Karina tryed to look him in the eye... but couldnt, she had embarassed herself so badly, but still she answered the questions.

Karina: I thought that this city wouldn't notice me Sir, so many strange people lived down there... And why did I leave? Come on you should know, it's so dam peaceful back home that I had to leave, or risk going crazy from the serenity! I left just so I could see chaos. I mean why was a trained to use a weapon if I'm never going to use it?

Karina shut up as soon as she finished, something she didnt do that often.

Valen: Well, here's you chance. There are demons crawling all over the world now... and I hope you are ready for what you are about to face.

Valen spread his wings once again and took off, sheathing his Isis Katana on the way up.

Valen: Just remember, I came here on a mission for once... If I can do this, I'll be promoted from just a gaurdian... so please, don't go getting into too much trouble... if that's not too much to ask...

He flew back towards the city, for he sensed something there... he couldn't tell what it was, but he followed it anyway.

Balthazar was in bad shape. Which is the normal thing to be in when you've just had a building fall on top of you. He could get no movement from his right arm and he could barely stand up. His crossbow looked beyond repair but his sword didn't bear a scratch.

What had happened, he thought. It was certainly wasn't a natural disaster. Before the blast he felt a massive wave of energy sweep the city. He could only sense that small pockets of life still existed in the ruins of New York.

With extreme difficulty he dragged himself out from beneath the rubble. He attempted to take flight out of the city but he found his wings had been badly wounded and made flight impossible. He was stranded in a vision of armageddon. This was what all the cities on Earth shall become.

His heart was torn. He was unable to determine whether he liked the future of Earth. He had rather begun to enjoy his existence again for the first time in thousands of years. But now everthing is to be destroyed. Well not while he was around. He was just one creature, but Balthazar was going to try to rescue Earth. He knew it was a lost cause, but it was the only way to redeem himself. He could do nothing but try . . .

Karina: Why are you going back?

Valen: Something's still there...

Karina: Yeah... a disaster!

Valen: I'm serious, I sensed something still alive back there and I want to find out what it is.

Karina: But this place is huge how do you plan on finding who or what is down there?

Valen: I have my ways...

Death Knight: ...

It was silent from where he was. The wind was blowing softly at this altitude.. Clouds rolling overhead. A flock of birds escaping the distruction flew overhead, breaking the silence with their chirps to each other.

Death Knight: ...

He descended slowly, down into a village now occupied by the demons, who were looting it. Some were looking for food, others for weapons, testing out guns, swords. Some were just lazying around, drinking Corona's. It was a mixed scene of celebration, and honor for the demons.

Death Knight: ... Dont get too rested. We have a long day tomorrow. This hasnt even begun to start...

The Demons took that to heed, but almost immediately went back to their various duties, making Death Knight shake his head. He walked into a house, and sat down on the stairs, just staring into space.

Death Knight: ... I want to go back to the waterfall...

Valen stopped by the pile of rubble where he had first came in at. He looked around at the quiet wasteland. All you could hear was the sound of the crackling fires and the occasional explosion of gas lines underground.

Valen: I hear something...

Karina: Hear what? I can't hear anything...

Valen: Sounded like a rocks moving...

Valen took off towards the source of the sound, Karina followed.

"Tell me Tarlain, what was it like growing up here? It must have been beautiful..." Celestine asks, laying down on her stomach, on top of the lush grass.

"What is there to say? Didn't I mention it was like Heaven on Earth?" Tarlain replies, smiling at the flowers.

Celestine sighs, as she glances around at the beauty of the utopia-like surroundings. It was beatuiful. No one could describe the majesty of Atenae... The books hadn't even begun to describe true nature's magnificance and beauty. It felt so peaceful here, unlike the rough, cold streets on San Francisco. This place had a charm to it, that allures you to relax; a power that could bring peace to any living being...

Celestine sighed, and sat up, rubbing her eyes. Tarlain was friendly, and she was her friend now. Celestine was glad she had someone she could actually trust right now. She knew little about the skeleton... or who he was. She felt confused, yet calm.

A loud hum registered in Death Knight's ears and his eyes narrowed. Her voice echoed dimly in his mind.

"No. You will suffer immesurably....and I will relish it."
~~~~~
The female Dragouret sighed....everything was becoming still...the moonlight playing about hers and Celestine's pale skin. She could almost believe that the end of the human's reign was close....but not enough.
"What are you thinking Celestine?"
"Nothing...it's just so peaceful here."
"Yes, it's heaven on earth...for a time."
"How long will this go without demons coming?"
"They won't bother with this place. It's deserted by all intelligent life, and the land makes them fear this place..."
I was weak... It always takes a lot out of me... I staggered down the streets of New York. I should have been out in less than an hour. I was going on three. My hand contiually drifted to one of the many black vials in my pocket. I didn't want to. They were rare. I needed to save them for when I really needed them.
On a brighter note, the siege of Mexico was going well. I felt it. A few more days and it would be controlled completely. A young man staggered out of a felled building and up to me.
Man- "Mister... Mister... My family... My girlfriend... They are in the building. Help them. Please..." I looked at him with narrowed eyes. He was full of sadness and pain. A good energy source.
Ryan- *Grunt* "I will do you one better my good man. I will take you to them." The mans eyes lit up. He looked to the building.
Man- "They are alive! I knew it! I knew-" I shoved my blade through his face. His body twitched and fell limp to the ash covered ground. I senced/saw his soul rise from his body. I held up one of my arms. The black sapphire of my gauntlet glinted and absorbed it. I felt energy wash through me. It wasn't much, but it would allow me to move faster. I straitened my posture and contiued walking.
Death Knight: ... to suffer is to be me...
With a swift motion, a portal was ripped open, and he stepped through, arriving at the waterfall. He jumped up and sat in the tree he had been in before, his red glowing eyes slowly turning black, as he went to sleep- Something he hadnt done for 534 years. As he slept, he began to dream...
---
Kenneth: How many did the dragon kill?
Skye: Too many to count..
Kenneth looked at her, and silently looked down to the floor. His hand reached to his sword at his side, and she shook her head in a pleading manner.
Skye: Dont go, brother. Even if you are a knight... you might die...
Kenneth: I have to, Skye. Its my duty...
---
Dragon: Do not tempt my flaming temper, child.
Kenneth: You slayed everyone in my village, old one. I have come for... REVENGE!
*slash*
Dragon: Haha. You are a fool.. You have just doomed yourself..
The blood was pouring all over him. He felt it seeping into his skin, his energy being drained.. he slowly passed out..
---
He slowly awoke from his sleep, and felt his core pulsating. It was at full mana again, thankfully. He slowly sat up, and stared down at the two ladies... His gaze reverted to the waterfall, where he had killed Skye... And he silently waved at the waterfall, wishing Skye was still alive..
"Do you know sorcery Celestine?"
"No...teach me."
"We'll start by using him as target practice. Try to calm yourself completely..."
Celestine sat down quietly, legs folded....and eyes closed. Several moments passed, and she sighed....peace. The Dragouret smiled.
"Lesson one. Illusions."
"What?"
"Envision this girl."
She tapped Celestine's forehead. Celestine nodded, she was lovely, quiet...and was perfect....
"Now focus on her...and release her image into the sky....with a portion of yourself."
Celestine's face screwed up with the effort, then she breathed and a perfect image of Skye was released into being....It rose from the lake and walked across the water, heading towards her once brother.....watchful, lovely....
The Dragouret smiled. Skye's blood was strong.
He knew it was an illusion, and he felt sadness come over him. He was so depressed, in so much pain, you could feel it in the air. He couldnt cry, but he felt his core beginning to bleed tears of blood out.
Death Knight: .... Dont do this .... .... .... ....
The blood hit the ground, and because of his sorrow, some of the grass limped a bit, but it didnt die this time for some reason. It just seemed depressed, from the mana that was with his blood.
Death Knight: ... ... ... Kill me Skye. I know only you can do it. But this is just an illusion... I'm being toyed with... Someone... Kill me....
Silently, Death Knight stared at Skye..
So...he did have feelings. Perhaps she would have to do it.....the hard way. She rose to her feet. And drew her blade and walked towards Skye. She raised her blade and Death Knight's eyes opened. She swung, and sliced through the illusion. It snapped and sparkled gently...falling to the ground in a million peices of light.
Immediatly, Celestine's eyes opened wide, and she fell backwards to the grass.....exhausted. Death Knight sighed....then looked up. The Dragouret was floating in front of him, eyes gently glowing, body rising and falling slightly. She trilled at him in her throat....and he leaned forward. That sound was familiar....
She trilled once more, and a thousand dreams flooded between the two of them. Tarlain closed her eyes and magicked the both of them to the ground.
"Do you truly desire death?"
"More than anything."
"Then prepare yourself. And we will do our part."
"What do you mean Tarlain? I'm only human."
She pointed with a clawed finger at Celestine's ears.
"You carry the blood of a white elf. As do I. When I am finished teaching you the Deepening Magic....we will end this once and for all."
The Death Knight looked at her, unbeleiving. Nobody could teach the Deepening Magic...except for maybe her....and he was willing to find out.
Celestine's eyes widened as she lay on the ground.
White elf?? How could that be possible? Had she actually created an illusion??
All seemed so confusing to her... She was exausted, and what Tarlain had said... seemed unbelieveable. She got up, and stood next to Tarlain, still confused on what she had ment, and what she was to do.
Whatever it was... it definately didn't sound very easy.
Death Knight: ... I dont think I can die ...
Celestine: Why is that?
Death Knight: I already died once... Thats why i'm like this... I dont have a soul... I have a core... which is a duplicate of my soul, lets me be who I was before... learn... etc... But I'm already dead... You cant kill what is already dead... Damn it all... Damn it all... ...
Death Knight silently stood up, and walked twards the waterfall, his armor disappearing, his sheath and sword falling to the ground. He walked into the water, instantly feeling pain, and dove in, sinking to the bottom, as the water rejected his unholyness, causing him total pain. He stared upwards, through the water, at the moon...
Ryan- "But you are already dead..." I scoweled. He was weakening. One more chance I would give him. One more and only one more... I could not afford to lose a trusted man... Action was required. I removed the stone and again dripped some of my blood on it. "Ki'Lin toch Mileihn..." A rip, much like the one Death Knight uses, appeared in the air. I stepped through. The rush was exilirating. I was reeling through space. Then my feet landed on the ground.
I stepped out to the strange alter. Not many knew of this place. I walked up to the table and layed down on it. I closed my eyes and let the dark power wash through me. I saw everything. I saw everyone. I saw everywhere... but one place. That was where Death Knight was. I knew where it was now... But could I enter it? Or did I want to?
I exited the strange place and contiued my journey. Soon I would contact Death Knight again...
Death Knight: .....................................
He appeared on the shore fully dressed, and he began to jog from the waterfall. No. Ryan knew where this was. No no no no. He hadnt just revealed the location of where the Dragourets secret land was to Ryan. He just wanted to be as near to his sister as he could be. It wasnt his fault.
.. Was it?
Not even talking to the girls, he jumped up, slashing a portal open, and disappearing into it...
He sat in the void. In the middle of nowhere. There was darkness all around him, and he silently pondered. He pondered and pondered, thinking, planning, wondering. Silently, he reappeared at the waterfall, completely silent.
Celestine: What was that all about? o.o
Death Knight: ...
He wouldnt say a word. Ryan wouldnt come here. This was a holy place. A place that hates evil.. He wouldnt come here... Right?..
... Right?
Right...
OOC: DAAAAAAAMN... i go to sleep and i miss all this? oh, well, better get myself into the story...
IC: Ficker.
Grim felt himself floating, completely calm a light, both black and white, hot and cold, deafening in it's silence, folated before him
Flicker.
Time...come...go...
Flicker.
"God.."
Flicker.
Go!
He felt himself being hurled away from the light, away from the sense of being, he screamed as his flesh was ripped back onto around his soul, the heavy weight of a mortal body reinserting itself. He cried in grief as he was dragged away from his salvation. Senses reemerged, sight, smell, touch...
He felt himself it the ground.
He turned over, pushing himself onto his hands. His coffin, his small armoury, lay on the floor next to him, a furrow marking it's entrance into this world. He looked around, taking stock of the area. A waterfall was near him, A human girl, a figure in armour, and a beast creature was there.
Surely they must be demons?
Surely.
He stood up, hs knees rejecting the new weight, and looked at them. He flicked the coffi lid open and pulled out Romulus and Remus, the sotguns, and aimed them at them.
"Demons...."
Darkness enclosed on him, andhe felt himself falling to the ground.
