Truth: The Beginning

Arikel stood by Kiria and looked over the small village overrun by plague, monsters and undead and sighed. Disasters were happening all over the world faster than adventurers could fix them and the only people seeming to make progress are the forces they were fighting against. Arikel took a deep sigh and walked down into town cutting away at the zombies with a sword conjured of the element of fire. Such a spell was taxing but it lasted more than long enough.

Kiria was quick and agile hitting the zombies several times with her dagger before being grabbed and held by one she was fighting, but undead's muscles are weak and rotten so she had no trouble ripping herself free of the zombie at the same time taking it's arms with her. Though their battle was harsh and their cause was just they were soon overwhelmed by the masses of the growing numbers of undead.

OOC: I know it's not much of a beginning but typing up the original 6k post i had that got erased halfway fried my brain this morning so this is what you all get.

Zombies were attacking Arogyth's town of Lillinaugh, he woke up in the slums beeing knocked there from a previous battle, nothing was around... he wondered if he was in hell. A scream... he must help...
*Arogyth opens his eyes and stands up looking down the alley...* he can tell it is night. He is still alive. *Arogyth walks down the alley to get a better view of the town seeing in sight of him 100s of zombies* A few walk tword him slowly as he pulls out his duel sword breakers.
"Time to decapitate some death" Arogyth said thinking that if they are already dead its ok to kill them again. The zombies walked closer to him as he ran forward into them decapitating them one by one with ease, he got through 7, maybe 8 before he figured he was in trouble, surrounded by monsters. Arogyth pulled his katana out from the sheath on his back
"ANY OF YOU LIKE FIRE?" Arogyth yelled as his katana roared with flames that seemed to scare the zombies.
"HUH?" Yelling again before he started ripping back into the zombies burning there rotting bodies to the point of crippling them.
Arogyth herd yet another scream. "Nooooo!" Arogyth yelled as he tore into a zombie with his katana
"You will NOT take my town!" He yelled as he tore into more and more zombies.
Seeing a clear path to the people seeming to be surrounded by zombies he ran to them.
"Don't let them overthrow my town!? Arogyth yelled to the two people ahead of them.
"We must protect the Lord!" Arogyth yelled pointing to large building at the center of the small town

"Dont these guys ever give up?!" she cries, sheathing the dagger quickly and grabbing her stave, jabbing back ward into an zombie, then staff peircing its body cavity easilty, then whipped it over her head, send it flying into a few others.

"Doesnt look like it!" Arikel called back, dealing with a few more zomibes with his blade. Bremma vaulted with her staff easily over to Arikel and popped a zombie sneaking up on Arikel with the butt of her staff, whacking it back into a building before drawing her dagger again. "Thanks." he siad. "Behind you."

"No porblem." She said, whipping the staff back and cracking the zombie harshly over its head. She looked over at the approchaing warrior, shouting at then to protect the town. She rolled her eyes. 'As if were not trying..' she thought, slashing a few more zombies and waiting for more.

John received word in the morning that Zombies were marching on a village quite close to his own. He left the stable on his horse as soon as the news reached his ears and readied himself for battle.

As John drew close enough to make out the faces of the undead, he began to fire off shots, each missile hitting it's target.

John was entering the battle now. Every short he fired pierced multiple targets, felling each one. Sill the battle raged on, John just hoped he had a sufficient number of arrows.

Nepenthe: ...rise. Creatures of earth.

A tall female planted both her feet firmly on the ground, then bent down and palmed the earth. Immediatly, three golems burst up from the rocks and surrounded her defensively, bodies pulsing with power. She stood up easily and jumped to one of their shoulders, staff in hand. The female smiled broadly. This was so much fun.

Nepenthe: Attack. Do not leave yourself open.

Like all of the golems she created, they obeyed her every order perfectly...fighting well, she smiled more. This was almost perfect. But acording to her last count, they didn't have more than 15 minutes of fighting left before they became defensive...then hit the ground.

