Before you fight Emerald WEAPON, make sure that you have a Final Attack Materia. Pair it with either Revive or Phoenix (though Phoenix is better). Then, when Emerald does it's super attack that does 9999 damage to everyone in your party, you'll instantly be back up at full health, and you'll do damage to it. (That is, if you pair it with Phoenix).

If you don't do this, you'll have to have less than 9 Materia on at least one character, so that it won't do 9999 damage. The attack does 1111 damage for each Materia on a character, so if you have nine or more, it's an instant kill.

Other advice: Mime KOTR over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over... And then repeat. :p

Heh, super attack. Last time i remember fighting emerald weapon, that attack did nothing. Yes, nothing. The reason for this is in that "super attacks" name -- Aire-Tam storm. Which, if you look at backwards says Materia. So it is if infact Materia storm. Now that you know the name of it, are you still struggling to find out how it did no damage against me? Simple. Materia storm, materia, the damage the attack does depend entirely on you. The attack calculates damage on how much materia you have equipped. If you have one piece, it will do 1111 damage, 2 pieces 2222, 3 pieces 3333 and so on. Now seeing as most people want to level up their materia, and emerald gives you 50 000 ap, people equip all the materia they can, which in turn, will make the attack do 9999 damage. Now sure, you can just get Final attack and phoenix, but for people who don?t have the time or resources to go through the battle arena, just equip 8 pieces of materia to each person.

Simple as pie.

Lame...

Do it the fun way! Get 14 pieces of 'Counter' Materia, One 'HP-up' and one Mastered 'Cover' materia. Put all that on one person, as well as a Wizard Bracelet and that person's ultimate weapon. That means that whenever someone gets hit, that person will cover it and counter Fourteen times, for roughly 139986 damage. Sweet, eh? Now imagine doing that for everyone... *drool*

That's vengeance for you. ^_^

(you might want to exchange one piece of Counter Materia for Enemy Skill (Big Guard, White Wind) or something.)

Yeah, Miming KOTR is cheap, but getting that many pieces of Counter Attack Materia takes a long, long time. I only ever had that many after leveling for God knows how long, after I had done everything in the game and I was just trying for three sets of Master Materia. I love doing that against Sephiroth, though. Takes him out in no time.

And, uh, NeoC, take a look at the second paragraph of my last post. I mentioned that, lol.

Bizarro Sephiroth was a lot easier with only one party that had all of your best materia and equipment. If you try to spread it all out between 2 or 3 parties it's trickier, altho it's not that hard either way unless you have few materia and low levels. As for emeraldy weapon...hm..yeah that final attack-phoenix and KoTR tecnhique is pretty much the way to go, but I don't think anyone mentioned the Underwater Materia. You have to morph a Ghost Ship that can be found in the underwater reactor under Junon, I find them a lot in the screen where you're in an underwater glass tube and you can see fish and such swimming around outside. You can't rely on KoTR only tho, if emerald weapon kills you and triggers Phoenix, you have to cast KoTR again or else you'll just mime the phoenix. So bring along 4x cut if ya have it. The enemy skill Big Guard is also extremely helpful, since it halves the damage of emerald weapon's multi-lasers (the ones that do damage anyway).

Yep! When fighting Emerald underwater, it's very important to have the Underwater materia equipped. It removes the time limit you would have, were you not equipped with Underwater materia.
(SephirothNIN already mentioned how to get it)
Make sure you have a few Counter and Mime materias. Then everytime you're hit, you'll mime anything earlier apart from anyone else's limit breaks.
If you have Yuffie's Conformer (from the Gelnika/Gelinka/whatever sunk ship) then she's bound to hit 9999 every hit. Have 4x Cut handy too, and W-Summon, KOTR+MP Turbo, and a W-Item (all spread out amongst your party).
You don't really need Pheonix+Final Attack. Just keep using Megalixers with the back-up W-Item person (who can restore the 'lixers used ;)) at random intervals as well as serious times when you need them.
Oh, start the battle with an Omnislash, and only cast W-KOTR when Emerald has lost all its eye thingies (The only time he shouldn't counter with anything hard).
And equip Mystiles. They reduce the damage of the Aire Tam Storm (The move that does 1111 for each materia equipped on that person).
And cast Wall+All quite a lot, and as I said earlier, use a megalixer every 20 seconds.

*finishes his insane and unneeded rambling*

I think you should use the SPOILER tag a lot more than you are using it now. Not everyone wants to know how to kill these things, well at least before the point where the challenge becomes annoyance. Please use the tag next time, thanks.

Lol, sorry Des.

:toothy: - Desbreko

Oh and flash, if you put counter on everyone, it is the same as putting counter on one person with cover. If they have cover on, they will take everyone?s damage. Then the others are free to heal or do whatever. So there is no point in putting counter on everyone because one person will do that much damage anyway, unless of course he does an attack that hurts all, like supernova.

Try using the DeBarrier spell from the destruct materia Sephiroth chucks at Cloud's head. Once you take out the last boss's barrier one knights of the round will be all you need. Anywhoo to get w-summon you need to get 64,000bp in the battle arena and you simply buy it. Make SURE that you don't leave the battle arena or your BP will reset, it really sux. I spent 30 min getting omnislash and w-summon for my cousin (I kept getting crappy slots and barely any bp), only to accidently leave and lose all my BP ><. To get the final attack materia you need to buy both the omnislash (32,000bp) and W-summon (64,000bp) from the battle arena, then the woman behind the counter will say how great you did and you will be able to participate in a "special battle" w/ Cloud only. It can be freakishly hard if you keep getting slots that halve your HP or disable your materia, so give Cloud all your best stuff, enemy skill, KoTR, 4x cut, counter, mime, anything. If you go into battle w/ Cloud's limit meter full, you can use omnislash in 1 battle, and (as long as you don't do another move) mime it in the next battle over and over. Err....I don't know how to do that spoiler tag so I just won't say who the last enemy of the special battle is, but once you win you'll be given the final attack materia (that uses whatever summon/magic materia is linked to it).

If anyone want to beat Ruby Weapon with KoTR. Be sure to give all of your character with all of your Mystyle Armor so Ultima won't affect you.
To beat Sephiroth w/out KoTR,be sure that Omnislash does a 9999 damage average so thats the only thing that does most damage to Sephiroth.Use De-Barrier to remove that rediculious barrier to cause serious damage. After you use Omnislash, use mime to do your other character's Limit Break.Vincent's and Cid's Limit Break is good.Be sure to lower Vincent's Limit level to 3 so his Frakenstein Limit Break would work.HIs Frakenstien LImit break causes a 5-times attack hit I think.Cid's HIghwind limit break is multiple hit (about 9 times it hits I think).

I don't know about Tifa's Ultimate weapon special ability damage.BUt no need for that.

As long as you mime after Vincent's limit break attacks, you'll use your limit breaks as well.It should be easy demolishing Sephiroth like that.Just beware of Sephiroth's Super nova. You'll be just fine. Also equip everyone with Ribbons. You'll be safe against Flying horse(I think) with ribbons on because I think it causes every Negative Statuses.ONe last thing, cast Big guard regulary followed by a regen-all before you make the barrage of LImit breaks.I equip Enemy skill to Cid and Regen-ALL to Cloud. Before you fight,Vincent's limit should be at max at level 3.So you could begin the barrage immediatly after the magics when you have Vincent on hold. You'll easily beat Sephiroth and enjoy the ending.

er...there are so many things...wrong with that whole strategy, first off vincent's only limit break w/ a 5-hit combo is Hellmasker, and the hits are pretty weak, in a final boss fight you really don't want to use someone who you can't control anyway. Cid's limit also hits way more than 9 times, but they're relatively weak missles as well. Your best bet (if you really really want to do the limit break thing) would be Tifa's 7-hit limit break combo (assuming you don't miss any) or Barret's catastrophe. If you use a hero drink on cloud, it'll significantly increase the damage each hit of Omnislash does as well. A ribbon for pale horse?...eh...maybe just one, and then have them use white wind to insta-cure everyone. Try not to kill the last boss until you've seen his Supernova attack, it looks really cool, heh and you can always screw around and use an elixir on the boss if ya want to see Supernova a few more times.

