Hyper
Which would you rather do? Would you play a card that would raise your LP? Or would you play a card that would lower your opponent's LP? I think this is an interesting question. By the decision you can make, you may buy time, or speed up the game. For example: Giant Germ or Nimble Momamga? What would you do? Circ
I think this depend on both the deck you are making and the situation you are in. Beside, Nimble Momonga is cooler than Giant Germ XD
Spikey
I'd rather lower my oppenets. See, if you raise your life points, then when your oppenet gets the chance to lower them, they are just goona go back down. Now if your going to make it good, then lay a card down that can lower the person's life points, and can raise yours. That would be good.
DeathBug
I say lower your opponents, in most cases. (Unless, of course, you're playing with a Toon or Exodia deck.) I figure that since the whole object of the game is to get the other guy/gal down to Zero, why not speed up the process?
Domon
I would use both, i mean say your opponent has a weak monster and you have a oh lets say a BEWD on the field and you have a Dian keto and a Ookazi. I say blow the weak monster away and then boost your life points and then nail them with Ookazi. I was just throwing out a scenario.
Alexander
Definitely Lower. Why? I've made miss-snatches with Snatch Steal before, several times bumping my opponent's LP to 15000 before I could end the effect of Snatch Steal. At the same time, I was at a mere 1200 LP. What happened? I turned the whole thing around and destroyed him via beatdown. If my opponent could gain 7000 LP and still be hammered into the ground...*ahem*

I always play Yu-Gi-Oh 5 but it's an emulator, and therefor Japanese, so I can never read their card effects and there is a lot of guess-work involved (I still win anyway, I beat Mai 17,000 to 0 thanks to Snatch Steal). But I was just wondering how long it lasted. Anyway, I would rather lower life points on the game, seeing as how that's my main strategy is direct damage in the game (I think I've won by killing a monster once after who knows how many matches?). But in real life, I'd take whatever card comes to my hand.

Kinetic
That's what I figured, guess I'll have to add more De-Spells because it seems as though it's in all of my oponents' hands at the start of the duel.
G/S/B Master
I would Lower....Because you may raise your Life points with Solemn Wishes and Dian Keto....But you're just going to lose easier....When you lower your opponent's Life points it makes winning more easier. If you choose both then you'll love the Mystic Box+Immortal Of thunder combo. It gives the user the edge. You see....IoT raises your life points by 3000 when you summon it.But you lose 5000 when it goes to your Graveyard....But I know how to take advantage of it....Since Mystic Box switches monster and destroys the monster and the monsters go to the oppisite Graveyard....You get the 3000 bonus and your opponent gets the 5000 lost.It turns the whole thing around. Not only that you could destroy your opponent's most powerful card :D.Very deadly indeed. iggy
I would rather lower my oponnents LP because I'm not a fan of long duels
Guest Altron Gundam
Lower...the faster your strategy kicks in and damages your opponent the better. Speed is the name of the game. You NEVEr want to extend a duel any longer than it has to go..unless you're on the losing end lol.
Digital Monster
Exactly, you can never tell which one you'll need, coz you don't know what end of the whooping stick you're gonna be on.
Rei
I would raise my LP because if my opponent threw out a stronger card I would be prepared with my monster already being stronger.
Guest Altron Gundam
Raising LP can be countered with Drug Reaction --; Better to get the duel over with, otherwise sometimes you maybe on the opposite side of an Exodia lmao.
AnimeAddict
I would lower... It gets your opponents life points down quicker which gives you the advantage.
BondFanatic
I'd have to go with lowering the opponent's. There are specific reasons that I keep to myself, (past deuls in which there were mistakes even n00bs would laugh at), so don't ask.
Hyper
Though some decks purposefully lower their LP. Those include Devil Franken decks and cards like quiz and Quiz of Reversal. (I forget which one one has which effect)
