Rinalph sat sleeping in front of the still warm hearth. He opened an eye and looked cautiously around the room. His first response was to leap into a defensive position, but then his memory of the day before surfaced. How very odd it was...

Rinalph straightened up and glanced out the window to see something walk outside, and vanish. Thinking it was a trick of the light, he rubbed his eyes and peered through the window. Nothing but the forest was in sight...odd...

Feeling this deserved some inversitgation, Rinalph leapt out of the window and into the trees. He made his way very slowly and carefully through the branches until he reached the top of the tallest tree he could find. In the distance he could make out a speck, and it was gone.

Rinalph dropped to the forest floor and made steady distance from the house. He didn't seem to feel it necessary to take his leave, the window was open, that was all the explanation necessary.

Rinalph stopped and sniffed the air. The scent was being blown away...if he didn't speed up he'd lose it fast...Rinalp reverted to all fours and raced through the trees...Half an hour later he had lost the scent and was miles from whence he came.

Tired, he flopped down next to a tree and listened.

Nepenthe: Good hunting Rinalph!

The orc looked up to see the female nephil winging up fast, then spiraling away into the low hanging clouds. He waved, then sat down again. Nepenthe smiled and continued, dipping up into the sunlight now and again. The cold vapors were icing down her wings....

She sighed and continued on her path upwards to the northlands, where she knew that the Blue Mage was sleeping. She kept straight and didn't sway to earth until far later. She touched down inside a quiet grove of pine trees and leaned back againt the thick trunk of one of them. Eyes closed, body relaxed, she quietly opened her pack and pulled out the tinder box and the ingredients for Jenica's deerhead soup. Fingers moving with the practice of long years, she set fire to a small clump of dried grasses, then added twigs and then logs....

The stew bubbled furiously, and she set it down next to her resting place. Nepenthe quickly ran through the rituals of opening the eyes of the sleeping mage. For cold sleep, run the hands across the face, draw blood from the left palm, then the right. Mix together and pour into the magic circle you create with your own. Say the words hidden in the tounge of the black ones. Clap twice, open your eyes, touch his face and call him out.

Nepenthe: ...this'll be a cinch. I hope.

Nelynn dipped her hand into the water and scooped a bit into her mouth. She spat it out on the nearby grass.

Nelynn: Augh! Elf tears! Well.. a mutated elf, whatever, close enough..

Nelynn stood and picked up her staff. She cracked her neck and adjusted her belt. She opened one of the leather pouches hanging from it and drew out a few small clear blue stones. She threw them into the water. Steam began to rise, and the water to bubble. After a few minutes, it ceased and Nelynn took another drink. Pure. When the sylph had satisfied her thirst, she filled up her elk stomach pouch with water and plugged it with the maple root cap. She tore a few leaves from a nearby mint plant and stuck them in her mouth, chewing lightly on the unfilling flora.

Nelynn: Yet another beautiful day in the forest. The tomb of the Goddess of the Dawn should be around here somewhere.

Nelynn drew out her machete and sliced back a few nearby ferns. She saw a glint of what appeared to be ivory in the distance. She also smelled another creature in the air. Silently Nelynn replaced her blade into her belt and tightened her grip on the staff. Using her grace given speed and silence, Nelynn dashed into the brush as fast as her powerful legs allowed. She was determined to reach the tomb before whatever else was in the forest did.

Rinalph stood and made in the general direction of whence he came. He'd found out what had taken off so suddenly and flown so swiftly, so that was good. Now it seemed he needed to find where he had started from.

He had only just begun his journey when the dank smell of Orc came to his nostrils...the smell of Orc moving swiftly and hunting something. In a panic, Rinalph leapt up into the nearest tree not a moment too soon.

Below him twenty or so Orcs gathered together, each from a different direction, a hunting party.

'Where is he?' one muttered in an unholy tongue

'I can smell him!' hissed another.

'His tracks lead here...' when the third had finished speaking, the rest of the Orcs looked up into the trees.

Rinalph groaned and felt his body morphing into the slim human form from his Orcish one. When his body had finished changing, his a size too big helmet fell off his head, hitting the ground with a clang.

Rinalph placed a hand on his sword, it was only seconds know.

All eyes were on the helmet.

'That's his it is!'

'Oi! It fell from that tre- urk...'

Rinalph unsheathed his sword from the last Orc who had spoken. The rest gazed at him warily. Murmers of 'man things' ran through the remaining nineteen. The nearest Orc to Rinalph let out a cry of anger and rushed at him with his pike. Rinalph caught the offending weapong with one of his hands and beheaded him with the sword in the other.

The headless Orc fell to the ground. Rinalph felt surprised, he knew for sure that if he had been in his orcish shape he'd be part of someone's head collection by now...

The eighteen remaining Orcs felt it necessary to attack him all together.

Rinalph felt slightly euphoric, parry, parry, thrust, parry, jab...in short time he was slick with black blood and extremely tired. Dazed, Rinalph tottered along the forest floor in the general direction of the house he had left.

He could see the house in the distance and tottered through the door.

Jenica looked up from a new piece of needlework,

'What the hell happened to you? No matter, you're just in time to help me with the washing...mind you, it'd be better if you bathed first. I trust you can do that by yourself?'

Rinalph: ...yeah. I guess so.

Jenica: If you don't, I'll come after you with a bottlebrush and more verbena soap than you can handle.

He backed away cautiously and quickly made his way to the pool and cleaned himself up...putting on the tunic she had thrown at him. Once in it, he discovered that it not only changed with his form, but also smelled like heather and lilac.

Jenica: Better. Now help me.

Rinalph: What do I do....?

Jenica: Fill the woodbox from the back of the house, then come in here and we'll see what you can do with needles.

He complied, the female werewolf had a way that just made him do it...without questioning any part. Jenica looked up and smiled. He was looking very good.

Rinalph: I'm done. Now what?

Jenica: Washing is done with, I did it while you were out. Nepenthe will be back much later, and Siren's off being a sphynx, so you need to help me.

Rinalph: With ...sewing?!?

Jenica: No, I need you to thread my loom....but card out the wool first. Here.

She tossed a basket to him and he caught it by the handle. Inside were three piles of white wool, uncarded, and messy. He pulled out a thick wooden comb and stretched out the fibers on the floor. Under Jenica's firm instruction, he ran the comb through, tearing out the tangles and creating thick strands of white wool. He smiled. It not only smelled good, but also looked terrific. He continued brushing and twisting until he had a full skien out and ready for weaving. Jenica smiled and pointed to the loom.

Jenica: Thread.

OOC: Whoops. ^_^; I didn't see your post there... Sorry Rico!

Laitina stopped and sat down on a log. It was getting dark, and closer to nightfall. She closed her eyes, and checked the area to make sure nothing was close by. She felt something small, yet quite alive in the distance.

"It won't reach us for three days." She thought. "It's probably a mouse anyway."

She opened her eyes, and saw Kato sitting down beside her. He glanced around at the trees, which stood higher up than those of the ones by the spring. He sniffed the air and coughed, quickly holding his breath.

"What's that smell!?" Kato exclaimed, pulling away from the log.

Laitina smelled the air, and glanced behind them.

"It's coming from over there, isn't it?" Kato implied, pointing at a small curve of smoke in the air.

Kato leaned over by the tree, and stood at the peak of the cliff.

"Something's burning."

Laitina rose and walked over to Kato. She leaned over and saw the fire as well.

"It's unfamiliar to me... what does it smell like?"

Kato smelled the air once more, and coughed at the scent.

"Some sort of...furnice."

She woke from her slumber, eyes opening and closing. Her pupils dialated and she looked around.....finding nothing out of the ordinary....she stood and cleaned up her campground. She pulled apart the left over meat and quickly consumed it. When she was finished, she looked around and then jumped high, wings stretching out.

Her body tensed, and she looked again. His temple was within range. She buried her belongings and sealed it with an elemental curse, then pulled off her tunic and wrapped the skirt tighter around her waist. The skins around her chest went, they wouldn't help either....especially if the rumors were true. And the day was very hot....

Nepenthe: You'd better be ready for a rude awakening....Blue Mage.

With a vicious snap of her wings, she shot into the air once more and flew high and fast over the trees... She cleared thef orest, and made it to the stone wall enclosing the temple of the Blue Mage. She smiled and landed easily. The doors opened for her, with a simple word. Once inside, she looked around. Then saw it.

OOC: And where have I been lately...busy...apologies too.

Laitina: Furnace?

Kato: Place where you burn stuff.

Laitina: Oh...how can that be?

Kato: I guess you have visitors now.

She became nervous. She had never dealt with something like this before alone. She was not sure if she wanted to take the responsibility of being the forest's master and guardian.

Kato: Are you alright?

Laitina: Yeah...it's just that I never expected for people to cross this place so soon and settle.

Both realized that they haven't slept for a few days now, unconsciously walking upwards to the top of the forest at the foot of the mountain. Distracted by each other's company their minds drifted away from their present problems.

Kato: I think someone with a long range scope of vision must've seen this place, now beautiful.

This was the first time she had been up since before the forest carried on the disease. The expansive view brought back memories that she chose not to share at the moment. And a sigh came over hear breath and her head shook.

Laitina: I'm not sure what I should do. Confront them or let them be?

Kato: Well, look at us right now. We look normal. Let's just walk up and see if they have good intentions or not.

Laitina: Yeah, good intentions to take all this fresh wood and use it for their buildings.

Kato: We will see...

Kato pushed himself up and started walking.

Laitina took one last look at the forest that she was living in for so many years. In her mind, she took a photo of it, because, to her, it was the last time she might see it again this way. Pure, untouched, peaceful. She stood and caught up with Kato, seeming small next to him, even though she had the experience.

She bit her lip, looking back at the trees. She felt afraid. Laitina hadn't felt like this for centuries. She didn't want it to disappear. It couldn't disappear, it just couldn't.

"Do you think it will disappear, Kato?" She asked worriedly, glancing back multiple times behind her.

"It might." He replied truthfully. "Although, I wish the best."

Laitina sighed, as she continued up the hill. In her heart, she already felt the tall trees of her forest fall, the leaves crackle and burn at the wrath of merciless industry and fire. She felt the image of her spring disappear. The gentle flow of the river, the calm breeze. It all felt so far away.

She glanced at the sky, the clouds seemly painted by the sun. It helped clear her mind. As so did the company of Kato. Then another thought struck her. What would she do if her forest disappeared? Where would she go? Just then, she felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned immediately, all her thoughts disappearing.

"Calm down. Don't worry so much." He reassured, smiling then heading towards a tree.

Laitina let out another sigh, relaxing a little and following him.

"I guess you're right."

Kato grinned, and glanced around, putting his hands in his pocket. Just then, he felt his stomach grumble.

She pushed back her thick black hair...and watched him sleep. He looked very calm, the picture of innocence. The female nephil braided it slowly, twisting it over and under, and the winding it down. A few loose strands fell forward across her face, and she smiled. Her wings hunched down behind her, refusing to give her away as a true nephil.

Taking one step forward, she leaned down and looked at him closely. Then she tapped his lips with her index. Nothing. Just as she suspected. He was real...not a homunculus. Good. It was much easier than tramping around the entire temple, looking for him. She took a few steps back and concentrated.

Kato: Do you know the place where the smoke is coming from?

Laitina thought about it for a while. He waited patiently.

Laitina: Well, from how thin the smoke was, I'm guessing that someone put out their fire recently. A lot of the wind always comes from away the mountain, out into the wastelands.

She stopped, as did Kato. She looked around while they were still in the moderately high elevation, looking for anything different about the forest.

Laitina: Nothing yet, maybe they took camp against the mountain to shield themselves against the conflicting elements of dry and cold gathered here.

Kato: We should keep going then...and hope I don't turn into a unicorn.

Laitina: I guess, if you do, I can help your animal form so you don't go out of control. Who knows? Maybe we'll find something quicker if you give me a ride. I don't think you have any violent tendencies...at least I haven't seen any.

Kato: Don't worry about me, I have no reasons to do bad things.