I know this is probably off the subject of the final boss, and you may think I'm an idiot, which is fine, because i'm a chick gamer and i'm used to it, but when you're in the Shinra building after Jenova breaks out and Sephiroth supposedly kills the president, you have to get into that glass elevator. I know there are at least two bosses there because I somehow managed to beat the first one after sixteen tries. Can someone please tell me an easier way to beat those bosses? I'm only on the first disk, and my sister is already DONE with the game. That's killing me guys, so I'd be really grateful if you could give me some tips!

You mean the 100 Gunner and that other one (I forgot it's name)? Yeah, I had trouble on those too. What you need to do is get some long range attacks, since you cannot use any physical attacks. If you have Barret on your party, use a Hyper on him so that his status changes to Fury. This will mean his limit bar goes up a lot quicker (and deal big damage to the bosses). Use magic attacks also, Bolt seems to work the best against machines. Designate the other person as a healer, with some magic too and you should be able to beat them both.

I hope this helps you. :)

Heh, don't worry about going off topic in a help thread if you're asking questions. It's easier when people post their questions in already existing help threads.

But yeah, make sure each of your party members has at least one attack magic spell, since Barret is the only one that can hit them (them being the Hundred Gunner and Heli Gunner) with his normal attack. Just keep pounding away with magic and limit breaks when they become available, and have one person with the Restore Materia for healing whenever someone gets low on HP. And like Break said, Bolt spells are especially effective against mechanical monsters, so use Bolt as often as you can.

This is one of the more challenging boss fights early on in the game, but don't give up. You'll beat them eventually, and shortly after, you'll be treated to one of the coolest cutscenes in the game.

On the hundred/heli gunner fight, when you get to choose who stays and who goes, take barret and red XIII w/ you. Red's limit, sled fang is long range and will do a nice little bit of damage to whichever boss you're fighting. Have him and/or cloud use either bolt spells or throw grenades, right hands, or any offensive items you have, otherwise just have them defend until their limit meters build up. After that fight, switch the rows of everyone, meaning put cloud/tifa/red/aeris in the back row, and barret in the front. Because very soon you'll be fighting another boss, and he'll attack from behind, so all your characters will be in reverse row. If you reverse them before the fight tho they'll be just the way ya want em.

Switch Tifa with Barret and make him learn like a late level 2 or a early level 3 limit break.

Preparation: Aeris should have the Cure-all combo in her materia slot and with the bolt 2 ability,If you have the elemental materia then put elemental-bolt materias into her armor so she's protected from Trine. While Cloud should have the ice 2 ability. Barret should equip enemy skill so it could learn the Trine ability.

Materia Keeper HP:8400

Actual battle: He's one tough boss. Most of it's attacks can do 200-300 damage. Don't use any fire spells because it heals him. First hit the boss hard with bolt 2 and ice 2 magics. Whenever you can use limit breaks USE THEM IMMEDIATLY!!!! Except for Aeris's.When your MP is low then switch to normal attacks or use ethers. WHen he's almost dieing he'll use Cure 2 on himself. But don't worry it only heals about 1,000 HP... that isn't much. When you win you'll recieve a Jem Ring, 3000 EXP, 2400 gil, and 200 AP.

Should I use Aeris' Seal Evil whenever I can or should I concentrate on healing or attacking? For Barret what Limit Break should I use.At the moment I only have Big Shot and Mindblow.
Should I level up? Cloud Lv. 21 Aeris Lv. 18 and Barret Lv. 18

Thanx

Don't bother with Aeris' Seal Evil Limit Break, since the Materia Keeper can't be stopped (though it can be silenced). You'd probably be better off using Healing Wind, if you're still on her level 1 limits. If you have her second level 2 limit, that'd be handy, since it fills the other two characters' limit bars. (Though you usually don't get her second level 2 limit that early in the game).
