Damien looked away from Nepenthe disgusted with himself, he signed again with sorrow. He spoke as calmly as he cold as he leaned back against the cold tombstone. "I-I-I...how? How could you have known?" Damien said still looking away from her, as he questioned her with obvious surprise.

Nepenthe attempted to reply, but Damien held a finger out and press it to her lips to cut her off. He looked at her once again the speaks. "I can't. I don't need to know, nor am I sure I want to know how you know. But I really don't want to speak of it." His attention turned to the still dark sky, then spoke again. "Why did you come here?"

Damien shifted in his seated position to lean up more to give her his full attention. Nepenthe could see that Damien was trouble greatly by her even knowing of him feeding, but she thought to for a moment whether she should pursue it or not.

"You look hungry. My blood can sustain you...for a very long time."

He looked at her. Didn't she know the risk of him giving her the silver kiss? Apparently...or she wouldn't of asked. Or even know. She gestured to her neck once more, and tilted her head to one side. He paused. Her offer was extremely tempting....almost too much. If he did, he could kill her. But then again, she was strong.

She put her arms closer around him, and he felt his resolve crumbling.

"I'm not as delicate as you think."

Damien's mouth hovered trembling over her neck as she tried to get him to drink of her blood. He tried fighting the urge, even if she was not delicate, it was not Damien's wish to harm her in anyway. But not only were her pulsing vein tempting him, but her own sweet feminine scent was coaxing him into giving in. His fangs grew longer, and his turn a faint red as he felt her rub the flesh of her neck against his lips. Damien could take it no long, and wrapped his arms around swiftly as his sunk his teeth into her neck.

Nepenthe yelped in pain at the piercing teeth, but soon the pain subsided and it turned her expression to one of bliss. Damien's own expression look like that of someone still between sleep, and awake. He held her tightly as he drank from her, his mind went blank as he continued. He almost lost himself a few times, but kept his thoughts steady on her safety. Sensing that he had taken enough, he pulled quickly to make it easier to stop himself from taken anymore then necessary. Nepenthe momentary weakness caused her to collapse against Damien's chest panting, but she, true to her word, was stronger then Damien thought. She straightened up quickly, and smiled at Damien still looking sleepy.

"I-I told you I wasn't delicate. I am recovering quickly. So how do I taste?" Nepenthe asked with a sly grin on her face. Damien licked the last drop of Nepenthe's plasma from his fangs, then grins at her with his eyes fighting to stay open. Damien gets the strange to speak and replies to Nepenthe's question moments ago. "I suppose you're like wine. The taste is more intoxicating with age. But I feel sleepier now, the I usually would. Probably because of your nature."

Nepenthe: Then look into my eyes.

Damien: ...I...

She touched his chin with her fingers, eyes opening. He couldn't resist....the silver of her own drew his in...like endless wells, pulling him down into oblivion. Damien's eyes quickly closed and he sank down into her open arms, in a half blood, half induced sleep. She stroked his long hair quietly, smiling to herself. Hypnosis was almost too easy.

Siren stired in her sleep, and sniffed the air. That impossibly strong scent of spider blood mixed with Istari. She smiled. He would be very happy when he woke up. She curled herself up tighter and fell fast asleep again.

Everyone around her now asleep, Nepenthe opened her mouth and began to sing....quietly at first....blending with the natural things around her. She smiled broadly. Most of the time, when she did this, everyone around her either became drowsy, or exhausted....

John watched from the trees, strange creatures thses were. But her singing was putting him off...John's eyes began to feel heavy. Luckily he had been sitting resting against a fork in the tree, or he would have taken quite a fall. The female began to laugh, but continued singing as John drifted into his dreams

Siren crouches above Jhon, her golden eyes glinting in the waneing light... She purred softly then leaped to the ground and sauntered over to Nepenthe... She yawned widely and melted into her half human form... Tufts of fur stuck out of her black clothing at odd angles... She sneezed and settled down next to Nepenthe and grinned...

Siren: Your getting better... I was affected this time...

She eyed the sleeping form of Damien...

Siren: What's with him? He's a little jumpy... You gave him your blood... So I'm trying to see what you find in him.. He seems to possess a kind soul... I don't think he'd ever hurt someone unless forced... I can sense that his gift causes him pain...

She sighed and looked into Nepenthe eyes...

Siren: You know I still worry about you girl... Don't get yourself hurt over him...

She turned and slipped into the gathering shadows

Nepenthe's eyes flickered slightly. She was smarter than that.....to become lost in a thick love that she couldn't break free from.

She looked down at him again, touching his hair....waiting for him to awake.....quietly breathing.

Siren smiled. She knew what was in it for Nepenthe, but she didn't know how long she could resit the darkness. The female sorceress was quiet....the song was over, the moment had passed.

In his deep slumber Damien felt at peace, he was free from his burden for the time being. Nepenthe watches as Damien's breathing becomes heavier, a low growl begins escaping from Damien's lips. Nepenthe ran her fingers through Damien's hair speaking to Siren. "He must be having a dreaming. Perhaps a nightmare." Siren snickered a bit at the thought of someone like Damien having a nightmare.

Damien was once again being tormented by a voice, however this one seemed to have more of a physical presence behind it. As it if was another living being speaking to him in his dream. "You are such an amusing little vampire. I've yet to see a vampire with a soul, but I suppose you human half makes it possible. Quite a pathetic sight you are. Blessed with the ability to curse mankind, yet you feel guilt for it? Now that is truly funny. All of humanity will fade, and your new friends will die. You will be aiding in their demise!" The voice hissed at Damien as he growled louder in his sleep.

His teeth began to grow a bit once more, and suddenly sat up startling Nepenthe and Siren a bit. His eyes shot open glowing red with his rage, looking around wildly he slowly began to realize he had been dreaming. He looked at Siren, and Nepenthe smiling. "Have a bad dream?" Nepenthe questioned Damien as his fangs retracted, and his eyes slowly returned to their usual blackness. Damien holds his head, and nods as he began to get to his feet.

Looking to Siren Damien nodded sorta greeting her, then looked back towards Nepenthe. He felt a lot stronger after feeding off of her, and thanked her for her hospitality. Nepenthe laughed at his choice of words. Damien though is still feeling a bit disturbed by his dream.

"I'm going to go for a walk. I'll be back a little later." Informed Damien. From the way he spoke it was obvious he wanted to be alone for a bit, Nepenthe just smiled and nodded waving to him as he turned walking back towards the forest. Disappearing into the darkness Damien's thoughts were on what his future had in store for him.

Arogyth awoke... deciding he would need to have more power if he was going to defeat the greater evils he began to train. He went outside and practiced using his swordbreakers with wind magic, and finaly perfected a technique he had been practicing for a few weeks, he held the swordbreakers out to his sides, did a 360 degree turn and created a tornatio around him, he stoped it that because he knew it could get very destructive. He was on the ground panting when kiria came out side.

Arogyth -"Hello Kiria, did you sleep well?" he said, rising to the ground greeting her with a slight smile

Kiria -"Not the best sleep i had, but I did have comferting dreams, only to awake back into this..." she stoped her self from complaining. "Lets just go..." she said in a more calm voice

"Yeah, guess that's right." he replied. "Wish I could help. I only know elemental magic."

"Its alright. Arikel may be able to help it a bit." she commented, shuffling over to him. "It could be worse.. they could both be broken."

He chuckled. "Yes, I suppose. Lets start heading back. I'll race you!" he said with a smirk.

"OK... THAT was cruel..." she siad, unable to help herself form giggling. "Lets go. ..And if you try to race, I dont care how mad Ill hurt my leg, I'll hit you with my staff." she said, shaking a finger, then starting to walk.

OOC: I hope this is good, I'm doing this half a sleep so I hope it's not too messy or whatever.

As Damien walked through the forest thinking of many things, mostly of course of the dream he had only moments ago. His mind was filled with thoughts of it's words, it claimed he would be responsible for the death of the others. Damien felt like simply walking away to ensure the other's safety, but he thought that maybe it was just another spirit trying to push him to suicide like the others had often attempted. Damien also thought of Nepenthe, another reason he had not decided to leave. Perhaps it was a bit silly for him to think of her the way he does, after all they had only meant a few hours ago. But he was just drawn to her, she shared her blood with him and now she was on his mind even more so because of it.

The wind began to pick up, the trees blew violently as the leaves rustled loudly. This would just seem like a breezy night, however Damien could sense something strange about it. His coat, and hair fluttered in the wind as Damien brought his attention to the sky. From above a large winged creature swooped down flying right at Damien, but Damien's quick reflexes aloud him to escape harm by diving out of the way rolling to his feet. Turn he watched as the winged beast came around to attack again, however this time Damien stood his ground as it swooped down at him. Just as it was about to make contact Damien side steps extending his arm out to his side, it's neck was caught by Damien's arm immediately sending it crashing to the ground.

It's massive scale covered body hit the ground with a loud thud, and it screeched out in pain. It's rocked around on it's back a moment or two attempting to get up, but the boot of Damien pinned it down by the neck. It's wails became urgent, and suddenly Damien felt a surge of pain in his back causing him to hunch forward. As he attempted to see what it was he was hit in the face sending him sailing off of the winged creature several feet. This time it was Damien crashing into the ground, he lay in a small ditch motionless seemingly done for. The sounds of heavy foot steps are heard making their way towards Damien, and it stops just in front of him. Inhuman breathing is now heard, but just then Damien's eyes shot open glowing red once more.

Damien quickly jumped up from the ground standing toe to toe with what appeared to be another ogre, except larger than the others he had encountered earlier. The ogre reared it's arm back ready to strike again, it's blow coming in swift but seemed in slow motion to Damien as his vampiric speed kicked in. It's arm ran its course as Damien ducked it looking as if he hadn't even moved to the ogre. Standing up Damien hit it in the face with a palm strike to it's left temple sending it staggering back. Damien suddenly leapt high into the air aiming at the ogre, but is caught in the face by the razor share claw of the winged monster as it flew in attacking him. Blood erupts from Damien face showering the ground as he falls to the ground landing in a kneeling position.

His face was covered by a crimson mask, his face now sliced wide open from his left cheek to the right side of his forehead. Damien became anger, and literally went off in a blind rage as the blood obstructed his vision. Reaching behind his back he pulled for his long bladed katana he calls 'Despair', swinging it he felt it slice into the hide of the ogre as it roared out in pain. Damien pulled his sword free from it's chest, and lopped it's head off with another swipe. Turning quickly Damien was able to counter an attack in progress, he sliced one of it's legs off causing it to fall momentarily. It looked at Damien in fear then began to make an attempt to escape.

Damien gave chase, and leapt upon it's back grabbing in around the neck with his left arm. Damien with his right hand slits the winged creature's throat bringing it down for the last time ever. Damien held his face as his blood flooded through his fingers. Heading back to camp he didn't know how he would explain his newly acquired battle scar.

OOC: In case none of you have seen Chrono Trigger this is kinda what Arikel looks like.... Ears aren't as pointy and skin isn't as pale though.

http://pacolyn.org./FF/Chrono_Trigger/people/magus2.jpg
___________________________________________

Arikel was roused by the rustling of foliage and Damien bursting out from the cover of the forest.

Damien: Everyone up, we have to go.

Arikel: Huh? What's going on?

Siren: Almost as if sniffing the air. Greenskins in the air. Mostly likely ogres. We can't take them all we have to run.

Arikel: Ogres?! Let's get the hell outa here!

Arogyth: Walking up to the rest of them with Kiria. What's going on? you said something about Ogres?

Arikel nods slightly and starts gathering his things along with the rest of the group.

Nepenth: Their getting close, I can sense their tainted souls. Hurry up and get out of here, me and Siren will hold them off while you escape and catch up with you later.

They nod and get their things togather quickly, hurrying to the south as they hear the sounds of battle beginning behind them.

Siren: You ready to rock this party?

Nepenthe: Bring it.

As twin scimitars were drawn, the metallic clang of iron on steel was heard. Nepenthe smiled broadly and held hers like a javelen....muttering a swift seleted spell . As they crashed into view, a small beam of light grew at the tip of her staff and quickly traveled to the entire length of her weapon. Siren reciprocated with a similar spell, and the two concentrated until it was almost too late.

With a wild shreik the two shoved forward at the exact same time. Two huge beams of light twisted together like DNA before slamming down into the ground...forming a huge circle. The orgres panicked, and several turned on themselves. The light not only burned, but also seared their skin and blinded their eyes. Nepenthe and Siren ran.

The two vaulted and leapt away gracefully, moving fast enough to catch the others.

Siren: You think that was too easy?

Nepenthe: A balrog would've been more interesting.

Damien watched as Nepenthe, and Siren went to hold the ogres at bay, then attempts to follow as back up. But suddenly he feels a hand grab a hold of his shoulder, turning to face whom ever it was. It was Arikel looking at his blood covered face, Damien yelled at Arikel. "I have to help them!"

"Don't worry about them, they can take care of themselves. You better worry about yourself right now. If you go running off with all of that blood getting in your eyes, you'll be killed. There is no way you could have good enough vision to take on a horde of ogres." Arikel stated boldly trying to shove Damien south behind the others. "I care not about dying! Leave me be!" Damien yelled at Arikel in return.

Arikel stopped, and stuck his finger in Damien's face looking angered. "Maybe you don't. But I sure don't want to see you go off, and get killed. I think I also speak for the others when I say that. Maybe you still think of yourself as worthless, but you're the only one who sees that in yourself. We've only know each other for a short period of time, but like you we don't want to see others die. Everyone has a purpose here including you." Arikel finished his sentence, and shook his head and ran to catch up with the others.

Damien stopped, and looked back towards the forest wanting help Nepenthe, and Siren. But he thought to himself. "Perhaps, Arikel is right... I do not, for even a second, doubt Nepenthe or Siren's abilities. I must listen to Arikel, for his words are wise. Nepenthe, Siren....good luck..." Turning away Damien used his vampiric speed to catch up with Arikel and the others walking down the road looking over their shoulders every once in a while.

Arogyth looks to Arikel and questions him. "Where is Damien?" Arikel shakes his head a bit disgusted by the name, and replied. "He's thick headed. He doubts himself too much because of his "curse", as he prefers to call it, and by thinking so blindly he is willing to run off to prove himself to everyone that he is not evil like so many thought. If he did indeed return to fight the ogres in his condition, I fear it is too late for him."

Kiria turned to Arikel. "..And you let him go?! Why didn't you stop him?" questioning him for leaving Damien behind. Arikel just sighs as he replies "It is not my place to tell him what to do. We cannot order him around, I just hope my words were good enough to convince him otherwise about himself."

Suddenly, Damien's voice found it's way into the conversation. "They did, Arikel. They did. Your words were wise, and you've made me realize my faults lies within my self doubting. But tell me, Arikel. How is it you have me so figured out? I am as shallow as a puddle, yet you speak of me as if I were so complex."

The group followed the trail of Damien's voice finding him leaning against the tree, the blood on his face smeared and drying turning a sorta brownish color. Arikel smiled seeing that Damien had indeed taken his words to heart, and replied. "Well, even puddles ripple sometimes, bring the bottom to the surface."

Arogyth nodded in agreement, and added his own words of wisdom in. "All of life started in a puddle of muck. It doesn't necessarily have to be a big puddle to be deep, and complex. Besides even a puddle seems deep to some." Damien thought of their words, straightened up, and looked down the road to the south. "I guess we should get moving." Damien said, then continued with a joke surprisingly. "My facial is getting hard."

Siren and Nepenthe smiled and continued running. They knew that their power would regenerate eventually, but at the moment, summoning and any other magic was hopeless.

The two caught up quickly and ran side by side with the others....although it took them awhile to notice the two women running.

Arikel: How much time do we have?

Siren: Enough to sit down and have a full dragon feast and then keep going. But it's not a good idea.

Nepenthe: I'm hungry.

OOC: with permission I changed my character.

Dameon watched carefully from a distance learning how they fought preparing for they first encounter. While Raagar an old intimating grisly man and Kitsune a hybrid fox person sat talking behind him.

Raagar: I say we just ambush them or something!

Kitsune: and that is why we don't listen to you Raagar.

Raagar: Can it furry!

Kitsune: I swear Dameon, if he calls me that one more time I'll?

Dameon: do nothing right << staring into his eyes >>

Kitsune: yeah, I was just kidding << rubs his head >>

Three more of the group emerges from the nearby forest.

Blight: The ogres were sent as you commanded.

Squee: Yeah boss, just like you said.

Dameon: excellent, and I see you found Harper.

Harper: << nods >> I was speaking to Pyrial about having found they others.

Dameon: and his command?

Harper: they are the ones we were sent to dispose of.

Raagar: I'm crushing them!

Dameon: listen carefully, all of you they are pretty well formed as a group but not nearly as experienced as we are but still ?

Blight: we know, Dameon never undermine the power of the tattoos.

Kitsune: I don't understand why we have to worry if their aren't as well adept with them as us?

Harper: the power of the tattoos protects them Kitsune, like it does for us!

Raagar: AH! The power of my badger tattoo will defeat them all!

Dameon: You idiot! You can't handle them alone the Dragon guides them.

Raagar: But the Dark phoenix guides us, right!

Dameon: yes, but the dragon still may pose a treat!

Harper: what tattoos do they have?

Dameon: Snake, Wolf, Tiger, Black Widow, Hawk, and of course the Dragon.

Harper: well then sounds about as varied as yours with your Phoenix, Raagar's Badger, Kitsune's Fox, Blight's Bat, Squee's Paying Mantis, and My Wisp.

Dameon: Yes well rest up and prepare I'll go speak to the others maybe even our informer if I can get to him without notice.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name: Dameon Luciriel

Race: Half-Angel (Grants him Wings, enhanced attributes, and an unnatural fortitude).

Description: There are two kinds of strength, the physical and the mental, intertwined yet quite different. Dameon, clearly enough, has the former. Tall with hair the color of crisp autumn leaves partly hiding his eyes and falling messily to his shoulders he serves as an imposing presence. Broad shouldered, with the sort of build that speaks of more than mere physical labor, it is clear that he is more than passingly familiar with conflict. His eyes are strange, a blue as bright and clear as the cloudless desert sky, too clear. Because eyes are supposed to be fragmented things clouded by thought and impulse. Dameon's hold only the detached emptiness of the abyss.
It's not as if he hasn't seen things, he wears scars enough to prove such an assumption false. They draw abstract designs across his torso, make paths down his arms. On his back, a different sort of permanence a black phoenix rising from the ashes, wings spread, beak open in a defiant scream. It seems an ill chosen mark for Dameon, expressionless and seemly distant as the thought of snow on a summer afternoon.
Wings the color of midnight in a windowless room rise from his back. The color of lost sight, a black that has nothing at all to do with light and wishes no such aquantince. Folded against his skin they make him appear almost light by comparison, though ever embracing sunlight has in truth darkened his skin to a deep bronze. Simply clad as he is, in a pair of torn pants, he fails to be unremarkable instead drawing the eye in the manner of something unexpectedly missing. His presence holds the formless threat of the void about it, all the more dangerous in its lack of direction.

Natural Abilities of Note: Dameon is adept at psionics
- Mind Block: Protects from mind-altering abilities.
- Sixth Sense: Alarms him of incoming danger.
- See the Invisible: Allows him to see the invisible.
- Intuitive Combat: Allows him to read the surface thoughts of an enemy to aid in anticipation of incoming attacks o/r reactions to his attacks.
- Telekinesis: Allows him to move object/people/things with his mind.

Tattoo: A Dark Phoenix

Tattoo Power(s): The Dark Phoenix grants Diamoon with Elemental manipulation (mainly Fire and Shadows), and he may ignite himself in black flames that greatly enhance his physical attributes.

She sniffed the air, then looked around. Her energy was swiftly regenerating, but it wasn't fast enough for her likings. And then there was the smell of blood heavy in the air....abnormal blood. She turned around and placed both hands on Damien's blood covered face.

Nepenthe: So you doubted us.

Damien: I'm sorry.

Nepenthe: You should be. Siren would kill you, but we figure you have your reasons.

She reached into Arikel's pack and pulled out a beaker of water. Using a strip of her tunic, she doused the cloth and rubbed it over his face, effectively wearing the caked blood. Then she wrung out the cloth and tied it to her wrist. Siren stepped foreward and anointed him with oil...and the blood scent left.

Arogyth continued to walk with them and agreed that we should go see this friend of Nepenthe's, he sighed knowing her from a prvious time, he accualy went out with her daughter and it didnt go to well...
The party walked for a little while longer before they made camp, and Arogyth did his every night ritual of practicing with his blades, creating another tornato then going inside the tent they have created afterwords.

Arogyth: "So how long will it take to reach the wich?"

Nepenthe: "You should know, you two know eachother quite well"
Nepenthe smiled as she looked over at Arogyth whom had a very suprised look on his face.

Arogyth: "erm... yeah, well i was hoping no one knew about that..." Arogyth calmed his face "Keep the details between us?"

Nepenthe: Well, it's easy enough....Her daughter was untouchable. Raised to be the shrine preistess of Artemis....chaste beyond all reason. And when he met her, the two were completely and hopelessly in love.

Arogyth: ....I hate my life.

Nepenthe: Of course, that's when Kryas found them kissing in the actual temple of Artemis, when she was supposed to be praying. And Kryas summoned up the dark lord Loloth to end everything.

Siren: But they were in Artemis, would Loloth actually be summoned?

Nepenthe: No actually. Just a shadow. A little curse was involved...but nothing serious.

Arikel: Hey I never knew you were such a studmuffin.

With this Everyone felt the need to laugh as well, well everyone but Arogyth who looked quite smitten.

Arogyth: On second thought just let me kill him instead.

Kiria walks up putting an arm around Arogyth and smiles widely. Her voice almost seems to be physically soothing to him as she spoke.

Kiria: Relax and Have fun. We are just playing, notice how you are the only one not laughing? Remember the past is in the past, there is nothing you can do about it. Just look to the future.

Nearly everyone nods in agreement with Kiria's words as they continue south. In time they come in view of a small cottage on the side of the path, the yard is large with many a chicken and a small pig pen behind the house. Surely this is the Abode of Kryas the witch.

Arikel slows down and comes level with Siren and nepenthe and leans over and whispers something into siren's ear below nepenthes hearing range. Siren almost appears to blush but quickly regains control of her bodily actions before he smiled widely at her and moved back up to the front of the line leaving Siren to her thoughts, after what he told her, he knew she would have a lot to think about.

Kryas: Don't worry. It's all part of the house.

Damien stood at the back of the group as they entered the house, he eyed Kyras suspiciously as he walked pasted her. It seemed to be a rather rude thing for Damien to do, but Kyras just smiles and nods at him. Walking around the fairly large house Damien seen many works of art, and several curious relics. One of which was a small hand held mirror, it appeared to be nothing special, but Damien inspected it anyway. Looking into the mirror an image began to form showing some sort of scene, a shadowy figure is seen slaughtering a village. A sword is swung rapidly at the mobs of warrior trying to fend the being off, a thick fog of blood mist swirled around the air as each of them were slain quite easily.

"What kind of sorcery is this? What am I seeing?" Damien thought to himself, he watch as the village was set ablaze by the being with a discarded torch still burning. Fire consumed the village, and all were lain dead. The fires reach unbelievable heights, and as the fire began to shed light onto the one responsible for this destruction Damien's eyes grew wide with shock. He shook slightly unable to look away, then suddenly slammed it down back onto the table it was found on.

Breathing heavily Damien stepped back, and looked towards the others. Thankfully they had not noticed him as they were looking at the other wonders of the house, but Kyras approached Damien watching a bead of sweat roll down his face. "You seem troubled, what is the matter?" Kyras asked curiously.

Damien shook his head being brought back to reality, he then looked at Kyras and replied. "What is this mirror?"

"Ah, you are interested in the mirror. It's very mysterious no one really knows what it is meant to do. It show images, images of events that may or may not have happened all ready. Sometimes the things one sees in the mirror doesn't even happen. Some say it could be an alternate path we could have taken in life, or it is one still waiting to be taken in the future. Even what one feels in their own heart can been shown." Kyras answered sounding quite wise. Looking Damien in the face she could see fear, and asked something of him. "Did you see something disturbing in the mirror? You look troubled."

Damien shook his head, and replied with a half hearted smile. "No, no...just a little surprised, that's all." "Why?" Kyras asked curiously.

Damien looked away as if thinking, and turned looking back at the elderly woman, Kyras. "My mother...just seen her in the mirror. Haven't seen her since she died, umm....just a little surprised that's all..." Damien answer sound a bit dishonest, then continued. "Think I'll go and get some rest. I'll take this room behind me, thanks."

Damien then seemingly rushed into the room, closed the door, and locked it behind himself. He then sat in the darkness of the room thinking of the images in the mirror, and what they meant.

Who was it that Damien seen? Who could trouble him so greatly?

From outside the door he heard the others talking, and deciding which room they were going to take. He heard the door knob turning on his door, but from the outside Kyras informed whoever it was that the room had been taken by Damien. He sat there in total silence as the night went on.

Nepenthe changed her tunic again, to something more suitable for a stay in the house of Kryas... Greased leather and a belt of silver. She brushed her hair thoughtfully, and braided it back once more. Damien was sending out an aura of pain large enough to rock the foundations of the house...and Kryas was not the only one who could tell.....he would need to be watched.

She set down her hairbrush and sighed. Moving slowly, she opened the door and stepped into the hall. The mirror shimmered on the table, and beckoned to her. She picked it up and gazed into the fathomless dark. It swirled around her, and pulled her mind in. Nepenthe stared for what seemed like hours, until the light broke again. Her mother appeared, fully glorified, staring right at her. Nepenthe opened her mouth partially, then closed it again.

"Why do you seek me child?"

"Why do you hate me mother?"

"You are my darkness. You should have never been."

Her anger rose and she slammed the mirror down into the table again. Then she turned and unlocked Damien's door with her fingernails. It clicked, and opened for her. She walked in and sat down next to him.

Nepenthe: You looked at the mirror and saw your mother....

Damien: Who told you?

Nepenthe: You did. Kryas merely Sent me your thoughts, and I figured it out for myself. I looked into it as well. My mother stared at me....and that look on her face, still hasn't changed.
