DBGT is a mockery of akira's work.

This is my own opinion of DBGT.

If anyone has any opinions of their own and does or doesn't agree i would be happy to explain why this is my opinion.

Well, its also on the border of being spammish.

Plus, A.T. signed off on the series and he is responsible for the charactor design.

Although I must say that for the longest time I felt the same way as you. I also still have a little of that in me.

But its not a big issue to me now. Now its just a series of db that I havent gotten to see all of and until I do, I woulnt pass un-informed judgement.

Oh yea, last thing.

Enjoy the boards.

Yes i'd probably agree later on but the reason i have brought this up is because i have just finshed watching the last episode of GT and i felt it al went to fast, hardly any of it made sense, not a enough effort was put into the animations and the years spent by akira building up each character was totally abused and not thought out very well.

I personally don't think it was that bad. I mean, I wouldn't exactly go as far as calling it a mockery, but it was still reasonable.

I personally don't really like Dragonball Z or GT very much, but I think they're both pretty good as far as I've seen...

(before you say anything, I saw GT in korea, so don't... kill me. @_@)

Well, GT wasn't my favorite of all the Dragonball series it was in no way a mockery of Akira's work. GT was a great addition to the Dragonball universe and as Gokents said, Akira liked GT enough to let production go on. ^-^ The end of GT was great and with the 500 or so episodes throughout all 3 of the DB series I don't think it went to fast. ;)

:) Dragon Ball GT was pretty much in my opinion a waste of time....and pretty much ruined various elements established in Dragon Ball Z. But then you have to take into account that DBZ ruined various elements from the First Dragon Ball Series.

Overall Dragon Ball GT is one of my least favorite series, however the ending was done somewhat well, at least the last Saga with the Black Star Dragon/Evil Shenlong!

You want to know why the story really sucks (which I agree with you that it sucks), well, a company (forgot the name) saw that DBZ was making such good money, so they made a deal with Mr-Toriyama-San.....He draws the cartoons, they make the story and split the money. Truly, Toriyama-San's idea was to end the whole series at DBZ, but when this animation company gave him this deal, he just said OK....all he did was DRAW. Some losers from the animation company made the story. So there you have it. I promise I didn't make it up...the official DBZ website had it up a few years ago.

The animation company was called Bird studios, if i remember correctly.

DBGT in it's simplicity, cannot be a mockery of Akira's work when he drew it of course! If you break it down however, and call the storyline a mockery, well, then I'd agree with you. I only wish they would make a real cool series after GT (i know doesn't exist).

Why would it be a mockery of Akira's work? I mean the series is great. Akira's work was used on the thing so how really can it be a mockery of it unless he himself meant it to be. I really haven't seen the series to much, but what I have seen I liked. Especially SSJ4, who could not saw that SSJ4 is cool. Thats not a mockery of Akira. So I agree with S@bretooth that it was Akira's work.

Actually... I felt that dbz was a little too long.
Especially the frieza/ginyu saga. It started getting a little more interesting after the Mirai Trunks saga in my opinion...
