-most challenging
-Gore / violence

I almost added ?Voice acting? as a category, since some games are made by the great voice-overs, like the GTA series, while some games are ruined by it, like Resident Evil: Code Veronica. Whatever dudes they found to do the voice over for the male characters in that game should be executed for sounded like such fruitcakes.

I am simply editing this post to add a "most challenging" category to rectify a thread merger I just performed. The Sony forum is becoming too cluttered with favorites topics.-Crazy White Boy

Hmm, I think this'd go better in one of the Gaming Otaku forums. The thing is, there isn't just a "general gaming" type of forum... Hmm...I guess I'll move this to the Nintendo forum, since people seem to post this type of thread in there occasionally. I guess if Rico thinks it should be in one of the other forums, he can move it there. I'm really not too sure about what to do with this thread, lol. :cross:

Gameplay: This is hard... Super Metroid or Metroid Prime come to mine.

Story: Persona 2, my favorite PSX RPG :).

Interaction: I guess Syndicate Wars on PC... You can destroy basically anything in the game heh.

A.I.: I'd say Halo I suppose. Not a fan of the game, but the alien AI is pretty good and random at times.

Graphics: I still think Silent Hill 2 looks amazing despite the lack of draw distance. 2D wise, probably Legend of Mana or Valkyrie Profile... Even GGX :).

Weapons: I've found the different beams and combos in Metroid Prime to be pretty damn cool... Otherwise, Earthbound because the weapons are so unusual.

Sound: ED comes to mind as a great overall game in terms of sound. Halo also made good use of actuall recordings put into a midi interface so that they could be played at random, which is something few other games seem to do right now. It's usually either redbook or midi of some sort in other games lol.

Length: Well the longest game I've ever played was Dragon Warrior 7... I still have yet to beat it. Longer isn't always better, and I think games that make better use of the time you get with them tend to be better overall games.

Creativity: I'd go with Frequency of Gitaroo Man. I love music games, and these finally did something great hat wasn't a ripoff of some Bemani/DDR game.

Gore: Don't care about gore really... Some of the best is in the more recent RE games though.

Voice acting :P: ED or MGS2. Valkyrie Profile in close 3rd.

O.K.

I can't give answers for all because questions like these take time. But I will try, plus, I like this being in the sony room.

Gameplay- I would say, that I dont know. Off the top of my head its a mario game. maybe m64 since I havent played the gamecube version.

Story- minus the chacobo racing crap. I like ff7/ res. evil.

Interaction w/ enviroment- metal gear solid. (since I havent played two)

A.I.- socom:navy seals. those dirty terrorist bastards are rough bitches flat out. (only in higher difficulty levels)

Graphics- almost impossible to say. Too many styles, from cel shading to realistic, they are all a thing of personal taste.

Weapon/ Vehicles- well thats a bad question. Vehicles goes to gta 3 vice/ ace combat 4. Then weapons goes to one of the first person shooters like bond on the 64.

Sound- couldnt say, I just dont pay attention to that element too much. Except the res. evil series they get it for the creepy factor.

Length- my say is... well no, I have no fav.
If I can beat it, its too short, if not, its too hard or long.

Creativity- I would say gta but its not original, gta is just an idea of what someone would or could do in an immoral society.

So creativity goes to the makers of... oh I shouldnt say, Im not a hard enough gamer to make such an important call.

Gore/violence- thats like asking what game has the most individual feel. Its almost impossible because its really about how the individual deaths affect a person.

Anything with blatent decapitations or obvious inerds is on the violent side. My person, off the top of the head, resident evil, any of them. Nothing worse than zombies tearing you apart.

I also want to mention that if I was to do this same thread I would have broken it down on game subject.
Fighting, FPS, roleplay, flight, adventure, etc...

not on game play and what not, because each different genre is supposed to play different. So its hard to judge on the same level.

Well usually these types of threads aren't allowed but seeing as 3 people of authority have posted, I guess it's not hurting anything.

-Gameplay Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty - It's simply the greatest game available for the ps2 to date. Slinking around, holding people up. It has the best gameplay in any game I have ever played.

