Juu
School= Yes. Homework= No. I really like school, because it gives me something to do over the week. Without school, I'd get bored out of my mind. - .-' I like to think how close a holiday is, during the school year. But once the break does arrive, I wish I could go back to school, since there really isn't anything to do, being an only child and all. School's pretty fun, also. ^_^ I talk to my friends, watch some of my goofier friends make each other laugh, and do other things I can't do at home. ^_^
sydney
Originally posted by calumon_luver I like school because I get to spend time with my friends, but on the other hand...somethings we learn are pointless. I mean I'm learning history when I'm becoming a vet!!!!!!Does that make sense?
It is in my opinion that history and politics go hand in hand. Political decisions make history. When you think about what I said you might realize it is true. So secretly when you learn history you learn about other peoples culture(so you can better understand other kinds of people) and politics(to a small extent this is true) So what else is so important about it? Many schools like to teach the "whole student" so the student has a good base education in case they decide to do whatever in life. So as soon as you get your general eds. out of the way you can go to almost all of the Vet. classes you want. But until then you and the rest of us will have to suffer with taking general education classes that are desigened to educate the "entire student". As a minor note, I love school. I dont love it in that nerdy way where I get all the good grades or have all the friends kind of way. I am becoming a teacher. And school in general is a very fun experiance. School all the way! Rise up!
Flash
School = No. Homework = Hell No. I don't care if it's necessary for a successful life and all that, It stills sucks. -__-
Guest butterfly
to be honest, i quite enjoy school. i like to learn new thinks and discover what i am good at, and what i am not. a good school teaches you everything you need to know how to live life. socailising, learning and growing into the reall you. if there wasn't school, life would be boring. so its an essential part of life, i guess. but i agree on the homework part, that sucks. Kinetic
I go to a small school, and small schools are the best because there is more freedom, you know everyone (but this can be bad in some ways), and it's just easier to socialize. I guess that there are some aspects of school that I like and some that I dislike. Some things I dislike are my Science teacher who doesn't even give us work really, my World Geography teacher who is an imbecil and doesn't know how to teach, doing something stupid, because in a small school, when you do something stupid, everyone comments on it. Some aspects that I like are that I get to socialize with friends, it's necessary, I learn new things, although I don't necessarily want to all of the time, I learn to appreciate the arts and literature more, and that it is a good way to take up some time, because who knows how many hours of my life I spent on these boards and the internet itself on the internet this summer. So, in short, I like school, but there are some things about it that I just can't stand.
MysticBabe
i am in a very small school. I'm trapped within brick walls for 7 hours a day with people who hate my guts and i hate theirs. all of my friends go to other schools, so i totally look forward to the end of the day, weekends, and school break so i can see them. when it comes to learning, we're so behind that it doesn't matter. everyone says private schools are way more strict, and that we're goody tooshoos and rich snobs. but thats so bogus. Public schools are mor estrict because of the amount of kids they have. we're not goody tooshoos, because their are more drugs at our HS than two of the public HS in our area combined.Ok, some of us may be rich snobs, but a lot of us just get scholarships from the grade school we went to in order to get in. So we aren't rich.
Yu Yu Hakusho!
I kind of like school, kind of don't. I guess I only really like it when I get good grades (which are FINALLY going up!!) Oh yeah, and GOOD LUCK to ANYONE that has exams next week like me! I'm not nervous at all! Hopefully all this studying will pay off...
Sara
In more ways than one, this has been my worst school year. Ever. However, I will often prefer being at school to be being at home. There's stuff to do, and it's really the only contact I have with several of my friends. I'm not a telephone person.

Yu Yu Hakusho!
Uhh, yeah, most of us here are under the age of 21 so yeah, we're still in school. DuoMax
school=HELL NO!! homework=:angry2: I go too a private catholic school (no offense to any catholics are intened by the following remarks) It is really annoying to have the dogma shoved down your throat. I started off there Catholic and now I'm a Buddhist :bluesweat: I just dislike school.
Fall
I go to a private catholic school, and there's no way you'd pick me out of a bowl of bananas to be catholic....:twitch: I hate school for the work. I love school for the lunch times (girls and hang around with friends :D)
Yu Yu Hakusho!
I'd have to say that lunch time is also my favorite time of school, except for the time when I'm OUT of school.... Squashed Snail, do you have to wear uniforms at your school? I sometimes wish that we did because my friend gets made fun of all the time just because she doesn't shop at American Eagle and Abercrombie and Fitch. She buys her clothes from Saks Fifth Avenue, which all of the rude so called "popular" people think is a trailor park. They are SO stupid to think that Saks is a TRAILER PARK. I'm sorry, but my friend is too "rich" for them I think. I guess they think they're the rich ones cuz they shop at A+F. Whatever. I just wish we had uniforms so I wouldn't have to put up with that crap every day.