Laitina: Let's hope so.

Laitina walked ahead of Kato as they trailed down the mountainside, back into the deep forest. Both knew something was here and she knew a lot of good hiding places against the mountain's walls...she kept a smile to herself. There was more company than she expected to be in such a short time...

Note: I was not in the sign up, but I was personally asked to make a few guest appearances. I just want to clear up any confusion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He had rested in the powerful arms of slumber for an eternity, cradled like an infant. Lezaza stirred restlessly in his own dreams, haunted by faces of the past, souls he had torn away from mortal prison, children he had murdered. Even the innocent reared their heads to heap upon him a sample of their misery. The blue sorcerer was a guest in his own personal hell.

For nearly a millennia, he thought he was in hell paying penance for his crimes against the living. The dead swarmed around him like starving locusts. That's when an angel called his name. At first, it was barely discernible underneath his own pitiful cries of agony. But, it grew louder, matured from a whisper to a plea. That voice became his world, a beacon of light that would guide him through the bleakness of a reality his own mind had created to destroy him.

Soon, despair left him. Reality beckoned him forth, craved to hear his gospel once more. A finger touched his lips. He kissed it and it withdrew quickly. Lezaza's eyes fluttered upon like window blinds, the light pierced his eyes. Everything was blurry. He wasn't certain if he lie in Heaven or Hell....or somewhere in-between. The musky smell of his chamber filled his nostrils. His body had been preserved through the magic running through his veins. Not even death or time could take him.

All at ones, the world's infants began to wail and scream. Their pure souls, untainted by maturity or shame. They could feel his presence the best next to nature. Animals ceased to graze, began to rampage about mindlessly. They could smell and taste his evil in the elements.

Lezaza half sat up, resting on his elbow. Much of his strength had yet to return. Slumber had made his limbs weak and his powers dull. But, his spirits welled when he saw her, the one that had summoned him forth....Nepenthe. She was cool and calm, a statue in and of herself. But, she rushed to his side. It was the moment she had awaited for three boring posts.

*slaps hand to forehead* You are embarassing me...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nepenthe sighed with surpressed angst. She had traveled five thousand miles to awaken a magician with a libido....and a name like Lazaza.
He sat up and looked at her again. Her face was inches from his, but her whole being extuded the aura of the untouchable. Perhaps it was the smell of stone she gave off, or the iced-over silver eyes. But either way, he didn't move. She looked at him closely. The wear of a thousand year cold sleep was still upon him, and she didn't have the time. With a swift movment, she pressed her lips against his. Magic flowing between the physical and psi links she created.
Then she drew back, and he stared at her once more. Not a bad awakening on his part.
Nepenthe: ....why me?
Nelynn sheathed her metallic sword with a soft clang. She then laced up the few remaining leather bags that lay before her. The pale sylph stood and stretched her arms high over her head, a ripple going down her back. The sylph attached the pouches to her belt, they were a bit heavy, she'd have to trade them away quickly.
Setting her pallid hand on her leather bound hip, Nelynn looked around at her surroundings. A few dead Orc warriors, damn things made too much noise in the brush. A shattered ivory sarcophagus with a few old bones laying near it, the Goddess' remains. Nelynn had stripped the fallen Lady of Dawn of all her precious stones and magical belongings. She had even taken the now disgraced Goddess' emerald necklace for her own. Why should Nelynn fear her, the magic in the old crone had long since vanished. The pure magic which makes up the blood of the immortal Gods, leaves a disgraced body after 4,000 years. Enka, had been dead over 16,000. Reprocussions were out of the question.
Nelynn cocked her head back and yawned widely, tasting the smells in the dying forest. She was about to exhale when she tasted the scent of a unicorn, nearby, and living no less. Nelynn shut her mouth and smiled wickedly.
Nelynn: A unicorn's horn, fresh from the kill. That would fetch a fortune at market. Then again, I could also use it for my own will.
The sylph smiled to herself, fangs slightly visible under her uper lip. She spread her magnificent wings and lifted high off into the air, straight towards the sky. Neylnn stopped right beneath the tree canopy, and rested softly on one of the top branches of a nearby sycamore. She peeled back a few scraps of bark and began to chew on them, taking a swig of buckleberry wine while she did. When she had finished her meal, Nelynn crouched low onto the branches and shifted into her mammal form, her wings disappearing. She scoffed at her own sight.
Nelynn: Augh, what are these things called again? Humans? What is the point of their existence? They are short, a good foot and a half shorter than the sylphves, their eye sight is poor, their hearing is worse. And, ugh, gol blimey, they give off the scent of man so strongly that not even a dwarf in the pits of the Earth would not be able to detect them!!
Nelynn choked back any more words as she heard bushes rustling beneath her. Then, the sounds stopped. Five minutes past, and nothing. Snap! A twig most likely no bigger than a jewel was broken directly beneath Nelynn. The immortal sylph flung her self from the branches, her human form melting away into her regal sylph body. In a quick moment she landed next to the two traveling beasts, and with the quick push off from the ground she gave, Nelynn rocketed back out of sight, the staff she used for the vault, stuck in the ground next to the stunned creatures.
The two travelers stared at the staff in wonder and amazement. The jewel atop it, a yellow lime color began to glow and flash very very slowly. It's pace did not quicken for nearly thirty entire seconds. By that time, Nelynn was already on her way down from the jump. The two travelers, one half elf, the other, the prized unicorn, were watching with wide eyes as it flashed bright lime then faded to pine, many times, faster and faster. Soon it flashed so fast that only the elf could still see it flashing, the unicorn saw only a bright lime light. After 10 seconds more, the elf's mouth dropped as the light ceased flashing and became one pure light of green. As it did, a white web was exulted from the stone, it grew and grew, encasing the two travelers. Nelynn could see them now, 5 more seconds, and she would be upon them. The webbing formed a huge half orb around the two, digging into the earth and encasing them. Three more seconds. The two travelers' mouths were now fully open. Two more seconds. Their eyes could not be any more wide. One more second. A flash of white light blazed through the forest, blinding any who looked upon for a number of minutes. Nelynn smiled and opened her eyes as she landed with an almost inudible thud on the unicorn's back. She giggled triumphantly to herself. Petrified. She softly stroked the silky fur of her prey, and smiled wider, bearing her teeth. She leapt off the back of the unicorn and grabbed her staff from the ground. The two never saw it hit them.
