Ice Lake ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It was early spring, and Kakariko Village was plagued with a thunderstorm that night. Drake Desbreko could see the occasional flash of lightning through the windows, and hear the far-off cracks of thunder, as wind driven rain beat against his small house. Normally, Drake enjoyed these storms. He liked to sit and read by the light of a fire, while listening to the storm raging on outside. But now, he has other things on his mind--matters that would shape the very course of history, and change Hyrule forever. He rose from his chair by the small fire in the fireplace, and began to pace, mulling over what Sahasrahla had told him. Could he really be a descendant of one of the ancient Knights of Hyrule, just like Link? Was it really his destiny to defeat Ganon and restore peace to this dark, depressed land? Drake didn?t know. He had questions, but no answers. Well, worrying about it all night isn?t going to help. Sahasrahla has always been right before, except? He thinks about what happened to Link. Sahasrahla had seemed pretty sure that he was the Legendary Hero, but it was now apparent that that was not so. Drake shiveres, trying to dispel thoughts of that nature. He knew it wouldn?t do any good worrying, but knowing that rarely helps. Pulling on his thick, grey cloak and raising the hood, he opens the door and steps outside. Immediately he feels the push of the wind, blowing him back towards the doorway. Bending almost double, he makes his way out into the storm. Few lights remain burning in this furious storm, and he makes his way to the Kakariko Tavern a few blocks from his house mostly by memory. Stumbling through the door, he quickly closes it and walks forward to the bar. A few other people, most likely taking refuge against the storm with a drink as he was, looked up from the counter and few tables set up around the room at the newcomer. Drake sits down at the bar and shivers, pulling down his hood to reveal his now-tattered dark brown hair. He brushes a lock of hair from his eyes as the Bartender walks over to take his order. Bartender: You look as though you?d seen a ghost. What can I get for you? Drake: That storm isn?t too gentle on a man. And I think I?ll have a mug of Goron Ale, please. The Bartender raises an eyebrow at Drake?s request, before turning to get his drink. Bartender: Strong stuff. Something on your mind? Drake: Heh, just one can't hurt, though, right? And yeah, lots of things, actually. Talked to Sahasrahla a bit ago. Told me some things I?m not sure I was ready to hear. The Bartender faces Drake again, and puts his drink down on the counter before making a face. Bartender: What?s that old goat telling you now? Trying to get you to run off on some fool adventure to get you killed like Link? Ever since news of Link?s defeat came, some peoples? thoughts of Sahasrahla had become less than merry. Drake knew it wasn?t his fault that Link had failed. On the contrary, Sahasrahla had done everything he could to help the young hero along. He had even managed to guide him to the Master Sword, which he recovered and used. It was said that only one of pure heart could wield that mighty blade, which Link did, proving him to be a hero, if not the Legendary Hero. Mumbling a reply too low to hear, Drake gets up from the bar with his drink and walks to an unoccupied table to sit down and clear his mind. He sits, sipping his ale, trying to sort out the multitude of thoughts raging through his brain.
Mitch
The forest was dead to him. Mithioth knew he'd never get anywhere just standing around, watching his poor forest die. His poor forest, the one that sheltered him and grew him. His poor, poor, forest. He hastily tore out a small carrying pack, and stuffed what little possesions of importance he had into it. This was it, he was leaving. He'd had enough of this, he needed to know what was going on. After grabbing his scattered possesions from his small and humble hut, he quickly trodded out, placing the pack upon his shoulders. He sloped back a bit as he walked, now encumbered with his weighted possesions. And as he sadly walked out of his wonderful, wonderful, forest, he almost cried. It was very much for him, leaving his sheltered home, his beautiful forest. Very hard. And when he came to the end of his forest, he stopped, his face stricken, his eyes almost watered down with loss. He looked at those sad trees, those dull, dilapidated ruinations of bark, timber, leaves, and lost beauty. His heart seemed as if it would tumble out from his body, and lie there, dead, lost, forgotten. He didn't want to leave, he loved this forest. Even as it had slowly died, even as it was now just a twisted vision of what it once was, he still loved it, he still felt safe here. He looked at the ground, trying not to cry, and set off on his sad, slow way to Kakiriko Village.
GinnyLyn
Cold. She couldn't shiver. She couldn't move. So very cold. She could see. She could hear. But she couldn't move. The creatures of the frozen domain slipped past her crystal prison, taking no notice. And why should they? The Fourth Descendant had been locked away in the Dark World for over four years now. Not that she was aware of that. All she knew was that she was cold. It was getting to the point of feeling like she was not apart of this world that existed outside of the shimmering crystal. No, she was just some lost spirit, trapped, ever watching, never interacting. But if the creatures that dwelt here were any indication of the world's inhabitants, perhaps she did not want to be a part of it. How long had she been asleep? Was this how it had always been? Surely she had had some sort of purpose, greater than being trapped. Trapped. She was trapped? She tried to move. Yes...if I cannot move, then I am trapped. Something less of despair, but more like resigned acceptance, moved back into her still heart, and she was about to let herself remain lost and forgotten in this crystal. But no! There had to be more to it! She could slightly remember...something akin to dreams and memories...faint, whispering of lost time, forgotten feelings. The splash of clear water, warmed by the sun. The refreshing, startling feel of chilled water in the wintertime. The water, glimmering softly under the light of night. The crystal was also glimmering...wavering...she thought she could move a finger. Slowly, carefully, as if almost afraid she would be mistaken, she tried to stretch. Her bones creaked slightly, her muscles complained from lack of usage, but...she was moving! The crystal shone like melting ice, shrinking from her, freeing her limbs, pooling around her feet, then vanishing. She stretched once more, suddenly overjoyed by her ability to just move. Her brain slowly, almost grudgingly, began to work again, her survival skills kicking in. Kholdstare was nowhere to be seen. His little icy minions were also missing, strangley enough. Had she been rescued? She looked around, but saw no one. At this point, her temper was beginning to thaw out as well. "What in the name of Nayru is going ON!?" she hollered. The frozen cavern walls reflected the echoes back at her, almost mockingly. She almost ran to beat on one, when she stopped...stared at her reflection. Blue. Like the ice. Webbed fingers and toes, gills in some profusion. A symbol around her neck--she touched it for a moment, as it named itself. The Crest of the Zoras. Zora. "I'm a Zora...I'm...I'm...SeFai Aquamentus..." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Odd for a beginning, but I kinda like this kind of introduction and character development. ^_^
Deedlit
Elsyan gathered what few possessions she had left from her small cotage. She couldn't bear living here any longer. Ever since her brother Nakuro had disappeared three years ago, their house seemed to become more dreary and gloomy, along with the forest outside. It was last night that Elsyan decided that she would search for Nakuro, even if it meant searching all of Hyrule and Dark World. Elsyan sighed as she looked around before she left. With her brother gone, there was nothing left here for her, but she did feel a bit reluctant to leave her home. After she had put her few supplies into her pack, she pulled on her cloak and opened the door. She was almost blown back inside because of the wind! Pulling the cloak closer around her, she gritted her teeth against the driving rain and slowly walked out into the storm. At this rate, it would take a while before she reached Kakariko Village. OOC: Here's my character's pic again.
