Capcom Vs. SNK 2: EO

This GCN game is pretty new, but it was also released for the PS2 sometime last year (called Capcom Vs. SNK 2: Millionaire Fighting 2001). I played it in one videogame store and fell in love, unfortunately, when I came back a couple of months later, they had discontinued the game and it became almost impossible to find.

And now, at last, I have bought it and I love it! I find the choice of characters, fluid anime-style animation and the way you get used to the style of fighting so quickly makes this game one in a million. You might say that it's just the same as the first Cap Vs. SNK on the DC, which is wrong because they have so many characters this time, and a new "Groove" system, which I find very funky (I'll leave you to get the game and find out the Grooves yourself ^_^). I recommend that a fan of Street Fighter or any SNK game should get this.

My favorite character would have to be Nakoruru (I don't know which game she comes from though), simply because her moves seem to flow into one another. Her special moves are pretty easy to pull off too, and those (and her regular moves) are performed quickly, with a fair amount of damage inflicted on the opponent, too.

Second favorite, probably Haohmaru (again, no clue on the game). Well, he has a sword for starters and I love swords, and he looks very cool in his samurai get-up. His entrance/ending movements are so tasty as well, especially the one where he chucks his sword up in the air and catches it in its scabbard. As for his fighting, I find him good against average strength characters, because of his huge amount of power and pretty strong specials, but against such foes as Bison and Ceese (Ceese, Geese, not sure), he is pretty useless, since his moves are quite slow.

Does anyone else out there have the ultimate pleasure of having this great game?

The only other fighting game I've played on the GCN is SSB:M, and that's dandy, becuase it's not really a fighting game, as such.

You're missing the point that I was trying to raise, what do you like about it? I just wanted to start a discussion about it because I'm excited about getting it *plays it*

Hmm... I remember starting an EO thread. It's totally down the drain for the moment though.. u.u

Here's a site with pictures of all the characters. Yes, I know it's all in Japanese, but the pictures are pretty neat! ^^
I'm a big SNK fan. I have all the King of Fighters games starting 91' all the way to 02'.

I usually choose Athena, Mary, Kyo, and Kasumi/Xiang Fei in the pc/arcade version, but since half of those characters are unavailable for GC, I select Athena, Kyo, and Nakoruru instead. ^^

I agree with the graphics. The graphics are much better than the one that was out for ps2. Much better. It's actually made its way to one of my top three favorite fighting games. There aren't too many fighting games with all so 'great' graphics these days... = \

Edit: Eep. o.o; Forgot the website.. ^^;Cap vs. SNK EO Char select

When it comes to fighting games, I happen to be one of the biggest fan of Capcom's fighting series. ;)

I really enjoy playing Capcom vs SNK 2 whenever I have one of my friends over. Fighting against other people really brings the fun experience anyone would want from a fighting game.

As for my favorite characters, I usually pick Ryu, Haohmaru, and Kim. I just love Kim's unique kicks, Haohmaru's sweet sword attacks, and Ryu's uppercut. Almost all of the fighters have their own fighting style, which makes CvS 2 a really competitive game.

Overall, I think its a great fighting game, specially when played with friends. :)

Well, I won't be getting a Gamecube for a long while. But when I do, this game is second on my list. I have played the arcade version of Capcom Vs. SNK 2 and it's great. Of course I can't use a joystick for crap so I barley got anywhere. -_- I think I beat four levels.

My only problem with buying it for the Gamecube is the controller. I love the Gamecube's controller and all, but I don't see it working with a fighting game such as this. Or any fighting game for that matter. But, we'll see.

Well, I like this game a lot. It's retro style and bright colors kept my attention, and it's fighting system kept me battling. I played this with Break, and although it's not really my type of game, it still matches up with all of these other beat em ups.

[B]Well one thing is true that except SSB:M Gamecube's controller is not all that good for fighting.

I don't understand this claim everyone makes. Maybe its just me, but I can handle the GCN's controller much better than any other. PS2 blisters my forefingers, XBOX's is a friggin lunch box with buttons, yet GameCube is perfectly curved with a nice button layout. I want a GCN controller adapter for other systems!

I personally like the Gamecube's controller much better than I like the X-Box's. But the Gamecube controller just doesn't work with aracde style fighting games. My friend recently rented it and the control is horrible. :p

Well, I do think it is the easiest controller to play with. The other to I absoulutely can't use. Its sleek, curved, and fits nicely in my hand. I have great control with it, the only complaint I can see one having is the fact that the Control Stick is a little sensitive, and the CAPvsSNK2:EO's fighting system uses lots of half and quarter turns. I find my self often jumping when trying to pull off a finishing movement.

GC controller for me is...no good, I take that lunchbox with buttons thank you very much. PS2 controller works so well with me since I have used it the most and I have always liked it so glad they kept it over the PS controller. I dont like the GC controler mainly cuz of the L/R buttons and because some buttons on there are big and some small, they should all be the same I say.

Its big and small for use and concept clumsy fingers! Just kidding, but really I like the GCN controller and most prefer the PS2. It blisters my hands. Does anyone else feel the same and I all alone. I also want to know if you can get a GCN controller adapter for the PS2! Help me dear soul, Help me!

I prefer the GCN controller, too. After using the original PSX controller, which is basically the same as the PS2 controllers, my hands would start getting irritated from rubbing against it. The GCN controller doesn't do that, no matter how long I play.

As for a GCN-to-PS2 controller adapter, I don't think there are any. All I've ever seen is PS2-to-GCN.

Lets try to stay on topic, though, shall we? This thread is supposed to be about Capcom Vs. SNK 2: EO, not whether the GCN or PS2 or Xbox controller is best.
