Trouble for Me

Allow me to explain my current situation.

I've been a lazy bastard for the past few months and I haven't bothered to complete and hand in most of my coursework. I feel like I'm getting dumber by the minute, as my results in my better classes slip.

My mother doesn't shut up. A bit blunt I know, but it's exactly how I feel. All she does is moan at me to do this that and the other, which normally constitutes to me doing extravert amounts of work that isn't needed. I know she means well (before one of you reply with that point) by caring about my education and so forth but she's taking it too far. I've already spoken to her about the amount of pressure she's putting on me and she said she would back off. However, this only lasted a few weeks and now she's piling the pressure back on top of me.

All this and I'm currently taking mock exams. I have a science exam tomorrow which encompasses almost all the subjects of science we have taken over the past 8-10 months. I've revised hard for it, but I still don't know half the stuff needed, no matter how hard I try.

It's all just building up and I feel like finding a high place and jumping off it.. Recently I've been very depressed about a lot of things, including this.

Any advice?

Lol! How's the new Kelly Rowland vid gonna help?

I'd say just try to get the past assignments and beg your teacher(s) if you can turn them in by like.... say... wednesday? And hopefully maybe get at least half credit?

Besides, don't let your mom get you depressed and frustrated... As a motto of my organization, "At Least Consider..." Meaning, at least consider where she's coming from with it... Now I know you probably still won't agree, but do your best to not lot it get to you...

I'm already about a month over all my deadlines. I know I'm an idiot for doing so, but I've never been a man for doing work well at home. Even I do hand them in on Wednesday, they wouldn't be any good.

Do something to expel that strong negative energy from your mind. Something that puts it to good use. Such as I usually write a poem or something of the such when I'm feeling like you are. I'll tell you, as you already know, it all piles up, like a trashcan, if you don't expel some, and it eventually topples over.

OMG! I AM SRIOUSLY GETTIN PISSED OFF WITH ALL THESE SUICIDE THINGIES! i THINK YOU ALL JUST WANT SYMPATHY! That was not aimed at you Elite, but it is really starting to piss me off. Anywa, solution, work your really hard Mister! No honestly, just leave teh computer, actualy, get someone(a friend, brother, mother) to hide the main socket plugs from your PC, Console and TV, so you can study! Also finish the late exams, i think that should help, its drastic, but will work.

Have you ever been on the verge of suicide yourself Shinobi? I might be able to respect your viewpoint on all the "suicide thingies" if you could spell at all and refrain from using consistant profanity.

The term I used was a saying, to find a high place and jump off it. However, I do admit that I have considered suicide recently. Why? Because I feel very depressed. Maybe I AM looking for sympathy, because I can confide in the people on OtakuBoards, who I trust and count as friends.

If your frankly idiotic post isn't aimed specifically at me, do you care to tell who it is aimed at? As I'm sure they would be happy to respond with their reasons.

I'm really not in the mood for silly behaviour from a child such as yourself. People have feelings, people get depressed, and some people would like advice on how to deal with the more extreme feelings that they can get.

I'm sorry for going off topic about all this, but I think that clears it up.

Back on track, it's kind of reached a worse stage.. as I've just found out that if I don't pass this exam tomorrow with flying colours I'll be bumped down to a foundation level class, which means I can only achieve a C maximum.

Meh.. I'm naturally lazy. I've been close to failure so many times it's almost scary.. but somehow I always manage to come out ok.. and now I'm in university.. I don't know quite how it happens, but for some reason I just keep managing to scrape myself up everytime I look like I'm going to fail. I really must stop doing that (getting into that situation, I mean). Still.. don't worry too much. I'm sure you'll do fine. And I really mean that.. you seem like a bright enough guy

No problem, it really does take your mind off things... especially when you start playing with the clock... that's when it gets fun. I've forgotten all of my troubles by doing that, so maybe you will too... Good luck!

It's hard to give you advice in this situation.

Training the mind is very similar to training the body. You can't just hit the gym one day and walk out in top form. Molding the mind is a methodical experience, you have to shape it over time, exercising it with thought.

As I mentioned in another thread recently, the best exercise you can partake in right now, is rewriting your class material repeatedly. Rewrite it and reread it for about an hour. Once you've done so, put the notebook down and try to recite the notes to yourself. If you can't repeat and understand the material, then you haven't learned it. I know that it will take some time, but if you push yourself, I'm sure that you can get a grasp on some of the material for tomorrow's exam.

You know that your problem is laziness, therefore, you know what you must overcome. It's really simple; in this situation you must help yourself. I know you can get by this. Just hammer it all in, lol. If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail.