PiroMunkie
Under the ominous clouds of the blackened sky over Skull Woods in the Dark World, the dead, dry, and darkened leaves whispered of the presence of a being. A larger metallic arrow pierced through the brush connected to a long chain. It drove itself into the lower branches of the giant trees. The chain pulled taught as it dragged a figure behind it up to those branches. The already poor light, and even darker shadows hid the identity of this figure. It crouched low as it removed the anchor of the chain from the wood of the tree. Once the disturbance was removed, the tree seemed to patch itself over as a person would if they acquired a cut. The figure paid not attention to this, it had seen it enough times that it had become commonplace. Instead, it peered silently down at the shaded path below. The sound of the dry dirt being scratched and a disgusting breathing could be heard below. In the darkness, a rather large monster could be seen. One gaint eye stood out in the blackness. The creature was easily three times the size of the figure in the tree above it. The creature moved along slowly surveying the area as if it knew something was around. The figure in the tree remained like stone. Silent and unmoving. The monster came right below the branch that the figure was present on. It, the figure, slowly reached to its side where a mighty blade was strapped. Once it had it in hand, it reach to its side with the other hand and grabbed an indentical blade. It positioned itself for ambush and waited for the right moment. Off in the distance ahead of the creature, bird-like critters fluttered in the trees. The monster's one eyeshot forward in attention trying to see clearly through the shadows. From above a silhouette dropped from a tree branch landing directly on the creature above its eyes. The monster, taken by surprise, raised itself wildly in the air while the figure secured itself to the monster with its legs. The figure lifted its twin blades high overhead, and when the creature came back down to the ground the figure used that momentum, plus its own power, to bring the blades down upon the creature piercing them both into the eye of it. The monster screamed a deathly scream as it reared its body into the air once more. The figure leaped forward off of the creature. It flew through the air with grace tucking itself into a flip as it removed a bow from its back. It landed firmly on the ground and drew a single arrow in the string of the bow. The monster crashed to the ground as one of the blades fell out. The figure released the bow string sending the arrow toward the creature. It missed, hitting it in the monster in the leg, which did not even phase it. The figure retreated as the creature advanced slowly. Again, it pulled back another arrow and released it. The monster let loose another deafening scream as the arrow drove deeply into its eye. The figure took advantage of the creature being distracted and rolled under it grabbing its blade. The monster recovered from the pain and peered under itself only to see the figure charging it and the blade being forced into its eye once more. The creature could not take anymore, it screamed once more lifting its body high into the air as the figure ran for cover. The monster smashed violently and uncontrollably to the ground. Its legs strewn about. The entire creature was lifeless. The figure emerged from the woods onto the beaten dirt path. It approached the monster with little caution. It grabbed the the twin scimitars and jerked them out of the eye. The creature flinched as its nerves we not yet fully dead. The figure then removed its arrows from the eye and leg, putting them back in the quiver strapped to the figures back. The figure then spoke to the dead monster, the voice distinctly feminine. ---: Just like many Ghomas before you, you put up a decent fight; but also just like many Ghomas before you, you perished at the hands of Voleur. The lady chuckled to herself as she removed one of her scimitars again, and climbed upon the Ghoma and drove the blade forcefully into its back. Voluer: I hate having to kill your kind, you are not good for much. Very little of you is worth eating, but your strong shells do make good protection. A majority of my shelter is made out of the shells of your kind. Voleur cut open an area in the Ghomas back and reached inside. She pulled out a odd shaped, squishy, yet dry piece of the Ghoma's insides. She smelled it and nodded in approvement. She continued to remove different parts from the ghoma and set them down on the back of the creature as she dropped down to its side. She hacked at one of its legs until it fell from the body. She then removed a lot of muscle from the inside before she pulled out a solitary chunk of Ghoma meat. She then moved down to the end of the leg and with a single chop of her scimitar, cut off the one claw that was present there. She pocketed the claw and went back to the meat from the leg and skewered it with her scimitar. She hopped up onto its back and skewered the rest of the insides she had pulled out before that. Voleur jumped down and darted off into the woods. It was not long before she arrived at an edge to a cliff. Down below, against the wall of the cliff, was a small but violent stream of the darkened water of this world. On a decently sized beach of coarse dirt and stone, was a rather well constructed hut. From its structural detail, it was evident that much time had been put forward in creating it. It even had a small chimney made from a hollowed out leg of a Ghoma. A few paces from the shelter was a single dead tree. Voleur stood on the cliff edge and removed her longshot aiming it near the base of the tree. She fired the anchor and chain and hit the tree dead on. The chain pulled tight and pulled her down to it. When she came to the tree she put her feet forward and hit the tree. She kicked off immediately, pulling out the anchor from the wood, and landed on the rough ground. She hooked her longshot to its clip on the back of her waist and walked into her shelter. She already had a fire going, as she usually did. The smoke had a tendency to ward off any monsters that might find their way to her shelter. Every so often she would find small Floormasters hiding about, but she was soon to disposed of them. She set a large pan over the flames and pulled the insides from the Ghoma off her blade and into the pan. Voleur then tossed the claw into a pile of other Ghoma claws she had removed from each creature of that sort she had killed. She moved to her bed which was merely a large piece of cloth filled with her own hair that she had cut as it grew. Resting her eyes with thoughts of getting out of this place racing through her mind.
Shy
"Never forget who you are, and never lose your place in the world." My mentor, Casper, was always giving me great bits of advice like that. He thinks that if a person could live in harmony with other creatures, then they would have a happy and fulfilling life. Well, I have been trying. Boy have I been trying, but I think that I have already lost my place in the world, just three days after leaving my home to search for my parents. Or more correctly, I'm lost. I have no idea where I am, and I have no way of finding out. "Let nature be your guide." By using the stars as my guide, I should have been able to find my way to the Goron village. But things did not turn out that way, and I am beginning to think that I might have had the North Star confused with one of the 10 million other dots in the sky. In either case, I have been moving deeper and deeper into the forest. This does not look good at all. If only I had learned some sort of location spell, or something involving teleportation -- but most of my magic involved control over the elements. My supply of food is running low as well. Now I know why they call them the "Lost Woods". I trudged through shrubs for hours until I came across a small, reflective pond. The few rays of sunlight that escaped through the forest's canopy glistened against the clear water. A pair of doves were perched on a branch in the distance, and I quietly sat down, trying not to disturb them. I removed the leather strap from around my shoulder and set it onto the ground while I moved my head towards the water so that I could get a drink. When I saw myself in pond's reflection I sighed. My traveling had taken its toll on me, and my face was covered with dirt. I then thought that if I ever wanted acceptance by the Gorons, I should not bother to worry about a little dirt. My reflection in the pond suddenly vanished, and was replaced with the image of a burning village. The two doves flew away once the mysterious and terrifying picture materialized, and I was taken back by it myself. This was not a regular Hyrulian Village, this was a Goron village. I could see the bodies of fallen Goron warriors strewn across the ground while the city itself burned with an supernatural intensity. This was a magical fire, I could recognize it because of my training with Casper. But who was showing me this?

Deedlit
Elsyan was bent over double as she struggled against the gale. She stopped for a moment and looked up. She could see the lights from Kakariko Village just up ahead! But in the lights' dim rays, she could see someone lying on the ground. Elsyan hurried over to the comatose figure as fast as she could against the wind. As she drew closer, she noticed that he was bleeding badly. Elsyan: "You're wounded! Come on. We need to get you to Kakariko Village." The person groaned as Elsyan helped him to sit up. He seemed to be gradually waking up, at least. Just as she was helping him to stand up, a gust of wind nearly knocked them both down. They regained their footing, and after about fifteen minutes of struggling against the storm, they finally arrived at Kakariko Village.
