Kenneth: So what are you, in particular, going to do during this battle?

Ananda: They *are* my people.. but I think i'm going to just watch.

Kenneth: Aye. As are my ShadowKillers. All of them are keeping watchful eyes on each of the ones sent summons to come to the Sanctum, including Isthanae.. This ought to be an interesting battle.

Several yells broke out, and Kenneth's vision suddenly went from his surrondings to the fire that was being used on the arrows. All he could feel was emotion from the fire, sorrow for being used to kill, glee for the chance to kill, content for the chance to burn longer, and confusion as to why it had to be used for destruction mainly. His vision flashed back to his surrondings and he stumbled backwards breifly...

Ananda: Kenneth!

She caught him and he steadied himself. She looked around. Pain. Agony. And she hated it. With a single growl, she arched her back and her spine rippled once more. She snarled and spread her wings. Kenneth watched, then did likewise.

Dragouret rose into the air with half Demon...

Hovering high over the mayhem below, they watche quietly.

Ananda: Bad moon tonight.

Kenneth: Bilouhou must be angry.

Ananda: ...no, it's just his bloodlust. And I would know...

Kenneth: .....it's dark.

Ananda: ....

Kenneth: Damn it. I forgot my Scythe..

He did his earlier trick, and his Scythe flew into his hand from below. He latched it onto his back, and he heard Isthanae's commanding yells all the way up to where he was.

Kenneth: Who do you think will win?

Ananda: I'd say my people, judging by sheer numbers and expierence in battle.

Kenneth: Mmmm... Yes.... Indeed.... Isthanae may be commander, but he is the same age as I am.

Various fires had broken out across the perimeter buildings of the city, soldiers running to put them out with water as fast as they could go, without getting shot by an arrow themselves...

She sighed with pleasure. The song of the wolves was growing stronger with every movement. Ananda listened intently. Lingh's voice was heard from afar....roaring aloud...strong and bright.

With every passing moment, their bloodlust served to fuel her happiness...

Kenneth watched her. Eyes glittering brightly, red. He smelled the air. Above the smoke and blood, he could smell something else. He looked at her again, and something clicked. Roses! Red roses... It was delicious, a heady scent...

Ananda slid her claws in and out of her hands, controling her urge to swoop down and join the hunt.

Kenneth: Do you always give off that scent?

Ananda: Only when very pleased...with something or someone. I don't usually notice it.

Kenneth: Smells good.

Ananda: Oh thanks....but I don't know why I do it.

Kenneth: Well its alot more refreshing than smoke. Heh.

Kenneth smelled the smoke and it seemed to calm him. Shaking his head twice, he felt a burning sensation coming from the birthmark that was on his back. His eyes were glowing red, unbeknowest to him, from the exposure to fire...

Isthanae raised his sword and brought it down swiftly, a squad of archers behind him sent arrows flying back over the wall. A trio of small catapults sent jars of burning pitch into the great unknown, squeals and cries of pain were heard. All around behind him houses were burning merrily while desperate people tried to put the fires out with spells and well water. People were already falling to the random hail of arrows and all around Isthanae could feel the brooding fear all around him.

His grip tightened on the sword in his hand. He ordered the archers to continue giving everything they had. He turned and faced the men behind him.

?You know what I?m going to do. Once the order is taken, run in and give them some of their own pain back. Square formations, shields high and ready. Open the gates!?

Two gatekeepers nodded and the rear gates opened steadily. All eyes were on them and ready, waiting. Isthanae lowered his sword and charged, facing the waiting Orcish swordsmen.

Time seemed to slow in the milliseconds before the two armies clashed, then it rapidly returned as the sounds of steel on steel echoed round. Isthanae rushed forward, colliding with the semi surprised Orcs, the two races mixed until every last human was separated from the rest, the gates had been securely locked and still half the army was safe inside.

Isthanae swung his blade round, ethereal energy consuming him as he ploughed through the Orcs, he felt darts hit his armour and bounce off pathetically. Silently he said a prayer of thanks for his father?s smithy work.

He dared a glance to see the rest of his men, sickening at the sight of only a quarter standing in a tight group, defending the gates.

He fought with every last bit of strength in him, and then he heard the howls. All movement on the field stopped. Isthanae shuddered and glanced up at the sky. Hate was coming?

Isthanae stabbed his blade through the Orc in front, not noticing that the cuts and slashes on him were healed almost as quickly as they were given. All the while he felt a strong warmth through him as he fought desperately for his city.

The two stared at eachother, floating high above the chaos and confusion below. Red against rose.... clashing, struggling for control.

Ananda sighed and clawed her hands.

Kenneth: What is it?

Ananda: They are coming.

Kenneth: Lingh himself?

Ananda: Yes, the whole tribe is loping through the fields...and their song is beautiful.

Kenneth: How large is it now?

Ananda: Divided into territories, but stil under Lingh's alpha?

Kenneth: Yeah.

Ananda: at least 100, all fully primed for battle.

Kenneth: Mmm. The ShadowKillers might get involved at this rate. They have a hungry for battle in their blood, sort of like your peoples. I should tell them to evacuate.

Around the city, various shadows dissapeared from veiw, some floating into the air, others racing across the ground. Kenneth was beginning to feel the battle calling him as well, his demon blood pumping through his veins...

The blood frenzy of her tribe was heavy behind her eyes....it started as a humming in her veins, that quickly escalated to a surging roar behind her ears. With every kill a wolf made, more and more of their bloodletting flowed into her mind.... Filled with the madness of the hunt, Ananda was sorely pressed to keep herself under control.

Kenneth: Stop.

Ananda: What?

Kenneth: You're grinding your teeth.

Ananda: ..was I?

Kenneth: This is a problem... Not only are your people here... But the evil we were summoned to fight is here... Is Lingh in league with the Orcs and Formons?.... I'm not going to kill any of your Tribe... But Isthanae needs helps with the Orcs....

Infront of Isthanae, the flow of Orcs into the city was steadily getting larger. Reports of a Tribe from the forest to the north had reached him as well- The combonation of both attackers was making repelling their foes almost impossible.

The Titan Scythe landed with a harsh noise infront of Isthanae, Kenneth flying down from above in his WingHorde half demon form. He skidded down on one leg, grabbing his Scythe, and cut an Orc clear in two. Shrill shrieks were heard across the city, and like ninjas, most of the ShadowKiller veterns were around Kenneth.

Kenneth: I bet you are somewhat satisfied in the fact that you didnt drive all of my clansmen away...

the Titan Scythe sang through the air, as Kenneth threw it deep into the horde, jumping upwards. He sailed through the air to his Scythe, and started his attack..

She roared aloud, and swooped down. Energy becoming louder than before. Lingh noticed her moving and howled out...she followed. The orcs would suffer.....for everything.

Wings moving quickly, she smiled and moved down, staff coming to life, just like her blood. She whipped her staff to the right and the left, moving like Lingh had taught her.

Lingh: You've joined the fray....

Ananda: Not all deserve death.

Lingh: Like...orcs.

Ananda: Shall we?

Kenneth: ........... Urgh.

His Titan Scythe was blazing through the air, sometimes cutting down two to three of the orcs. His clansmen were still in human form, striking like trained ninjas. All these years of missions had paid off...

But something was erupting within him. The battle, the smell of blood. All these things he was used to- But he felt a burning rage within his body starting to erupt out. He dropped to one knee, as the demon blood in him began to boil.. He began to yell viciously, and reared back... His head snapping foreward like he was going to vomit- But instead a wall of blue and red flames cascaded across the horde, destroying dozens of Orcs. Blood was dripping down Kenneth's mouth, and he felt extremely weak. His eyes were glowing red, and his Titan Scythe was on fire itself, ready to be used to massacre..

Several of his clansmen stepped infront of Kenneth, as his energy regened. Most of the orcs were totally suprised at what had just happened, and confused as to how Kenneth did it. He himself was also confused, but knew that it had something to do with what the oracle had told him about a spirit residing in him...

She screamed aloud....howling the deathsong once more...her voice harmonizing with Lingh's....and the two charged the orcs. Once single toss from Lingh sent orcs into the air....only to be cut in half by the bloodsword in Ananda's hands.

Lingh: Good hunting!

Ananda: ...the hell?!?

She checked herself and whipped around towards the flames rising......Kenneth was just beneath her, and she fell to earth. Quickly and quietly. He was leaning on his Scythe, breathing hard....and she immediatly landed next to him.

Ananda: ....A fire demon.

Kenneth: Huh...?