She shrugged and fought alongside, easily ducking around the monsters and planting her staff through several backbones...

Arogyth taking out the monsters trying to lead the other two to the main building where he hoped his lord was safe, still 100 or 200 zombies in the way
"ENOUGH!" Arogyth yelled as he held is katana in the air. A whirl wind surrounded the blade while its still on fire.
"DIE!!!" Arogyth yelled taking a slash, the wind carried the fire 100' out cutting into 50 or 60 zombies. Arogyth wasted a lot of his magic power as he fell to the ground panting with his blade in t he ground. The slash got the attention of most of the zombies in the town as they started walking toward the source...
"Damn... It may have taken some out... but I don?t know how well I can fight now... and they are coming toward up..." Arogyth said... *sigh*
Arogyth got up and readied his sword breakers
"Lets do this"

One of the zombies closed in on Nepenthe and a black and white streak smeared it across the ground ( http://www.stormy.net/fantasy/mb-catm2.jpg ) It turned and spoke to Nepenthe with a dark and rich voice...

Siren: Good to see you again, Nepenthe... Still raising those dirt clods I see...

She ducked the rock aimed at her and chuckled to herself...

Siren: You'll never hit me like that...

She suddenly blinked... All the monsters were heading away from them, towards the building in the center of the town...

Siren: What are they up to?

The female raised one palm and the rock golems disapeared, and she summoned a single dark golem to twist through the shadows and follow their movements.

Nepenthe: What were you saying about dirt clods?

Siren: I rest my case.

Nepenthe: ....

She sucked in air through her teeth and shut her eyes....as if she was experiencing pleasure, then smiled and opened them again.

Nepenthe: Golem of shadow, hearken to my voice.

It twitched where it was hidden and swiveled it's body to hear her better.

Nepenthe: Do not hinder. Discover their meaning.

OOC: Miketsmith (Mike? Smith? Which would you rather be called?) Try using you name less. It get's rather repetitive.
-----------------
I scaled the roof of the building with ease. I found footholds in the smooth limestone easily and without any effort at all. I was in pursuit of the demon once again. A slippery fellow he was. Winged and black. Hard to spot in the night sky. I scrambled across the roof and aimed three throwing daggers at the shadow in the sky. I heard one scream and heard two metalic clunks against the streets below. A small shower of black liquid covered my clothes. I barely flinched.

Demon- "Leave me human. I have no quarral with you." I smiled and leaped another gap in the roofs.

Ryan- "You may not have one with me. But I certainly have one with you. You destroyed a village. You must die." I threw another dagger. It ripped through his left wing. He started flying very irratically. I jumped off of the building and watched as the demon fell to the ground. I walked up and pressed my foot against his throat. "Your hide will make good grieves." I shoved my sword through his face. Black blood bubbled out and the demon twitched. I pulled out my sword and wiped it off. I cast a small teleportation spell and all of the demons skin dissapeared from his body. A rumbling sound rocked the air. I turned sharply around, clutching two throwing daggers and my sword. The earth started to crack and ands shot up. The hands were blue with death. "Zombies..." I climbed a tree easily and watched as the zombies rose and started to head toward the heart of the city. Naturally, I followed.

Kiria look over, seeing the weakened elf. She stepped back a few steps, then ran forward and used her pole to long jump over to him, lannding in the middle of the group of zomies approchaing him. She twirled her staff around quickly, stunning and even dismembering some of the zombies before breaking through the group and getting to his side. "Think you can handle them alright?"

He nodded. "Yes.. that spell tooks ome energy out of me." he slashed at an approching zombie, nearly halving it.

"Next time make your you have a cover before casting something so strong." she commented, jabbing harshly at the mass of zombies, occaionally atakcing ones approching form behind.

John was glad the zombies were moving, it made them easier targets, as they walked in single file. John could walk behind them, fire off a single arrow, and fell atleast five of the enemy.

Their numbers were great, but at this rate, there wouldn't be any left to make it to the centre of town.

A girl twirled a bladed staff through the ranks of zombies. Another man was ripping though zombies using a large array of throwing daggers, as more zombies were being cut down by someone armed with a katana.

The battle would be finished in a matter of time, and then he would have to become acquainted(sp?) with aiding the assault on the zombies.

Little by little the numbers were dwindling, of course the heroes were sustaining damage but none that couldn't be ignored until after the battle. Arikel had scratch marks up and down his arms from being clawed at by the flesh eating corpses. Just when he thought he were actually getting somewhere in the battle, his sword extinquished. Muttering a short curse he grabbed his staff and moved through the croud of undead using it more as a defense than attack since he was a mage and used much of his energy with that sword, he was kind of vulnerable at that time for he knew for some reason he'd have to save his energy.

As Kiria, Arogyth and himself all worked towards the center of town he became aware of Three other living presenses within the town. A man with a bow and what seemed like an endless array of arrows firing through myriads of zombies with a single arrow, and two women nearby one seemingly in control of a conglomerate construction made of shadow and the other he wouldn't have been able to tell if she was humanoid or not if it weren't for his mage sight for in the form she was in was not natural to his knowledge.

He sent a wizard message out to all of the living people nearby, hoping that the overflux of undead energies will not disrupt the message and ruin his plan. He focused inward using Kiria and Arogyth to cover him as he gathered energy to cast the spell. A hush filled the air around him then a slight breeze encircled his body as he gathered teh wind that would carry the message. Then he carefully placed the message on each of the three winds he had gathered. AFter successfully achieving that goal he pushed the wind outward towards the three potential allies. Each person recieving theirs at the same time as the others, each hearing the same message.

Arikel:(speaking into their minds.) Be thee friend or foe, fight your way to the center of town, I have a plan. After that shall we discuss our situations here.

with that he put his concentration back into fighting off the undead that broke through his companions defenses as they fought their way to the center of the town where the hall of the nobleman lives. Arikel was quite proficient at the staff despite his magical prowess because the power of his magic comes to him almost like a second nature, he'd been able to use it since birth and yet he'd not gained much in power, he'd increased his knowledge and recourcefulness of magic quite a bit.

Weilding blade and staff expertly, the two women slashed, kicked, bit, and shoved their way to the center of town.... The shadow golem circled around them warrily....and like many of her singular creations, lasted for a very long time. Nepenthe smiled and continued with her brutal assult. Siren chuckled and continued her swift motions....and they made it to the center, breathing lightly, but covered in sweat.

The older of the two bowed low, tipping her staff against her side and willing the golem to her body once more.

Nepenthe: Greetings. My name is Nepenthe...

Siren: Siren.

Arikel: Are you both human?

The two looked at eachother quietly, then looked back.

Nepente/Siren: Kinda.

OOC>> Thanks

Arogyth: Forget the greetings, we must make it inside and make sure the lord is ok!

Arogyth started running into the building that was made of marble, almost like a roman colosem, running into the main room... to find it without his lord... but with an undead...

Arogyth: Why do you defile this land with your wretched spawn?!
Liche: You will all die!
The liche created a whirl pool of air around him pushing me away, then a studdy gust of wind and i flew into the wall
Arogyth: "Watch out! its a liche!" he said as the rest of the party walked into the room. he then hit the ground, breathing heavey coughed up some blood

The zombies were falling like flies. My daggers were getting more and more covered with stagnant blood. I would throw one, watch it slice through a zombies head, throw another, jump down pick up the one I threw, throw another, and so on. I was getting closer and closer to the center of the city. The zombies were getting fewer and fewer. Soon this battle would be over.
I jumped down to grab one of my daggers. An icy hand grabbed my wrist. I looked up into the empty eye sockets of a very old zombie. It uttered a guttural growl. I brought my sword up quickly and lobbed off the Zombies arm. It siezed up an the sharp fingernails plunged into my wrist. I yelled and slice it's head off cleanly. Three others turned to confront me. I started to rund over to the nearest tree. The zombies ran and followed me. I got about halfway up the trunk and felt another hand rip my ankle. I screamed as the shrap fingers hit my bone.