GinnyLyn
The Zora Sage SeFai Aquamentus slowly shoved herself from the ice wall and forced her shaking legs to walk. She took a few steps away from the wall (her webbed feet naturally being able to grip ice)...then fell when her knees buckled under her. She cursed under her breath and gripped the Zora pendant so hard that it bit sharply into her right palm. She bit her lower lip, fought to stand again, placed one foot in front of the other. Something squeaked in the dark cavern, and SeFai, or Fai for short, froze. Her mind was sluggish and muddled, and failed to remember her ability to defend herself. The squeaking grew loudly and something leathery flapped past her. Stifling a shriek, Fai swatted at it and managed to slap the offending creature in its small, furry stomach. The Keese retaliated by sinking its tiny fangs into her smoothly scaled hand. Fai's eyes flew open, and she pulsed with intense energy. A moment later, the Keese clattered to the floor, frozen solid. Fai panted slightly from the unexpected exhertion and terror, and wondered how she managed to defend herself. Rubbing the bite wound, she nudged the frozen bat with a foot, and made a face. Her hands glowed, and she found that her bite wound was now healed. "I'm just full of surprises, aren't I?" she wondered at herself. "I wonder who I am. More importantly, how I can get out of here so I can stay...whoever I am." A nearby sconce held a guttering torch. Fai carefully withdrew it and made sure not to burn herself. She held it high, to get a good look at the area around her. To her surprise, she found a set of bow and arrows, a bomb bag with a few bombs, and a bottle with a fish in it (?). She strapped the quiver's belt around her, startled to find it was a perfect fit (well, maybe a bit snug), and hung the bomb bag and the bottle by their strings from the belt. Rubbing the Zora pendant for good luck, she gripped the torch and left the giant ice cavern that was once her prison. An hour later found Fai, none the worse for wear during her sojourn through the Ice Palace, almost at the exit. She was ready to find out how the world had changed in her absence. "AAARRROOOOOO!" "Oh, drown it all!" Fai swore as the White Wolfos caught her off guard. Its red eyes glowed menacingly as it swung at her. Fai held her arms up to protect herself and cried out as the claws tore into her long fins. "Stupid idea, Wolfy!" she screamed as she felt herself pulse again. She saw herself thrust a palm out, screamed the word "Freeze!" and stood back. The Wolfos blinked frost from its nose and growled in a mocking way. Its tongue lolled around its red mouth, and it grinned evilly at her. Fai groped wildly for her bow and arrows, and yelled as she burned her hands. She dropped the burning torch, and it fizzled out against the ice floor; the Wolfos backed away from the hissing noise. Fai quickly shot an arrow, which pierced the Wolfos in one of its forepaws. Howling in rage, it snapped, but made no move to come forward. The torch still fizzled at Fai's feet; thinking quickly, she thrust the end of a new arrow into the torch and prayed frantically that there was still a spark to catch fire. The Wolfos snapped the arrow out of its paw, and, sensing no immediate retaliation from its prey, stalked toward her. "Oh my Din, please catch, please!" Fai whispered frantically. The White Wolfos leapt at her-- --the arrow suddenly lit-- --it sped toward the wolf's unprotected stomach-- --and Fai was buried in white, dead weight, the deadly teeth of the monster a few inches from her neck. Shrugging the creature off with some difficulty, Fai stumbled toward the exit. The last hour had been some sort of nightmare, dark and surreal. Nonetheless, she could tell that the dungeon rested upon a large lake; perhaps Lake Hylia? Fai blinked at the name, wondering how that could help her. Was Lake Hylia her home? Well, no...it didn't feel that way...but...she knew that if she could just get outside, just to slip into the cool, clear water, she would be ok. She saw blue sky and green ground in her mind's eye; fish swimming past her in the water, large trees providing ample shade from a warm sun, birds singing above her as she dried off. Fai sighed at the relaxing thought. Just a little farther, a few more steps and she would be able to glide beneath the waves, between the sun's rays that would filter down toward the bottom of the Lake, healing her wounds and-- She was unprepared for the sight that greeted her eyes. The Ice Palace around her was thoroughly covered in the stuff, outside and in; hence its name. The frozen parts reached out from the middle of the lake, becoming smaller bits of ice floes farther out. Between the ice, the water was far from--it was a sickly green, more swampy than anything; occasionally, air broke through in a stomach wrenching bubble. Harsh sticks of swamp reed, impervious to cold, thrust up from the surface, hardly moving in the wind. The shoreline, a ways off, furthered to sicken her heart. The ground was bare, with weak, yellow grass hardly covering parts of it. Ghastly trees clutched at the darkened sky with bare branches, ravens--the death bird--sitting between the bows. A small skeleton, picked clean of its carcass, rested at the Lake's edge, a pitiful creature that had died of either thirst, or the "water". Full of despair, Fai sank to her knees and sobbed.
Charles
Walk with me through this valley I pray that you take my hand There is a storm brewing above me And below me nothing but quicksand The harder I try to get out The faster I seem to sink I have nothing else to hold on to As I fall to my knees and weep However once I stop my struggle Relax and begin to breathe Can I then see the possibilities Of climbing out with ease I eagerly accept the outstretched hand To which I turned to ask for help And let myself lean on He Who watched me while I wept With each step the ground feels stronger And the sky is beginning to clear Both my heart and soul feel lighter The moment you whispered I had nothing to fear... Sam rubbed her eyes, and groaned, wrapped in the ambiance of her forest surroundings. Was it morning already? A thin veil of twilight vapor crept about the ground, it coiled around shivering tree trunks like a serpent. Swift flowing winds cradled the young girl's droopy head, coaxing her to rise. Night had fled the land, frightened by morning's righteous gaze. C'mon, get up! June tugged at the young dreamer's sleeve, tearing her from the arms of sleep. It's morning, it's morning, rise and shine! It's morning milady, it's morning, nightfall has come and gone! Samantha absently reached for her hat with heavy eyelids, aimlessly patting nearby ground. But, her blind hands found her left boot instead. Sighing, her fairy guardian removed the boot and zipped behind Sam. When she reappeared, it was over Sam's head. June fell and rose, straining under the weight of the floppy hat. With a tiny grunt, she dropped the cloth atop her friend's brow, a messy nest of tangled hair. Now then, are we prepared? Shall we continue our journey? --Sam? --Sam? --Sam?!! Her hands on her hips, June blew a stray strand of hair from her eyes and pouted with frustration. Samantha's snoring scared a nearby flock of birds who, in turn, fluttered away. How could this girl become a heroine, if she couldn't wake up? Last night's storm had caused the small Kokirian much anxiety. Sam would never admit it, but it had frightened her. The girl did not fear shadows, for shadows only meant there was a light shining somewhere near by. It was the noise. Trees had crackled and splintered as intense light streaked across the sky and touched earth. Torrents of mist and spray swelled in the wailing winds, finding its way into her eyes, nose, mouth and ears. Thunder boomed and popped like an explosive, it had wrenched numerous whimpers from Samantha. When she finally gave into sleep, darkness had almost melted away. Now, June darted back and forth. Yelling didn't stir her, noise could not reach the girl. Desperately, she buried her heel into Samantha's eyebrow and pulled at her eyelashes like window blinds. Her eyelids would not budge. Utterly exhausted, June sat atop Sam's head, her legs crossed, her chin resting in her palm. Two squirrels wrestled in a nearby pile of leaves, rustling the fallen vegetation. All at once, Samantha rose startled, sending June into a nearby puddle of mud. Grogginess had left her. "Who goes there," she started, clutching her boomerang. The Vampire: Ed
**OOC: This RP shows what happened in the past, so this has all ready happened long before Link was even born. Just in case people get confused by certain things.** Centuries ago.... Driven with pure rage by the death of his father, a Knight of Hyrule Idris Bijan, at the hands of Ganondorf while attempting to keep him from the Triforce. Sairo, with a deep thirst for revenge acted foolishly and went with his father's sword in hand to put an end to Ganondorf's life. During the Imprisonment War Sairo snuck up behind Ganondorf with hopes of running him through, however Ganondorf was no fool and was well aware of Sairo's presence. As Sairo attacked Ganondorf turned to intercept him, their blades sparked furiously against each other, a small push caused Ganondorf's blade to slice the flesh on the left side of Sairo's face. Full of rage, he did not back down even with the newly acquired battle scar. The blood on Sairo's face began to seep into his eyes blinding him, and throwing his concentration off. Realizing this Ganondorf took advantage and over powered Sairo pushing him back. As Sairo staggered back he felt a sharp pain in his left wrist, looking down through his crimson vision he could see that he had lost his left hand from an attack while he was blinded. The pain was like a delayed reaction, he took a few moments to collapse on his knees in agony. Sairo looked at his blood stump staining the ground under them red, he bowed his head thinking the end was at hand for him. However, it was at this very moment the Seven Wise Men began to seal the Dark World, then known as the Golden Land, up once again, Ganondorf became sealed away in the Golden Land, as was Sairo. Sairo blacked out from the pain, and blood he had lost from his severed hand suffered in the short skirmish with Ganondorf. When he awoke he seemed to be falling down a long dark tunnel, he could barley see his hands in front of his face. Looking he could see his left hand once again intact, his mind wandered and filled with confusion. Then his senses returned to him with worry of what would happen when, and if he would reach the bottom, if there even was a bottom to this seemingly endless dark pitfall. As he plummeted through the darkness, scenes of Ganondorf slaying his father began appear before him, it was an illusion, a mirage, of some sort. Still falling more scenes played out before him, he could see himself now as his left hand was cut clean from his wrist. Now looking towards his hands again, Sairo's left hand was missing once more with the bloody stump remaining. His mind could not comprehend the events that were unfolding before his very eyes, just then he hit the blackness beneath him and blacked out again. Suddenly, he awoke once more quickly sitting up he immediately noticed changes in the surroundings. There was no long dark tunnel, but rather a small cavern with a table in the far right corner as were a couple chairs. Looking down Sairo found himself sitting up in a bed, his shirt removed with his ribs bandaged up, and his left wrist too was bandaged where his hand use to be. Sairo's face felt sore, lifting his hand too his face he ran his finger over the scar given to him by Ganondorf. He looked around the room, but seen no one. Sairo inched his way to the edge of the bed, and sat there for moment thinking of the events that had occurred only moments, or so he though, ago. Slowly, Sairo got to his feet his body ached but seemed to pain him less then he had expected it too. Just as he stood straight up, a voice spoke out to