Ananda: Get up.

She hauled him to his feet by the shoulder and pressed her teeth into his neck, forming the Union of the Soul....letting him feed on her energy. Within moments, his former strength had returned, and Ananda let go. He was back....and she felt fine.

Kenneth: Thanks.. Man. That was strange.

ShadowKiller: Sir, the Orcs are pulling back I think. They werent Expecting Lingh to attacking them instead of the city. Either that, or they are regrouping for a larger seige...

Kenneth: We're ready for them. We've got City Guards, WingHorders, and Lingh's Tribe here. Our combined fighting styles alone could massacre any army.

Raven: The ShadowKillers alone could massacre any army... or so you said before...

Standing next to Ken was a young lady, around 16. She was dressed in all black like Kenneth was, armed with two daggers that were sharp as his scythe. Her hair covered her right eye, but from the other you could see that her eyes were black..

Kenneth: You finally got here. What took you, sis?

Raven: Usual paperwork for the Winghorde. But before we get into any casual conversation, I have to ask something- Why is it that wherever I go, you are always in some kind of sh*t?

Kenneth: Hey. This time it wasnt my fault.

Raven: Explain the fire coming out of your mouth thing.

Kenneth: The Oracle said I had an elemental spirit in me... so I guess that makes me the first Fire Demon in 3000 years...

Raven: Who's this?

She tilted her head towards Ananda, who was currently in the act of beheading two orcs at once. The named girl turned around and waved with one hand.

Ananda: Yo. The name's Ananda. Catch ya later.

And with that, she screamed aloud and leapt into the air, fending off several attacks at once.... Then bringing her arms around and letting loose with a dark air attack. Several orcs fell, others were transfixed by her unholy spell. Raven shook her head....she was worse than Kenneth.

Kenneth: Eheh, she's a friend of mine.

Raven: Seems like it.

Kenenth: Well, she's a sorceress....

Raven: Isnt that Lingh?

Kenneth: Yes. They are picking off the few stray orcs that have stayed behind...

Raven: Mmmmmm... I sense something different about you brother. You seem alot stronger, almost transcended beyond just a WingHorder.

Kenneth: I wouldnt know... I never kept track of how strong I was, just how efficent...

Raven: Haha. Ever the Reaper I see.

Kenneth: I detest that nickname, just because I use a Scythe, I get the nickname 'Reaper'...

Lingh roared aloud.....his howl shattering the ears of many....then everything was silent. Kenneth looked, and he saw a strange sight....Hundreds of the orcs were transfixed...frozen in time...

A huge male wolf walked onto the scene, treading easily....black against red...on his back was a female humanoid. Staff held horizontally over her lap. She held herself like a princess...and the wolf held himself like a king....moving easily over the carnage and death several feet beneath him.

Raven: So he finally appears.

Kenneth: He's lookin' good. For fathering her child.

Raven. Mm...she sounds like my kinda girl.

Kenneth: Where's Isthanae?

Raven: Pardon?

Kenneth: The head of the Guards- He was fighting right behind me a moment ago. The strangest thing about it, was that he had no wounds. Every other guard had wounds- But his skin was untouched it seemed. He must be pretty fast to dodge every hit.

Raven: What if he didnt have to dodge every hit, to not have horrid wounds mid battle?

Kenneth: What are you suggesting?

Raven: I wouldnt know, but something interesting is going on with everyone that was summoned here. Their souls are getting stronger, their auras largerer. Its quite interesting, but a little scary if you think about it hard enough.

Kenneth: so you think.. Isthanae's spirit is awakening?

Raven: Just like you, with the firebreathing act, a little at a time..

Kenneth: Perhaps you are right.. which makes me finding him a whole lot more important...

Lingh: ...at last. We have our revenge. Greetings, Captain Isthanae.

Ananda: ....

Isthanae: Thank you for coming Lord Lingh.

The wolf stopped in his stride and dipped his head to Isthanae....the female Dragouret spread her wings and landed next to Kenneth and Raven, who were watching rather incredulously. Ananda dragged Kenneth's ear down to her level.

Ananda: Lingh is angry.

Kenneth: With Isthanae?

Ananda: No...with ...oh nevermind, you'll see soon enough. He won't hold his temper for long.

Raven: Hey.

Ananda: *releases Kenneth* Pleasure.

Raven: Maybe he's mad at you.

Kenneth: For what? Killing orcs?

Raven: You do have alot of blood on your hands. You might have inadvertantly killed one of his friends.

Kenneth: Oh come on. He would have killed me by now if that was the fact. I think...

Raven: Ugh. The Winghorde needs to find more personell to fill the Clan Head postions...

Kenneth: Quiet. You're making me miss out on what Lingh is saying.

Raven: If you die, can I be clan head?

Kenneth kicked Raven silently, who just smiled to herself. He stuck his tongue out at her, and turned back, focusing into the conversation Lingh was in.

Lingh, Lord of Galeigh, turned his head away and howl barked a message to his people. Hundreds of wolves fled from every corner of the town and raced north again. Isthanae bowed to Lingh's back and turned around, facing the ruin of his city...

Ananda watched him walk back...and she looked to Lingh....he was furious, that was for sure. Tonight, the deer people would be hard pressed to avoid death.

Kenneth: What was that?

Ananda: Lingh will not take his revenge on Isthanae. Not now.

Raven: Why not?

Ananda: It is not time yet.

Kenneth: Heh, the Oracle would be rather displeased.

Ananda: Not only that....

Raven: What then?

Ananda: He can not slay one of the humans. Not for another thousand years....

Raven: How old is he?

The female Dragouret turned and looked at Raven soulfully....

"Ten thousand...and more."

Ananda: Sure. He was fun.

Raven: You're a slut.

Ananda: Judging by your smell, I'd say you're a whore.

Raven: That's about right...

The two chuckled and walked back to the city....whatever was left anyways.

Alastuin rose from her kneeling position infront of the altar and wiped the priest's blood off her hands onto his body. It lay across the bloodied stone altar, eviscerated and only partially there. Sister Derea stepped up behind Alastuin and put her hand on her shoulder, in a sign of friendship. Alastuin sheathed her 12 inch dagger and turned, wiping blood and tears from her eyes.

Sister: He was a good man, in my eyes. Please justify this, to ease my sadness?

Alastuin: I told him I had come to cleanse myself, in wake of the devastation of my life. He looked into my eyes and saw that I had ended the life of another that day, and asked me to repent and sacrifice my life to the Meah in service and in blood. I told him to **** off and stabbed him in the head. He was a friend of my father and his brother.

Sister Derea stared into Alastuin's eyes and smiled grimly. She saw something else in the woman's eyes. Sorcery. Her fear told her to serve the woman and leave.

Sister: This uncle of yours is the one who's life you have ended. Come, child, tell me of your grievances.

Alastuin: He raped me continually. My father liked to watch. I managed to stab my uncle in the back this mornong as he was drunk. My father found us, he was angry he had missed it... I knew...

Sister Derea: I cannot say I understand. I will leave you now.

The sister offered her blessing and rushed away. The priest's body lay untended on the stone altar. Alastuin stood, pulled her hood up and went to investigate the noise she heard outside.

The town, it appeared, had been the scene of a great battle. The slain bodies of humans, orcs, wolves and other creatures lay strewn over the streets and gutters. Most of the city was in flames. Subconsiously, Alastuin doused the flames with her tears. Rain thickened and fell to the fires, quenching the hungry flames within moments. Alastuin didn't notice. She walked among the dead, pulling water from the spilt blood and storing its essense in her own veins. The air stunk of death, decay, burnt flesh and hatred. Alastuin was elated at the carnage, and a small smile fell to her lips.
The only life seen was in the form of two women, strolling away from the massacre as if they were the cause. Alastuin followed. The screams of the sister emerging from the sanctum clawed at the air behind her.

The Dragouret's tail twitched and she whipped her head around, horns glistening with blood. Alaustin stopped short and stared......talk about abnormal. She walked up to them, there was no use hiding now. The female beast bowed low, wings dipping with her movements.

Ananda: Salut.

Alaustin: ....were you a part of this battle?

Ananda/Raven: Yes....

Raven: Is there some problem?

Ananda: ....I think not. Is there something wrong Alaustin?

Alaustin: ...where did you learn my name? I haven't told you that yet.

The female tapped a hefty claw to the side of her head and smiled. The humanoid girl looked deep into her eyes...it was like falling. Into wells of dusky roses....and in that moment, she paused. The way she stared was not safe.....
