As Enialis passed under the gates of Dun Olvar, he pulled the hood of his cloak further over his head, to help conceal his drow lineage. He always felt uncomfortable in small settlements, so this metropolis of the continent was like a second hell to him. He carefully studied each faced he paced, looking for signs of racial recognition. The look of shock and fear as they realised what he was. But, no one noticed. He thought the Clan Elder was insane when he instructed him to travel to the capital. Apparently the apocalypse was coming and he was to be a part of the group stopping it. He made his way to the High Temple of Heironius (Basicall God in D&D Deities) He spoke the password and was directed to the High Priest.

High Priest: Ah, Enialis is it? Join me for a drink. The others should be arriving shortly

"Jarven, is it?" asked the preist

Jarven nods back silently.

"Yes, good to see you here." the preist said.

Drake looks around at the numerous materials. He then looks at his hand and the gold in it. He points to a suit of Chain Mail, then he points to a Long Sword. He looks back at the gold in his hand then points to a a pair of Short Swords. He hands Abdul the 185 gold leaving him 55 gold that he puts in a pouch. Drake puts on his equipment that all seem to fit him very well, he places the short swords in sheaths that ride along the side of his legs and he places the long sword in a sheath on his back. He draps his cloak over his back and ties the front of it. He opens the door of the shop and eases his way out. He notices many people carrying on with the normal hussle and bussle of everyday life. He looks left, then right and then heads down the street towards a large building. He stops infront of the building but doesn't enter, instead he leans agianst the tall, gloomy building. He watched as more people passed him by, some occasionally looking but none paying much attention to him.

Drake: I think I will wait here for some of the others to arrive.

With that, Drake crosses his arms and sets his focus down the street.

Her hands were burning, Rae decided, glaring at them. They were going to burn right off her wrists, like acid. But still she trudged on, mindful of her instructions to go to the High Temple of Heironius, apparently to save the world. What a laugh. The world as she knew it didn't need saving, it needed to be wiped out. However, until such time as someone decided to do that, she was saving the world from theives and murderers.

Well, actually, she wasn't. She was a thief, so it was more a situation of saving the world from great evil. Rae knocked on the door with her burnt hands, and it slid open a crack, to reveal a Priest. "Yes?" came the muttered question.

"I'm here to see the High Priest."

"You need a password."

Smiling, she muttered the password, and was let in. The place was dark, gloomy, and natural light seemed to be a commodity. The air was filled with inscense and purfumes, so intense it could make you faint, but, oddly enough, Rae's hands had stopped burning. It must have been the sunlight, she decided absently. She was led to a room with three occupants, one of which still had his hood up. Taking no notice of the High Priest, Raellyra seated herself against the corner, staring out to all occupants of the room.

"Welcome. We shall await the arrival of the others, then I can begin."

IC: Elsyan was walking around a small weapon store, looking at weapons and armor. She had already selected some plain leather armor, a polished black longbow, and a quiver of arrows when she stopped to admire some swords and rapiers. One rapier in particular, a silhouette rapier, caught her eye. She held it in her hand and was satisfied to find that its weight was well-balanced, light, and when it cut the air it had a nice hum to it. She took her items to the counter to purchase.

Store owner: That will be 106 gold coins.

Elsyan withdrew her pouch and laid her money one the counter. The man took it, counted it, recounted it, and eyed her suspiciously. That's no surprise since most people in this town are distrustful of Elves, Elsyan thought. While the man was recounting it for the third time, Elsyan put on the leather armor over her green dress, shouldered the bow and quiver, and fastened the rapier around her small waist. Satisfied, the man put the money in his own pouch and bid that she be on her way. Elsyan pulled the hood of her cloak over her face and departed from the store, heading towards the High Temple of Heironius.

Obviously too impatient, the High Priest of Heironius begins to speak.

Priest: Since the others are too lazy to be on time, we shall begin now and the others can get the information off you. As you all know, we are at a time of great unrest. The supernatural forces rule the lands outside of the Dun Empire. But never have we thought such a great catastrophe could happen in our fair city of Dun Olvar. The four known as the Horsemen of the Apocalypse have broken into the great Temple Vaults and have spirited away a priceless artifact, The Book of the Living. With this, the Apocalypse will be brought upon us much sooner than prophesised. And also with the power of that book, Asmodeus, the Lord of the Nine Hells, can use it against our Great Heironius to defeat him. We must have that book. Your task is to retrieve it from the Four and dispose of them. Their Stronghold in the Gan nation, on our eastern border, should hold the book. Travel there and retrieve it. Good Luck.

Enialis: Now that is a rather heavy reality to be put on a man so early in the morning . . .

Just entering the city of Dun Olvar, Aven gazed around at the marvels the city had to offer.