him "Ah! Finally, you've awaken. Eh, lad?" Looking behind him now, Sairo could see an old man standing by a door way. Sairo shook his head, and spoke himself. "Where am I? What has happened to Ganon?" Sairo asked with great concern. The old man laughed a bit, then replied. "Ganon, eh? I haven't seen anyone else but you. You've been asleep for two weeks now. We are on Death Mountain." "Death Mountain? I though I was sealed in the Golden Land along with Ganon, how am I here?" Sairo ask in confusion. The old man laughed again tapping his cane on the floor. "What's so funny, old man?" question Sairo in an angered manner. "Do not mind me, lad. It's not often that I get visitors up, and especially not ones from the other world." The old man said with a grin. Sairo's eyes grew wide, and then he spoke again. "The other world? What do you mean?" "Well, sit down and I'll tell you." The old man grabbed a chair, and sat down besides Sairo as he took a seat at the table. "You see this world is but a mirrored image of your world. You ARE in the Golden Land, as you call it. It's been my home for centuries now. You do not age here, so as long as you can avoid the monsters you're basically immortal here." Sairo was shocked to hear this information, but only thought about killing Ganondorf at this point. Sairo had lost his concentration, and could no longer hear the old man's ramblings. Suddenly, a loud metallic ring is heard as the old man suddenly dropped a sack containing something in front of Sairo. He attention was brought back to the old geezer, Sairo was obvious angry about the sudden scare he was given but before he could say anything the old man points at the sack. Sairo looks down at the sack, and with his right hand slowly stuck his hand in it feeling cold steel. Sairo removes the contents of the sack to find that he is holding a golden gauntlet in his hand, but Sairo's looks at the old man feeling insulted because it was made for a left hand. "Is this some sort of joke, old man?" Sairo hissed as he slammed down on the wooden table, the old man just grins again before speaking. "It is for you, lad. That gauntlet you see there before you is known as the Titan's Mitt, it gives it's wearer the ability to lift large objects usually impossible to lift by human hands." "While that IS amazing, I still find it in bad taste that you would offer it to me. I have no hand to put it on. Or haven't you noticed it was meant for the left hand?" Sairo said a bit disappointed with the old man. "I am a man of many talents, and I dabble in some magic. Nothing powerful, but it'll be something you can appreciate. I have cast a spell on that gauntlet, a spell, until now, I could never test out." The old man said grinning proudly at this opportunity. "What are you talking about?" Sairo asked curiously. The old man motioned towards the gauntlet as he simply answered with "Put it on you left wrist." Sairo just stared at the old man puzzled, but did as he was told. As he put the gauntlet on his arm he felt a strange tingling in his arm, suddenly the gauntlet molded itself to fit Sairo's wrist. A slight pinch is felt as the gauntlet binds itself to Sairo's flesh. Sairo panicked a bit, but suddenly calmed down when he began to move the gauntlet as if it was his real hand. Sairo's eyes grew wide, and he held his new hand up wiggling the fingers about. Suddenly, Sairo looks at the old man laughing and saying "It's a success!" Sairo was in disbelief, and amazed with the old man's enchanted gauntlet. It lacked the warmth, and sense of feeling that a normal hand would have, but he wasn't about to complain. Several months pass.... Sairo spent much of his time searching for Ganondorf, and the rest of the time helping the old man with random choirs and such. He had not seen hide, nor hair of Ganondorf in all of those long months but he refused to give up. He was at a dead end now, he had searched a lost the whole Dark World yet seen nothing of Ganondorf. But one day out of the blue, a tower was erected atop Death Mountain. It stretched to the heavens, and had a dark erie vibe to it. He knew there he would find whom he had been in search off, this was it Sairo thought to himself 'Ganon, must die.' Sairo left the old man, and traveled to Ganon's Tower at the peak of Death Mountain. His travel was long, and not without peril. Along the way he had engaged in much combat, with monsters of the Dark World. He grew tired, but he pressed on even when his body wanted to quit on him. Finally, there he was standing before Ganon's Tower he suddenly felt a surge of energy feeling that Ganondorf was close, and he realized he would soon fulfill his quest for revenge. Battling through the dark, and treacherous halls of Ganon's Tower Sairo made it to the highest chamber with in. He stood before Ganondorf's thrown, empty with no sign of Ganondorf Sairo screamed out in anger. "GANON! COME OUT YOU SNAKE! I'LL HAVE MY REVENGE FOR BOTH MY FATHER'S DEATH, AND THE HAND YOU TOOK FROM ME!" Sairo's voice echoed through the tower, from the very top to the dungeons far below the surface of the earth. Suddenly, laugher is heard and Ganondorf emerges from the shadows. Sairo turns facing Ganondorf with his father's blade in hand, before he could move Ganondorf spoke. "Your father? Ah, yes. I remember now. That weakling who attempted to keep me from my destiny, the Triforce. You are just like him. Look at you, I've barely put any effort in fighting you and yet I've taken your hand and scarred your face. Face it, you're no match for the king of thieves." Ganondorf's sinister voice echoes through the room further enraging Sairo as the words seemed to keep repeating themselves. "I will not show mercy for your ignorance. My father was a great man, and you....you are just SCUM!" Sairo screamed in anger before charging. Ganondorf grinned as he drew his sword, the two clashed much like before only this time Sairo did not allow his rare to blind him. Ganondorf attempts to push his blade against Sairo's face once more attempting to react their previous battle. Sairo wisely jumped back dodging the attack, Ganondorf's just laughed as he said "You're learning." The battle this time was much longer, they fought all over Ganondorf's thrown room but eventually they took it to the roof. On top of the tower the battle continued, both refusing to give in to the other. Finally, thanks to Sairo's gauntlet hand he was able to backhand Ganondorf's sword away and out of his hand. The blade was hurled off the side of the tower and fell to the earth far below. Sairo took a step back holding the Bronislaw in front of Ganondorf's angered face. Sairo smiled slightly, one of the few times in months, then spoke. "Looks like I will finally put an end to you once, and for all. I rather have done this own my own soil for all to take pleasure in, but it's better it's happening this way then not at all. I can only hope my father is watching us at this moment, I want him to watch me run you through." Sairo voice was full of a joyful, yet smug, tone as he taunted Ganondorf. Ganondorf suddenly smiled, and replied. "Foolish, boy. You can't beat the all mighty Ganon. There is much you need to learn about fighting. You are good ate fencing, dueling, and things of that nature. But that isn't true fighting. Fighting is doing whatever it takes to win, and I always do whatever it takes to win." Ganondorf said with a sinister look in his eyes. Ganondorf suddenly extended his arm, and a dagger shot forth from his sleeve. Sairo was caught off guard, but managed to dodge being stabbed by it. But the blade nicked Sairo's neck, the cut wasn't deep enough to do serious damage, however it made Sairo feel dizzy. Sairo stumbled back holding his neck as Ganondorf removed another dagger from his boot, Ganondorf slowly approached Sairo as he spoke. "Fool, I'm prepared for anything that may happen in battle. Your father fell for that very trick as well, it shows you two are both very much stupid as well as weak. The dagger was laced with a poison that would cause it's victim to fall into a deep sleep, I am unsure of how long it the coma lasts, but I've never had anyone fall asleep on me. I usually kill them before they pass out, like I am about to do to you." Ganondorf's said confidently as he stalked Sairo stumbling about the roof top. Just as Ganondorf was about to move in for the kill, Sairo stumbled back and fell off the backside of the tower. Sairo fell as he passed out his hand still tightly clutching his father's sword, crashing into the ocean below Sairo disappears from view under the water. Ganondorf laughs from about, and simply says "Well, that's the last of him." Ganondorf returns to his thrown as he simply wipes him mind of the recent events, and goes back to thinking of a way to escape the Dark World, and get back into the Light World. Meanwhile at the base of Death Mountain... Sairo had managed to survive the fall, but still was asleep. Luckily his body washed ashore, and some approaches him from a nearby town... Desbreko
Drake sat, thinking. In his mind, it felt as though hours has passed, though really, it had only been twenty or so minutes. That?s when something finally managed to pull him from his thoughts. A beautiful girl had come out of the back room of the tavern, and was talking with the Bartender. Drake had seen this girl many times before, and knew her to be the Bartender?s daughter, Lalia. He marveled at her long, shimmering hair, and her gentle blue eyes, which were only made all the more beautiful by her pale, blue dress. Drake had always been too shy to ever really talk to her, and now, it seemed to be too late. Drake had made up his mind; he would leave Kakariko Village in the morning, on the quest given him by Sahasrahla. However, he would go alone, against Sahasrahla?s wishes. He would not be able to bear bringing his friends along to die with him, should he fail. Drake realized he was staring, and quickly looked away, just as Lalia looked over in his direction. Now you?ve done it. Gone and made a fool of yourself. Drake sighs, before taking another sip of his ale. Not that it matters, I suppose. I?ll be far away from here this time tomorrow, with this life behind me. Drake lets out another long, quiet sigh, as he resigns himself to what he knows he must do. Sahasrahla had said that the Master Sword was being kept deep in the dungeons of Agahnim?s Castle, so that would be his first main goal. How am I ever going to get in there alive, and without being a prisoner, though? Somehow I doubt the soldiers are just going to let me waltz in there and take the one sword that can defeat their leader. I?d have to be invisible, if I were to have any chance at? And then something in his mind popped, like a light switch being turned on. That?s it! Invisible! Drake recalls hearing stories about a Magic Cape being hidden away long ago under the old king?s grave. Magic Capes could turn one invisible, even in the brightest of light. That?s it, then. I?ll set off for the Graveyard, tomorrow at dawn. With a set goal in mind, Drake was starting to feel a little more confident. Maybe he could retrieve the Master Sword after all. Maybe he really was the Legendary Hero. Maybe he would even find that Silver Arrow that Sahasrahla had spoken of, and defeat Ganon, high in his tower atop Death Mountain, in the Dark World. Drake stood up, having finished his ale, and walked to the counter to return the mug and pay for the drink. Walking up to the counter with a little more bounce in his step than when he arrived, and set the mug down on the bar along with a few Rupees as payment. Then he noticed Lalia again, standing next to her father, smiling at him. He felt his stomach bunch up and his mind start to panic with his nervousness. What should I do? Should I say something? Should I just smile back and leave? Smile! Yes! At least smile! Brave as he was in battle, all the courage in the world couldn?t have helped him in that moment. He smiled back, uncertainly, and felt the panic subside just a little bit.
