Tommy Vercetti Posted December 29, 2002 Share Posted December 29, 2002 I read in my magazine that there are rumours about having a new green flourescent (probably spelt that wrong) xbox console or somethin along the lines of that i think it sounds pretty good as most other consoles come in different colours and stuff. so i was wondering if anyone has heard anything about this and what they think? Bing Posted December 29, 2002 Share Posted December 29, 2002 Yes, I heard that a U.K release for a transparent green console to be released.It is to commemorate a one year anniversary of the machine going on sale in the UK. The Japanese have already 2 special edition, where as in the UK, we have seen none. It is also rumoured to be shipped along with a green 'Compact' Controller S. The design takes inspiration from the debug model used by the press to play unfinished games. But, Microsoft haven't spoken about the rumour yet, so who knows! I heard rumours of a 'Silver Edition', that is being released in Japan only, It's completely silver with a black cirlce in the middle. It's only available on Sega's site I believe. It's white with a black jewel in the center. The transparent green Xboxes were only given out to people that work at MS. There are roumours that the central disc on the XBOX is supposed to be a drinks stand...has anybody heard about this???? I haven't seen this Panzer Dragoon X-Box, but if there is one it's got to be on one of the X-Box websites. I think Microsoft should decide to make more colours, but I don't like the sound of the green one .. ewwww sick! This is one of the few actual photos I've seen of it, most places only have concept art. I'm still not sure why the X-Box isn't selling very well to be honest with you. If it's because it's an American console, so Japanese refuse to buy it then that's a bit selfish really. I think it's a brilliant console along with the PS2 and the Gamecube so it should be treated the same! The Xbox PDO looks pretty damn cool i think i prefer it to the transparent green one i have in my magasine.I don't really know whether i prefer the like colour of the xbox now or any of the new designs. If i could choose i would probably have had the xbox PDo design and colour as i think it looks pretty smart and white is quite a nice colour for a console. I think an accessorie, like a removable and interchangable jewel would be great, because you could change it to suit your mood. So yes I would of wanted a different colour, but really I'm not too bothered at all as I don't class my consoles as fashion items. Maybe if it was pink I would get a bit worried, but that's about it. I don't see why they do things like this so late, because I would of been attracted to get one yes, but too late now (plus it's not even being released in England). They should bring out some of these consoles from the beginning. I managed to get a limited edition gold controller for the N64 that's about it. I think it would be a bit ignorant if people just bought a console for the different designs, but it may help out a decision between two consoles I suppose.
