Juu
Lauren, (Yu Yu), You've posted your sign-up three times. Twice in the actual thread. When I asked you to post, I ment you to post the writing, not the sign up... This is where you post your writing... Please edit your post. ---------- The fellowship started up the trail of the Misty Mountains. The air was already thickening as the mist and fog began to throttle up ahead. Mysterious caws were sound in the distance. The travelors slowed their horses with much caution. The trail was rigid, yet managable to the horses. "Do you see anything up ahead?" Strider questioned, leaning over to Ryan. "I see nothing." He replied, putting his hand to his forehead. "Nothing but fog." They walked blindly through the mist. Their clothes were dampened bt he wet, heavy air. Neither a light or a cliff was seen ahead. Even their own hands could not be seen in front of them. Ryan stopped and looked up ahead. "What is it?" Strider asked as the footsteps ahead of him stopped. "These trees... They are not those of Rivendell..." "Neither are these markings." Legolas pointed out, gesturing to a text enscribed into a large wood. Ryan moved up, and swung one leg above the other, getting off his horse. He laid his finger apon the markings, and studied them carefully. Sighing as he rose, a form of slight regret reached his eyes. "We are amongst the borders of Goblin-Town. We must turn around quickly. I believe we made a wrong turn in the dark ceders of the forest..."
tursi
Winter stopped her horse, she sighed. i knew i should've gone on my own, but i have to have respect...up to a point. Winter: (whispers to herself.) if we don't leave now we're going to be ambushed. Winter turned her horse and carefully started beck the way we came. She whispered into her horses ear, trying to keep her calm. Ril rode up to her. Ril: winter, why aren't you waiting for the rest of the group. Winter: because i'm impacient when it comes to big groups. so i'm going to scout up ahead, i'll give a signal if i see anything to warn about. Ril: ok, be careful. He rode back up to the group. Winter slowed her horse down and rubbed her neck. then walked her down the mountian side. she listened carfully to everything around her. she could feel things moveing in the forest, hopefully the others could to, she wasn't that far away from them yet. Then her horse stopped. Winter: (whispers) what is it girl? The horse was quivering under her. she wouldn't move one more step ahead. she sighed and armed her self with her bow and arrows. then waited for the others to catch up. She now was under the pressure of the eyes in the forest, waiting for something to make its move. she was in a bad position. if she alarmed the fellowship, she'd be killed. she lifted her bow and readied her arrow and turned around, the shot it as close as possible to her friends, hopefully they'd understand the signal. then she armed another arrow and waited, she hated to wait. Boba Fett
Abob draws his long knife, and begins to follow the fellowship on its hasty retreat from the edge of Goblin town. Their horses begin to jump and neigh loudly, much to the bewilderment of their riders. Then, out of the surrounding trees come a horde of Goblins, each bearing a curved and jagged sword. ???: "What have we here? Invaders, most likely. Surrender or die." Legolas: "We mean no harm. We got lost and are on our way out of your territory." ???: "Silence filthy Elf. Now surrender or DIE!" The fellowship draws its weapons, since the odds aren't bad enough to warrant delaying their trip, but then a rustling is heard above them. They look up to see at least thirty Goblin archers with notched bows. No order was needed. Each member of the fellowship threw his weapons to the ground. Then the goblins chained them together by the hands and feet to march them off to Goblin town...
Boo
"Surrendering for Goblins..." Aerow said while looking at the sky "Can it get any lower?" "You'll be wishing that you havent been born when we reach the town!" A goblin stepped forward to Aerow and slapped him with the back of his hand. Aerow gave an evil look at the goblin and this one emmidiatelly turned his face and increased his speed. "If only they hadnt chained me. Hmph!" "Even when they hadnt, you couldnt have done anything and you know it. Goblin archers were everywhere!" One of the fellowhsip who was behind him said. "oh well. Ill just take the first chance I get to escape." He now said in elvish.
tursi
Winter heard the distress of the group, and was going to go towards the group but thought diffrent. She couldn't take all those goblins by her self, but where was she going to find help. she went downwards towards a lighter part of the forest to think. Winter: what to do, what to do? ok don't panic. think...they can do it. but they can't get past those archers. what in all of middle-earth can i do? SHe tried to calm herself, and pulled herself together. Winter: i can't go back to riverdell, it would alrm to many people, plus the nazgul are still around. I can't follow the goblins, because he forest is infested with them, and orcs. i can't think! she sighed and pulled out her dagger, and looked at it. Winter: i can't run away, it'll prove that i'm to young to be here. and i' certinly not. She kicked her horse and the horse went back up the trail. half way up she got off her horse and walked trough the trial the goblins took. Winter: they came through here two hours ago. well, i'll just have to catch up.
