Omar Harris
Hello, tis me. I was just wondering, is there any old show or movie from your past that you would like to remember and/or share? A beloved whatever that you haven't seen in such a long-time that you just have to reminise(sp?)? One of my favorite shows was one that used to come on Nickelodeon in the mid-90s called Space Cases. The show was basically Star Trek Jr. In it, a group of space cadets sneak aboard a mysterious ship that only kids can pilot. Two teachers come with them and the ship accidentally gets lost after flying through a wormhole. The story revolves around the kids and their teachers, as they go on all these weird adventures and even battle evil aliens. The cast was led by Harlen Band, an African-American from Earth, who was played by the same actor who portrayed Zach, the original Black Power Ranger. The rest of the group includes: Bova: A sarcastic, po'ed kid from Uranus (I would be too if I came from Uranus) who could shoot electricity from the tuning fork like protrusion on his head Rando: A super-strong Adromoden who had super hearing Cataleena: A Saturnian who had a sonic yell and an "invisible" friend named Suzie who everyone thought was imaginary. Funny, because in season 2 when Cataleena was thought to have died in an explosion, Suzie appeared. It turns out she was invisible because she lived in a parallel dimension that she send Cataleena to in order to save her. Suzie was uber intelligent, had gills to breath in any atmosphere and, if I remember, I think she was telekinetic. Rosie: A Mercurian who was always cheerful and could control heat and shoot heat blast. Thelma: A robot who had a broken mental chip and was always acting really weird. Commander Goddard and the teacher (whose name escapes me now). Anyway, the show was pretty funny without constant gross-out humor, and gave kids their own action adventure series with all the necessary drama (such as Harlen's hatred towards Rando because Andromedans killed his dad.). What's yours? Why?
amibasuki
LOL, I remember that show. the girl Cataleena was played by Jewel Staite [sp]; I remember because she also played Becka on Flash Forward. if I remember correctly, I think she and Harlen had a little thing going at the very end, before she died/disappeared, or something like that........that's really sad I can remember that.....ANYwho..... I used to love Stick Stickley, not sure if he would be 'old-school' though, lol. I liked Clarissa Explains It All and Legends of the Hidden Temple a lot, too. can't think of any particular old Disney shows I was into, though.
Manic Webb
I remember Space Cases. Wasn't Suzie played by a young Denise Richards? (oooh, Denise) I remember some parts of the first episode. Like how when the kids first boarded the ship, they touched the organic walls and the ship bonded with them, but the Commander and Ms. Davenport were too freaked out by the walls to touch them, so only the kids can use the controls of the ship. (which had no weapons, despite it being constantly attacked and having shields) One of my favorite ol' school Nickelodeon shows would have to be The Round House. It was a cheaply-made, fast-paced comedy show with cardboard props where each sketch was started instantly after one ended. It was the only show on Nick (besides Ren & Stimpy) that used profane language. Whenever my life gets me so down I know I can go 'round To where the music and the fun never ends. As long as the music keeps playin' You know what I'm sayin'. I know that I can find a friend Down at the Round House! (I can't believe I still remember the theme song)
Delian
There are a lot of old shows that I used to love watching, but my favourites would have to be Get Smart, Laurel and Hardy, The Three Stooges and Mr Ed. For movies, I would have to say all the Jerry Lewis movies. As you can see, they're all comedies. My eyes were glued to the screen when Get Smart was on. Agent 86 always had me in stitches, even with the repeats. It was always fun to watch The 3 stooges and Laurel & Hardy get into all that painful trouble. Mr Ed is a complete smart arse. I loved that horse.
Manic Webb
Get Smart's main character was Maxwell Smart: Agent 86 (not 36). It's funny how he married his partner Agent 99, but they never revealed her real name.
Delian
Thanks for correcting me. Yeah it is funny. I used to ask myself that question, but then I thought that 99 is her name and her agent number...Larabee was also a barrell of laughs in the show. sydney
Thinking about Get Smart brings back all my youthfull memories..... That show is one of the best showes ever. If they still put it in regular rotation on one of the major networks then I would still watch it.
vegeta rocker
There are so many! Space Cases is definetly one then there is Round House. Maybe someone here can tell me this one: There was a young girl with red hair and a yellow dress, and she had something to do with bears. I can't remember the name but i remember it came on Nickelodeon. I also enjoyed Fluppies and Dinosaucers. Zorro also holds an eternal place in my heart. I remember that they had new version of Get Smart for awhile on Fox, it might have been Doogie Howser who played him. Man I loved Doogie also, as for old movies i am in love with the Black Beauty movie. As for old shows i liked little house on the prarie(sp) and hawaii 5-
