After a long week of training the triad decided it was time to leave and continue toward Ben'ta (the town Orin says no demon is aware of). Time flies as they travel dangerous wilderness areas and are confronted by various wilderness encounters. It all seemed to peaceful for confront.

xanthia keeps her sences atuned. she didn't like being unfamiliar with her surroundings. it seemed that her horse felt the same way, feeling his muscles tenseion under her. orin was leading the horse along the forest floor. the trees were old and tall, and there was no real path. but she had confidences that orin knew where he was going. Cador and arikel were following behind her. cador noticed xanthia looked restless.

cador: xanthia, what's up?

xanthia: i don't like not knowing exactly where i am. when being a theif, you must be familiar with your surroundings to find the best ways to hide. around here i feel vunerable that's all.

orin: don't worry, no one really comes through here because they usually lose their way.

xanthia: but you do know the way?

orin: yes.

xanthia sighed and reached down to stroke the stallions mane, then listen for a sighn of up coming trouble.

Arikel was silent much of the way to the city. also eyes closed on the horse, almost as if he were meditating. He had been thinking of his life's events. It was almost night when Arikel spoke for the first time since they left the cave.

Arikel: Do you believe in fate?

both of the other humans look back at him for a moment not really knowing what to say but Orin speaks up.

Orin: Why do you ask?

Arikel: I've been thinking about the first battle with that baccus.

Cador: Me too actually.

Arikel: You know that scar on it's shoulder? I gave that scar to him in my younger days. He was in the squad of demons that destroyed my monestary. I've always despised demons since then.

OOC: Sorry about such a small post. :(

Orin: Fate ties man and angel together << looking over at Arikel >> it's the only thing I can remember my parents saying before they were killed, I've dreamed of it time and time again.

Arikel: Angels and man tied together by fate << Looking interested >> I could see that actually, man has seen angelic beings as their saviors of millions of years.

Cador: My << Pauses for a moment >> Mother used to tell my lullaby when I was little, that had Man and Angel are link by the light of hope. I don't understand that completely but more and more I began to understand its meaning. << Looking over at Orin >> before you, I'd never even consider fighting the demons the only thing too me was darkness and sorrow and I thank you for that Orin.

Xanthia: I agree with Cador I'd always hoped to free of their presence but until you came I knew it would never ?

Interrupting Xanthia the horse rear up naing(<
Demonic Voice: And your trails to defeat us will be in vain foolish mortal woman!

xanthia calmed down the horse and sat silent. she got off her horse and orin caught her arm. she looked at him and smiled, he let go and she looked towards the voice.

Xanthia: who dare to talk to me in that manner.

candor: (whispers) i don'tt think that's wise.

xanthia glares at candor and returns tto faceing the voice.

demonic voice: such big talk for a woman, especialy a mortal one, did anyone teach you manners

Xanthia: would you like to come and see?

orin: xanthia!

Xanthia looks at orin with only one intention. read my eyes and run! xanthia walked towards the voice.

Xanthia: well i'm waiting. and it's not polite to keep a woman waiting.

Xanthia stood watching and waiting senses attuned to her surroundings. Cador slowly dismounted his horse, and kept vigilant. Arikel followed suit. The forest was deathly quiet.

Xanthia: WELL?

Again she looked back urging the others to run. Cador looked around for a moment and then back a Xanthia. As he did his 6th sense warned him of impeding danger. He looked up to A Bacus leaping from a treetop toward Xanthia

Cador: HEADS UP!

Xanthia instinctively leaped back as the Bacus slammed the ground with a maul. She stood in a defensive stance and yelled to her comrades:

Xanthia: RUN YOU FOOLS!

Orin: We wouldn't make very far Xan

They were surrounded by a group of 6 men. Snarling like animals?bearing unnatural fangs. They paused but a moment and charged them, flailing their weapons and screaming. Cador drew his sword and prepared for the worst.

Orin sighed at the coming Bacus not truly wanting to fight he knew that if he didn't fight the others would be overwhelmed they could pull off fighting one or two as a group but without Orin's help they won't stand a chance. Leaping from the horse Orin's wings quickly manifest in a awing brilliant white flash the demons paused foolishly to look up as the three tackled a few to the ground.

Orin: we didn't want to fight you but you leave no chance!!

Orin dove down sharply and rammed into a Bacus, the battle paused as a horrid scream followed by the cracking of wood filled the air. The Bacus Orin attack was driven though sever tree trucks and with flailing a bout on the ground in pain. The others stare for a moment until their demonic enemies continued the attack.

Bacus: << Pointing at three others >> after the angel NOW!

xanthia stabed a bacus through the throat and lept into a tree as she pulled it out. how can we fend off all of them! she saw as orin as getting more attention from the deamons.

Xanthia: well that's no fair, you want to play with him and not me?

Xanthia jumped on top of an un sespecting bacu who plumeted to the ground. she smiled and ran up to orin and stood with him back to back.

orin: what are you doing?

Xanthia: trust me, it's more fun this way.

Xanthia pulled out a dagger and was ready for the first deamon to come at her.

Arikel was about to jump another baccus from behind when a large blow from a club throw him back several feet and landed on his but holding his gut and coughing catching his air as he looked to where that came from a tall man with dark skin and red eyes dropped the log and drew his sword.

Arikel: S**t! Demon-Blooded!

The man runs towards Arikel and starts to slash at him as the monk does everything he can to dodge/deflect the swordblows. Taking several hits to the arms and legs though nothing serious as he finally see's the opening he was looking for, his fingers suddenly shot out, pressing into the mans sword wrist. The demon blooded screams out in pain and anger as his hand opens spasmically dropping the sword and then clenches shut. Arikel smirks slightly and gets into his position.

Arikel: Attack me now.

Demon-Blooded: Surely.

His foot hooked under the sword and he lifted it to his other hand doing a small display of his skill.

Demon-Blooded: Oh did I forget to mention i'm not left handed?

Arikel: I'm in trouble.