-Story Megaman, I am talking about every game here. Not just one, the overall plot line is pretty awesome. While it's not revoloutionary, it suits me fine. :)

-Interaction w/ environmentRed Faction, Blow up walls.....enough said.

-A.I. SOCOM: Navy Seals, ick I shoot and shoot and shoot. They just won't die. :p

-Graphics Mortal Kombat 5: Deadly Alliance

-Weapons / Vehicles Halo, one man drives and the other mans the turret. Can't get much cooler than that.

-Sound (music / effects) GTA Vice City, there are like 10 differen't radio stations.

-Size / length Eh, whatever

-Creativity / DesignPikmin, possibly the first truely inovative game in a long while.

-Gore / violence GTA Vice City and MK Deadly Alliance

-Gameplay: FF9
-Story: FF9
-Interaction w/ environment: Golden Eye 007
-A.I.: Syphon Filter
-Graphics: FF9
-Weapons/Vehicles: I'm stuck between FF7/9, Golden Eye 007, and Syphon Filter. Gotta love chocobos and airships, and all of the weapons in FF7/9. But I also like remote mines and all the other exposives in Golden Eye. I think the only weapon I really like in Syphon Filter is the air taser (I love holding the button down until they catch on fire. That looks cool)
-Sound (music/effects): I don't really pay attention to sound
-Size/length: I guess FF9
-Creativity/Design: I can't think of anything at the time
-Gore/violence: Resident Evil: Survivor (that's the only Resident Evil game I've played)

Gameplay
Armoured Core 2 was great. Zone of Enders was smoother, though.

Story
I liked the Armoured Core 2 Story as well, but I'm going to have to say Final Fantasy Seven, for obvious reasons.

Interaction w/ environment
Red Faction! Geo-Mod owns you.

A.I.
Metal Gear Solid 2.

Graphics
I don't like the game, but Final Fantasy X had brilliant graphics. So did Resident Evil: Code Veronica X (to many X'es..).

Weapons/Vehicles
Vice City, just because of the Hunter.

Sound (Music/Effects)
Tough. Legend of Legaia, or maybe either of the Silent Hills... Those damn sirens.. *hides*

Size/Length
Vice City, because it's huge.

Creativity/Design
Timesplitters 2. Map making mode. Ownage.

Gore/Violence
Vice City. But on the other hand, State of Emergency...

Finally I have finished now what do you think of this chart. Do you think there should be any games added or disagree totally about some games being in there or as high in the charts as they may of been?

My opinion is that a GBA game shouldn't be as high as no. 4 (Advance Wars). It May be like the best of its abillity for the GBA, but I'm sure there are many better games! I have other opinions but I would like to here yours first.

Also what games do you have that is in the chart or are going to get?

I have all the games in the top 3 woohoo! :D Also I have SSB.M, Res Evil, Timesplitters 2 (GC), Luigi's Mansion, Splinter Cell, and WWE Smackdown 4. I do have Tony Hawks 3, but for PS2 and that came out in 2001.
I wouldn't mind buying with my money an X-Box game as I only got 2 games for it. Probably Jet Set Radio Future, Unreal Championship, Hitman 2 or Tony Hawks 4. Maybe I should wait for other games to come out, but why wait when you have enough dosh lol :P

Please tell me what you think!!!:demon:

Advance Wars is an amazing strategy game, and one would have to play it for quite a while to realize how great it is. It's still the only portable game that I got so into that I missed my train stop.

Otherwise... I don't know why Metroid Prime isn't on here at all. Unreal Tournament 2003 is nothing special, and shouldn't be that high. Luigi's Mansion is way too high, and Blinx shouldn't be on the chart whatsoever. Personally, I'd take of KH as well.

Is this a UK list or what? Some of the games aren't even this year... So I'd have to assume so heh. That would explain some of the games that are missing.

Well I was shopping as usual and thinking about the most challenging PS2 game I've played. This isnt a favourites topic at all, just the difficulty of some games are huge. I'd have to say one of the hardest games I've played has been The Two Towers, in some cases.
But I will not forget Grand Theft Auto III in some of its missions. I never play games on easy mode now as I dont see the point in playing on that mode basically. So what are your guys thoughts?