OOC: That's how I felt ColorDeaf, I steped out for a few hours and it was already close to 50 posts.
--------------
IC: The mans energy wasn't staying with me. I swayed on the road and collapsed. The place with the Alter was draining. I'm not quite sure why I had felt the need to find Death Knight so suddenly. Pehaps it was the loss of control... I shrugged and looked down the road from my place on the asphalt. Distances seemed different when I walked. Space seemed to be pulled tight and then released in a contracting snap. I would be in one place, then the next step I would be 100 miles away. I got to my knees and pulled out the stone. What a glorious thing it was. I carresed it lovingly.
A small animal ran across the road. I grabbed it with a swiftness unheard of by man, and squeezed it untill blood trickled onto the small green stone. It pulsed red.
Ryan- "Death Knight... Come, I'm weak..." I put it back in my pocket, not botherng with the mind link. I felt his aura give a cosmic sigh. I let my eyes slip closed. I hadn't entered real sleep in many years... But New York had been so large. Maybe just a bit of rest...
Death Knight: ...
Silently, Death Knight pondered what to do. Was he dieing? Or just out of energy? He must have lost alot of blood from that finishing attack.
Death Knight: ... I'll be back...
He jumped from the tree, ripping a portal open, and fell into it. A single drop of blood fell as the portal closed. It hit the ground, and the grass turned into a black rose, alive and beautiful, in its own gothic way.
Next to Ryan, the blackness of nothingness ripped open, and Death Knight stepped out. It was odd seeing his master in such a state, but he had been in such a state before.
Death Knight: ... Come on. You need to rest...
Giving Ryan his shoulder, he silently closed his eyes. He didnt think Ryan could handle the bumpy rid through the void of nothing, so he would have to teleport him to Mexico the old fashioned way. Getting a lock on the main base at the seige of Mexico city, both of them disappeared in a blue hue..
And appeared just outside of Mexico City, where everyone seemed to be running around. There were lesser shadows, carrying weapons out to the front line, Succubi who were healing some of the wounded, and an older Demon telling some of the young ones strategies in battle. It was an odd sight, but Death Knight knew that Ryan needed some rest.
Death Knight: Take the master to one of the houses nearby, and place him to rest... Get that Succubi over there to heal whatever wounds he has...
Two demons rushed over, and took helped Ryan twards a large, classy house that was a quarter of a mile away. The Succubi finished up healing a Demon, and ran after, The Demon staring after her in lust.
Death Knight followed silently- He *was* Ryan's guard. To do their duty is a knight's way. As he reached the house, he confirmed that Ryan was now resting in the upper bedroom, and the Succubi was healing the wounds he had gotten from the succesful New York attack. Death Knight nodded to the Demon, who scampered off to help in the seige. Slowly walking over to the stairs, he sat down with a 'clank' from his armor, and waited..
Succubi: I am finished.
Death Knight: ...
Succubi: He sustained some pretty large wounds, but they are taken care of. He has lost a pretty large amount of blood, but with his regenetive abilites, he should be fine by morning. But he still might be a bit sore from all the battle he did yesterday.
Death Knight: ...
Death Knight nodded to the Succubi, who floated over him and out the door. Silence fell on the house, the only sound coming from outside- Gunfire, Screams. Explosions. The sound of battle.
A lone mouse skittered across the floor, stopping at the base of the stairs to sniff in the air a bit. Death Knight tilted his head to the side slightly, which started the mouse. It skittered off into its mouse hole, and Death Knight faded back into a statue-like state..
Blood pulsed down the front of his shirt as the demon slashed him. Placing the shotgun against the hellspawn's chest, he blasted twice, and the creature's body was flung over to the over side of the road, only to be replced by two more. Mexico city was slowly being taken over, inch by inch, hell was winning the battle of this place. All Grim could do was try and hold off this part, before more of these damned came through. an unseen claw blasted into his ribcage, he felt the bones crack and gritted his teeth, blod seeping from between them. His shotgun barked again, and he fell as more clws darted in at a moment's hesitation, tearing at him...
I should be dead...
The world slowly came into focus again, with sickening lurches like hew as on the deck of a ship in a disturbed sea, he stood up. the armoured figure had gone, but the beast creature still remained along with the girl.
"Where am I...?" he asked, not realising he was speaking out loud.
