electra
I just got live yesterday. I got Fever 2003, and Unreal Championship. Both are very good, and a year subscription for free. Although, there are the ocassional jackasses you ahve to deal with- but that's the volume control on the headset is for.
Guest cloricus
I want... What speed broadband do you have to have and what lag is there? -Epssy
Licky Dust
well you have to have DSL or Cable modem...no dial-up service and as for lag...i haven't treally noticed any on my end! but of course i'm not speaking for all 'puters! :tasty:
Guest 9Eagle7Dragon
Lag...? Oh yeah... Lag... Wait, what lag...? Yeah, case in point. The Xbox has it's own hard drive so it won't lag almost at all. There are supposed to be 50 titles for XBL released. You need some kind of high speed internet in order for it to work. Dial up won't cut it, guys. B4 I forget, here's a site that will give you all u need 2 know. www.xbox.com/live oh well, hope I helped. DuncanIdaho
My friend has XBOX Live and it doesn't lag and I haven't seen it lag but once or twice. We played a lot of Unreal but i was terrible at it. Unreal isn't my favorite type of game. XBOX Live has an amazing set up...too bad you can't browse the system. From what I hear XBOX Live's best game is MechAssault. Too bad I haven't played it to give y'all a good review of it. Guest cloricus
9Eagle7Dragon lag has nothing to do with the hdd. I guess with no dial-up's there would hardly be any lag.
Semjaza
I've not heard complains of lag from anyone that plays... in normal situations I have, however, read complaints of people playing games with specific modems (DSL, Cable, whatever) and not being able to get certain games to run correctly on them, if at all. Ghost Recon seems to be the biggest problem with that, and the developer/publisher has zero plans on EVER releasing a patch to fix it. They know it's a problem, apparently they don't care. Ryan
Yes! I thought you had to have DSL and that was it. I am glad cable is included. I am glad my dad got me cable around a month ago! Now I get Live. My parents are probably getting it for me for Christmas. See that is the only thing I told them I wanted. Raises the chances of you getting it! Genius, I know. lol!

BigCajones
It ain't out here yet in England yet till March :(, but I suppose that gives me time to get broadband, I really want to get it as it sounds great fun if I can find people to play I'm sure all of you wouldn't mind would you? I will try and get Unreal Championship and Mech Assault when it out here.

BigCajones
Yeah I hope my parents allow me to get broadband in my room. This better not be a failure though, because I'm all hyped up about this, so anyone who has X-Box Live can you tell me if you've had any technical flaws yet? I want to challenge the World hahaha eeevil
Tommy Vercetti
i read in a magazine with like where ppl send in letters that this one guy had to change the router on his pc or sumthin but they have this website which explains how to use it and any problems u may have and how to handle them i think and im all hyped up bout it too I have found out the site name it is www.xbox.com/LIVE/connect/default.htm
Bing
Well, personally I am not THAT hyped about it. I may get it, if I get broadband anytime soon, but I aint expecting anything yet. I think there could be a serious problem that Microsoft have underestimated. Jerks. Plain and Simple. There are going to be alot of weird people hanging out on these things, who knows how old etc. especially with the voice masking feature. Imagine you're in the middle of a game, and some guy starts speaking to you, swaring etc. what do you do? Is there any 'report this user' option? This is probably one of the reasons for me not to get XBox Live. However, one feature of 'Live' that may atttract me, is the fact that you can download extra levels etc. for games you own, like Splinter Cell for example.
Tommy Vercetti
Hmm i hear that Xbox live has finally come out in the UK and i was wondering if anyone has got it and used it and what it is like and whether it is worth getting. I really want to get it but i heard the speed and internet connection may vary the picture and display of the games. This will be disappointing for people with the slower computers i think so if anyone has any information please say.
Bing
Well, I've seen online videos of people playing it, and there doesn't seem to be much lag on te gameplay at all. There is a minimum connection speed that you need to run Live(600k I think), but this is just from a dull piece of information from my internet supplier, asking me if I was interested in the service.
Tommy Vercetti
Hmmm this may seem like a really dumb question to ask but can multiple people play on one Xbox for Live as i wasn't sure whether it was only one person playing on the console. ( if that made any sense, sorry if it didn't.) Also what would happen if you did Xbox Link up and connected it to Live would that work?
Bing
That's a question I to was seeking the answer for. IF I understand correctly, this is how it works; You can play up to four peopleon a console, but each person must have an X Box Live username and details saved to the memory card, plugged into their controller. I think that's how it works. And about the system link up...I don't think it's possible, because I believe that the Ethernet port is used for the system link-up, as well as the Live connection, so doing both at the same time would be a bit tricky.
Tommy Vercetti
Hmmm now I come to think about it I am not really sure if I want to get Xbox Live as my broadband connection goes really funny and my dad has access to turn off my internet as mine and his computer are connected via a wireless USB adapter thing im not entirely sure what it is but so when he goes out he usually turns off his computer so I am therefore disconnected from the internet which would make Xbox Live working because you would need to be connected to the internet.
