Just a quick thought.....

I was wondering what people would name their kids when they have them.

Mine? I dunno.....proably a common name for the time and then a wierd middle name and nickname.

I'll look back on my Anime days and think of a name I like....like Yusuke. The Yu in Yusuke's name written in Kanji means "Ghost" and I thought that was pretty funny. That would be for my son.

Daughter......maybe Kagome or Keiko. I like those names.

I never really thought about it, but I seriousely doubt that when I'm older and have kids that I'd really want to name them after Anime characters....I'd proably look back and think of how dumb or immature the idea was.

We all change, even though we don't want to......but I know I'll always have a thing for Anime!

*Laughs* Like I just said in that other thread, I think people wanting to name their kids Japanese names is a phase that people big into anime go through. I used to want to have daughters named Kasumi and Sakura. But I've grown out of that, thank goodness.

Now I just want my daughter to be Arianna Rose. My son is going to be Corbin James. And other kids, well I have thought up some, but they aren't certain. These are the definates.

Well, I already have four. Their names are Orlando, Anna, Chester, and Dexter. :p

I have not been able to think of a girls name, but I guess I would leave that up to whoever might be having the child. When it comes to boy's names, I have been toggling between Zaius and Darwin, lol. Yes, my children are probably going to be made fun of. Oh well, it builds character. Or drives them insane and they go on a homicidal rampage. :)

Oh yeah! I forgot about Chloe Brianna. That's such a cute name.

Flash has a cool name, Conner. That might be something I'd consider naming one of my kids. Gavin Conner...that sounds cool to me! :D

I really did want to name my kids Dexter and Chester, but everyone said they would get seriously made fun of. So I had to scrap that idea. I have a chihuahua named Chester instead.

It would be best to name your kids something normal for the time because imaging having your child coming home from school crying because they have a wierd name and people pick on them for it. I used to have my nickname made fun of because it sounded wierd to people. (it was Mimi)

Imagine......

Your kid goes to the local elementary school. Everything is normal except for their name. All chances of having many friends or popularity is blown away because no one likes your child's name.

Sorry, just a little reality check there....

And I know that a lot of Japanese people do name their children after strange things.....their last names (family names) can represent things or places.

Akira Toriyama

Akira: I think it's something to do with light....or bright light...

Tori: Bird (basically) Yama: Mountain

And doesn't Yoshi mean adoption?????

And also, some Japanese people also name their kids after Anime characters.

Oooooohhh I like the names Thomas, Lee, Julian, and Gabriel for guys names but I seriously doubt that I would name one of my kids Gabriel. For girls I like the name Kari, Rue, and Rhys...the first one is pretty much the one I would use. The other ones might get picked on...:p

I don't think your children would ever be able to forgive you, Deedlit!:P

I have never really given this any kind of thought.

Girl:

Julie Elizabeth
Elizabeth Nicole

Boys:

Ryan Joseph (after me, of course!)
Brady Tyler

Those are just from the top of my head. I really have no clue at the moment.

If I had kids, I'd name one Vanessa Lynn, because I like the name Vanessa, and my sister's pretty middle name is Lynn. I'd prolly name a boy Chai Kitja.* I like the names Faye, like from Cowoy Bebop, and Albert, like Albert Einstien, too. Should do something with those.

*No, Kitja has NOTHING to do with kuja. >_< My father's name is Chai, and my late grandpa's name is Kitja! It's Thai for cripes sake!

Asuka and Homer. Ok, that's what I wanted to call them, now I'm not too sure...

I like the name Evelyn for a girl. And Jeremy or James for a boy. Heh, I remember the time I told Deus I was going to name my son James Jimmy Jameson. He said he was going to call his son Quality...o_O

Actually, Homer's not that bad a name. If anyone asks, I'll say he's named after the Greek philosopher or whatever. My friend was saying if I name my son Homer, she'll call him 'Homer Sexual'. Well, if she's going to be that damn immature...

I really don't think about the future in ways like this. People ask me things simliar to this and I can't really answer them heh.

I've always really liked the name Colleen though. I think I'd pick that. I'd much rather have a daughter than a son personally.

I would name my children either a. Something Biblical, or b. something with a cool meaning.

If I were to name child something right now, it would be:

Female: Jael [A pretty darn cool character from Judges.]
Male: Jonathan [A guy of incredible faith.]

The other option would be etymological, or just plain definition, which I'm sure I would have several dozen choices for, and my significant other would probably 86 most of them. :toothy: So we'll just stop there for the time being.

1. No one else would have their name
2. I could name them after mai favorite video game/anime characters
:D
They'd be so appreciative of that, I'm sure. Kind of selfish that you'd want to name your kids after a passing phase... considering they have to live with that name for the rest of their life.

Just have to say....some pretty sweet Japanese words there, Wrist Cutter. And I have NO IDEA what it means, except for the little "no" in there.
And no, it doesn't mean "NO" it just mainly something to go along in the sentence. It is used a lot. Anyway...back on topic now....

"Bokutachi wa, ikru hodo ni, nakushite ku, suko shijutsu, itsu wariya, uso o matoi, tachisukumu, koe mo naku."

Sorry, just had to do that.

NANI??? (WHAT????)

Sorry about getting off topic.....

Um, yeah, it's really rockin'... or something. Probably best you don't know what it means, as I told genkai. Not dirty or anything, but slightly risqué.

As for the rest of your post... um... kinda confused as to what you're trying to do/say... your spacing is difficult and I'm not sure if "ikru" is a typo or what... but as it is we're well off topic anyway.

I never really thought of this before. Probably because I don't ever want to have a kid like me to deal with. ^ ^ But, now that I am on the subject I might as well think of some names.

Boy: For a normal name probably Corey or Craig. If I wanted something "out there" maybe Prometheus.

Girl: Maya was always a cool name. But, I like Faye as well.
