I said that I could accept nothing this year, but with me being young, that's impossible in this family, so I asked for a trench coat and cards.

I do know one thing I'm getting though. My mom said not to feel up my presents because they were very obvious, and she hid one behind the tree so that I couldn't find it. Well, the first thing any 14-year-old american (well, not really, just people like me) will go and do is feel things. And she's right, it was pretty obvious, a skateboard, even though I suck, it's cool :p

It does take away the surprise, though, and so that I don't make a look that is obviously fake, I'll make a joke (heh, I have one, but I wish I had used it when I got my PS2 on my birthday, that was extremely fake, because my dad hinted at PS2).

I could do with a ps2 for Christmas, but however, I will only be able to get my family cards, I feel horrible sometimes when they get me really lavish things (i did get my psone in christmas 1997) and i only get them a card. They say it is just a token, but still.... I wish i could give them more, maybe I'll have a job next year

That's exactly my dilemma. There are only a few stores that will let me work at 14, but they aren't accepting applications at the moment, so I can't get everyone gifts like I had planned. At least by next year I'll be 15 and it'll be somewhat easier.

The only person who I have direct control over in the gift department is my brother. He can't really afford much, so I'll probably just snag the GameCube and PS2 monster cables from him. Well, that and a new watch.

On the other hand, I got him a home entertainment system, so he shouldn't complain about my choices, lol.

I'm getting nothing. My parents are pretty much drowning in financial problems at the moment, mainly because of the drought the state is experiencing at the moment.

They can't really afford anything, and I only have enough money to get them something from my current job. But still, we'll be having a roast dinner like every other Christmas...

Me too, the last few years.. that's always a good way to do it ^^

I know most of what I'm getting:

Toploader CD
U2 CD
Toploader Songbook
DVD
and a book

but then, there's always something I don't know about, too..

I asked for alot of stuff, but I am not sure all I am getting. I found a Mudvayne shirt, a Nirvana CD, and an Invader Zim inflatable chair. Oh, and a football. :D But I know I got much more, Tekken 4 is a must as well as the Stone Sour cd. That is it....:therock:

well, piro, most people make a list, but i always add "surprise me" so..
Eh, yes. Usually I tell my friends not to get me anything, but they do anyway. It makes me feel bad because I did not get them anything. So then I usually make a card, hand drawn even. One of my friends surprised me with SQUEE'S Wonderful Big Giant Book of Unspeakable Horrors by Johnen Vasquez. I have yet to make her a card... I shall probably do that tonight. Another one of my friends has made me something, but I have yet to receive it. I have to get it from her somehow. I made her card last night, it is rather humorous. I was on a major Johnen high at the time, so the artwork and humor strongly resembles that of him. The cover has a demented looking elf and he is saying, "*BEHOLD!!!* For I am an elf!! Waggie Woogi! Perhaps you are wondering why that fat ol' geezer, 'Santa', is not on the front of his own holiday card! Well I'll tell you why? Y'see us elves asked for a simple $150,000.01 raise!! That is all! At first he did not agree to it, stupid fat man. But he is currently a bit tied up at the moment working on those raises! We are unsure as to how long this will take him, so we just took over! W00T! So now that you know why I am here instead of that chunky, stingee idiot, you can open your card!"... FYI, 'stingee' was spelled wrong on purpose, I am not sure why though. Then there is a bunch of blank space all around him where there is no writing. So in a small box near the bottom it says: "This empty space brought to you by lack of creativity." Then on the inner left side it has a picture of Santa hog-tied, blindfolded, and gagged with several signs around him. The read: "I'm with cheap skate", "Probe me", "Slim fast does not work", "I just wanted a sign", "Moo", "Space 4 Rent", "*insert witty or insulting comment here* :)", "The truth is out there", and "I like cheese". In the sky is a silhuoette of Santa's sliegh on fire, and being driven by sheep. then on the back it has my logo, since I almost always hand-make my cards, and at the bottom in small print it reads: "A special thanks to sleep deprivation." It was about three in the morning when I finished this. Plus I threw in some matches and a bottle cap that is redeemable for one free twenty ounce Sprite. I also drew on the inner side of her card, a replica of her two favorite panels in a Squee! comic. All of it complete with a black, ballpoint pen! On another note, I believe another one of my friends is getting me something... I just do not know what... So yes...
originally post by Cyko
Ask for nothing, ask for nothing? Are you mad?:p
Some people just do not ask for much. It took me quite some time to make a list of things that I might want. Most of the items were just "Why not?" ideas. So no, we are not mad. Just a bit minimalistic, I guess.

I can't say that I've searched for my gifts, but I have a pretty good idea of what I am getting. In previous years, I'd go looking for presents, but I've realized that I would much rather be surprised when the time comes.

In any case, I bet I'll be getting a few video games this year, not a lot though since I got my new computer as an early Christmas present. >.<
