The Dentist....

It can't get any worse than this...I hate this guy. Since the past month I've had two friends who told me about their experiences with The Dentist. Both told me about when they had their "Wizom" or Wizdom" Teeth (or however you say/spell it) pulled. Now this is new to me but both expressed how much it hurt. Hurt isn't even the word that can describe it so they say. Its basically when a tooth begins to grow at the very back of your teeth that usually comes out when you're about 19 or so years old. Its a problem because they usually push on the heathly tooth thats next to it and if left unattended it can destroy the good one. At the time I was thankful I didn't have this problem so I didn't worry about it.... until now. I'm starting to feel two teeth grow on the top part of my set and then I remembered all the stuff my friends told me. I told my mom just now and she knows about these teeth of hell and she calls them the "price you pay to live". I haven't see The Dentist yet but after from what I heard, I'm getting scared like crazy here that I start laughing cause of fear and knowing I gotta do this. I'm on the verge to hire a 300 pound guy to punch me out HARD, see if I can knock them out quick and easy. And I thought getting a root canal or a cavity was bad...

I've had a couple of cavities, and a root canal before. I think I'd rather have a root canal than a cavity. When that happened, my friends told me all these horror stories about how they stick metal wires in your gums and rip stuff out... It wasn't like that at all. It was such a breeze! Hmm... I've got 3 of my 4 wisdom teeth in my mouth right now. I'm a firm believer in getting them out as soon as possible. A friends' wisdom teeth got infected, and flaired up the day of her wedding. O.< Granted, I'll have to have surgery to get them out, but I don't think that will be such a big deal. If everything goes well, and the dentist knows what he's doing, it'll be no big deal for you. ;)

I've never had a cavity in my life yet, and I hope I won't ever. I mean, the regular dentist is bad enough. Oh sure, I used to love my old dentist, and it was quick and easy, but after this new one gets done with cleaning my teeth, there's blood all over the napkin.

...Owwwwww...

I've had I think six of my teeth pulled cause I need to get braces (thank God I don't have them now). The only thing that really hurt was the needle in your gums to freeze them. :: shutters:: I hate to be reminded of that and I'm probably going to have it again with the Wisdom Teeth.

Hehehe, taking wizdom teeth out will hurt. Thankfully I had enough room in my mouth so they grew just fine. However, one of my workmates had all four wisdom teeth pulled out at the same time. They were all just starting to show. She had to take 3 weeks off work until her face heeled. She showed us pictures of her face when she came back. It was purple and yellow and the size of a rock melon to be exact

But my brother had his taken out as they started growing, not all at the same time. He had no problems. Just like taking any other tooth out. The only bad thing about the dentist is the disgusting taste it your mouth and makes spit a lot...yuk

I think you will be fine. Sure, it may hurt but it is something your going to have to go through and there isn't anything that can stop it. Before you know it, the whole procedure will be finished and you will say, " That was nothing like what my friends said." And you'll be glad that the whole thing is over. Simple as that.

*shudders* I HATE shots.....><

I've only gotten one cavity so far, but I was really surprised that it didn't hurt a bit when they drilled it, but I think that there are a few reasons why it didn't: 1.) It was a very small cavity, 2.) the shot they gave me numbed my mouth, and 3.) I almost passed out from the shot, so I was semi-concious.

I've never had any of my wisdom teeth yanked out, so I can't really relate to your situation. Just request that they give you several shots.

I've had to have all my wisdom teeth taken out. I had it done about three months ago. It wasn't all that bad, I just hated my mouth being numb for about six hours. It might have been longer, I can't remember. Then they stuffed this wicked tasting packing in my mouth and told me not to take it out for a week. That was horrible. >_< But I shouldn't worry about it if I were you. The dentist will give you plenty of shots so you won't feel the pain, and he might gas you so that you feel like you sitting on a cloud or just knock you out. He'll give you pain-killers and antibiotics afterward and send you on your merry way. No worries.

My mom's a dentist, so I definately don't mind going for appointments. ^_^
I like it when they put that gummy stuff in your mouth and tell you to bite. ^_^ I always choose strawberry. Bubblegum is soo.. gross. >.>

I've had one cavity so far... none for the moment. (I hope ^_^; )

I haven't had a cavity yet. I used to think I was cursed because of my mouth, I couldn't fall with out hitting my mouth. I had stitches on my lip, 8 teeth pulled in all, not at once and 4 of them were so that there would be room for my braces and I have had chipped teeth.
Once I had a shot in my mouth so they could get a cavity out then they found out that I didn't have a cavity. It really sucked.

The worst business that's ever come out of my dentist visits was a root canal. I wasn't really nervous about the pain or anything. My tooth was giving me enough of that. It was throbbing so badly that I couldn't sleep at night and my ears began to hurt. Ow.

I was a little nervous that the dentist would peek into my mouth and look horrified, but it turns out that there was nothing to worry about. The needle didn't hurt. Neither did the actual work.

So, I doubt there's much to worry about. I just hate the smell of those places.

You sir, are lucky... Bad experiences for me, I've gotten 9 teeth pulled because my teeth are so f*cked up and crooked... Haha, then I still have to get my wisdom teeth pulled, but only if they bother me, I really hope they dont... Getting teeth pulled hurts...>_
Or maybe that was the little man inside of my head...=D
