well i hope this hasn't been done yet but there is a new Dragonball Z PS2 game coming out in America sometime this week.the game itself is called Dragonball Z Budokai. Its a fighting game that follows the story from the Saiyan saga to the Cell saga. The graphics are cell-shaded and it features an areana that you can walk in all directions. Your list of characters is only 23 or 24, and they range from Goku to Yamcha(i think hes in their)The reason not many have heard of it's arrival? Well it failed to make it to the video game expo's this year. Plus, its not made in Japan. Despite that, from what i have seen, it looks very good.

The game itself looks like its gonna be pretty hot my opinion. Alot of characters, awesome graphics, and so forth. Theres only 2 problems that I see with it. 1.) Majin Buu, Goten, and Trunks arent in it. And 2.) The intro. They use the video from the intro of the Japanese version(first season)in 3D, BUT it has "Rock The Dragon" as the opening theme and it just doesnt fit together in my eyes.

Anyway, here is the official website for DBZ Budokai. http://www.dbzonps2.com There you can view all the news on it, and view videos on it(such as Goku's SSJ transformation against Frieza in 3D and a few of the fight scenes).

I dont know. It looks ok. It will probally get old like tn said.

But most of all, the stuff android 17 mentioned.

Plus, on that site, the opening pic is mystic gohan. Yet hes not in the game. What a jip!

I think they should take their time making this stuff, the sales may be there at first, but with a crap game the sales are only there at first.

Now with a classic, the sales will always be there. (hell, gran turismo 3 was the number 3 selling game for the ps2 a couple of weeks ago according to tech tv. Now thats selling a game!!)

But this thing. No ss3, no majin buu, no fusions.

what the hell are they thinking? Thats like having the otaku boards with no anime section.

They probally meant to do it so they could release another game a year from now.

I just hope the negative comments here, by me and others, are proved to be silly and not true. Hopefully the game will be awesome.

Something tells me that I will be let down if I expect anything less than poop.

It looks like thrash to me. Even though I'm optimistic, from what I've heard and from what I've seen of it, it looks like it'll be almost exactly the same as DBGT: Final Bout. Funimation, it seems, rips off everything they try.

I'm of course going to maybe possilby rent it, but that's about all. The graphics, in the screens I saw, look rather low for a PS2 game. It may change though, (the graphics) I'll have to wait and see, though.

Just like MK: Deadly Alliance, I'm still going to give it a chance, even if it may be the same thing again.

My friend just got it. WE've already beat it. and then we beat the extra story mode. Some of the fights are hard as hell, but most are simple. Also some of the moves are a pain to pull off. Actually I wondering if anyone knows if SSJ3 is on the game?
I saw a pic for the game and it had Goku level 3 and we havent found it yet.

The game looks really terrible .. and sites such as IGN and Gamespot have given it too low of a score for me to actually play it .. but like SS5 Gogeta said, I don't agree with their opinions.

The game is out now [Hell, it's even at Best Buy], and I've seen the commercial once. Once. Thus, my prediction is that all of the little dubbies are going to get out all of their DBZ gear, bug their parents to buy the game, and then spend endless hours playing the game, and more time going "KAMAYHAMAYHYAAAAAAAYAYAYAYAYA!!!" at school when they talk about it.

I'll actually get the game, however. But just for the sheer enjoyment of Vegita's Final Flash to completely and utterly destroy things...XD

I played it today and I was impressed. My only main diturn was combos are way to easy to pull, while some special moves were way to hard. I only got to play twice, so I can't be sure. But, I'll be going over to my friends agains tommorow. Hopefully, I'll get to play some more then. :p

Unfortunately, since I'm a huge DragonBall Z addict, and because the game does feature Mr. Satan, I will foolishly buy it.

The mechanics obviously won't knock my socks off, but it'll be refreshing to play a game that's somewhat true to the series. Having looked at the cast of characters thoroughly, I'm quite sure that there are no rabbits, snakes, squirrels, or wolves to be found. So, it can't possibly be as terrible as the GameBoy Advance version.

I'm a bit disappointed that flying isn't an awfully important feature in the game. According to what I've read, you can only take flight once you've been launched into the air. From that point on, there aren't any unique aerial moves, so the game is rather grounded.

I guess it's still worth a try nonetheless.

If you're looking at this game from the gamers perspective, it's one of the worst fighters out there. however, if you look at it from the DBZ fanatic's (most of you) view, it's a great game.

Were this not a DBZ game, nobody in the world would even care about it.

Impossible to go SSJ3
if that were possible..then it would be under Death-move or Transformations

Mr. Satan's 2 biggest moves are the funniest..
Present For You
and Hercule Special???And Medra don't forget the Big Bang Attack :flaming: :) :toothy:

First of all, I'm back. Welcome me. ^_^ j/k.

ANYWAY, while I was in Gatlinburg, I was playin a few peeps in Tekken 4 when I over heard some guy talkin to this other kat about DBZ Budokai, and he said that it was one of the best games that he's played. As a matter of fact, he put it up there with Tekken 4 and a few of the other fighter games. But on the subject matter at hand, he mentioned that he had beat the game(on hard I think he said, I cant remember what he said the difficulty level was)and he said at at the very end of the game, you find 2 hidden characters. SSJ3 Goku and Evil Kid Buu(he said that there wasnt any other characters from the Buu saga. Just those 2 that he knows of). He must've beat the game wit Goku. But anyway, after I beat some guy in Tekken 4, the guy talkin about Budokai came in and I began to play him(which I must say was probably the hardest person I've ever played in Tekken 4. I never been taken to the limit like the way he did me. ^_^). As we played, I asked him if the stuff about Kid Buu and SSJ3 Goku was true or if he was just jokin. Well, he told me it was all true, and he mentioned that one of the moves Buu did to him was he took his thing at the top of his head(whatever you'd wanna call it), grabbed him by the neck and threw him into the ground. But he said that it was probably the funnest thing that he's played.

So this is definetly makin me want to khop this game. Whenever I get the money, I for one am DEFINETLY gonna get this game, try to beat it myself and then I'll be able to let ya know for sure if the SSJ3 Goku and Buu thing is true....or I could just search the net and see if theres anymore pics of Budokai so I could possibly let ya know then if its definete or not. But this game seemed like an avid gamer(one of those types that you'd see constantly in arcades or buyin video games. As if it was his hobby or somethin). So who knows. I'll try to find out for myself. ^_^

the game is worth buying. its a virtual fighter four-esque game with a solid fighting engine. the graphics are a bit annoying, but the stellar line up of characters and modes should take your attention off of that. its out now, rent it, and if you develop a liking for it, buy it. D
