Nerdsy
I have a problem with my PS2. A strange number stuck in the upper left hand corner of the screen, and I don't know how to get it off. It was 0017 followed by a white block, but now it's changed into 0000 followed by a white block. Does anybody know how to get rid of this?
Semjaza
I don't have my PS2 right now (UGH), but I'd say boot up without a game in it... Check out all those options in there, and see if someone weird is enabled. I think there is something about showing version numbers in there, but I'm probably wrong. RicoTranzrig
I've had my PS2 lockup when I put in new games but I haven't experienced anything like that before. If you're playing different games and it keeps appearing, you might need to get your hardware checked...I'm not sure what it actually is. Oh, the mysteries of the PS2...
ZeroBlade
I never heard that one before.... does this happen during a game or does it show up when it starts up (splash screen)? The only thing I've come across that is a bit similar to your problem is ? and a CD picture when I was playing Metal Gear 2. The result of that is it ends up freezing the game. I always thought it was a problem on the Disc but futher analysis shows the lens on the reader was dirty and had to be replaced.
Nerdsy
Semjaza: That was the first thing I tried. I fiddled with every option I could find, nothing changed it. I suppose I could keep trying for a little more, maybe I missed it. Zero: It comes up on both the splash and during games.
Red
It could be a weird option selected on your TV, as you have to play the PS2 through a SCART lead you play on AV, so it may be an AV option..