OOC:I'd like to ask Juuthena and Rico to please, NOT post, until I post again. I have a follow up, and I promise, your beloved characters' safety, however it would be too long to add onto this, and I realize how annoying it is to read extremely long posts. Anyways, as soon as someone else posts in this thread, I will post the follow up.
Jenica: Very well done.
The orc/man held up a half finished basket for her to view. She smiled and handed him another bundle of dried out palmetto leaves. He groaned.... Not only was the smell intoxicating, the jagged edges were painful. Jenica smiled to herself and continued weaving her next blanket. Back and forth, never ending. Every so often, she would stand and stir the cauldron over the fireplace. The smell of fresh venison stew filled the air, but she knew it wasn't ready yet.
Rinalph: When will it be done again?
Jenica: Two days.
Rinalph: ...*drool* Life sucks...
Jenica: LIFE IS WONDERFUL! You say it right now!
Rinalph: L-l-life....is...
Jenica: ...do it or die.
He cringed and obeyed. She pointed the shuttle at him acusingly....for lack of empty fingers and yelled out the next part.
Jenica: From now on...you have to say, "LIFE IS WONDERFUL!" every night before you go to bed!
Rinalph: Okay. *wince*
Jenica: ...that's better.
Laitina's foot slid down the dry leaves of the forest, slightly loosing her footing. Kato followed, having a slightly easier trip down than she was. He reached his hand out to her, and Laitina grabbed it immediately, grasping a tree as the sliding slowly subsided. She let out a sigh, and glanced down at the rest of the mountainside, which was not as steep as their last.
"Rough trip?" Kato asked, chuckling as he waited for her to get up.
Laitina cleared her throat and rose, her footing still awkward.
"Just lost my footing." She replied narrowly.
She looked down at the remainder of the steeper parts of the mountain, and took a deep breath. It had been such a while since she had done this. Perhaps a little too long...
Kato smirked, and followed her down. He knew this trip wouldn't be too easy for her. Just then, he felt a jolt strike his mind, his eyes snapping open as he clenched his head. As the pain faded, he put his hands back at his side, and continued walking down, shaking his head at the jolt.
Kato: Ugh...
Laitina: Are you alright?
Kato: Yeah...it was weird...like something happened to me, but it really didn't...at least not yet.
Laitina: What are you talking about?
Kato: I- I don't know...we were walking in the forest in our other forms and something jumped on me and hit me.
Laitina: That's weird...are you sure you're alright?
Kato: Yes...nothing to worry about unless I turn back and we ride into the forest.
Laitina: I'm curious...if that were to happen, what then?
Kato: I dunno, look up a lot.
They continued walking. Laitina hung her head and stared at the moving ground in front of her feet.
Laitina: I'm worried. What if it does happen?
Kato: I'm sure you'll turn into a stone and have her land on it.
Laitina: Her? :therock:
Kato rechecked his thoughts. He just blurted it out without thinking. Could it be a premonition to the things that will come? He wasn't sure, but he was now aware that something or someone in the forest was looking to see what had happened.
Kato shrugged and said nothing.
Laitina: It'll be dark soon...and we won't make it down to the forest floor in time.
Kato: Do you think we should camp?
Laitina: Let's find a safe secluded place so no one'll catch us off guard.
They walked, Kato following Laitina down the light mountain trail. They didn't know if his little "flashforward" was going to be true so they prepared their minds for any surpises that would come.
The sun began to fall towards the desert. They set camp before the bright lights completely went out. They found a spot behind a small thicket of trees and foliage of the bushes, which were untended for years.
Laitina had the expertise on survival, being this was her home. They split up and gathered rocks and pieces of wood laying on the ground. As an option, if they found something that was edible, that would be preferable too.
When the sun finally went down and the moon showed itself, they met back up, arranged the wood and rocks, and started a small fire. Neither of them found anything more than a few frost berries growing nearby.
Kato opened up his hand by the fire to show her what he found. Her eyebrows raised.
Laitina: This is it?
Kato: It's all I found lying on the ground. I hope we can eat it.
Laitina: Give me them...
He handed the small beads over to her and brushed away the white dust that hid the true reddish skin. She picked out and threw the poisionous ones. What was left were 7 berries to share and feast over.
Laitina: Sorry, I hope this is okay. I know it's not like what you have for supper wherever you lived before.
Kato pops one of the berries in, munching on it carefully, and sorting through the different tastes in his mouth.
Kato: *chew* Not bad...I don't mind at all...at least I'm not starving to death.
Laitina: I suppose you're right...