Aven: OW! << Looking around >> this is so different from Shimmer Sky.

Aven walked around the town for a few hours just looking around until he realized he needed to find the local tavern to seek company with traveling being so dangerous these days. After asking for directions Aven found it The Welcome Wench Tavern "while not the best of names he thought this is where the nice old man said I could find adventurers or just a merchant caravan." Aven walked into the tavern and order a there finest wine and best meal he would survey the tavern before asking around for adventurers.

Siren looked at the priest skeptically...

Siren: Why should we belive you?

The priest opened his mouth but Siren cut him off...

Siren: Better yet, why would we want to risk out lives for it? And why do you need me?

She leaned back aginst the wall and glanced around, noticing the general refusal of the company to meet her eyes... She raised an eyebrow and realised that she must be a sight in her battered black leather and mail... She raised an eyebrow then turned back to the priest

Siren: You got an awnser old man?

Drake looks around and noticing that noone else is comming shakes his head and gets off the wall. He turns to the door and pushes it open, entering the massive hall. He notices the group scattered about and the preist in the general front. Drake approaches the old man and gives a formal bow.

Drake: Good day to you sir, I am Sir Drake Lightbrand. I have been summoned here to take part in an adventure to thwart evil.

Priest: Ahh yes, Sir Lightbrand, good to meet you. Well, like I was telling your hopeful group members, you must go to the east and get the Book of the Living.

Drake looked around at the others and then looked back to the priest.

Drake: Well then, I will travel there.

He turns to the others.

Drake: And if any of you are willing to join me you can.

Drake walks over to a nearby wall and sits down agianst it.

The priest looks over slightly annoyed at Siren.

Priest: I do not have to back up my words. As the High Priest all that comes from my mouth is truth. If you don't believe then may you be damned.

The adventurers deciding to take this day to discuss their course of action, retire to a meeting chamber close to their rooms allocated by the High Priest. Enialis rises and removes his hood. Many shocked gasps are heard as his race is revealed. Ignoring the shock, Enialis speaks.

Enialis: As thou have all heard, a quest most noble has been placed before us. I . . .

Raquel: (Cutting him off) That should certainly exclude you, Drow

Rae: Quiet and let the man speak.

Enialis: I thank thee. I believe that as the task hath been placed before us, so should we take it. Some of us may not believe the Priest's story as credible (glances at Raquel) but as he hath said, the word of the High Priest is the truth. I shall leave at the break of dawn. All who wish to undertake this quest I bid you to join me at the stables before the sun arises. I bid thee good night.

Enialis retires to his room and leaves the others to discuss

She looked around, listening silently for a ew minutes more, then left just as silently. As she left, she passed a priest with an amused look on his face and a hand held out, palm up. Glaring at him, she returned the pilfered items, then walked away, stopping as he coughed.

"Oh, fine," she muttered, reutrning the quill pen from a pouch in her shirt.

She stepped away, and the priest led her to her room, a nice place. Silent, and calm. It was also the end room. No one would attack her here.

Elsyan: "Darn these people! How's someone supposed to get around with all these crowds?"

Elsyan kept to one side of the road to avoid getting lost in the many bustling crowds of people as they went towards their seperate destinations. She was starting to get very anxious. If she didn't reach the Temple soon, it might be too late by the time she did reach it.

Elsyan: (thinks) "That's it. Crowds or no crowds, I'm not waiting a moment longer!"

She dashed straight into the road, weaving her way through the crowd, and was almost to the Temple when her hood fell off and exposed her pointy-ears. She cursed to herself and pulled the hood back over her head, but it was too late. Everyone had seen them. They flashed her angry glances, and for a minute it looked as if there might be a riot had she not ran for the Temple before they had a time to think about it. She closed the door behind her and sighed deeply. Some people these days! She wondered when the discrimination in the world would end. Regaining her composure, she walked down the hall towards the door that stood at the end.

Drake looks around and stands back up. He looks to the priest

Drake: Well, I am ready for this quest. Perhaps it would be best if I retreated to the land of slumber as well. Sir, may I please be lead to my room?

Priest: Why yes good sir.

With that the priest leads the lad to his room.

Priest: This will be your room. I hope it suits your comforts.

Drake opens the room and looks into the room. With a satisfied grin he turns to the priest.

Drake: This is fine thank you. Good night sir.

Drake bows and then enters his room and closes the door behind him. He takes off his weapons and armor. He keeps one of the short swords near his bed as he walks to it. With a huge sigh he plops down on the bed and closes his eyes.

Drake: This will be one of the biggest tasks I have partaken in. I hope that it goes to my advantage...

OOC: Lol... You got my name wrong...

