have to actually see the animation and hear the voices before I can fully decide. But it looks promising. :)
Devidramon
I'll definitely watch. I loved the old cartoon, and Next Mutation wasn't that bad. I loved the miniseries with the vampire chick. If April's not going to be a reporter, then maybe the street clothes are okay. Of course, if she's not a reporter, what's her role in the story going to be? I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
Manic Webb
The site says April starts off as Baxter's lab assisstant and (rather quickly) gets another job. My guess is that she plays the exact same role she's always played, only without Erma and a camera behind her. Again, the site says she doesn't start as a reporter, so there's no clue where her career goes to. From what I read, the Turtles will be battling organized crime (instead of maniacal brain and his band of mutants) in the new series. A wealthy Japanese businessman named Saki secretly moonlights as The Shredder, the leader of the ruthless gang called The Foot. The Foot will be a well-organized circuit, ranging from dangerous ninjas (real people, not robots) to shady businessmen. I like the new direction it's taking. I think the series would be great if it were showing anywhere else but FoxBox.
JCBaggee
That's nothing... http://countingdown.com/movies/tmnt According to this, John Wuu is attached to a brand new CGI Turtles movie...a friend of mine says he read somewhere that Wuu is aiming for an "R" rating. There's pics on this site. --J.C.
Schrat
I heard about that movie awile ago, doubt it will ever happen..but seeing John Woo do it would be great. As for the show, I loved turtles, always have, but i dont know, I cant see kids of today, kids of Yu-gi-oh and Pokemon(I dont know what are kids into today) getting into it on sat. Mournings. Now give it a spot on Toonami, then it would be a hit...
Manic Webb
Well, if kids can watch X-Men Evolution on a Saturday Morning, then this show might have a chance for a second season. I heard about the new Turtles movie. I think it'd be kool if it's actually made...
Omar Harris
This may sound like I'm being a bit anal, but does anyone know if the Turtles will have different colors again or will they all have red mask like the comic. April was Baxter Stockman's assistant in the original comic book, before he unleashed the Mousers and later became a fly. So this sounds like its more faithful to the original concept. I wonder if we'll see the fly Baxter? And I just realized Saki is Horoku Saki. The world's former biggest Turtle fan and I forgot a piece of trivia like that. Man I'm slipping. SithLadyofMetal
Well, if I had Sky, I would definitely watch this show. Looks like they're going back to the comics and the original cartoon. In the comic, April is Baxter's assistant and Baxter himself is African-American. For some reason, when the cartoon came out, they decided to make him white. The main villain is the same person, Oroku Saki (The Shredder). Only, he's a so-called "business man". It's just that he and his minions are a tad more 'refined'. So, basically, it's the same as the original only with minor differences. And, I saw that site. I wonder if all of it will really be made CGI, should they decide to make it. Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
Originally posted by Shinobi PS - See in america it was called Teenage Mutant HERO Turtles, correct?
I know someone probably already touched on this subject but if not, Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles was the name given to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in other countries one of them was Japan. In America it's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles As for this new show, being a really big fan of the TMNT I still have every figure and toy that came out from them V_V....I'm greatly looking forward to this show. I really hope they don't change too much of the show. Though being the fact it's going to be on that stupid Fox Box that's already good enough signs that it was really crappy since WB Kids didn't pick it up. I'll just hope for the best and maybe if the show is good I'll bring out my figures for display in my apartment again. ^_^hehehe I'm such a nerd....

TheShinje
Man! I'm really pumped for this show, i was like, New Zealands biggest turtle fan when turtles were the bomb so to speak. The cgi movie looks incredible, and, although they have given shredder a wicked new look, the absence of maniacal villains like Kraing (sp?) may let the show down a little, let's see what happens. Anyhow, I'm definately seeing this one
Charles
I was the biggest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle mark back in the day. I remember having collected every single action figure and play set up to a certain point. They were awfully cheap though. If I dug up the Tecnodrome, I'm willing to be that I still couldn't get it to snap together properly. Plus, I always had problems keeping that brain inside his body. Wasn't he called Master Brain? The driller, sewer play set, and flying car were all neat, but still looked infinitely better on the packaging. After the marketing got a little crazy, I just gave up on collecting the toys. I was only a kid, so I couldn't really afford to buy the myriad of ridiculous incarnations of the TMNT. I believe that Power Rangers and TMNT are similar to that extent. The franchise ended up branching off in ridiculous directions, leaving behind what made it so special in the first place. Turtles in Space? C'mon, who would buy an idea like that? I probably won't watch the new cartoon, because I'm too old for that stuff, lol. I like to move forward, not backward. It doesn't look bad though. The concept it timeless. Kids still love martial arts and slimy reptiles, so the show should do well. The slang might need to be updated though. Phrases like "Cowabunga dude," are really outdated. I'll probably be watchin cartoons until the day I die though. So I'll definetly check out the new TMNT, hopefully it'll be as good as the final 2 seasons of TMNT(the ones that came on CBS. I forgot what the name of the sagas were, but it was the seasons where the sky was blood red. They showed a good bit of new characters in there to. Mainly guys from TMNT 3 for Nintendo like that bull, Dregg, Mung, and a few other guys. Plus Krang, Shredder, and the gang was locked up in Dimension X, but was able to come out for a brief time to help Dregg. I'll never forget that they showed the final 4 episodes as a Saturday night special{2 episodes one week and the final 2 episodes the following week} on CBS back in 1996. Those 2 specials was awesome in my opinion. :D)
Solo Tremaine
I hope we see the Triceratops guys again. I loved them. I could have had a figure of the commander, but nooo. I had to go for the metal one that Donatello built. *Sigh*. I still have him. He's silly. The one thing I would have died for (and still would today, possibly) was the Blimp. I wanted that so badly. But never mind. I got a little helicopter intstead. It had a winch! The only episodes I can remember a great deal about were the ones where Donatello lost his memory after getting hit on the head, and the one where Splinter was caught in limbo after... something happened. I think it was something to do with a alien spacecraft in the junkyard. Anyway... I think I've grown out of this series now. I saw the first movie and I have to say it scared me quite a bit. I loved Splinter, though. The live action series reminded me too much of Power Rangers for my liking, and the inclusion of a female turtle (not that I'm complaining) made it seem too much like they were trying too hard to be PC, which I didn't like so much. Terrapins are much better, anyway. Maybe they could redesign them a little, to make them look more flashy. The roundedness of the others makes them look strange. Turtles have beaks. That would be interesting to see...
Mr Roboto
I totally cant wait to see this great new series. I know its just going to be great. I love every aspect of turtles except that dreaded next mutation. COWABUNGA!!!