She looked delighted to finally have company after so many years. Too bad her eyes began to feel lazy, struggling to keep open. She put on a look of worry.
Laitina: Uh-oh...Kato?
Her breathing quickened...Kato got up and circled the fire to see what was wrong with her. He sat next to her and put his hand on her shoulder.
Kato: What's going on?
Laitina: I know I sorted through our food carefully...
Poisoned...*cough* Kato felt the effects beginning to dawn on him too and he began to perspire, tears of pain streaming down his face.
Laitina: We're in trouble. If someone doesn't find us, we might not wake.
Kato: Has this *pant* ever happened to you?
She shook her head and fell unconscious...
Kato: Lai...tina?
Kato's memory faded into black.
Nelynn bit her lower lip in disgust.
Nelynn: I know better than that. Why was I being so damn cocky? I knew that unicorn halflings can shift time to save themselves from any immideate danger.
Nelynn growled in the back of her throat, but ceased quickly. The forest was dangerous at night, even for an immortal. It would be best not to attract the attention of a Redcap or Phooka.
The sylph leapt to a nearby vine and began swinging herself through the forest, trying to think of a way to capture the unicorn halfling and the elf he traveled with.
Nelynn was so busy thinking about the unicorn and elf that she did not even notice when she ran out of vines, until her feet touched the damp grass of the clearing. The sylph landed in a crouched position with a soft thump. However, it was apparently not soft enough, for Nelynn heard a scream like that of a banshee, accompanied with the rearing of a horse, it's hooves beating the air fiercely. Upon pure instinct, Nelynn grabbed her staff, and screamed a freezing spell into the night air.
Nelynn: TEYR NIE LEIE ENTA LEIN!!
Tiny, white, marble-sized bubbles shot forth from the stone atop the staff, piercing the midnight sky, and shooting through the trees, encasing the nearby 20 feet in a huge dome, and slowing anything they touched. As the bubbles' wrath slowed, they hooked themselves to the nearest object. This gave the affect, of thousands of tiny stars suspended in the air, illuminating the surrounding 20 feet, and everything within it.
Nelynn replaced 5 amethyst stones back into her leather pouches. Nelynn had placed them in a star-formation around herself, they sheilded her from the spell's powerful magic. She stood now, and walked towards the edge of the clearing. Nelynn was astonished at her luck, to find the elf and unicorn halflings, both petrified, fear etched on their faces. Upon closer inspection, Nelynn found blood red stains on their fingers, and she could easily see their veins, which were glowing orange, through their skin.
Nelynn: Frost berries..
Kato gasped for air as he shot up from where he'd been laying. His eyes snapped open, he gasped again, this time in amazement, to find he had returned to his human form. Eyes wide, Kato stood. The furs that had been covering him, dropped to the floor, which was granite. He was in a cave, and he was..
Kato: I'M NAKED!!
Kato, blushing, wrapped himself in furs, and sat back down, his cheeks a deep scarlet. He was beginning to calm down, when he heard someone laugh behind him. He spun around quickly, to see Nelynn smiling, one eyebrow cocked, handing him a bowl of mushrooms and ripe green ferns. She herself, was holding a leg of meat, roasted to perfection.
Kato: Who are you? and WHY AM I NAKED?!
Nelynn: It's been a while since I last found a man that I did not eat, and especially one who was so well endowed.
Kato's head and shoulders flushed a deep red.
Kato: Are you serious? You raped me?!
Nelynn: Call it what you like darling, you weren't complaining before.
The sylph set the bowl at Kato's feet, stood, and walked to the other side of the cave, where she poured crystal water in a bowl, which she set by the side of the sleeping elf.
He sighed and groaned. Life is Wonderful?
What a pushy dame.
Rinalph: It's not fair...
Jenica: Stop comlaining.
Siren: Hey look!
The two younger people turned up and looked to where her claws were pointing. A huge flare of magic swooped up, ....not from any human, but from the forest itself. Immediatly, Jenica ran into the house and grabbed her slingblade from the weapons rack. Rinalph adjusted his armour, and Siren flexed her wings experimentally.
Jenica: Could it be Nepenthe?
Siren: It's too close by. My guess is the sylph got to some poor defenseless beasts.
Rinalph: ...let's go then.
The young female quietly closed her eyes and let her spine crackle and snap. Immediatly, she reformed from a human into a full blown loup garou. She shreiked and howled, rearing onto her hind legs. Siren jerked her head, indicating her back, and Rinalph climbed on carefully. The three leapt off into the trees, moving quickly.....
OOC:Thanks Rai..
Kato: Something is coming..
Nelynn: I know, 'rouse the elf, this could be dangerous..
The sylph drew her blade from her back and crept behind a rock nearest the cave entrance. She could smell a wolf. IN the back of the cave, Kato was helping a not yet awoken Laitina into safe hiding. Nelynn took another breath of air. They were close, very close, and... oh god, an Orc was with them! Nelynn covered her delicate nose to block the horrible smell. She took a breath and held it.They would be upon her in a few seconds. SNAP There it was!
