Gaming Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth Caw and game discussion!

:) Ok well first off I would like to say I was really impressed with the latest edition of Smackdown to the PS2. I'm not sure exactly how many OB members are fans of the wrestling games but perhaps we could discuss this game in some detail and trade caws.

Second, I'd like to say that even though the game has massively improved over it's predeccessor I was rather disappointed with the create mode. They took vital aspects of the hair options out that make it really hard to make a decent anime character, the only real true anime hair style they have in the game is Goku's Super Saiyan hair doo, dispite the minor setbacks of create mode though it's still an impressive game the tlc, and Hell In the Cell Matches by far have been the greatest improvement in the game.

So what does everyone think of this game? What are some of the matches you've seen so fair like Hair vs. Hair which I had the pleasure of seeing. Who do you think is the best captured wrestler in the game in terms of "realness". But last post your own caw creation formula's here.

[SIZE=1]I heard it was better than the other Smakdown games. But I'm sure that the graphics aren't going to be all that great. Just since I herd that they made the game really quickly.

But it is supposed to be good. My friend is going to get it, so I can't wait to see how the Gameplay is. Also, the championship, and all the new charcters. Also, create a player![/size]

Actually i think the graphics are really good and the crowd are 3D whoch is an improvement! The gameplay is better and the characters look superb! Also hardcore matches are alot funner ... I'm sure i will post again in this thread later, maybe compare it to Wrestlemania X8 which I find fun too.

I thought that the game was okay. It still runs on the same engine that we've seen for years now, so I was especially surprised by some of the enhancements. The gameplay and graphics, in particular, featured enough tweaks and improvements to earn the game the title of "Best Wrestling Game since [b]No Mercy[/b]." But, that's not saying much considering the poor quality of wrestling titles recently, and that No Mercy is a couple years old and running on weaker hardware.

Although season mode is still decidedly repetitive and poor, the wrestlers' mannerisms and the ability to remove padding from the turnbuckles really help to capture the essence of WWE. Now all we need is the ability to put our feet on the ropes for leverage.

And really, coming off of last year's horrendous [b]SmackDown: Just Bring It[/b], and the surprisingly inferior [b]Wrestlemania X8[/b], [b]SD: Shut Your Mouth[/b], [I]had[/I] to deliver.

I'm still unlocking new features for CAW's by the way, so I won't be able to share anything just yet.

I think the characters look pretty good the crowd has definately improved the attacks you can do with weapons are funny and the season mode is pretty realistic although i still wish it could be multiplayer coz i loved playin multiplayer season on smackdown 2

Yeah Smackdown 4 has definetely improved in vital areas and I agree 2-player season mode would be good fun. I find it funny how the wrestlers just roll of the hell in the cell and bounce everywhere (not very well done though). Now it only takes one move to get you through the top as well which aint great. They need to do what Wrestlemania X8 has done and make 4 cage parts you can fall through. Each time you slam them onto it you see the depth of dent it the cage part till you are finally through. Also a thing that annoys me is when you counter someones special you loose yours which is pointless you should gain one like Wrestlemania X8, because its more funny when you counter your mates stunner then give him your special and laugh alot at your mate if you win. Another funny thing, on Smackdown which takes away the realism a bit is when in like a hardcore match you go back stage and fly off a car lol or a gas pipe and then bounce wrecklessly probably breaking every bone in your body.

Still haven't created anyone sorry been playing other games I've basically mastered Smackdown now.

There are still a few flaws in the game where your standing in mid-air and so on, but most games have flaws now so there's not much to do about it. Good graphics and can't wait for the next one in this sequel!

This game is the one reason I would buy a Ps2, Im obsessed with wrestling and this is the best thing next to watching it on TV. My freind has it and we played it for hours....Its great...

It is very realisitic and the entrances are so good and detailed, although the wrestlers are too fast when they do moves and submission moves are way too short, i like gave someone the sharp shooter and it was held for about 5 seconds which didnt make it very realisitic i think in smackdown 5 they should improve and that and as cajones said about the cage and the way you fall off but i do like the variety of matches you have around 60 odd i think.

It is also not very realistic nor good the fact that you can't break up submission holds. Smackdown 5 should do loads of new matches like - inferno, strap, chain, casket, the elimination chamber, etc. Also the royal rumble is way too easy. I think 6-8 people in the ring again and keep the referee. More weapons and backstage areas. I can't think right now, but the game needs something to make it original!

Yeah i think they should have the royal rumble like they do in wrestlemania x8 when they dont go out straight away they have a bar that indicates how much like stamina they have left.
I think if they added all those matches in then it would be really cool and i used to like playing the 8 man battle royals and having 8 men in the ring at one time for the royal rumble.
They should also update the wrestler roster by getting rid of the old ones who arent in it anymore and adding the new ones like who have just joined.
Its really annoying when you cant break up submissions and moves.

Well they always change the roster. The game needs a shopping mall *takes idea from No Mercy*. You should do season mode but you should have to buy things from this shopping mall with your earnings however much you should get. You should save up money for different things you can buy such as - clothes, moves, weapons, arenas, matches, and superstars (Maybe old wrestlers, and I think it will be funny if they could put in superheros such as spiderman lol but I doubt they have the authority)

Another idea I would love to see is simply voice overs in the game, because on season mode where they just randomly open their mouths it looks rather stupid and nothing like they were actually spose to see. Talking would be great and also I think Smackdown should try including some made up storyline instead of always going with what happens on the T.V as there will be more suspense and won't be so darn repetive.

Add more cut-scenes and include BLOOD to the game :demon:
