Rhys Mayiessen
I was at a store today and I was quite bored so I just was kinda looking around. I then saw this little girl in a cart with a fake rose in her hands. I looked at her and she smiled so I smiled back then she went to look behind something. I look behind and she smiled brightly and started to hide behind her flower. It felt so nice to make a child smile but then her mother came back and I waved bye to her and she kind of mouthed bye. Later on in the store I heard a little voice say "hey" and I look and there she was again. I felt so bad though cause I had to go and I kept hearing behind me "hey". Have any of you had this exprience before?
Semjaza
I've had this happen a lot to me. Mostly at stores, because that's generally where you see little kids walking around with their parents in a bored mood heh. I've had a few kids stop screaming or crying when they saw me too, which is always a really weird feeling (especially when their parents comment on it). I get along really well with kids in general (the ones people seem to have lots of problems with seem to take to me especially lol). I love babies mostly though. My mom babysits this 4 month old baby named Joey, and everyone claims he loves me. I don't really see him acting any different towards me than anyone else, but yeah heh. SaiyanPrincessX
I'm really good with kids also. They always seem to like me. My mom went to an exercise class at the rec we use to live near and a women in her class let my brother and I babysit her two boys. We basically hung around in the game room, we were the only ones in there. My brother played GameBoy with the older boy who was around 7. I watched the younger one who was around 2. By the time the class was over his mother came to take them and he had falled asleep on my lap. These kinds of things happen alot to me when I'm around young kids. Point: I doubt his parents would go for that. Firstborn child and all that rot. Point: I have a five-year-old-brother, and still vividly remember the downsides to having young children about. Point: If I'm going to babysit, I'd like to get paid for it. Still. heh.
wrist cutter
Well, I'm around babies a lot because my sister and brother (or his wife, anyway) keep having them, heh... I like all my little nephews and nieces a lot, but I can see where they're a lot more fun when you don't have to live with them, heh. But, as for babies outside my family, usually I just find them annoying when they're screaming in a store or something...
Defcon5
Well generally little kids tend to stop smiling when they see me. In fact when I was passing out candy on halloween there was more than one little kid who wouldn't say trick or treat. Then the parents told me that it was werid cause they said it at every other house. And I was wearing a white T-shirt with jeans, so it wasn't like I was wearing anything scary, must of been my face. Rhys Mayiessen
Ahhhhhhh....don't say that Defcon5! Maybe those kids were just shy. I remember one time I babysitted these kids and one of them was like four and the other one was maybe seven. The four year old got to bed really early but the other one always wanted to play games with me...after a while she said that I was the best babysitter she had ever had. Needless to say the parents never asked me to babysit again...it might have been because I was too shy.
DeathKnight
Happens to me all the time. As you can tell from some of my posts, I'm pretty silly sometimes, so sometimes I act as silly as the kids themselves. Works like a charm to get them to smile. ^^
Stitch
i don't really get along that well with little boys but girls however LOVE ME i think its because of my hair they love to sit on my back and brush my hair..... which can sometimes really hurt! but yes i had a little cousin who i just met yesterday (because she lives really far away) and she is three years old. She was sitting in her highchair and she was looking at me and my aunt said "thats cousin ashlea" (my cousin never talks so my aunt keeps trying out new words and names with her) she just kept on staring at me tho when i had to go she started screaming my name and trying to come after me it was soooo sad/sweet! so we stayed a little longer. She kept bringing me toys and nameing them which she never does cuz she dosen't talk alot my aunt was so happy! Stitch
Syn
Nah, children normally just stand and stare at me @.@ then I smile at them and they run away x.x; so im not really a kid person. They're too noisey.
BearsBaby635
I love kids. Ever since I was little I always wanted to be a mommy. Everday when I get off m bus, there is a day care center right by my house. The little kids come up to the gte and smile at me. Some of them talk and some don't. I remember one time I was having a really bad day and this little boy looked at me. I smiled at him and he kinda blushed and went to tell his little friend who was rght by him. I love walking past that daycare and seeing everyone so happy. It's such a nice feeling.

Juu
I babysit often, and almost all of them have that really, really cute 'can I please stay up until ten o'clock' kind of smile. ^_^; It's touching, but it gets me in trouble alot... I make up my mind to not give them snacks after six, and they always smile. >.>
Rain
Yea, kids are great. I have a seven year old cousin, Harley, and he is the cutest kid I've ever seen ^^. And then there's his nine year old sister, Bronte. I get on well with her; she's a lot like me (poor kid :p). They're both really affectionate, and Bronte is so funny sometimes. She's a bit of a klutz, but you gotta love her ^_^.
future girl
i live with four boys that are all under six. they're beautiful too, all have really light eyes and fine hair. they look like little gods. well, i love them, but it's hard. they can be so affectionate sometime, giving me kisses, and then the older ones can be HUGE brats. but for the most part, they all just want to play games and eat junk food, which is fine by me as long as they don't break anything. their mom doesn't agree with this much, though, but what can she do. i'm the only babysitter she'll get for free. :smirk:
Delian
Kids are cool with me. Whenever I see a baby or a little kid stare at me, I always pull faces at them and they start gigling. It's cool. Once I was sitting infront of a clothing store and there were these two adorable sisters playing in the display window and looking up at me, so I started pulling faces at them and smiling. They started laughing and pulling faces at me. When they came out with their mom, they dragged her over to me. She told me she was wondering what was making her daughters laugh so hard. She spoke to me for a while and went on her way. Kids just love me:D
SaiyanPrincessX
My Aunt & Uncle are coming over this summer, along with my two young cousins. I haven't seen the oldest one since before she could crawl, shes 4 now. I've never seen her little sister, shes 1. I was only able to see the oldest(Gabby)because my brother and I went back to Phoenix to visit them 4 years back. I can't wait to see them this summer. The thing is, I'm not sure if they know we're not little kids.. They may be a bit dissapointed seeing us and we're not there size. They've only seen pictures, and talked on the phone. Well to Gabby anyway, Sydney(her little sister)is too young. My grandma says she loves us though, shes always looking at our pictures and talking about us. Gives you that warm, fuzzy feeling.:)
Spikey
Well, alot of kids do smile at me. Most of the time they just stare. I dunno why. But I did see a kid once that kept on saying "Hello" to me. I kept on talking back, being palite, but then I have to go. She kept doing it, so I said "bye". I went out side to look through the glass, and she was waving at me, so then I waved back. The odd thing is, I see her the next day. She said "Mommy look it's that boy from the store". I waved, and she waved back. I never did get a glimpse of her mother. I guess she was kind of a shady charcter...

Anna
I am pretty intolerant to the loud, noisy and obnoxious older children. I grew up with four younger siblings and have baby-sat other kids since I was 11 (7 years), and I get highly irritated when some people say I should "be used to it" or something. Heck no! Anywho, younger kids and babies I don't mind, especially babies because they can't talk back to you and smart off. That's always a plus. :whoops: But to be wholly on topic, I do make kids smile. Usually I'll catch them looking at me, and I'll keep their eye contact, then I'll smile at them. Then they grin and look away 'cause they got shy, but they always look again, and I always smile again. Like today there was this little girl, probably about five years old a couple rows ahead of us in church. She had big pretty blue eyes, and sometimes she would turn around and she'd look at me. I'd smile at her, and she'd smile and turn back around. Yes, it is a good feeling. :)
treton_noir
man, i do NOT like children. theyre too rotten wild. very rarely do i encounter one that doesnt make me want to jack their jaw. when i do, its enjoyable because i dont feel like im having to be a parent. i hate the feeling that im in charge of kids. i dont like having somebody tell me what to do. what makes me think i can tell somebody else? i dont like to have a parent/ child relationship. i like the kid to be my friend, not something im in charge of. so yeah, i guess i have been affected by a child's smile. i like when kids are happy. not running nutty happy, but calm and content happy. then comes the smiley stuff. BigCajones
Well I have nepthew who is only two and he is so cute and adorable. I mean at Christmas when he opens his presents and gets the sillyest of things and shouts really happy with a smile that touches me. Luca's first Christmas he preferred the wrapping paper to the presents itself lol. :) He's really funny as he picks up everythink you say and copies you (he can say alot for two) and then there's that look when he meets someone new. He goes all shy and quiet, but will still stare at the person or if he's scared of something will run to you and hug you which makes me feel a good uncle. Girls also think he is really cool and cute so he also helps me out. ;) He calls me numerous things such as woussy, piggy and Dant (well now he can kind of say Grant), but when people laugh at him when he does something he tends to do it more often lol. He loves an audience and gets annoyed when he isn't the main attention (hits me lol). He's not always good, but is any baby? He's just a child that has touched me. :)