Boba Fett
Rokar walked silently through the small forest that lay on the other side of the river from Kakariko Village. He made his way south, down through the tall trees towards the edge of the river that separated the forest and the rest of the outside world, which was now in a state of utter chaos, from the peaceful inhabitants of the village. He knew of that chaos all too well, having tried to hide from it in the most uninhabitable regions of the dark world as a hermit for so many years. But even in the most remote parts of the light and dark worlds, evil was growing. Growing faster than ever before by what he had seen. Something had to be done, soon? He reached the end of the forest and walked down a sloping hill before turning left towards the village. Then he noticed that the weather had taken a turn for the worst. Rain was falling in torrents, and the wind was howling like a wounded monster. He must not have noticed it in the forest because of the tree's protection from the elements. There was a trail here, and Rokar suddenly felt uncomfortable. What if he didn?t belong here anymore? He had left so long ago nobody would remember him, would they? There was only one way to find out. He walked into town, and headed for the Inn, where he knew he could find shelter for the night. He pulled out a pouch of ancient coins from his belt and looked through them. Enough for two, maybe three days of food and shelter. Then it hit him, a horrible thought. What if he couldn?t talk? He hadn?t spoken to anyone for least four years. He stopped in the middle of the street, the wind howling all around him. Rokar begins to talk to himself in a scratchy dry voice that he hasn?t used in a long time. Gradually his speech returns to normal and he continues down the cobblestone road towards the Inn. He enters the Inn less than a minute later and sits down in the far corner after taking off his soaked traveling cloak. He only notices two other people in the bar. A boy and girl, both looked in their late teens?
PiroMunkie
Voleur rose from her rest when her Ghoma meat settled to a slow and steady sizzle. She lifted the pan away from the flames and dumped the contents onto a flat, clean piece of driftwood that rested on a faded, worn, and warped wooden table. Setting the pan down at the other end of the table, Voleur took her own solitary seat. She drew an arrow from the quiver which was now slung across the back of her hand-made chair, and stabbed it into a piece of the Ghoma meat she removed from the leg. The heat of the flame had changed it into a brownish-orange color from its orginal black. All of the impurities had been scorched off. Voleur bit into the succulent piece of meat. It was not the best thing in the world, but it what she most often found. She smiled to herself at a faintly familiar taste that reminded her of the Light World.. Voleur: Tastes like Cucco... She soon finished off the leg meat from the Ghoma and moved to the parts she removed from its back. Each had a somewhat sweet taste to it. Much like when you cook an onion. When she finished her meal, she leaned back in her chair with her hands over her bare stomach. She had been well satiated. Voleur released a contented sigh and stood up from her chair and moved outside. She extracted her scimitars, both of which were slightly stained from the battle, and dipped the blades in the black water. Steam began to rise from the liquid around the blade as the puss and fluid from the Ghoma's eye was removed from the metal. Voleur pulled the blades from the water, each was now lusterous as they glimmered in what little light there was. The dead leaves in the trees above rattled with the movement on an intruder. Voleur snapped her attention upward with a scimitar in hand. All was silent, though a few leaves fell to the ground. Her eyes darted around looking for any sign of anything. A slight reflection of a thing light caught her eye. Looking closer, it was a thin silver strand up high in the trees. She looked around the strand and faintly saw more... like it was... a web. Instinctively, Voleur rolled in a backwards somersault as a Deeler dropped right down into the spot of which she standing. Voleur breathed heavily. She had been caught off guard by a Deeler once before, and it was not pretty. She nearly died from their poison. The large, spider-like creature hung from its strand as both just looked at the other. The Deeler clipped is thread and dropped to the ground advancing to attack Voleur. She hated dealing with these monsters. They were far to clever and agile for an easy battle. A small thud was heard behind her. Voleur glanced back only to find another Deeler stalking her. Quickly, she drew her other scimitar in hand, slowly retreating to her shelter as the creatures approached her. Behind the two, more smaller Deelers dropped from above. When they had all stopped coming there were about ten to fifteen in count. Now only within several paces of her shelter, she turned into a dead sprint clearing the threshold and slamming the door shut behind her. A few pounds pushed against the door as some Deelers jumped at it. She moved back further into her shelter as the monsters relentlessly pushed against her door. She knew she was outnumbered and that escape was nearly impossible. She backed up against the far wall, against something soft. She rotated her head to see what it was... a cape. The cape! The one given to her before she was sent off into the Desert of Mystery in the Light World all those years ago. The Magic Cape. It held the power to make its user invisible. She jumped up from the wall in glee and removed the cape from its hook. Before putting it on, she gathered up all her belongings: her quiver and arrows, her scimitars, her longshot, and her bow. She wore everything else. Voleur then draped the the cape over herself, becoming invisible to the eye. Before she left she peeked out a small peephole in one of her walls. The number of Deelers had dramatically increased. There was almost no walking space left on the ground. She knew once she left the Deelers would go inside her shelter and tear it to pieces looking for her. Never before had she been confronted like this. It seemed she would have to find a new place to stay, but she was not going down without a fight. She moved to her fire and kicked it swiftly all over the room her bed immediately went up in flames, and she figured that was as good of a catalyst as any. So, at last, she drew in her breath and held it as she charged the door. She broke though it was amazing speed courtesy of her Pegasus Boots. Once the door was busted open, the Deelers flooded through the threshold. As she ran, she stepped on many of the spider-like monsters. In turn, one creature blamed another and they fought each other to the death of one. Voleur jumped the small stream and landed safely on the other side. She turned around still covered by the cape as she watched her shelter go up in a blazing inferno. Many Deelers tried to turn back to get out of it, but too many were also flooding in. Then, the shelter collapsed, trapping a majority of them in the fire. The few creatures that were left ran away. When all was safe, she removed the cape from over her, becoming visible again, and rested for a few minutes. After a while, she stood up and removed her longshot from its clip. She gazed far above the cliffs edge at the trees that lined it. She picked a random one and pulled herself to it. Voleur dropped to the ground, now above where her home once was, and walked solemnly in a random direction kicking at the dirt. In the four years she had spent in this world, the evils finally caught up to her and stripped her of her only means of shelter. She knew now, more than ever, that she needed to find her way out of Skull Woods...
Red
Kiln strolled around Kakariko village in the rain with his Deku shield strappped to his back, considering what to do with his life. He had heard from Drake about the master sword scenario, and was desperate to join his old friend on the quest. Kiln was stared at by Kokiri villagers running into their homes from the rough storm, he was the tallest Kokiri in the village so he wasn't hard to spot. Many wondered why he constantly had his shield strapped to his back. It was of poor quality since he had been given it years before from a kind young man, named Link. Drenched, Kiln decided to make a stop for a drink at the tavern. He hoped to see Drake, as he had been so reclusive since he had heard about his destiny. As Kiln walked into the tavern he removed his hood, shaking off all the collected water. He shook his head, removing the water from his thick hair. As Kiln looked up he saw Drake smiling and staring at Lalia. He approached Drake and tapped him on the shoulder...
