Gaming Fav Mario game

Whats your favorite Mario game on any system? I like all of them they are all very good. How about you?

[color=indigo]Mine would be Super Mario World, either the original or the GBA remake. It was hard without being insanely hard for most of it (like the original SMB, heh), it was decently long (for its time), and provided lots of different types of levels, power-ups, and it was the first game to feature Yoshi. It had some of the best play control ever in a game, and I still occasionally find myself humming a tune from it. Even though it was the first game out on the SNES, it still stands up to a lot of the platformers today, which I think says a lot about how good it is.

And remember, people, always post reasons why you like a particular game when replying. Any post that doesn't give a better reason than, "I like it because it's cool," or something similar will be deleted, as with all favorite threads.[/color]

My favorite Mario game would be Super Mario Bros. 3 on the SNES (Super Mario All Star). SMB3 had everything I wanted in a videogame, creative level designs, awsome boss battles, power-ups (racoon), and an addictive battle mode where two people tried there best to kill all the enemies first before the other player. My sister and I still play it today, wheter its the adventure mode or the battle mode. ;)

Super Mario 2 had to be one of the most unique games I had ever played for a good while. It was totally unexpected from playing the other Super Mario Bros.

Well, the Zelda series got me into video games... but my favorite Mario game would have to be... Lost Levels or SMB3.... I liked Lost Levels because it never ended! it just kept going on and on and on and on... then you get to Bowser... beat him.... and here you are going into Wolrd A-A, A-B, A-C and so on. I guess it was the fact that you could be small and have the fire power ability by eating two of the shrooms that make you grow...

Not one.... lose it by getting hit, then eat another one... I mean you get a block that gives you a mushroom.... follow it to the next block that does, eat em both. You'll be small Mario, but be able to shoot fireballs. I learned that trick around the time The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past came out on SNES... man, those were the days... sitting back with friends, having a Mario party where we would go about acting like the characters from SMB and play the games until we either fell asleep, had to go home, or passed out...

Super Mario Sunshine. It has great graphics, great gameplay. It's just down right great. The first mission wasn't all that good. And I got tired when I had to catch the shadow guy, but other than that, it's a great game.

Well my favorite is a SNES oldie which no one probably remember but...Mario Paint! I know it isn't actually where you are Mario, but hey I would stay playing it for hours and would even get up late at night because I just had to paint or color or something. Very addicting. It is where you can pick different tools and create different pictures, backrounds, etc... I loved it! Now I wish I hadn't sold my SNES!:cry:[/size]

I love them all. To pick one would be like picking between night and day, life and death, food or water,............ohhhhh, forget it. My absolute, favorite Mario game has to be Mario Bros. 3.88 levels, awsome graphics,(for those days) and a whole **** load of power ups. What's not to like? And for those of you wondering, the next Advance Mario game will be Super Mario Bros. 3. If you don't believe me, try and find the info. My favourite game with Mario in would have to be Super Smash Bros Melee!!! Its such a fun game to play with friends and its a bonus when i beat them all the time i get to rub it in their faces :P Also alot of things to do one player which is great, but my fav game in the mario series would probably be Super Mario Sunshine, it looks really good graphics and alot of things you can do move wise! I read the instructions manual man there is alot of buttons.

Anywho, I liked one of the ones on the NES. I can't remember what it was called (probably the second one). All I remember, is I used to go round my friend's house and he would turn it on and we'd take turns in a two-player game.

The thing I remember most distinctly about this one is it had that raccoon hat that made you fly and you could get loads of items (windpipes, mushrooms, etc.) in these little toad houses. You had to jump on the box you wanted. I always got something crappy like a mushroom, he always got rare items. V_V

If anyone could tell me the name of that game, that'd be great thanks.

Apart from that game, I'd say that Super Mario Bros: Yoshi's Island was my favourite. I found all the different types of worlds that you could visit (by worlds, I mean areas, like the Donut Plains), and the different items and enemies you found in that world unique and had a nice.. touch to it. Plus, it was one of the first Mario games that I pretty much completed.. apart from the last area (the ones with names like Gnarly and Groovy).[/size][/color]

I think you're talking about Super Mario World, for the second game, though. Donut Plains is an area in Super Mario World, as is the Special World (the area that has the level Gnarly in it).[/color]

If I had to chose beteewn one Mario game I would chose Super 64 Mario the graphics are okay and you have to get 122 stars. That is a fun game.

I don't think there are more than 120. If you can get more, it's probably a glitch, like how you can get more than 100 Gold Skulltulas in Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I'll believe it when I see it, pretty much, though I'd be happy to try it out if you'd tell me how you're supposed to get the other two, or even only one.[/color]

Yes, you can get 122 power stars in this game though I havent beat this game I know that you can get 122 for a fact. Maybe you have not got all the one hundred coin stars. I have a book that tells you where every star is in the game and there is 122 stars in this game. Keep trying.

[color=indigo]Yes, I have gotten all of the 100 Coin Stars, and all of the Castle Secret Stars, too. I have the official Nintendo Power player's guide, and it says there's a total of 120. I've even tried those rumors that say you can get a 100 Coin Star in the Bowser levels by collecting a bunch of Coins from Bowser's fire breath. They didn't work, even after I got up over 200. And, like I said, I haven't heard anything about there being 122 from anywhere official. Everywhere has said 120.

Unless you tell me where they are and I go and actually get them myself, I'm not believing it. Like I said, though, I'll be more than happy to try out anything you tell me. Unless, of course, it involves a GameShark, in which case it's cheating and they're not actually in the game anyway.[/color]

My favorite Mario game would have to be "Super Mario Sunshine". It's practicly the only game I finished, beside the game "Yoshi's Story"(which I dont count cuz it was SO short). I also like the game Super Mario World 3, my parents beat that game i dont even know how many times along with "Super Mario World 1". Yet I'm not really the adventure game kinda person so the game I absolutly LOVE is "Mario Kart 64".

Anyway, I agree with Treble. SMB. 3 is one of my favorite overall games. And Super Mario Allstars brought it to the SNES with several other games. It was so fun to play! And it still is. I play it to this day over at a friends house. Plus, I love the frog suit.
