How would you change vice city?

What extras do you want in Vice City to make it a perfect game or what do you want the next GTA to be like? Where should it be placed and what else do you want it to do?

Well I think the next game should have more weapons and cars of course, but also basic things like being able to swim and talk more. I think they should definetely think about putting in an autosave as Vice City crashes often which is very annoyin!

I had finished Vice City but it won't let me load it now it just comes up with the screen black and i think i should take it back, so the new game should sort out its glitches too. I don't know where it should be based, i think in the future would be COOL as there would be good weapons, vehicles, teleporting systems, etc. Maybe somewhere like South Africa as well.

...why South Africa?

Erm, I don't think it should be so bright. The sun effects can be really over the top. The glitches definatley need to be cleaned up, but I think it's people like BigCajones *jokes* putting pressure on the companies to release by a certain date. Weapons, should not be in set's of three...that isn't a good feature at all. That's all really, except for those, it's a perfect game!

South Africa have to live in conditions like the ones on Vice City everyday in places like Johansburg. People shooting people through car windows and then stealing their cars. I don't know why i said it really but i do like the idea of GTA in the future!!!

I agree the sun can get really really annoying and the weapons in sets of three i can live with though.

Um... no. No they don't. :drunk:

What ever gave you that idea?

That doesn't only happen in Africa, just more frequently over there.

Anyway.. swimming would be a good idea for a new GTA, because even people who can't swim can probably keep their heads above water.

I would also prefer having all weapons accessible once you obtain them. GTA: Vice City is hardly the most realistic crime-oriented game around, and even now you can carry a mini-gun somewhere without anyone noticing.

Cajones, have you ever even BEEN to Jo'berg? I have been there 3 times, it's a dangerous place, but there is no resembelance to Vice City. God, you're damn random sometime boy! I think a GTA : Londn, (in 3D) would be classic...and I hear the Getaway had nearly just answered my prayers!

Well Mr. Bing Miss Hairy Arms Evans told me this I'm afraid so you can tell her. I like to be random yesssssss! The Getaway does looks good yeah i can't wait to get it!!! It looks alot more realistic compared to Vice City.

Chill out guys this isnt a Geography lesson. Hmm Swimming would be a definite YES! But I think that you shpuld have the ability to go into ANY building to hide out and have the ability to take cover and to shoot outside. Also like GTA 2, perhaps you should have a choice like to join one specific gang and when you're on missions you could hire 'muscle' to back you up, thats what I call a gang war ;)

Ye that would be KOOL choosing your own gangs to join, but the nxt GTA needs more gangs compared to what Vice City had. I would like also to buy more buildings and rob banks. The police need to look different, i know they were spose to be based on the 80s, but they look like normal civilians and i get confused :S. I miss being able to beat up the old grandmas like on GTA3. I think you should be able to have more basic forms of transport i.e. skateboards, scooters, rollerblades, etc. More tunes on the radio, i like the idea of real songs - Billy Jean rocks! :D Children and pets to kill

What do you think?

Kids yeah, pets NO! lol, Children would be discrimination against the law, though it is funny how it is OK to kill adults or OAPS, or even Officers of the Law, oh well, doesnt look like this going to happen. But I'd hate the game if you shot a kid with a sniper rifle from a high rise building, and the parents scream which for one would make me jump, but the police wouldnt be ever off your tail.

Id like it if the police didn't always know where you are...like they had to search for you and put forth some kinda effort to track you down...the police are always some omniscient force in the games that see you no matter what you do lol...

Hmm well you have to admit, it does add a challenge. If you need a tip then here's one. When you've got a wanted star rating (It MUST be a low one) hide in alleys and you will find that the cops are completely oblivious to where you are. I think a nice effect would be that if you id alot of Vigilante missions, then you'll be given the ability to pay 'protection' money which will have you ordering the police to raid a specific gang warehouse. The list is endless, but the police do need some work.

Yeah, but some people don't like ruining there game with codes. That could possibly be the reason of your glitch, Big Cajones? Swimming, would have to be limited, you couldn't just dive in and swim whereever you want. That would ruin the whole point of boats etc. I agree with Zidane, the police need to act more intelligent. I think they should add in those long spiked rope things that police through across the road to puncture your tyres. I believe the police can shoot out your tyres, but it would be funnier with those!

After time, playing on a game with police that smart and with lots of little devices to stop you, they would get overly annoying and getting caught every time you committed a crime would start to grate a little.

I was just saying if you wanted to cheat, but somebody wanted me to try some out because some new ones are funny which probably did affect the game but hey thats my bad. The character should be able to do more moves like roll, hiding behind walls or strangling the character so he takes the bullets being fired at you. You would probably need extra buttons to do all this though lol. The police having spiked ropes is a good idea!

Yes, but I think the devices should only be used when you have like 5 stars etc. I think it would be well good if you could escape from the police car, and walk around with handcuffs on...that would be funny. Say, you had to pay to get them taken off. You would have to decide though, pay the cash, or fail the mission...that would be a good option.

Oh well. There are a number of things that could have been improved in VC.

Drive by shootings could have been improved. That weird (albeit minute) delay when you move from stationery to a full-on run should simply not happen. The variety of cars could and should be greater. What happened to the twice or three times as many cars? Maybe that is truly the case and I haven't noticed. But I don't notice a greater variety in cars at all. o_O

Also, I think the entire control scheme needed an overhaul generally. If you play GTA and then play Zelda on N64, there is a huge difference. Even Zelda on N64 feels so much smoother than GTA. I think GTA would really benefit from a more accurate/smooth/ergonomic control system. My biggest beef with the game would probably be its controls (aiming is horrible for me, though that is somewhat the fault of the poor PS2 analog sticks). Still, I think VC improved where GTAIII had obvious improvements to be made. So it's a case of getting what you expect; it's not entirely new, it's more of an expansion pack (or spin-off, which might be a more appropriate term).

Hey, BigCajones, it's ninty packages for the Machine guns, hundred for missiles. Joe Jamieson has the machine gun helicopter. It's really good, because you can hold R1 and hover above the streets shooting at people! :flaming: It's crazy!

Ahhhh I really want to get it and I would if it hadn't crashed . The guide tells you like where all the packages are, but it's not worth getting now! I feel like roaming around on a skateboard/BMX/scooter for sum reason. There could be trick missions for them as an extra asset which would be fun like the Destruction Derby in Vice City.

Yes, but at least it adds more of a challenge and vaporises the boredom. I really think you should be allowed to get drunk and when your out at like between 2 am - 7 am, on the streets then you should be breathalised, giving you a chance to cause more havoc.
Also terrain interaction for example, bullets leaving permanent marks on walls should be available, leaving more interest for damage while builders should build scaffolding and you should have the privelge of blowing it up.

It's 80 packages for the machine gun helicopter, the Sea Sparrow, and one hundred, plus all properties owned and the last two missions completed for the missile helicopter, the Hunter.
