Solo Tremaine
Does anyone know anything about the potential releases for these two films in the West? I know the fourth movie, Celebi: A Timeless Encounter has long been released in Japan, and there was something said about it being released in the US sometime in July, but nothing came of it. I have the soundtrack and for a brief period managed to see the japanese trailer, but then it all but disappeared. I think it looks really good, from what I've seen. Especially as Syther's more than just in the background in this one :p. Any news on DVD releases or anything? Also, I was wondering if anyone had any information on the fifth movie. I know it stars about 100-odd new Pokemon, including three special birdy-type things (I think). News on plot/new monsters?
Desbreko
Well, according to pokemon.com, the fourth Pokémon movie came out in the US on Oct. 11, 2002. I haven't really been paying attention to news about the movies, though, so I dunno.
Zanarkand Abes
Go to apple.com and view the movie trailer for it. It was released in October, and I think the fifth movie has Pokemon from Ruby and Saphire, which is to be released in March of next year for GB Advance. BigCajones
Can I just ask what is Pokemon Forever? I'm not really sure when the next movie is coming out as the last two just passed me by without knowing they even hit the cinema or anything. I was just sitting at home watching movie channels and saw Pokemon the movie 3 on by suprise. Maybe it won't even go on the cinema (well here in England probably not). Out of movie 1 and 3 I would have to say Pokemon movie 2000 as that was more dramatic and simply better (probably because I saw it at the cinema but hey lol). I don't know about the other films though I will have to look into them!

Desbreko
There was already a thread about Pokémon movies, so I merged the two. As for the Pokémon 4Ever, I don't really follow the movies or cartoons anymore. I mainly just play the games, now.
Solo Tremaine
I think Pokemon 4ever looks to be the best movie so far. The movies have been taken over by Miramax (of Mononoke fame), so the original music's still in there. They were only given $1m to market it this time, which is very little when you're talking about films, which is why hardly anyone's heard about it. The DVD comes out in March, according to Amazon. BigCajones
Ahhh I see now, that's probably why they spelt it 4ever as it's the fourth film *slaps dumb self*. The reason I got confused is-
Originally posted by DARKUNKNOWN2002 Any1 no when pokemoin 4ever is out at the cinema or on dvd and whens the new movie coming out
I thought they were totally different things by that, but I mistook what was said obviously. I myself along with Debresko are more interested with the upcoming games based on Pokemon, and have lost interest to watch the series or the films anymore. Maybe I will if I have absolutely nothing to do, usually when I'm ill I get in bed and watch T.V, but that's about it. :toothy: When are these two movies coming out then? Are they going to be on at the cinema, or just come out on DVD? P.S can't wait till Ruby and Sapphire!
Solo Tremaine
Movie 4 (Pokemon 4ever) is out in US cinemas now, and the DVD will be out in March (I think). I've no idea when/if the UK will get to see them, and the fifth movie's only just started airing in Japan, I believe. So that'll probably be around sometime next year, I'm guessing. Mind you, it took a year and a half to get from movies three to four, that may have been due to the hand-over to Miramax. So it could be later. Raichu Tamer
wasn't Mewtwo returns the fourth movie?
BigCajones
I'm not very knowledged about these things, but I'm sure that's the first movie which in England was called Pokemon the movie 2000, but I'm not sure really. I just remember Mewtwo being the main character! :)

Desbreko
Um, no, Mewtwo Returns isn't the first movie. The first movie is Mewtwo Strikes Back, or something like that. Mewtwo Returns was made after the third movie was made. However, it's not the "real" fourth movie. It's more of just a side story sort of thing, that tells what happens to Mewtwo after the events in the first movie, Mewtwo Strikes Back. I keep meaning to rent it, and see if it's any good, but I always forget.
BigCajones
Oh right sorry, we don't really here about any of the movies here in England I didn't even know there were a 2 and 3 they just flew right by till I saw 3 on the T.V. Thanks for the information anyway, that not Mewtwo Returns sounds pretty interesting. Grant :demon:
Solo Tremaine
Mewtwo Returns was drawn by the US branch as opposed to the Japanese. You can tell because of the slightly different styling and the fact that there was no animation during the credits. There was no original music, either. I think it ws made to bridge the gap between the releases of Spell of the Unown and Pokemon 4ever. I have Mewtwo Rteurns... I bought it. Yes, I did. It's not too bad. Although rather cliche and kind of... saccharin. And it kind of drags the concept from the first movie over clones and Pokemon and which had the true right to be alive... which was fairly boring. I enjoyed it, though.
cid highoffwind
hey, if they have 1,2,3 and Mew2 returns (when he gets his butt kicked by Giovanni) then would you classify returns as a sequel or #4 thus making celebi #5 and so on, or have i confused myself to the point that i have confused you as well or what? um... i'm totally confused now. if you can help me, please help me!!!! Solo Tremaine
Mewtwo returns isn't, strictly speaking, an official movie, as it was animated by the US animation team (so I assume. That may not be right, though). It wasn't released in cinemas in Japan or in the US- it was a straight-to-video sequel. So Celebi: A Timeless Encounter (er... Pokemon 4ever) is still movie 4, and so on after that. I guess.

Solo Tremaine
I liked Movie 3. It wasn't spectacular, but I enjoyed it. It went just that little bit deeper and darker than the first two. Albeit not by very much. The ending was rather anti-climactic, but still quite good. And the music was twee and sappy for the most part. I find the movie's plotlines more interesting than those in the series, despite them still not having any more character development. Which is a shame, because if they were written properly, they could be really good. Although you'd probably need a new cast of characters for that. Movie 6, perhaps? Anyway, I gather Pokemon 5 stars Latios and Latias. Can anyone confirm?