Without a word to the others, Siren turns and retreats up the stairs to the roof... There she sat in silence, thinking about the decision she was about to make? to go on this journey she would be traveling with the sworn enemy of her family? She smirked? No matter? As soon as he gave her an excuse, she would kill him? She drew her great sword and lay it across her knees? It had seen much blood, most of it Drow, Goblin, and Troll? She had killed more than her fair share of humans too, and now as she looked on the blade it seemed to be tinted red? She sighed and lay back, preferring to sleep under the stars than in the church? As she drifted into slumber, flashes of a massacre passing through her mind? Vivid memories of blood and death playing with her sanity? Her brother loomed up, his mouth opened in a silent scream as the drow arrow tore through his chest? Someone started screaming and the scene from that fateful morning echoed in her mind?

Serric: Just watch Sis! I?ll be the greatest hunter this village has ever seen!

Siren reached down and ruffled the eight summer old boys head?

Siren: I?m sure you will Seri?

She moved towards the door and pressed her ear against it listening to the conversation of the guard captain and her father?

Guard captain: Drow are being seen more and more on the hills now? One of my scouts was shot?

Father: We don?t have any proof that it is the drow? I?d prefer if no blood was shed?

GC: We can't just let them kill out people!

Father: I have no intention of letting them... I shall lead a peace party and come to an agreement...

Three days later

A piercing scream shatters the night and Siren rushes out, leaping into the fray of drow and human bodies, swinging the sword her fourteen-year-old body could barley handle? Blood flew and then in a break in the battle, she saw her father, headless and lying on the ground? His head had been mounted on a pole and it eyes bulged? She choked back a terrified sob and ran to it, hacking through friend and foe alike? Suddenly a drow stepped forward, pushing her brother before him?

Drow: This yours?

Siren: Leave my brother alone!

Serric whimpered and fell to his knees? The drow stepped back and smirked?

Drow: Come and get him then?

Serric: Help me Sis!! Please! It hurts so bad?

He began to sob and she took an involuntary step forward? A black arrow seemed to grow from his chest then and his eyes widened?

Siren: SERRIC!!! NO!!!!!!!!!

She rushed forward, heedless of the fighting around her? She scooped him up and brushed his hair away from his eyes, sobbing?

Siren: Please? Please Serric? Hang on you?ll be all right?

Serric looked up at her, his eyes already clouding?

Serric: I?m sorry? For *cough* being such a nuisance? I was the could have been the greatest hunter, couldn?t I Sis? Almost as good as father?

He coughed again and died there, in her arms? She cradled him in her arms, crying softly? She laid him down and stood, a cold rage burning in her heart? Her eyes resembled chips of golden ice, so frozen was her heart? She went into a calculated rage, slaughtering everything in her path? As the last drow dropped, her blade through his chest, and she dropped to her knees remembering no more? The darkness of the memory and the darkness of the sleep merged and Siren fell into a dreamless slumber?

As Elsyan was walking down the long hallway, she saw the High Priest walking towards her.

Priest: "You're late."

Elsyan: "I'm sorry, High Priest. I had a small problem with the crowds," she said as she bowed in respect.

Priest: smiles "That is quite alright. The streets usually do get fairly crowded at this time of the day. Now come with me and I will show you to your room. You can get aquainted with your companions for the Quest tomorrow at dawn. I will then explain once more what the Quest is about once everyone arrives."

Elsyan followed as he led her down another hall to his left, then to the second room on the right.

Priest: "This is your room. I expect to see you at dawn, prepared for the journey."

Elsyan: "Yes, High Priest. Thank you."

Samantha waited until the Priest left and then walked into the room. She took off her cloak and layed down on the bed to get some rest while she could before she embarked on this quest with her new companions.

[Day Two]

Enialis stood waiting with the High Priest for those who were to undertake the quest.

High Priest: So fare you?

Enialis: The one, Siren, I do not believe that she is too fond of me.

High Priest: Many years ago, the Drow destroyed her village and slaughtered her family. The malice she has for them, she bears for you also.

Enialis: Accursed to mine heritage. It doth follow me to depths of The Pit like a curse. What shalt I do, what say thee priest?

High Priest: Only time can heal wounds such as hers. Gain her trust and do nothing to give her an excuse to kill you.

Enialis: I shalt not do that. I would not like to kill her, and I would.

High Priest: Just keep your distance.

They waited the rest of the time in silence.

Sunlight filtered into Elsyan's window as she opened her eyes. It was dawn. She rose from her bed and got dressed, putting on her outfit and armor, and strapped on her weapons. She grabbed her cloak and put it on, and was about to pull the hood over her face when she stopped and thought better of it. Her new companions would find out that she was a High Elf sooner or later, so she might as well show them now. That would be better than to deceive them. She grabbed her pack and walked down the hall. She came to the main door and opened it to find the High Priest and a Drow standing there. She was taken aback to find him, a Drow, here. Her people had taught that all Drow were evil, murderous, callous and calamitous, so it was hard to imagine that one would be joining them to stop evil. She decided that he mustn't be all that bad. She smiled politely and stood against a wall, waiting for the rest of her companions to arrive.

Drake opens one of his eyes groogly. He sits up slightly and looks around. He rubs his head as he sits on the edge of his bed, stretches and yawns. He stood up, did a few stretches and grabbed his items. Once ready he opened the door and closed it behind him silently, making sure to try not to wake up others. He heads down stairs and notices that Elsyan is leaning agianst the wall and Enialis is talking to the priest. He goes towards the door and stands, ready for the new day to bring whatever it must his way.

OOC: sorry, ive been on vacation...

IC: Filtering out from behind a curtain, Drak'kon tapped Elsyan's shoulders. As she turned, she was surprised to see another drow in the building. "Hello," he stated, "Might you one of the group to vanquish the evil force?" "Yes, yes I am," she replied. "You might want to speak to Enialis over there, he can fill you in," with a gesture to the priest and the bac kof an unseen man, probably Enialis Drak'kon thought. Strutting towards the two figures, the priest gestures to him and Enialis turns around. "Another drow!" he exclaims, eyeing Drakkon. "Hail, Enialis, I too am surprised to see one of my kin here." "Im sorry, but who are you?" Enialis answers, puzzled that this figure knew his name. "I am Drakkon Do'Urden guardian of the mountain delve Shimmerdeep and son of Drizzt Do'Urden, savior drow of Icewind Dale, killer of Artemis Enteri the assasin, and finder of the Mythral Hall, and dragonsbane," Drak'kon states, bowing to Enialis. Looking towards the priest he says, "Do you have a room prepared for me? I have been hiding in that curtain since two suns past, thinking i had entered the wrong temple and was going to be killed if found..." the priest cut him off there, "No worries sir Drak'kon, your room is over there," he gestures to a door to the left of the hall, "I am glad you could make it." With that, Drak'kon went off to his room for a restful sleep.

After all had gathered at the stables to embark on their quest, they set of toward the dark lands of the Gan Empire. The High Priest saw them off, warning them to be ever vigilant. The Four were not the only evil that had arisen from the Nine Hells. The Agents of Chaos, Asmodeus' personal guard, had also been summoned to aid the Four.

During the journey Enialis stayed with his own company, either leading out the front or straying toward the back. The only other member of the group he talked to was Drak'kon, as he was a fellow Drow, he took special measures to keep away from Siren and the High Elf.

One day, weeks from their departure, they sighted the border between Dun and Gan, the two reigning empires. Gan was a desolate place, barren and practically deserted. The group reluctantly crossed the border into the lands inhabited mainly by the forces of evil . . .

Feeling that something was amiss, Drakkon consulted Enialis on the feeling. "I know, i can sense it too..." replied Enialis. "There is a column of smoke, I will check it out," said Drak'kon, weaving his way around, using every trees shadow to his advantage. Upon getting within veiwing range, Drakkon noticed a small band of namdic barbarians, most likely desert tundra raiders, around a small campfire. Reporting back to Enialis, Drakkon informed the others. "Bah, why should I believe the words of a drow!" spat Siren. She ran ahead, having to confirm it for herself. Minutes passed, and Siren had not returned. Suddenly a scream came from the distance. The party broke their horses into a gallop. Soon they were upon the raiders. Drakkon, spotting Siren near the back tied to a pole with an arrow in her shoulder and whip marks in her tunic. Pulling out his two scimitars, Drakkon charged the raiders, taking two heads and one leg before reaching Siren. Cutting her bonds, he lifted her on his horse and got into a defensive position. A raider lunged for him, but Enialis stopped it short with an arrow through the head. Standing beside Drakkon, he drew his Falchion and they defended Siren. Suddenly Siren jumped over their heads and slew the rest of the beasts, even the rest of the parties main combatants. "I had myself wel handled, drow," she spat at Drakkon. "Next time leave me be." With a shrug, Drakon turned to Enialis and asked him if we should search the camp for food or continue on their trek, for they were already behind.

Siren turned her back to the rest of the group, avoiding their eyes... She strode a few yards away, then slid down aginst the smooth trunk of a tree... Why did the drow have to go and do that... She snarled, realising she owed him a life debt... She pounded the ground in anger, then relaxed, realising that she had no choice... She sighed and stood, returning to the group... Her movements stiff and formal, she nodded to him then drew her dagger slicing it across her palm quickly... Her face remained passive as the blood dripped from her hand onto the earth...

Siren: I owe you a life debt... You may claim it whenever you so choose...

She tore a strip of cloth from her shirt and bandaged the cut before stalking away, not waiting for his reply
