I was reading on Planet Gamcube, that it's been comfirmed that theres a Gamecube Pokemon game ocming out in Japan this summer. It will require a GBA and a copy of Polemon Sapphire or Ruby, and it will sell for about $40.

Not much is known about the game but it is rumored that it could be an online version of Pokemon Stadium...Sounds Fun!

Yeah, I just heard about this too, in the latest issue of EGM, I think. I'm just wondering why you have to have a copy of Ruby or Sapphire to play it.

I'm hoping it's not just something like another stadium game, though, with or without online play. I keep hoping for something like an MMORPG. I think that would suit the Pokémon series perfectly, considering that a big part of the games is supposed to be trading and battling with friends.

With G/S/C, I never got to battle one live person with my team, because my friends only had Red and Blue. And of course, I couldn't battle them on Stadium 2, because they'd had Red and Blue so long that their teams were up around level 100, when my new team on Gold was around level 50... I'd love it if I were able to go online and trade and battle with people from all over, though.

This was announced months ago, and I don't know why it took EGM this long to realize it. Even the price was given.

From what I've read, yes it's another stadium game. It also has that cancelled Pokemon party game, known as Pichu Brothers, integrated into it for the minigames apparently. I wouldn't hold my breath about it being online though, but it could possibly have LAN support since Nintendo seems so big on that lately (which could possibly lead to some sort of hacked online battles, like Xbox had with Halo... depending on how Nintendo sets it up).

Then there is Genius Sorority, which was founded by some ex-Dragon Warrior programmer... It's heavily rumored that they are actually making the game everyone has wanted instead of Stadium, a REAL Pokemon RPG for GC. Who knows if this will come to pass, but it's more than just a simple hope like most of the rumors for this game that have existed for years now it seems.

The Pokemon Stadium thing is simply common knowledge. I don't remember where I got it. The Pichu Brothers thing was mentioned in some recent interview... and the Genius Sorority thing is a rumor that stemmed from Japan (I also believe they are somehow involved with the Pokemon Company, which adds to the rumor).

I don't exactly have a history of just making crap up... The Stadium and Pichu Brothers stuff is more or less fact according to what Nintendo has said. The rest is just a heavy rumor.

Now Nintendo is making it sound like this cheap budget GC Pokemon game they are releasing soon in Japan (May), is simply some sort of database thing that holds thousands of your pokemon... Certainly not the stuff they've referred to in the past, so who knows what is going on now (or if that is all this budget game is doing even).

Edit:

Yeah, this is what was originally mentioned in this thread... It's the first thing Nintendo announced Pokemon-wise for GC (and is seperate from the other games being made). It comes with a link cable and a memory card as well.

It's basically just a program to organize and save your Pokemon to a GC memory card. Thanks to neo2046 for the exact info and a link to the picture.

I tell you one thing, if it is an online PKMN STDM like I hope it will be, BEWARE THE BLOOD RED ARACHNID!!!

My guess is what extras will it have. I think that they will have a 2 on 2 tournoment. I just hope that they don't get rid of challenge cup. I hope that with this game, you'll be able to teach one of you pokes an "unlearnable move" (my question still stands in the quiz, that is why I'm not telling you them!).

Edit: Unfortunatly, the game is called ruby sapphire box or someting like that. It can store up to 1500 pokes on a save card. That is all that it does. Then agian, nintendo might still be making a pokemon stadium 3/4.