GinnyLyn
"FREEZE!" The two, smaller pieces of ice harden into one, larger one, and Fai carefully stepped across it. She continued this process, until she had reached the bare shore. Once there, Fai sank to her knees again, partly from exhaustion, and partly from the despair that still clung to her. What had happened to the world? This dark, rank, polluted world full of death and destruction was not at all like the home she remembered. Then she shuddered as she remembered her prison. Obviously, someone had captured her, someone that felt she was a danger; thus, the reason for the solid crystal she had been "preserved" in. But who? And why? And where the Dark World was she, anyway? ~You would do well to return, Descendant.~ "Who's there?" ~You would displease Ganon by escaping.~ Fai knew that voice, hated that voice. "I'm warning you--!" A hissing chuckle, dripping with sarcasm. ~You cannot hurt me.~ Several eyeballs peered at her from the green grime of the once holy Lake Hylia. Fai cringed back from the edge, nervously shifting her gaze from one eye to the next, frantically groping for her arrows again. ~Too slow,~ the voice hissed in glee as the eyes disappeared beneath the surface. Nevertheless, Fai continued to sight down her arrow, waiting for an iris to show. ~Why do you run?~ "Why was I kept locked up?" she yelled back into the stagnant air. ~It please Ganon.~ "Well, it didn't please me!" The hissing chuckle again. ~Who cares what you want, Descendant?~ "Why do you keep calling me that?!" ~The Descendant doesn't know she's one? Amusing...~ Several eyes peered back at in amazement at her, and Fai shot an arrow into the group. The voice hissed as the tip scratched over the surface of one. ~That did not please me.~ "Tough," Fai snapped back. "I'm leaving now, so stay put." ~And if I don't?~ the voice threatened. The Zora Sage stretched another arrow across her bow. "Then you'll be a sight for sore eyes." The surface broke repeatedly as a multitude of eyes popped up, staring at her from the swamp. ~I doubt you can handle all of me.~ "Try me." The voice hissed sibilantly; suddenly, the ice bits that floated closer to the Ice Palace flew into the air amid green drops of slime as KholdStare erupted from the Lake. "Oh Nayru!" Fai swore under her breath. Kholdstare itself was protected by a cover of ice, rendering her own freeze ability useless against it. Arrows were needed to take care of the smaller eyes, which were already beginning to swarm. ~Come, my dear, back to your statuesque prison. Ganon would not be pleased to find that I let a Descendant escape.~ Fai was frantically firing arrows now, piercing the eyes and watching as they deflated and bubbled into nothingness. One eye rammed into her, knocking her aim off; she mentally berated herself for losing an arrow. It pinged harmlessly off of KholdStare's cover, scratching a minute piece of ice off at surface level. Fai swore again darkly, wondering how she could possibly defeat the monster. The more she shot at the eyes, the more they seemed to come, until Fai was completely out of arrows. She through her bow down in disgust, and reached out for a dead tree, hoping to break a branch off and club the eyes back into the swamp. Her bomb bag shook from her efforts, then fell to the ground, a few bombs scattering about. And lighting up. "As if it couldn't get any worse--!" To keep from being blown up, she hurled the bombs into the swamp, hoping there would be more devestation among Kholdstare and its eyes. Thankfully, there was. Especially when a bomb flew close enough to Kholdstare; it detonated near the surface, widening the nitch the lost arrow had made. KholdStare hissed in anger. ~STOP THIS!~ "I told you not to mess with me!" Fai watched delighted as the eyeballs lessened in number, retreating, then evaporating into bubbly nothingness. The eyes that crawled onto the shore to escape the blasts melted as well; their master was injured, and could not keep them alive. The arrows she had shot into the swamp water reappeared in the evaporated mess; without hesitation, she picked one up (wiping off the eyeball residue), and aimed at KholdStare. "Lights out." The arrow hit dead center. SeFai Aquamentus was already walking away as Kholdstare gave its final hissing scream. ~GANON WILL FIND YOU, DESCENDANT--HE WILL FIND YOU AND KILL YOU!~ The Zora Sage ignored the massive evaporating bubble and moved on, leaving the Ice Palace and its nightmare behind her.
James
A shiny blue orb rolled along the dark wooden floor quietly. Its soft, light-blue surface reflected the contents of the room; a small wooden table in one corner, an old-fashioned dresser, a small bed with an elaborate quilt draped over it...and two small boys. One of them was kneeling down on the hard-wood floor, with one eye squeezed tightly shut and the other concentrating on the tiny blue orb. His untamed black hair somehow gave him an instantly mischevious air; one that, on first appearance, made the village elders highly suspicious of him if anything happened to go wrong. The other boy was a little smaller in size, but no less interesting. His straight blonde hair covered his eyes slightly -- but his wide eyed expression was still visible as he watched a second orb. The second orb was red and was sitting stationery, with the blue orb fast approaching. The blonde haired boy watched with baited breath as the two came closer together. The blue orb snaked its way along the creases in the wooden floor, hugging them closely as it made its final approach. With a light "click" sound, the blue orb bumped into the red orb softly. The click resulted in shrieks of laughter from the dark-haired boy, who hastily scooped up both orbs and placed them in a small goatskin pouch. The blonde haired boy frowned. "Hey, you lost fair and square!", exclaimed Hikaru. He stood up and rest his hands on his hips. "Okay, you know what to do", he prompted. The blonde boy sighed and turned around. Hikaru grinned and quickly stashed the pouch of marbles behind the dresser. "Okay, you can turn around now", said Hikaru. The other boy turned around and rubbed his eyes. "I'm sleepy", he complained. Hikaru nodded and opened the dresser carefully. On the inside was a small sleeping bag (and much like his quilt, it has been embroidered with intricate Hyrulian patterns). Hikaru pulled out the sleeping bag and unfolded it, laying it down on the floor next to his bed. "There", he said. The boy smiled, seemingly forgetting his recent loss. But before he could lay down, the sky outside lit up with brilliant white light. And moments later, a thunderous boom echoed through the village. Hikaru and Calle jumped onto Hikaru's bed and stared out the window. Veins of icy water were cascading down the glass rapidly and beyond the window, very little was visible. The wind had picked up and was so strong that the faint figures of villagers in the street could be seen haunched over, walking into the wind (and trying not to be blown backwards). Hikaru sighed. The last few days had been so boring to him and Calle. Calle had spent several days at Hikaru's house, because his parents were not at home...though Hikaru did not know why they had left in the first place. Still, he had no brothers or sisters. And as such, he welcomed Calle's presence in the small house. Despite the harsh weather outside, the interior of Hikaru's room was warm and pleasant. A small kerosine lamp was sitting on the dresser, glowing brightly. Its warm glow cast a soft yellow light over the wooden room, which made Hikaru and Calle feel safe and happy. After several minutes of examining the goings-on outside the house, both Hikaru and Calle agreed that it was time to sleep. Hikaru carefully turned the lamp off and climbed under his covers. Calle enveloped himself in the warm sleeping bag. And for the rest of the night, the two elven boys both tried their very best to sleep...
GinnyLyn
I refuse to let this RPG die--I like how it is going! :p ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fai struggled along, her legs aching from the never ending walking. She was used to travelling by water but...a glance at a nearby tributary leading back to Swamp Hylia (as she was calling it now) reminded her why she wasn't. Darkness was approaching, and a pair of death birds watched the weak Zora from their perch in a scraggly tree. Her fins were badly torn, and although she had tended them, they were still crusted over from lack of cleaning. She needed clean, clear water... With a gasp of exhaustion, she collapsed against the tree, hitting one of the lower branches. "OW! Watch it!" The death birds cawed in shock, and Fai tumbled backwards, her eyes wide, her items scattering about her. "Who said that?!" The limbs rustled above her, and dead leaves rained down, scratching her lightly. What she had mistaken for two knotholes were actually two seemingly sightless eyes. The branch she had sagged against was the nose and it twitched in irriation. "It's bad enough that I have to put up with those awful, gossipy crows," the tree complained, "but when I get people sitting on my face, it's just TOO MUCH!" "Excuse me--" "You'd think I was punished enough for being a fool for trying to get into the Golden Land and touch the Triforce, but nooooo--" "ExCUSE me--" "WHAT?!" the tree roared back. It rolled its knotholes at her, which Fai found a little unnerving, if not hilarious. "Don't 'WHAT?!' me you ungrateful wood pile reject!" she spat back. "Now listen here, you overgrown guppy--" it started. Fai's eyes flashed and she froze an overhead branch into a frostbitten chunk of ice that shattered at her touch. The tree screamed in anguish and began to whimper. Sap began to squirt from its knotholes. "Oh, for crying out--I mean...oh stop, I didn't hurt you that bad." The tree sniffled. "Do you have any idea how long it took for me to grow that branch. Huh? Do ya?" "Not really." "I don't either...but it reminds me how long I've been stuck here." "Where IS here, anyway?" "The Dark World," the tree answered sadly, peering at the brittle remains of the branch. Fai shuddered. What in Nayru's name was she doing in the Dark World? She remembered bits and pieces of stories she had heard, long ago...none of it was giving her a good feeling. With a name like 'Dark World', why would it? "Well, wouldn't you not like to remember how long you've been here? Maybe it's better that I knocked that branch off." "Oh, shut up, fish." Fai grounded her teeth together, then picked up the bottle that had a fish in it. "THIS--" she thrust the bottle at the tree's knotholes, "--THIS is a fish. I am a ZORA! Got it?" "WATER!" the tree screamed. "Give it to me, GIVE IT TO ME!" It stretched its branches toward the bottle, but Fai jumped back, clutching the bottle to her. "Do you have any IDEA how precious that is, Zora?" She did. The realization had hit her only a few seconds before. But the fish that floated in the middle, staring out at the world (much like she had from behind the crystal), was still very much alive and deserved to stay that way. "Zora," the tree wheedled, "just share a little for me, and a little for you and your wounds, and don't worry about the fish. Let it rot at the bottom of the streams--no one will know." Fai glared at it. "I would." "But Zora--" "My name is FAI." "Fai?" The tree gasped, its branches rustling in sudden anxiety. "As in, the Zora Descendant of the Water Sage, SeFai Aquamentus?" "You sure seem to know a lot about me," Fai remarked, deepening her glare. The tree tried to shrink, mumbling to itself. "Of course, that explains it. Why else would a Zora be in a place like this? Then Ganon--" It broke off with a gasp. "What? Then Ganon what?" "Nothing...nothing. I am just a tree, nothing more." "You're a talking tree. What's going on?" "I know nothing! I'm just a tree!" "Then you wouldn't mind me breaking off one of your other branches, then...since normal trees don't scream." The tree shook tremendously. "You're horrible as far as Sages go, you know that?" Fai laughed mirthlessly. "After seeing what I have...ah, shut up. Just tell me where I can go to get home again, and I'll leave you alone." "Promise?" "Yes." "What about some water?" "We'll see just how good your information is first." "Just follow the streams north, then west for a while. You'll come to the Village of Outcasts. There's bound to be someone that can help you there. Just don't go near the Pyramid on your way--Ganon'll get you for SURE!" "And you're sure someone can help me there?" "Promise! Water now?" Fai brought out her bottle, and grudgingly popped the cork out. The fish bounced to the rim and spat at the tree, diving back into the water. Fai laughed. "I'd say that's fair." "You're horrible!" the tree whined. "And YOU should have never screwed around with the Golden Land in the first place. OR tried to steal what doesn't belong to you. But at least you have water now, so don't complain." Fai packed up her equipment, and headed north. The deathbirds soon came back to their perch, admiring the melting shards of ice. They cocked their heads, as if listening to the tree while it was muttering. Both birds sat up when they heard the words "sage" and "Zora". One nodded to the other, then flapped into the air, heading due north. Straight to the Pyramid.
Break
Dareigen managed to take a few more steps from the village. Struggling to take another, he turned back and stared at the gate and small wooden houses that stood behind the fence. He remembered all the days he had spent inside that place, all the happy memories that were fused into his mind. He tore his gaze away from the village and continued a slow walk across the Desert of Mystery. He heard a vague rumbling sound that vibrated from the ground into his feet. Taking no notice of this, he carried on walking. It happened again, more forceful this time though and he stopped. He stood for a second. Silence. Silence apart from a wind that occaisionally swept up some sand and blew it elsewhere. Dareigen placed his right hand upon the hilt of his weapon and pulled it from its huge sheath. He held it by his side and continued walking again. He stopped walking again and looked around. He was surrounded by sand and dunes. There was nothing else in sight. He put his left hand over his eyes and squinted into the distance. The village was no longer visible. He knew he probably wouldn't see it again for a long time. Suddenly his thoughts were interrupted by another sharp rumble that nearly knocked him over. Stumbling backwards, he regained balance and stood, ready, with his huge scmitar aloft. The wind blew around him, making his cloak wrap around his body, he brushed it off with his left hand so it blew freely behind him. His eyes quickly were trained on a small movement in the sand, about five feet in front of him. He took one step back and lowered his stance. The sand in front broke and something a colour darker than the sand emerged. It looked vaguely like a head. Dareigen took a step closer, curious as to what it could be. He could remember seeing something in the Desert like this before, but he couldn't remember exactly what it looked like or how big it was. A sudden jolt of the sand in front of him exposed more of it's body. Dareigen gasped slightly as he realised that it's shoulders must be at least as big as he was tall. His eyes widened as its arms started to move and hit the ground, trying to pull the bottom part of its body out of the sand that covered it. Successful in doing so, it stood motionless for a second. Its eyes slowly opened up to reveal shining red slits in its head. A huge roar escaped its mouth as it made one step toward Dareigen. He remembered now that this monster was called a Geldman. He couldn't remember how he killed it though. Quickly, he backflipped to avoid being smashed over the head with the massive fist of the Geldman. Landing, he ran onto its fist and up its arm. He stood on its shoulders, but was quickly swatted off and fell onto the sand behind the Geldman, which slowly turned around. Dareigen rolled over onto his front and pushed himself up onto his feet. He quickly looked up at the advancing bulk of sand that towered over him. He stared at the creatures chest for a second and then jumped high into the air, bringing his scmitar down into the main bulk of the Geldman and slicing down to the Desert ground. It roared a long scratchy roar as sand poured back into the Desert's sand and made another swing for Dareigen with its fist. He ducked and made a horizontal slash to the Geldman's wrist, turning its fist to regular sand which dropped to the ground. The Geldman reeled back and leaned backward slightly. This gave Dareigen an idea and he ran straight up the creature's leg and onto his chest. He took his scmitar and drove it deep into its head and then made another hit to the chest before he cut into the arm whilst falling to the ground. He hit the ground awkwardly and was covered with sand from the Geldman. He had seemingly destroyed this monster, as the sand covering Dareigen wasn't doing anything apart from being sand. He got back up to his feet and lightly dusted himself off with his hands. He took out one of his bottles, filled with Spring Water, and took a long swig from it. Finishing, he wiped his lips and exhaled heavily. He put the bottle back in his back pouch and carried on walking for another twenty yards or so before he came to a sign. This sign read: ______________________________________ DANGER! MANY LEEVERS SIGHTED IN THE AREA BEYOND HERE! _____________________ AHEAD: Swamp of Ruin _____________________________________ Dareigen knew the Leever well, strange cactus-type things that would pop up randomly from the sand of the Desert. But now, according to this sign, there were more than ever. "This should be a challenge.." He murmured softly to himself as he forced a small smile. And he knew he was soon going to be overwhelmed with this journey he had set himself. Shaking his head, he carried on beyond this sign.

