James
Well, yesterday I took a shot and bought the latest album by Jakatta. I'd heard a couple of remixes and really didn't know what to expect. Boy was I surprised. At first, it was kind of a negative thing. Jakatta's music is extremely mellow and relaxed. But it is also very original. And tonight I spent all night listening to the album over and over while working on artwork. It's really relaxing and with headphones, you notice so many unique little sounds and added elements. Does anyone else here like Jakatta? And I mean the original music, not the remixes. A few songs I recommend for download are:

It Will Be
My Vision
So Lonely
Feeling Blue
American Dream
And I have one other thing to say about some of these songs. When you first listen you might think "what the hell?" and not like it at all. I had the same reaction. But I encourage you to wait and listen. One of these tracks has music that reminds me almost of Final Fantasy VII and it's a strange mix of styles. If you're after some more original electronic music, I highly recommend Jakatta. ^_^
Shinobi
Jakatta! Man! Yeah i know, 'em. I like 'em too. James
Yep, the original version of American Dream is very cool. I like the drums, they have a very crisp sound. And the video for it is pretty damn awesome as well. ^_^
Bing
Is 'My Vision' recorded with a singer called Seal? I'm not sure, if it is with Seal, then I know that track, and it's quite popular over here! It's featured on all those 'Chillout' albums. Their songs are very relaxing after a stressful day. James
Yep. It's the one with Seal. Good, isn't it? When I first heard it I didn't really like the start...but I like the chorus. I think his voice really suits the song (and I was never a Seal fan, so there you go lol). It's nice to listen to uplifting music...considering my sister is always playing death metal or rap with plenty of swearing and depressing themes. lol
Bing
I like that ' My Vision' track. It's pretty good for relaxing, guess why it's on those Chillout albums. Seal has a very strong voice, but like you James, I was never a big either. What's the title of his album? I might try and get a copy of it. James
The title of the album is "Visions". ^_^ Definitely worth a purchase. It was one of the biggest pleasant surprises I've had with music for a while.
Guest cloricus
Hmm. I was going to get very annoyed at you James if it wasn't any good. (Because I'm on 33.6 and I had to dl winmx and winamp and then the song, has now taken over an hour.) But no it's really good, I like their style a lot... I'm getting American Dream at the moment (original) and from what I've heard (I'll check out their others) I think I might go buy their album... :D (It sounds crap if you don't play with your EQ?s though, or that could just be me... ???) That is of course if it?s not like 30$$$$s?.
James
This album sounds best with a big fat pair of headphones. (|^_^|) The sound is just so varied and unique. You really need some good speakers/headphones/earphones to listen to it. I have a pair of those Sony StreetStyle headphones that sit near my computer all the time...and at night I use those so that I don't wake others up with the noise from the speakers. It's great though. Sometimes I prefer listening to music with headphones simply because the sound is so much clearer than regular speakers. Anyway, yeah...American Dream is probably my second favourite. I think I like My Vision best of all. But really, they're all good. I think it's Feeling Blue...there's a melody in the song that reminds me of the Chocobo Ranch in FFVII. lol It's funny...and kind of calming as well. Those who have played FFVII should try it and see what I mean. ^_^
Guest cloricus
I've been listening to the American Dream one and some of the others and I swear I like them more than when I first listened to them, weird... Yeah I'm listening to them on some sweet headphones, don't have any good speakers with me to play them other wise... How much did the cd set you back and was it hard to find?
James
The CD set me back $29 I think. And it's not hard to find. You can go to Sanity or HMV and find it easily. ^_^
Guest cloricus
Cool, I was just about to ask who seal was because you cant find a version without him... Though you answered up the page, he is in the song. Who is he though, I don?t think I've heard of him. Does Jakatta have a web address? (*To cheap to search google...*) Yeah I don't mind them. :D *walks off to sanity*
James
I don't know if Jakatta has a web address. And you've never heard of Seal? Are you kidding? Don't you remember the song "Kissed by a Rose" or whatever from the Batman Returns sountrack? It was a pretty big song when it came out. That was done by Seal.
Guest cloricus
I probably have, but I can't relate his name to any songs. (I have over 3636 songs in my head that I know details about plus lyrics (and more with out details lol) and I have very blurred access to that at the moment...) I can't find a site for them... Yeah just reading your post again that song rings a bell.
