Has anybody watched this anime?

If you've lived your whole life in the United States, or have little contact with anime outside America, you probably don't know a thing about it. You soon will though, now that ADV has bought the rights to the television series.

For those out of the loop, Saint Seiya is the story of five martial art fighters called "saints" that fight to protect Athena, daughter of Zeus. The anime starts with ten kids who are bound to train in different parts of the world to win a specific bronze cross (an armor), and therefore become saints. The kids will train until adulthood and become bronze saints, when they will fight in a tournament to win the golden cross from Sagittarius. As you may have noticed, the series does rely on some elements from Greek mythology, which I particularly like.

Well, that would just be the first part of a very long-running series. It is basically a fighter anime, but with a better story than say... Dragon Ball Z. I watched the Mexican version when I was a kid, in Venezuela, and I loved it.

In Japan, the series has been revived with a new story, called Saint Seiya Hades.

Seiya is the name of the main character, the one who's always the only one capable of defeating the villain in the end. Kinda like Heero, from Gundam Wing, but without the attitude.

Anyway... has anyone seen this anime? Here's a pic from the series:

I still have this odd school anime including the first couple of volumes of the new one. A pretty good anime that isn't too much like a dbz-ish anime the storyline is a bit weak at points but overall entertaining for old school fans of Voltron and Macross.

Sorry to revive a month old topic but his series is one of my over all favorites.
I love mithology and saint seiya really does use it very well, the storyline is superv and the episodes are very well done.
Ive seen jsut 4 episodes of the hades saga, and i can tell you that they are jsut outstanding. They kept the original drawings, music and they added a lot of effort in the quality of it.
My favorite part of the series is the 12 zodiac palaces battles.
Oh and btw, im from venezuela.

Sí va, de Maracaibo! Debe ser un peo allá con la vaina Chávez. :/

Well, back on topic. I also have 4 episodes of Saint Seiya Hades, and it's just great. I like the few 3D environments they have added, while keeping the same artwork. I am really excited because of
the cooler Gold Saints were revived. I am Capricorn.
Anyway, it's glad to know someone else from Venezuela posts here. My best friend also posts here (rarely), and he's in Caracas right now.
