My new years resolutions? Hm...

Finally create the manga I've been working on for the last few years.

Propose to my partner on a private yacht in Sydney Harbour.

Get OBv7 out the door with EVERYTHING completed. ^_^;;

Round out my final months at OB with a bang (see above).

Get back into the gym three times a week, rather than once a week (in other words, make more time for myself).

Pursue Nintendo until they give up and say "Okay, okay, we'll give you a job"
There we go. Heheh. ^_^;

Hmmm...

--To think of a New Year's resolution that is vaguely do-able, and then make it a New Year's resolution for next year.

I don't do new year's resolutions that often, cos they are rarely ever do-able..

more specifically, I don't think it should just be a new-year thing.. cos most of the time you blow it and think "oh well", whereas ideally you'd try again, regardless of whether it was New Year or not. But I do think it's cool that people use a specific time to set goals, whether they can be acheived or not. What really counts, in my opinion, is trying, not acheiving. An effortless acheivement is worthless..

edit: working on a "I ought to do this some day", I'd love to:

-lead worship on a huge scale, just once (not for recognition- half the people at a huge worship gathering don't know who the worship leaders are)
-record a worship CD with "even in the desert" on it
-own a real piano

To be honest.. there's not a lot more than that that I can think of right now.. I need to diversify. Then I'll come back and add to my list.

Ravenstorture's List of Ten New Year Resolutions for 2003, None of Which She'll Keep, Except Possibly the Second one!

1. Stop beating up Harlequin, or at least, stop attempting to.

2. Lay off Cloricus - this will be easy for all of us, he won't be nearly as annoying when we cut out his tongue and sew his fingers to his armpits!!

3. Stop annoying Harlequin at five in the morning when I show up at his house, let myself in, climb in bed with his sleeping self and start getting restless because he's just lying there. Motionless bodies are not there to be poked!

4. Stop making all my friends feel uncomfortable by purposely slipping constant sexual innuendoes in the conversation and laughing insanely.

5. Laugh insanely a lot more, expecially in large bodies of water.

6. Learn the drums. And stop getting pissed off because people are watching you do it.

7. Have more patience with Harlequin, and stop guilt tripping him constantly simply because you have nothing better to do.

8. Try being a reasonably ok girlfriend - as it stands, you're together for the sake of the cat fur.

9. Leave Lunafai alone, the corpse is beginning to cool. Try a martial art instead! Corneal implants my ***.

10. Senior school will require effort. Get used to a heavy workload, medicine isn't something you will breeze through.

Well, the only real one that I am defintely planning on fufilling is getting buff. I'm kinda scrawny, but I'm tired of being so. So i'm planning on bulking up a bit. I started a couple weeks ago, and it's working, so wheeeee!!!!!!! lol.

I also need to pass chemistry next semester, because i failed this last one.

I never bother to make New Year's Resolutions because I don't have any obvious vices like addictions to smoking or drinking to overcome.

I guess the best resolution I can make, that I'll realistically stick to, is improving just a tad with writing. I'm taking a fiction writing workshop, so pending I don't drop it, I might make good on that goal.

As far as Otakuboards goes, (since I always try to tie this kind of thing in with something you guys can relate to) perhaps I could try to use a normal-looking banner and/or avatar for my resolution. I'll be a kinder, gentler, more sane white boy. :drunk:

Heh.
I got some coursework that needs handing in, first day back to school. I haven't touched it for the past 2 weeks.
But that's probably because the stupid teachers don't know how to add a stupid logo to a stupider set of labels...*mumble mumble*

I really have to say that I have no New Year's resolutions.

I find that these types of promises shallow and a form of self gratification...I mean, if you're going to put off these promises until the beginning of the next year, what's the point of making them? It's pretty obvious that you're just going to put them off till the next year...

Ok, its a bit of fun I know, so I won't in any way spoil your fun.

Nope, not in any way , shape or form.

nosiree...not me..

uh..

damn.

I've thought about this a bit and I've got a FEW...

-I want to write in a journal on a regular basis. I used to do it and I liked it.

-I want to pray more often. I do it just about everyday, and sometimes more than once a day, but I want to do it EVERY NIGHT. Also, something that goes along with that, I want to read my scriptures more often. I'm so slack...

-I want to be more responsible with schoolwork and buckle down. I'm about to be going to college and I can't be a slacker or I'll never make it...

-Keep my room clean. I clean it up last week and I never want it to get messy again! Yeah right...

OH! EDIT! Hey Liam, lots of people do that, but if you sincerely set your mind to it, you can accomplish your goals. This year is the first year I've ever had a NYR, so I'm definately going to try to stick to them.
