Happy New Year!

I know we've had a new year's resolutions thread...but I want to be the first to officially ring in 2003!

It ticked over about an hour and a half ago.

Who here saw the Sydney event? O_O

I think it's probably going to end up as the biggest new year's event in the world for this year. It was like nothing I have ever seen before. It was like...double what last year's was. lol

I also think it'll really kill NYC in terms of scale, size and beauty. Who saw it?

I was amazed at how long it went for, too. The main fireworks display went for at least half an hour. And they had massive spotlights and enormous fireballs exploding for miles and miles all around the harbour.

They even had a giant ship in the harbour that was glowing bright orange and firing off these fake cannons in all directions, with coloured explosions shooting out everywhere. Bah, I can't possibly quantify it. Hopefully for those of you in other countries, you'll see it on the news or something.

I'll try and get some pictures when I can. There should be plenty available tomorrow; I'll post 'em up here. ^_^

Anyway, as it happens...I want to know how everyone spent their new year's eve. Did you party? And what was your home city doing for the big event?

I think I saw some of the Sydney stuff earlier today, although I was kind of half-asleep, lol.

My mother is cleaning at the moment, getting ready for a family and friends party that we're having later on. Happens every year.

I was going to go down to Trafalgar Square with a few friends this year but it's getting closed off and trouble is only going to brew down there anyway. -_-;

Happy New Year to all! :D

O_o;; That is the most excited I've ever seen you, James. Bah. Darn you Australians. It's 9 AM New Year's Eve for (some of) us (Drat that stupid Central Time), and as far as I know, this New Year's isn't going to be a big deal. Or maybe it will, and I just don't know about it yet. o_O;;

Ah well. Tulsa's boring when it comes to le celebrations. They might have something down in OKC or something, but I don't know if Tulsa's doing something . . . I think they might be, but heck, I dun know and dun care! ^_^ Last year, Da and Sissy stayed up until New Year's day playing Risk.

. . . now that I think of it, what AM I doing this New Year's?

--Sere

P.S. Happy New Year's to all of those who it's already arrived for, and to those of you who still have yet to enjoy it! ^_~

It's still about mid-afternoon here and I'm still wearing my towel, and I had my shower about 2 hours ago, lol. Anyway, I have no idea what I'm doing for New Year's Eve, since none of my friends are doing anything. I think my family might be going over to my aunt's house, but I'm not sure really.

Edit: A happy New Year to everyone, too! ^__^

Well, I was going to my little brother's friends house, but since there was nobody there my age, I'm going to my friends. His big sister was going to have somebody over, his mom said he could have somebody over.

That's when I step in.

What we plan on doing is watching movies (MIB2 maybe 1,000 times) and playing the Playstation. I don't know if I'll go to bed 'till 4:00, I don't think I will. Last year I went to bed at 2:00. Since I'm going to a friends, were planning on staying up past his 17 year old sister, and her friend.

Well, it's only morning right now here in California...and I just woke up so it's going to be a very long wait until we celebrate the new year. Normally, it's just a family thing, hang out around the game consoles among other things, like drinking. Then we use the person who has the most accurate watch (the atomic one my brother has) or count down along with the TV. Ah well, new number I have to get used to writing on my papers...

Wow, this is cool...I'm from the future! ten bucks to find out what happens!

Heh, it's 1:07am here. Just got back from a party at my brother's house (well, it's not really his, he's house-sitting for my aunt, but that's another story). Yea, just a small party, about 20 people. I got bored halfway through and watched American Pie 2, lol. Then, at midnight, we popped poppers, drank this horrible champagne, and watched the few fireworks we could see from where we were. Oh yes, there's nothing like celebrating New Year's Eve in the Perth suburbs :p

Happy New Year to my fellow Otaku-ites ^_~

Well, it is 11:18am here in Texas and New Year's isn't for some 13 more hours or so. I am just probably going to stay home and watch television or get online and talk to friends. New Year's isn't that big a deal to me.

It's 11:01am New Year's eve here. ^_^
As far as I know, my dad's going to be calling me around twelve, telling me he'll see me next year... Same as usual, I guess. ^_^;

I'm going to see fireworks, and leave to go skiing tomorrow. I hope it's not too cold. ^_^;

I slept through ever other countries New Years brodcast, but here in the U.S, its only 5 PM on New Years eve. So we are yet to see the ball drop. But other than all the festivities and such, 2003 means that ol' Havoc (Cruizr for those who have bad memory) will have another crack at staying at the OTakuboards for a year straight. I went 2 years, and took 2 months off, so im back to help you all ring in the New Year. But back on track....I wish I would have seen the Sydney event..

Well it turned 2003 fifteen minutes ago, and so far so good :D

I'm soon to crack open a magnum of champagne I got for my birthday, so the festivities should continue long into the night.

Again, happy new year!

I'm going over to a friend's house in a little while. It should be fun, although I'm not a party-type person.

My city/town/whatever doesn't do anything special, to my knowledge. There are a handful of weirdos who jump into Lake Michigan [cold place, mm], but I'm not that insane yet.

Does anyone remember last year's New Year's Thread, I wonder.... :toothy:

Do I ever... :rolleyes:

Hehe, anyway. For New Years I'm just going to be sitting around at home with my family. Kiss my boyfriend, hug a few close friends... The usual.

Yes, welcome to my life. :whoops:
