What X-Box game are you anticipating for the most in 2003 and why?

I am most anticipating Halo 2 as i thought the first one was wicked and just love playing it in multiplayer which is what i do often now. I am hoping the second one will be better than the first and have more alien life forms and more levels to do and maybe not have the levels as repetitive as a few of them were on Halo. I am looking forward to playing dead to rights but im not sure whether it will be better than Max Payne although the side games look quite funny and the dog he uses looks pretty cool also and if there is the bullet time thing involved as well then that will be pretty good. I am not really looking forward to Raw Ruthless Agression because if its anything like the first one then it will be a big disappointment, to be honest i am looking forward more to getting Legends of Wrestling 2 as i thought the first one was really cool and this one has new match types with ladder and cage etc. Thats basically my little list of what i am looking forward to but i may edit if i change my mind about things or if i have some more games i want.

I don't know Tommy. I can understand your hesitancy regarding Raw 2, but Legends of Wrestling 2 is supposedly a disappointment.

Ruthless Aggression looks amazing from what I've seen. Judging from video, the animation is on par with SmackDown 4. More importantly, the season mode has supposedly been revamped and the "spirit meter" ironed out. But, I'll have to be certain that Anchor delivers all that it's promised before I bite.

Fable interests me slightly. But, I am more interested in looking into the immediate future. What does that hold? Kung Fu Chaos and Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus. I'm surprised that more people haven't replied to Cyko's thread dedicated to that game. It has some serious potential...

I have to say, I have been getting more and more involved with Halo. We play a bunch with anywhere between 8 - 12 players. It's pretty awesome not having to worry about your enemy looking at your screen, sniping you from behind because he watched where you were going *mutters* Anyways, from what I am saying, I am definitely looking forward to Halo 2. I hope they have some more weapons, including a larger clip for the sniper weapon, and some more large levels to run around in and 'hide' in. . mwahahahaha *cough* sorry. .

Though, I am sad that Perfect Dark will not be coming to the GAMECUBE, I will definitely have to get it for my friend who has an X-Box to play it on.

Well i decided to say Legends of Wrestling 2 as i thought it could make improvements and if what you are saying about Raw 2 then it could change my oppinion about it but anways i am talking sort of off topic as its about anticipated games and i am talking about my views now. I think i'll shut up and let the thread carry on normally.

I'm really looking forward to Raw 2. I hope that they can fix up all the problems with Raw, and focus more on the gameplay than anything else. Also, the fact that we'll be able to rip our own songs as entrance music is gonna be sweet.

Halo 2 is gonna be HUGE. Hell, the EB and Gamestops in my mall have already sold out there pre orders, and the game is over half a year from being released. New weapons, vehicles, and enemies and improved graphics. Your damn straight its gonna be good.

Oooh, I'm getting excited about MGS : Substance now. Not long until my next MGS installment. I really want to play Kung Fu Chaos, it looks funny, and I want to get some new games. I am also waiting for 2004, when GTA may possibly be coming to the Xbox! It would be a very good decision by Rockstar, if you ask me

Metal Gear Solid Substance isn't very good. It was a sloppy port with a lot of slow down (on the tanker with the rain effects, for instance). I've already seen the game in clearance bins for eleven dollars, lol.

It would probably behoove you to wait for the PS2 version.

Ah, but I don't have a PS2 god damnit! I must be like the only one. Ah well, there are other games I guess, but I have seen MGS: Special Missions in other places, for next to nothing. If you ask me, that's a quality game!
I want to see a Final Fantasy game on X Box, or another similar RPG, becuase I am very willing to give one a go now. I think I will be buying Dead To Rights, as I seem interested in this, even though it's said to be a bit boring.

Rockstar have signed that they are definetely just going on the PS2 again, not sure whether this is true or not? It will be on PC though. Anyway if your looking for an excellent RPG then Fable is your game. That looks great, but I too wish for a Final Fantasy game on the X-Box. Dead to Rights still not sure on I will just stick with my Max Payne. :) MGS2: Substance I will get but I'm not deeply anticipating it anymore *looses interest* I will still get it anyway. Ninja Gaiden I am waiting for *drools over swords* ^_^;;

Well some news I have heard is that the multi-million selling PC game The Sims will soon be bringing its life-simulation action to the X-Box, so all you people who may not have a PS2 or would prefer The Sims on the X-Box for whatever reason here's your chance. The Sims didn't really do anything for me, but it seems an extremely addictive game and I'm pretty sure I would play this more on a console. If they make this for X-Box Live that would be amazing as well! :D

Also as well as beach volleyball on the X-Box, the first ever beach football game should be on it's way soon if that takes anyones interest. :demon:

Only game coming out that I'd say I care about remotely is Fable. The concept is cool... although I honestly am not trusting it will be great due to Molyneux's involvement (that and the characters look horrible in my opinion - gorgeous otherwise). If it turns out like I've read, it will be a very good game... So I'm looking forward to it :).

Ah yes, Fable looks like a great game. I think that The Sims would be good, becuase the console version of this game is more mission orientated, than just keeping your character alive.
BC looks like a very good game as well, but I'm not sure I truly understand the aim of the game. Can anyone enlighten me?

Well from what I've heard BC is a third-person action-puzzle adventure. It seems a bit of a strategy to me as well as you are put in charge of a tribe human beings on an epic journey across an ancient prehistoric land. As the game begins your tribe is very stupid; they don't know where the next meal is coming from and it's your job to teach them the basic skills that will give the whole tribe a better chance of survival.

I think this sounds rather fun now I hear more about it. Members with nothing to do will gather around the campfire and try to speak to each other. This becomes an important factor later on as they'll need to say things like "big dinosaur come" to warn of an attack. You're the person who realises that a stick on the floor can be used as a weapon. You're the spark of intelligent life.

You're mad if you don't keep BC on your radar! I would like to know what happens when you battle a dinosaur hmm? I'm not sure on how the levels will be set out but I suppose you just walk around to find where your destined to go. Maybe there are objectives to tell you what to do? The only objectives I've heard are teaching your tribe to create fire, catch food, watch out for dangers, talk and generally live a civilised life. :freak: Some people could no doubt learn from this game! This game sounds pretty fun and i heard that there are mini quests where if they are completed you get special items and can gain new abilities for you and your tribe. I think you could probably like use rocks or sticks carved into spears to attack smaller dinosaurs but i don't really know what you would do if a massive t-rex came trampling through your camp. the graphics look very detailed from the screen shots i have seen. There is 20 different species of dinosaurs ranging from swamp lurking ones to high flying sky ones. There are also Savre-toothed tigers in the snow covered mountains during your quest.

BC looks like a superb game, I have read 4 or 5 reviews now, and it looks great. I have also been hearing very good things about Shenmue 2. It was previously released on the Dreamcast, and now it's been re made for the Box. Looks like a quality game, that is going to take up all your homework time!

BC looks really cool and i have played a demo of Shenmue II and i think it is a very cool game and i will get it when it is released. You can basically walk around and buy things, play on arcade machines have arm wrestles etc and all the characters look pretty life like which i think looks good in a game and Shenmue II was quite a big hit for the dreamcast in my oppinion i think.

Not playing moderator, but please read over your posts Vercetti, some of that was very poor, and it lowers the quality of this thread.
Anyway, Shenmue II looks very good, and long. I think Substance is a must for anyone who doesn't own SoL. It's a very good game, and I think the graphics are fine, the rain effects on the tanker are more annoying than lacking detail.

Well to be honest the more I think about it I don't think MGS2: Substance should be the most anticipated game of 2003. It's not even a massive improvement of SoL otherwise people would advise me to get Substance when instead it's not really worth it. The point I think is more appropriate though is that a most anticipated game for a console should be an exclusive I reckon. That's showing why the console is good, but if that's the only console you have for instance I can see why it would be your most anticipated game (I know that's the case for you Alexus, so you don't have to explain).

It is a good game, but I don't really know what the extra features are like (supposely not great, but at least it gives the game more of a lifespan), but I don't think it will be my favourite especially as I'm not going to be getting it unless found very cheap! I'm thinking more exclusives way like Fable, Perfect Dark 0 and Ninja Gaiden. :box:
