I'm really not sure, but all I can say is... Don't expect for it to end anytime soon. Pokemon is still very popular in Japan. The series could continue for a long time, and you know how Nitendo's always coming up with better ideas each time.

I think pokemon advance is already out, but I'm not sure if I can afford it for the moment. ^^; I have so much money I have to spend on Christmas presents. = \

I think Ruby and Sapphire are out in Japan, but they won't be arriving in the US until March 17, 2003. (Only about a week before Zelda: The Wind Waker comes out).

As for how long Pokémon will last, well, look at some of Nintendo's other game series. Super Mario Bros. came out in 1985, and the Mario series is still going strong, so who knows how long Pokémon will last. It could last five more years, it could last ten, there's not really any way to tell. As long as the games sell, though, it'll keep going.

Just for a guess, though, I'd say that it'll at least still be popular by the time that the next games in the series after Ruby and Sapphire come out. Probably longer.

I don't think that they are going to quit for a good while. If they do, the cards and the games would be worth a lot. But I doubt they are going to quit.

The anime store I go to, well people play the card game there. It's really poular there. Also, they are still sending out the magezines, so.

There also doing tournaments. So I think it might be a very good while before they give up. I'm sure they won't though. They said that there also were goign to be 100 more new pokemon.

OH, well, here in Omaha NE there are bearly any Pokemon fans anymore. It use ta be big, but got smaller and smaller. I mean, at the card shops all they had was Pokemon. Now they put all their pokemon stuff in a box, LoL.
I live outside of Omaha, I dont see much people playing the card game but I still play the normal one. Good times and such.

Being in the UK, Pokemon fizzled out about the same time the third movie did. I've hardly seen or heard anything about it since, aside from the Master Quest (4th) series being shown on SkyOne. I still quite like it, although I went through a brief period of intense dislike with it.

I think it could carry on for a long time, if the franchise can be renewed a little. There are only so many Pokemon you can add to the PokeDex without it becoming like a game about stamp collecting. I think it's strategy element is good, but I'd like to see a game where you actually are the Pokemon and do the moves like a beat 'em up. The problem is, there are so many that you'd have a maximum of about two moves per Pokemon without having serious problems. And selecting which ones to include would be hard.

There's always a way to renew a franchise if you look hard enough. I'm quite glad the Pokemon series has started to move away from the more formulaic structure of the first series in Master Quest, and they brought [strike]Ritchie[/strike] [strike]Richie[/strike] [strike]Richy[/strike] the green-dressed boy who looks like Ash with brown hair back (I prefer him to Ash, personally). Maybe they could start a Team Rocket series or something about a Gym Leader. Or have something more along the lines of the movies where they actually have a real, definite goal to accomplish.

The card game's dead over here. Very dead, as far as I can see.