Ryan- "Back!" I stabbed it in the face and watched it fall to the ground. I scrambled up the tree and watched the futile attemps of the zombies. They couldn't climb. Blood leaked from my ankle. The arm hanging from my wrist finnaly relaxed and fell off. Blood began to leak from their too. I sighed and sprinkled a bit of herb over my wounds. They began to heal immediately, and very painfully. The skin stitched itself over the bone and sprouted from assorted spots across my foot. I tilted my head back and drifted into an unsteady doze.

Nepenthe smiled and planted both her hands on the ground. The breif pause for air had given her enough energy to suck down the darkness. She sucked in the air through her teeth and concentrated. Siren did likewise, and the two roared out together.

"Infinite Earth, Mother of all things, Submit unto my will!"

The ground shook and heaved, then the golems burst upwards, in the forms of several stone spikes. Several zombies were impaled at once, others crushed between the slabs. Nepenthe chuckled to herself....inside joke.

John stood there for a second watching to humanoid women litteraly suck down darkness. Light was cast around the area. The Lich was no in clear view, and amidst the chaos, the Lich wasn't looking happy.

His zombies were being crushed by golems, that had just arose from the ground. And other warriors, who had been fighting outside, continued wreaking havoc with his undead. John thought it best to take advantage of this confusion, and began spilling shots in the Lich's direction.

The Lich roared as arrows torr through his being, bones shattering all over his body. But he was not finshed yet...

While the Lich was pelted with arrows, Bremma snuck around back, waving her dagger to the archer, warning him of her presence. She sliped her staff into a holder acorss her back and ran at the Lich. She leaped in the air, bodily tackling him and sinking her teeth into his shoulder, bones crunching easily under her massive jaw pressure. She tore a hunk of his shouder out, doing the same to the other and his lower back. She growled deeply, getting off of the beast, unsure if it had yet expired.

It didn't move for a second, but then it jerked it head at her and cast a strong wind spell, picking her up and slamming her into a wall. She yelped, hearing and feeling her arm and a few ribs snap from the impact. She rose slowly and leered at the Lich, baring her teeth. "You will pay for that..." she ran and leapt again, with him quikly slamming her back into the wall, this time taking one of her legs. She roared in pain and frustration at her now handicap. She used her staff to help her rise. "He's crippled!" she coughed, a small bit of blood spiling out, "Mages, we need your skill now!"

OOCL Na, It's fine with me.

The Lich screamed as his body wreathed in flame. That scream seemed to echo on for ever to John, and sent shivers down his spine.

Despite the lIch's passing, the Zombies, remained. John stood above the circle of them, and the warriors below finished off the few that remained.

John sat down to catch his breath, as the rest of the group did. He sat there for a moment, wondering what would be the best way so as to find out who each of them were.

The golems salaamed to their mistress, then sank back into the ground. Nepenthe smiled and sat back, leaning on her staff and brushing her hair with her fingers. Siren leaned over and began to polish her katana...

Arikel: ...so you're not human.

Siren: Correct for twenty points.

Nepenthe: Sie...go easy on them.

Arikel: What are you then?

Nepenthe: My mother was Moonwings Eternal. And I'm her dark spawn.

She winked and bowed her head low, then sat up again. Siren grinned and said nothing....

He let the name play over in his head before his eyes widened with suprise. He looked at this woman and crossed his arms.

Arikel: So you are the one fated to carry on her legacy.

She only gives a short solemn nod and turned to have a quiet conversation with Siren. Arikel gives a slight sigh at this knowledge, almost sounding of pity as he turned to go aid Kiria with her injuries.

Siren: !!

Nepethe: Sike.

Siren: Don't scare me like that.....