You have am injured man! Lay him down in the bed in the corner, i'll go see what I have in the way of bandages. Elsyan: Thank you. When Tasis was safely stowed in the bed, Elsyan shed her drenched cloak and sat down at a nearby table. A man entered the Inn and stared about for a minute before going up to the man at the bar. Glen returned from behind the counter and approached Tasis. Charles
At daybreak, with the sun's first light, gray morning dissolved like a bad dream, leaving behind a raw breeze. Thin clouds hurried over thick brush, casting rippling pool shadows. Fallen twigs foamed through small puddles like bobbing ships. Sparkling hills, high and green, jutted up over the horizon followed by sterile rock-steep cliffs, an earthly bald spot. Samantha, having escaped the blackness of night, stalked through the brush. A large sword fastened to her back stirred restlessly, clanking an iron song. June's blue glow lead their way through misty hills and bogs. They had entered the Lost Forest. Sam's boots squished, squeaked and spit with every step. Frowning, she rested her sword against a nearby tree and sat on a sturdy log, brushed with moss, and gingerly removed her boots. A small stream of water cascaded from the Kokirian foot wear as she shook them upside-down and wrung them out like damp cloths. "You don't suppose there are wolves around these parts," she asked June conversationally, not a trace of concern apparent in her voice. The fairy's sparkling light began to dim as she remembered Sam writhing on the ground, her life spirit flickering. "I'm sorry--so sorry, Samantha had echoed over and over again. As she grew weaker, she began to sound like a mouse trapped in a cloth sack, pitiful--muffled. A sensation of guilt swept over the fairy's body. Sometimes, she felt so helpless. "No, I don't suppose there are," June finally replied. Sam nodded, not entirely convinced, but slightly relieved as she struggled back into her boots. "This--darn---boot--won't---fit," Samantha complained through a clenched jaw, trying to wrench her left boot on. "I'll see what I can do," June sighed. Samantha tugged and pulled, tore and twisted, while June pushed and shoved underneath her foot. "I told--you--you--should have--brought a--spare pair," June chastised, gritting her teeth. Nearby deer, who had been lapping up small pools of water, paused to enjoy the awkward display of cooperation. "On the count of three," Samantha encouraged, "One...two...Three! All at once, the petite Kokirian fell backwards, crashing into a pile of leaves, sending a flume of them into the air. They caught the breeze and floated back down to earth gently. June, on the other hand, had been catapulted into the forest, where she ricocheted from tree to tree, whizzing through the air like a stray bullet. Three spotted deer looked at one another amusedly, while a pair of birds resting on a nearby branch sang hysterically. A small foot sprang from the pile of the leaves and stood erect. Sam wiggled her toes and said in a small voice, "I think it's on now."
Desbreko
Drake jumped slightly as someone tapped him on the shoulder, and turned around to see Kiln standing next to him. Drake: Kiln, hi. Thank Din, that was starting to get really awkward. Drake: What are you up to? Kiln: Just stopping in for a drink out of the storm. Drake: Ah, just what I was doing. The two walk back over to the table recently vacated by Drake, and sit down. Drake idly glances back over at the bar, and sees that Lalia has returned to tending to the customers. Kiln: Something going on with you two, eh? Drake: Well...not really. But... Drake trails off, wishing he didn't have to go off on this quest, wishing that he could just stay here, and maybe get to know Lalia better. Kiln: Maybe you should try talking to her next time. Drake: I doubt there will be a next time. Kiln: Oh? Drake: I'm leaving tomorrow. Alone. Kiln: Oh... There was a note of dismay in Kiln's voice, and Drake could tell Kiln had wanted to come with him. Kiln: But Sahasrahla said you shouldn't go alone. Drake: I know. I'm not going to lead my friends to their deaths, if I fail, though. If I succeed, maybe, just maybe... He glances back over at Lalia once again, and sighs. Maybe if I succeed, I'll be able to settle down and get to know her... If she hasn't forgotten about me by then... Assuming she's even noticed me at all. Drake: Look, I know you want to come with me. I don't want you to risk your life on something I'm not even sure about, though. Kiln: There you go, always helping me out. Kiln rolls his eyes and lets out an exasperated sigh. Kiln: Look. You know you'll have a lot better chance of surviving with someone with you. You can't deny that. And Sahasrahla knows what he's talking about, too. If you go alone, you will fail. You can't do this alone. Drake shakes his head slowly, knowing that his friend is right, but not wanting to admit it. He also knows that no matter what he says, Kiln would follow him. Slowly looking up, eye to eye with Kiln, he lets a faint grin spread across his face. Drake: You know, if you keep this up, you might just have me believing I really am the Legendary Hero. Kiln grins back at his friend, excited and relieved at the same time.
Flash
Not a full second after he had finished speaking to Kiln, Drake heard someone coughing behind him, as if to gain his attention. He turned around, locking his eyes with a pair of deep green ones. He nearly jumped, but then backed up a notch, looking at who these emerald eyes belonged to. She was a fair, blonde girl, only an inch or so shorter than himself. She wore a black cloak, hood down. A traveller, by the look of her. Ami: I couldn't help but overhear your conversation.. Drake, was it? Drake: Yes, it is. And who are you? Ami: I'm Amidriena. Pleased to meet you. Drake: The feeling is mutual... So, what brings you here? Ami: Well, I figured you might need a little help, on this little adventure of yours. Drake smiled, and shook his head. Drake: Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to decline. I'd hate to drag another person into my own troubles--Especially a complete stranger. Ami: Ah, knock it off, Drake. I've seen you around the village before. We're practically family! Drake: We... are? Ami: That's the spirit! Amidriena was an extrovert, and an incredibly outgoing one at that. Her bold and stubborn persona could be quite difficult to deal with sometimes. But on the whole, she was friendly. A little too friendly. Friendly in a scary way. Ami: Well, it's settled then. I'm coming with you. All this talking has left me fair parched... I'm going for a drink. Ami turned to the bar, and ordered an Ale from the bartender. Kiln and Drake remained standing, totally and utterly confused. Kiln: What just happened? Drake: I'd say we've, uh, got ourselves a new companion. Kiln: In this case, is that a good thing? Drake: Somehow, I'm beginning to doubt it. Break
OOC: Sorry, this'll be a short post, I'm at school right now and there's 10 minutes of this lesson left. ____________________ Dareigen continued trudging along the barren face of the Desert of Mystery. Still, not a thing in sight, and he had yet to catch sight of a Leever in this path he had taken. Making a mental shrug, he dismissed these thoughts and began to think about the task at hand; retreiving the Master Sword. "Maybe.. I could just cut through the Swamp and head north to the Castle," he thought to himself, "..But then there's the problem of not being seen by all those guards." He stopped walking and found a nearby rock. He slowly sat down and rested his head on his knee, staring at the dismal sand beneath his feet. "If only there was another way to get in, some secret passages maybe. I'm sure there will be some passages hidden within that Castle." He thought this with some hope in mind, but still couldn't dismiss the fact that he would most probably fail in this task. "I should stop putting myself down!" He cursed himself, frowning at the sand. He tapped his sword on the ground a few times lightly. Suddenly a green sillohette appeared from the sand, about half the size of Dareigen. "Ahh! A Leever!" He thought to himself. Holding his sword aloft again, he jumped from his perch and circled the Leever that had emerged from the ground. It quickly span towards him, trying to get a hit with one of its spikes into Dareigen, but he was too quick and jumped to the side of it. He held his sword high above his head and brought it down, slicing into the Leever, spilling its green blood everywhere, staining the sand. It squealed, spinning crazily again towards Dareigen. He crouched low, awaiting the Leever's arrival and when it came, he made one, swift jump over it. This confused the Leever intently, and it began spinning around on the spot, making random squeals every second. "Poor thing..." Thought Dareigen as he drove his sword into the side of the creature, killing it. He sheathed his sword and continued walking along the path.
Kei
Good God! Not here for one day, and look what happens! I need to bring my computer home.... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rayne sat in her hut in the middle of the village. Her tribe had come so far ever since Rayne had liberated them all from the tyranny of the demons who had brought her to the Dark World four years ago.... She was trying to remember their faces....her family's faces. It had been so long. She could remember certain things, like parties they had thrown and special occasions, but not anyone's faces. It saddened her to no end, but she could not let her saddness overtake her. She had responsibilites to take care of. She had people who depended on her now, and she wouldn't let them down. She was the Cheiftain of her tribe and the teacher of the warriors that protected the village from the monsters that frequently attacked them. As it happened, she needed to go and gather the trainees for their next lesson. Rayne: Oh, boy. We're still working on archery....I'd better tell everyone to take cover for awhile.... Rayne got up and walked to the door of her little hut. Opening the door, she saw one of the village children running towards her. It was Taio, a young trainee who was also a Runner who scouted out the terrain to warn the village of monster attacks. Rayne saw great promise in him. The look on his face, however, startled her. Taio: Rayne!! Rayne!! A front of monsters is heading for the village!! Rayne: What?! Rayne knew that there was a horde camped a ways away from the village, but didn't think that they would move, as they had been decimated the last time they attacked the village. Obviously, she'd been wrong. She thought fast, with Taio looking on, urgently awaiting her orders. She eventually thought up a plan. Rayne: Taio, go and gather the best archers we have. Wake old Sima, my teacher, and tell him to ring the warning bell. Tell everyone you meet on the way to get inside, except the warriors. Tell them to come here to my hut and bring their weapons. Go! Now! Taio ran off at top speed, shouting out the warning. Rayne dashed into her hut, gathering her sword and shield. If this was going to be anything like the last fight, it wasn't giong to be pretty....