Mitch
I like school. But on another hand, sometimes I really loathe it. Eh, I just wish you weren't required to take so many pointless classes. Well, I know it makes me more well-rounded academically, but, hell, can anyone give a valid reason why we have to take gym? That class is pointless to me. As is math. I mean, who in the hell is ever going to use algebra, well, most of it, when they go out in life? Because I know the proffesion I chose is certainly not going to have math in it. Sure, I'lll use it day by day, but algebra is pointless to me  I also don't like school because, well, I have to hang around some pretty annoying individuals. Some people just are annyoing. But, I've learned to live with that, and even respect those people. On another hand, you get to see girls, and friends. But I really only have 'bout 3 friends or so....so school really gets lonely for me. Eh, but other than that, and a few other things, school's worth it. Who says school's going to be fun if it's preperation for life?
Vegitto4
Originally posted by Night_Day Okay so here it goes. How many of you people like school or dont like school? Poll above
Heh, heh, heh. Thats a rather general question. In general, no, I dont. But thats just because those at my school walk around like robots, and never try to truly expierence what life has to offer them. That is also due to the fact that There are subjects that i truly despise, and i believe that i have no need for. Like Chemistry. I can understand needing the baisics, but going so indepth as my class does, thats insane. I also think that Algebra os from the devil. Meh. I believe that after a certain point, say, 10th grade, students should be learning what they think will honestly help them further their life. Whateversubject that will get them to do what they wish to do for therest of their life, thent hat is what they should learn. At least 3 subjects that they should be learning, for abot 2-3 hours out of each day. Either all subjects everyday( i like that one) or A different subject everyday. Now to what i like about school. My friends. I dont have many, but hey, I would rather have a few good friends that I can count on than a crap load of people that always let me down. I figure, after I'm out of school, I'll figure it all out. In case any of you wanted to know what i am like at school, then here it is. I'm the guy that everyone sees, but no one notices. Dan L
Meh. Hate uni. Physics just doesn't seem as interesting.. Biochemistry just seems more tedious than ever. The only thing I really enjoy here now is the C.U. (Christian Union) Meh.. I'm at the point where I'm seriously pondering just.. quitting uni altogether.. but I don't think that'd go down too well with Mum and Dad, so I stay anyway.. I just don't know where I want to be right now.. >_<
Charles
Heh, a lot of people immediately dismiss school as a pain, but it's something I'm grateful for. So many people, whether it be for reasons of ethnicity, gender, or class, weren't allowed to have education in the past and the same holds true today to some extent. I mean, some people have risked their lives just to teach others to read and write. With that knowledge, I automatically respect education. I like it because it's there to make me a better person. It really teaches the fundamentals of life and so much more. I can understand despising homework and the tedious nature of school, but I try to overlook such things and see the bigger picture. School has lead me to meet some great people, and it's prepared me for life. I can't ask for much more than that.
Dragonz Fyre
School = sort of Homework = no way I like school for my friends and for art class, since all we basically do is talk to our friends and occasionally drawl stick people on paper. lol (too bad I dont have it next semester). School's not so bad, we have to go through it so we might as well face it with a smile....i sound like my mother....
Vegitto4
I can deal with school. but I agree with the fact that homework is the devil. I dont see the point in it unless you need the practice. I figure, if you understand something when they teach it to you, they shouuld test you either that day, or the next day. That way, you wont have such a majority failing in classes. I'm failing chem right now, because of the fatc that I just dont do my hw all that much, and tests are so few and far between, thaty i dont really know if I can produce the knowledge that my
******
Chemisty teacher expects. Whenever somebody has a question, all she does is repeat what she just said. She doesn't change a single thing in order to actually help the student excel in ehr class, then she wonders why we fail.
IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!
BabyGirl
I [quite literally] love school ^_^ But of course I'm going to a specialty college where all we do is take pictures all of the time, something that I've always loved doing. Just yesterday I was in a film student's photoshoot for his final project, and my boyfriend and I got to pretend to have sex on this bed in the actual movie set where Julia Roberts filmed Erin Brockovich...! In fact, the bed is located in what was Erin's room in the movie ;) You see, after the filming of Erin Brocovich was done, they abandoned the huge sound stage, leaving lights, equipment, and the entire set still intact. My school purchased it for some small amount of money, and now it's a huge asset to the film students who get to use all of this stuff. As for the visual journalism students like myself, we get to check out fun photography 'toys' and go shoot portraits of each other on the beach and at sunset. It's an extremely stressful schedule with thinking of ideas, shooting, and reshooting, but I know it'll all be worth it. In conclusion, yes, I couldn't have asked for a better place to go to school.