Sui Generis
Ril walked quietly in the back of the group. His hands were busy at working twisting and turning scraping off flesh and loosening his bonds. He looked around and counted the goblins. There weren't many left, but there were probably still archers in the shadows. He wouldn't make his move just yet. The city...that would be his best bet. He couldn't believe the fellowship fell into this trap. It was a simple trap, goblins did it all the time. He knew he should've said something, but he figured the fellowship had a plan. He sighed. The fellowship had to be more carefull.... Ril leaned forward to the person in front of him, who happened to be Abob. He began whispering softly Ril: I've got a plan..I'm going to need your help. Abob: What? Ril: When we get into the city pay attention to your surroundings, tell me what you see. I'm going to be looking to. The plan is when we stop I'm going to slip out of here. Don't worry I'm not going to run away. I want the goblins to come look for me. These locks are simple, easy to break if I have enough time. If they cause commotion say I went to the North, that seems to be the most populated section. Ril paused for a moment. He wasn't the leader, and he didn't know who was yet. It wasn't right for him to order people around... Ril: Do you think the plan is fine? Will you help me?
Drix D'Zanth
Eonwe stepped onto the eyrie overlooking lythe and the plain of rivendell. His eyes pierced the distance around him revealing, to his dismay, chaos. "Manwe picked a good time to intervene in these events" He stopped speaking to the companion to his right, the gread Eagle Landroval. "Nazgul!", it was a curse of pure hatred ringing below mortal hearing as Eonwe witnessed the darkened individuals encircle a small group of travellers. He mounted Landroval and with a slight gust of wind they decended upon the group to assist. Cautiously Eonwe eyed the group below. 'They've fended them off!' he stared stunned. 'What an extraordinary group!'.
Drix D'Zanth
OOC: whoops pressed enter too soon. IC: It seems as though the unique little group that Eonwe had been eyeing had lost it's luck. The nazgul began to turn back towards them, preparing for another ambush and they had been caught by ... goblins. Once again Eonwe beckoned his trusted ally to sweep down closer. He whispered "do not let the goblin eyes see you, we must prevent the ringwraiths from attacking them" He saw a young elven lady amongst the group silently walking with them. Eonwe lifted his hands, beckoning the winds to swirl around them, "The hand of Manwe and Lady Varda of the stars is with you, do not fear." With a twitch of the wrist the small breeze cascaded towards the young elf.
tursi
Winter stopped and turned, she heard a familiar sound. not again. She hid in the bushes using leaves to cover her scent. then listened. as she heard feet marching. Goblin1: i thought i smelt another, but i guess i was wrong. goblin2: you and your stupid scenses, crazy old goblin. goblin1: hush, maybe we can find more still and have a snack. the 3 goblins nodded and continued down the path. she waited till they were out of hearing distance and stood up. Winter: that was too close. She climbed up a tree and into the shadows. she'll be safer there. she moved swiftly trough the tangled bracnhes. She smiled, she knew all that climbing and sneaking around the council was good for something. She stoped as she heard marching and bickering. Her friends were ahead of her by a mile or so. She wanted to let them know she was ok, but had to wait. she moved closer to the group and heard ril talking about and escape. she smiled, he was a quick thinker. then she got close enough to see the group, when she saw where they were she stoped dead in her tracks, she couldn't help them from in there. Winter:(mumbles.) what am i to do now? She silently climbs down the tree and moves close enough to the group. they stopped to open the gates, she moved in the bushes and looked at ril fidgiting with his lock. she made a whistle, a bird whistle, made by a bird only in riverdell. but the goblins didn't know that. ril heard it along with some of the others. the didn't resopnd but with a change in posture. then she moved back into the shdows and crept away from the goblin city. Juu
Laitina's eyes shut as she began to whisper under her breath. The leaves of the cantopy began to sway at a silent breeze in the air. A goblin eyed her mysteriously. "Beleg wilith orim, Lasto beth daer, Beria ammen anlîn bellas..." The breeze picked up speed and swiftly sped through the top of the forest. The city was within sight, the barren gates heavily guarded by orc-like goblins. The hard, wooden doors dragged open as the fellowship entered. The lead goblin leaped ahead and bowed before a taller Goblin, who was much broader and muscular than the others. "They were in the mists, myyy lord." The tiny goblin hissed, its distorted features jerking as it spoke. "We do not have business here." Strider declared, his voice booming above the high murmurs of the crowd. "We are heading for Caradhras." Elsyan added, speaking clearly. The Goblin-King stepped towards the fellowship. His steps were hard against the cobblestones of the city, definately not a regular goblin. "Caradhras? You are far off the course of the great mountains." Laitina whispered the spell once more. "Beleg wilith orim, Lasto beth daer, Beria ammen anlîn bellas..." (Great winds above me, Listen to the great word, Protect us with your strength...) A wind swept up Elsyan, Aratmacil, and Laitina's hair as the horses neighed and leaped onto their hind legs. The orcs stood back and aimed their weapons, each of the horses neighing at the wind. Strange weather was close. Laitina's eyes narrowed. The spell would protect them. ----------- Yay! *huggles Elvish Dictionary* ^ .^
tursi
Winter watched from above as the trees creeked from the wind, any more of it and she'd fall out. then she heard hooves coming up behind her. it was her horse. Winter: katyia, stay quiet. The horse nodded. winter watched as they enetered the city, she could do nothing but wait. She moved further inot the forest, away from the city until she heard something she looked up and it was gone. Winter: i thought i heard wings.... SHe went back to what she was doing and quitely waited for a rucus to start. then she would ride in and help. OOC: having problems at home, might not be on a while, keep me in. Drix D'Zanth
The party of heros were lead into the great goblin hall, lined with torches blazing from an unholy fuel. The area stank with fetid meat and the smell of goblin, wet goblin in particular. Legolas' nose cringed in slight disgust. Wind began to pour around the group from Latina's spell, the magical energies staying the goblin's wrath. "What is thiss!?!" Blackened spittle was swept up into the wind as the broad goblin cursed his plight. Laitina's mouth pursed slightly, 'How is the spell this strong?'. The energies of the wind grew more intense until the weaker goblins clung to their chairs and pillars surrounding the halls. Those with longer hair found their manes whip around, unruly, as if cast into a vortex. Lightling broke the building asunder and an eagle's cry rung out in the intensity. "Edain and Eldar, make haste and arm yourselved!" The booming voice rang out with a hollow echo, filling the room. The shackes began to glow brightly from within, and with another crack of thunder, they were released the group now freed from the captivity of the vile goblins. The ring of swords being drawn filled the room as the wind died down. The group now faced their enemies with renewed vigor, for a mysterious white-clad warrior now stands among them. tursi
Winter: this is it. The goblins were too baffled to noticed the gate still open and she rode in bow handy and readied. she saw her friends were no longer chained, and someone stood alittle away from them. the goblins all had drawn their swords at the man. her horse moved to the group. Winter: what's going on? Ril: i don't really know. Winter: need weapons? Ril: yeah. She gave him her daggers and watched as a goblin aproached her she pulled back her arrow and was about to shoot when ril held her back, he wanted her to wait for a minute to see what would happen. She nodded and put down her arrow.
Drix D'Zanth
Eonwe stood at the fore of the group. Everyone was shaken by the sheer display of radiance, just as he had anticipated. "Uruk nagaz du atz hageth z'dors suizl" the words spilled out of Eonwe's mouth as easily as he had spoken the eldar tounge. The goblins recoiled, suprised at this outsider fluent in their tounge and warning them with such fury. "Choose your actions carefully or I shall regret defiling my own voice with your cursed language." His eyes beamed with the fury of the Illuvitar as he stared down the proud goblin-cheif. Reacting in usual goblin manner the chieftan began talks by gruftly arming himself with a great schimitar, it's blade notched and rusted from many battles before. "No man, no matter how hard he speaks, will stand in front of Durzing son of Azog!" the thick bodied humanoid roared and charged the his new foe. Blow after blow rung out in front of a stunned audience as Eonwe masterfully parried each attack with only the handguard of the blade, thrusting it foward to intercept the goblin's fell swings. In an instant the goblin thrust forward, attempting to disembowl his evasive foe with strength that no king of men could muster. Another ringing of metal upon metal and Durzing stumbled forward. Eonwe looped is right arm around the goblin in that moment until he fel upon the sheath of Eonwe's sword. Swiftly, with merely a grunt emmiting from Eonwe's foe, he unsheathed his sword allowing the blade to pass directly through his enemy. The goblin chieftan fell to the ground in equal sections, the great sword clanging to the floor. The other goblins stared in amazement. Ril raised an eyebrow as Winter leaned in to face him, "Were you expecting that?" Slowly Ril shook his head, his steely gaze locked upon the individual, 'I suppose it is your move stranger, what other suprises do you keep?' the thought whispered within Ril's concience. Then he remembered the four goblins to the left of him...
tursi
Winter sighed with inticapation. Winter: now? Ril: ok. Winter armed her bow and shot two arrows at one of the goblins as it fell, she armed her bow again and and shot down the oother one. Winter: i'll leave some for you to play with ril. Ril: (smiled) thanks Winter nudged her horse foreward and lantina hopped on and grabed winters extra bow and started shooting one the other side. Sui Generis
Ril looked over at Eonwe for a moment, then gripped his daggers. He quickly sliced to his left, cutting straight through a goblins stomach. It fell to the blood screaming and kicking. Ril's face scrunched up in disgust. He'd never killed anything besides deer and orcs. He held the deer on a higher level than the orc, and normally felt bad for killing it. He quickly held up his two daggers, crossing them, and blocked a sword that was coming for his head. He swiftly kicked the owner's legs from under him and came down with his two daggers impaling the sword bearer. Ril looked over at Winter and saw a goblin attempting to climb up on the back of the horse. Ril took the few yards between the two quickly. He grabbed the goblin by the neck as it was reaching the top. He quickly choked the goblin for a moment then threw it to the ground. He then quickly stabbed it. Winter: "Thanks..." Ril nodded and continued fighting. He slide on his feet easily. He moved the daggers quickly causing mis-direction and confusing the goblins.
tursi
winter got off the horse and let lantina ride her around, she liked to fight on lond better anyway. she ran over to legolas and handed him her bow and a extra arrows. legolas: don't you need these? winter: no, i've got other tools. she showed him her hidden short sword. winter: it comes in handy. Legolas nodded and started to fight. she pulled out her sword and took off a goblins head, she let out a cry of joy, this is what she loved to do best. she turned around to see the new comer and she smiled, he reminded her of someone she knew. She kept fighting. Winter: theres no end to them. strider: do you know where our weapons are? Winter: i think they should be but the armory area, but it'll take to long, take the goblins up and fight. strider: yes i know that. winter: then do it. Drix D'Zanth
The cool metal of Eonwe's blade felt somehow right. Centuries of inaction by the Valar unleashed in a copulance of fury in battle. The Maiar spun across the room cutting the goblins that lay before them. He let the blade spin with it's unbridled fury, the purest of Aule's metals shone with a light of their own easily cleaving goblins in two. He watched the horse whiney and gallop towards a small group of enemies toppling them over. Out of the corner of his eye, Eonwe saw the young elven maiden (whom he only knew as daughter to Legolas) fight with stunning prowess. Inside the chamber, the great wooden doors opposite of the entrance began to rattle and clank. Splinters rained from the cracks quickly forming within the thick logs. Suddenly the doors burst asunder and a thick paw stepped out. A low growl emmitted from the fanged maw of the creature. "Child of Chalchroth... a warg." Eonwe emitted. The first of the five wargs that entered the room lept at the daughter of legolas. Fast as a gust of wind Eonwe stood before her. Bracing himself by sliding his right leg behind him he raised his sword to face the leaping creature. The sword plunged deep into its chest, the viscious liquid warming his pale hands. The beast began to struggle against the blade until, with a deep heaving of its chest, it fell dead. Eonwe slid his blade out of the carcas. "Eldu aith wayeth(be careful)," he whispered softly to the elf behind him. He then charged forward to meet his next foe
Sui Generis
Ril ducked as a sword wnt slicing in the air. The sword missed his head by inches. He grinned and shoved a dagger into the goblin. It fell down to the ground covered in blood. He continued fighting swiftly dodging the swords as the came flying by. His hands were soaked red with the blood of the goblins. He heard a crash and saw the wargs come in. He watched as Eonwe helped Winter. Ril: What was that he said...it was elven... Ril shook his head. He watched as more and more wargs piled in. There was no way that Eonwe could take them on his own. Ril had to help. He crosed his daggers above his head as a sword came bearing down on him. He grunted slightly at the force of the blow, but was able to hold the sword with his daggers. He quickly kicked the goblin's legs out from under him. As the goblin fell Ril impaled the goblin in its chest. The goblin fell dead before it hit the ground. Ril gripped his daggers tightly. He took a deap breath then ran towards the wargs. He quickly side stepped attacks from the goblins, but the path towards the wargs was relatively clear. As he got closer he picked a warg in the middle of the pack as his target. He ran and jumped onto its back. Before the warg had time to react Ril quickly jabbed both daggers right between the wargs shoulder blades. The warg screamed in pain and starting flailing violently. Ril regained his balanced and gripped the daggers tighter. He couldn't let go, if he did he was dead. Ril's ribs began to burn as the constantly banged against the wargs back. Ril ignored his pain as a slight grin of victory stretched over his face. His plan was working. The warg was hitting his companions as it flailed attempting to get Ril off its back. Soon the wargs were fighting amongst themselves. Ril was ontop of a mass of bodies. Thats all you could see. It was impossible to tell one warg from eachother as they faught in their own confusion.

tursi
Winter turned around and sliced off a goblins head. She smiled, content with her self. She loooked over to see how the others were doing, they were doing fine. She looked around to see the goblins that were around her had disappeared. She made a confused face. Winter: this can't be good. She looked up and from the wall top she saw a nice sized rock falling towards her. She doged it, and tried to find out where it came from. then another fell towards her. the goblins were throwing stuff at her. She picked up one of the rocks and threw it back up at them, then she got struck in the head with one and blacked out. (sorry about the short post.) Juu
Laitina whirred around, and shot an arrow through the head of a goblin. Looking down with discust, Laitina instantly fell off her horse. A goblin pounced in front of her, clawing at the ends of her dress. Its soil-covered hands sauntered apon the dirt ground, holding a spear in its right hand. Laitina squirmed back towards the tree, seeing her weapons were with Narendil, her horse... "Darthadan!" Laitina exclaimed, feeling the bark of the tree at her fingers. (Stay back!) The goblin hissed, as its lips curved into a menacing curl. Her eyes narrowed as she glared at the goblin. It was but six feet from her. She had time, for the spear was far too heavy for the creature to carry. Laitina searched for any debris on the ground. Perhaps it would abide her some time until it reached her...
Flash
With a stride ten-fold that of any Man, and standing taller than any Troll, a lone Ent marched southeast through the dark undergrowth on the outskirts of Mirkwood. He quickly came to the River Anduin, and with his long, entwined legs, crossed without a second thought. The trees were thinner around here, and he liked to be near the mountains. Oh, how overjoyed he was to be returning to Fanghorn forest! It had seemed like an age since he was last there. With an outreach of his long, lengthy arm, the Ent pulled himself up onto a rock pillar, protruding from the ground. He looked across the horizon, catching a glimpse of Lorien beyond the Gladden fields. His eyes shone, and he spoke to himself, his slow, loud voice echoing across the plains. Oakenwillow: I should very much like to visit the Lady of the Golden Wood. I have gone far too long without the company of the Elves of Lothlorien! Oakenwillow, guardian of the Ents, knew not of the strife that had forsaken Middle Earth in recent times. For nearly seventy years he had wandered the Easternlands, his travels bringing him much strife of his own. He had earned a few more scars, but was all the more experienced. All the while, news of Sauron and the One Ring had not reached him, and he remained unaware. He strode onwards, his pace quickening with the image of Lorien in mind. Ahead, he caught sight of Goblin-Town. It seemed some sort of conflict had arisen there, from what he could make out. He pondered the situation to himself, and carried on. He didn't like Goblins much at all, but couldn't bring himself to pass it by. With large steps, Oakenwillow cleared rock and hill with ample pace, and amazing agility for such a gigantic creature. In a short while, the Ent reached the borders of Goblin town. There were many trees scattered about the place, and Oakenwillow found it quite easily to remain stealthy, weaving in and out of trees, moving slowly. He didn't like to meddle in the affairs of others, and remained in the distance when he could. From here he could see everything very clearly. There was a company of Men and Elves, and even a Dwarf, fighting a host of Goblins. It was clear that the Goblins were keeping the company captive, as he could see shackles and broken binds strewn across the field. By the looks of it, the company had broken free, and were now battling their way out of the Goblin's grasp. Oakenwillow knew that if he were to act, it would have to be now. Oakenwillow: Alas! I shall strike now! Bounding through the spread of trees, the massive Ent quickly felled two Goblins with a swift swing of his Iron-clad right arm. At once, the company of travellers as well as the Goblin hosts ceased their combat, and turned to face Oakenwillow, in both awe and fear. Few Goblins with crudely-made bows released a small volley of arrows and the Ent, all of which stuck harmlessly in his thick, bark skin. His voice boomed into Goblin town, and all the way across the Great river Anduin. Oakenwillow: Lay down your weapons, Goblin! They complied, driven by fear. A few braver, larger Goblins refused, and charged at the Ent, who met them with his heavy foot, crushing them, or kicking them far into Goblin town. This, of course, embued even more fear into the hearts of the lesser Goblins, who promptly fled from the battle. Oakenwillow chuckled wholeheartedly, and shifted his gaze down to the Company he had saved. Oakenwillow: It would seem that the Goblins would rather risk being slain by your company, than face the wrath of an Ent! What folly! Give me a host of Orcs, I say, for I would gladly crush them, wither they fight or flee! The company was slow to respond. But finally, one spoke, moving out from under the cover of a tree. She was an elf, fair, and held a bow at the ready, aiming it at Oakenwillow. Laitina: What business do you have with us, Tree Shepard? Oakenwillow: Why, fair Elf maiden. You have not yet spoken to me of your name! Pray tell, so that I may introduce myself also. Laitina: Hasten your reply! Oakenwillow frowned, and his eyes shone no longer. He had left Middle Earth during a time of peace, where none were quick to anger, and friends were many. But now it seemed that war, and the suspicion that went with it had made its way back to the land he loved so much. He spoke in a soft, sad tone. Oakenwillow: I do not blame you for your caution, Lady Elf. I take it that troubled times have come to Rhovanion. Laitina lowered her bow, and looked into Oakenwillow's eyes. She could tell that he knew nothing of all that had happened in latter days. Laitina: Not just Rhovanion, Master Ent, but all of Middle Earth. The Ent's eyes widened, a look of disbelief and sadness spreading across his face. He bowed his head, lowered to one knee. Oakenwillow: I have been East of Rhun for many years. Tell me... What of Lorien? What of Fanghorn? Are the Trees felled? Laitina: I fear to tell you that parts of Fanghorn forest nearest to Isenguard have been lost. Much has happened in your absence, Master Ent. Oakenwillow: My name in the common tounge is Oakenwillow. Laitina: I am called Laitina, Laitina Kittana. If you would like, I could tell you of the events that have perspired while you were away. Oakenwillow: I would be forever grateful of such service, Lady Elf. But may I suggest we head somewhere else? I can't stand Goblins. Laitina: Very well; We are heading South. Is that alright? Oakenwillow: Very well indeed! I myself plan on heading through Lorien to Fanghorn. Let us go, am I sure you must have much to tell me. The company moved away from the gates of Goblin town, still holding their weapons ready. Goblins were tricky, and would not hesitate to attack them unawares. As one Goblin peered over the wall, Oakenwillow reared his head, and snarled, causing it to fall backwards over the barricade. With the Ent as their rearguard, the company moved south. ---- OOC: I really, really hope that's okay.
