Original Controller, of the 'Compact S'

So, what controller do you prefer? I only have the big, bulky original, which I have to say, I do like alot. I find the button placement just right for my hands.
Having only used the 'Compact S' once, I did like it, but some of the buttons were tricky to reach, especially in the game I was playing (Fifa World Cup 2002).
So, what do you own, and which do you prefer, and why?

I just purchased the "Controller S" and my feelings are a little mixed. It feels nice in my hands compared to the original controller, but the placement of the black and white buttons is a bit odd and the "start" and "back" button location is almost unmanagable for me.

I'll probably continue to use the S controller though. It just edges out the original design. To be sure, I'll have to get a little more time with it.

I don't use my large controller as I feel the buttons are far to close together which can be vital in a game if you press the wrong button. The 'Compact S' I just feel I can grip onto it easier. Buttons are more spread out and I find I can click on start and back button easier when it's under the left analog stick. I also don't have to reach high for the black and white button. Basically I think the 'Compact S' is simply better and looks rather cool as well!

I own the normal big controller but some of the things i have been hearing about the compact s controller sounds really good like the idea about the start and back button being underneath the left analogue stick would be easier than hacing them right in the middle and instead of having the black and white buttons at the top but having them at the bottom would be good. i prefer the compact s controller to the normal big one.

I don't really like either. The bigger one is better for certain games, like Halo... And the smaller is better for nearly everything else.

They actually started selling the Japanese version of the S controller here in America (I guess because they had so much stock since the thing barely sells in Japan). It is slightly different, and I think the buttons are far better feeling.

It doesn't remind me off the Xbox though. I am a big fan of the big controller. But I suppose, I am big, and I have big hands and so it's probably easier for me. I find that I can get a much better grip on the big controller, and smaller ones (Playstation controllers especially) just slip out of my hands if I get too excited in a game. Just ask BigCajones about me and a certain Tony Hawk game...ah the joy!

I also have this gamester controller which is basically the same as the big xbox controller apart from the colour and the buttons on it feel looser. i tried using it to play one of my games but found it very uncomfortable and annoying so i gave my brother it to use and i use the original big black one.

I still must say I would go for the small 'compact S' controller as I am just so used to the PS2 controller it feels the same for me. I may even prefer it to the PS2 one as Start and Back button is right under left analog stick and there is only one left and one right button, so I don't hit the wrong one. I also prefer the white and black button under A,B,X and Y buttons where it isn't on the big controller for X-Box.

Smaller, better looking, easier grip, well placed buttons ... What more can I say? :demon:

Well, I have a tendency to argue, and I think I disagree with your last sentence there. Smaller is obvious, but is that a good thing? Better looking, I disagree. The bulky controller has that lovely plastic bubble with a big X in the background, and the mix of two shades of black looks great. Easier grip, again I disagree, because the compact controller, sharing nearly the same design as the PS2's, is known to fly out of people's hands during a heated game. In my point of view the buttons are fine, but BigCajones, I do understand your point there, as I know you are a frequent user of all three of the top consoles, 2 of the three having small controllers, so it makes life easier, as you don't have to adjust your hold. I like Big. I like Bulky. That controller, for me, IS the only Xbox controller.