Nelynn ran from her hiding place, slashing the air with her blade. She heard a loud crash and a crumpling of metal as her blade struck. The Orc fell to the forest floor, his armor slit on the shoulder. Nelynn swung again, her blade was met by that of another female, Siren. With a devestating crunch, the two swords crackers, and clattered, broken, to the forest floor. Leaving it behind, Nelynn dueled with the woman until she had a chance to escape her blows, at which point she was met by the werewolf.
Jenica: Stop sylph!
Nelynn: Never..
Nelynn physically clashed with the werewolf, fists and claws meeting, while generous blood was spilt on the dirt, staining it a deep black. Kato and Naitina were having troubles of their own. Until..
Naitina: Jenica?!
The confused were wolf looked up, locking eyes with the half elf, meanwhile, Nelynn cracker her knuckles along Jenica's jaw. The sylph stopped when she saw the two recognized one another.
Jenica silently controlled her rising bloodlust. Then she gave in, and rose to her feet, in full halfwolf form, and looking like a murderer.
Nelynn: Oh Jah....
Jenica: How dare you lay hands on me!
The sylph shuddered, and shrank back. The scent of sweet fur and roses was heavy in the air....and somehow, the small werewolf had gotten taller.....almost 6 feet....and the gleam in her eyes was terrible.
Suddenly, she shrank back down into her small human size...and looked at Nelynn.
Jenica: You captured these two life forms against their will, and raped one of them without his consent. Let them go.
Siren: How did you...?
Jenica: ....do it sylph.
Rinalph rose to his feet. Whatever had hit him had hit him hard and well. He removed his armour. The blow had left it constricting and metal jags cutting into the new wound. He prised it off and tossed it to one side. For good measure he threw the helmet next to it. All that was left of his ancient armour was from the waist down.
Feeling much better, Rinalph picked up his sword from where it had fallen and sheathed it. The conversation seemed much more interesting now that he was standing. The flow of his black orcish blood stemmed and stuck to his cotton shirt.
The sylph opened her mouth, then shut it again...
Neylnn: Who are you?
Jenica: The guardian to the Forest of the Ages. Sent to earth by Jah to protect this place....and right the wrongs done in it.
Siren: .....holy shît.
Latina: I knew it....
Kato: You didn't know she was...?
Jenica: Nobody but Nepenthe knew. But now...I suppose....my cover is blown.
She smiled up at all of them, then walked over to Nelynn again and touched her forehead. She automatically fell forward into a deep sleep, then Jenica turned around to face the others. She waved at them cheerfully then walked out of the cave into the sunlight.
Siren swore and stalked out of the cave after her, tail twitching...
Siren: I suppose Nepenthe had her reasons... But this?
She shook her head...
Siren: I need to talk to her... I don't suppose you'll tell me where she is... But I'll track her...
She paced restlessly... She cracked her back and streatched her wings...
Jenica: Wait...
Siren turned and fixed her with one piercing amber eye...
During her sleep, Kato and Laitina used her diverted attention to crawl right next to the wall. Groggy and in discomfort, with one hand holding the cloak that covered his body, she placed a hand on his shoulder and rocked him away from the shock. Kato's head hung low and his eyes closed, body closed as much as possible.
Laitina: ...it's me. Oohh, what's been happening?
They looked towards the cave enterance where their captor was.
Kato: ...the tall girl took me and broke me during my groggy state and took my clothing. I'm a mess...
Kato closed up his body and hid his head, still tired from the punishment his body had to endure.
Laitina: ...these people are crazy, they can't just walk in and claim this place as their own just because it's been restored.
Laitina looked around for a way. ...she thought about shifting into it...then...perhaps into something else to use when they finished their planning.
Laitina: Can you use a weapon?
Kato: I have training in the staff and some archery skill.
This was good for both of them. At least they had a plan that had a chance of succeeding. And they could retreat to a safe place to recover.
The sylph woke and stood, spotting the two huddled by the corner and advanced towards them with an angry face and heavy steps...
Nelynn: What are you doing?...
Both stopped and looked foward at her piercing stare...Laitina whispered one last thing...
Laitina: You'll be fine...we'll recover. Be patient.
They broke their stare and waited for what seemed to be a long time. The sound of a hard slap hit his ears, but he didn't feel it. He felt Laitina's head and shoulders resting on his left knee.
Kato: What did you do that for??
Nelynn: I don't know what you two are still doing here, but you should've used your time to escape.
