Break

Well.. ever since I have gotten back to school in September to start year 10 (or Freshman year as you may say) School has been such a drag. This continued until we broke up for Christmas, when this.. drag.. was at its worst, I could barely get up in the morning and nearly fell asleep in lessons (just for information, I never acted this way in year 9).

The school managed to somehow affect my social life, and now I sometimes dislike being with my friends. I don't know why, so that's why I'm annoyed at myself.

As for the title of this topic, every day is a repeat. A bad repeat. It's just the same every single ****ing day and I'm sick of living like this.

Maybe its stress, maybe its depression, but can someone tell me what to do to get out of this grey repeat? Please.

Get high on marijuana?

No. But seriously Russ, you just need to get out and do sh*t you want to do once and awhile. School and all that is ok.. but once it starts getting to the monotonous point of depression and knowing what tomorrow will bring, you need a vacation. o.-

SLIPKNOT!

(good call on the title.)

anyway... let me tell you a story.
a long time ago, i found myself in your situation. every day was the same. no excitement...nothing different... a routine.
my routine was driven, i think, by a sense of responsibility. i had to do X number of things every day...
then i stopped caring. i stopped wasting so much time and energy worrying about what i had to do and started doing more of what i want to do. i became more spontaneous and started living most of my life on a whim. high school is set up to run itself. dont bother worrying over little things. they will work themselves out.
try to break up the monotony. when you feel like doing something, do it.
dont worry about what other people think.
like if you dont like what ive suggested, screw it, dont listen. im just trying to help.

Notice all the good metal bands start with the letter 'S'? Slipknot, Sepultura, Soulfly. ;P

Just take a vacation from your world for a day. Saturday, for example, just have some time to yourself to heal, chill, watch movies, w/e. Do something off from your normal routine, shake it up a bit.

Do it anyway. Just tell them you were sick or something. I usually wouldn't suggest something like that, but you sound really out of it. Try going somewhere you really like to go, and just hang. It may help out a lot.

*nods* I will stop worrying so much; I'm too paranoid/worried all the time, so I really should try to stop and lighten up a little.

I'll mix Ken and Keisha's ideas together, I'll take a day off school, and then stay at home all day, spend half of the day in the bath, then (OB is the only place I like to hang out, without friends that is) come on here, talk to people that I enjoy talking to.

Thanks guys. :)

(I'm all embarresed now, because it doesn't take much to cure me, I just wanted to get it all off of my chest)

Edit: I just asked my mom, and she ****ing said no, and then asked why. I said I was really stressed, and then she threatened to take me to the doctors (as I kicked things lots) I don't want to go!!.

Hey man I didn't know you felt like this really ... well I knew you hated school, but so do I!!! You seem alrite with your mates at school especially today where it snowed which was really COOL! I'm not sure what you mean by a vacation like a day or a holiday? If a holiday you can get holiday forms from school, because that's what I did. If not I think your mum should be reasonable and let you have they day off if it's coursing you that much stress (I know my mum won't let me, but coursework is really stressful  ). If it snows again tomorrow I think you should come definetely as it's fun. If you want some time to yourself then you can just tell me and I will leave you alone to have some peace. :)

p.s I agree you should do whatever you feel like, blow everyone else like in maths that was amazing with the cover teacher.

I noticed the same thing when I moved from Years 9 to 10. In Y9 I always handed work in on time (or early, yeech) etc, but as soon as I hit Y10, I didn't care about things any more. Not to mention I didn't like my friends that much any more (I was hardly ever noticed by them). It's a strange thing to explain, but something happened over that summer holiday that made everything seem not worth working for at school. I still feel like that now, really.

But, it was at that same time that I met my new friends, who I'm still great friends with today. So you may find that you'll start to grow away from your friends even more and start meeting other people. I guess that period, looking back, was the start of one of the best times of my file (which I'm still living now). It may seem slow, but sticking it out would be the best advice I can give. I can't offer much advice about getting off school, sorry (although putting bread in the sink, sticking chunks of stuff on it and running the tap over it does look a lot like vomit. Not that I ever did that :p). To be truthful, I've missed three Tuesdays in a row because I don't like the lessons or the teachers I have. It's a bad way of getting through things, because you'll regret it later, most likely. If you can convince someone that you really need a day off the that's good too, but I wouldn't get your hopes up about that. Once coursework's done and you start revising for various exams things get a lot more lax and you have a lot more spare time. One of the best things to do (although it seems a bit pointless seeing as Lady K and Ken have said it already) is to relax and take time out to do things you enjoy. Physical exercise is great for clearing the mind of stressing thoughts, so the gym or an afterschool sports club thing might be good for that. Do things you like doing and make them your priority when you're out of school (besides homework >_<). I never usually start work until after 5 or so in the evenings, and don't work until after 9. Set yourself up a schedule for having relaxing times. And be happy. That's the most important thing.

You make everything more odd and irregular. :)

Your coursework.. forget making it formal: Put some sarcasm and stuff into it, and then doing all that typing seems much more bearable. And then at the end, you just edit it slightly to make it formal again, and it still has that mocking tone. And then you get good marks, and not being bored while trying to get them too :)

And yeah, at school, do more of what you want, and say what you want. You can get real odd responses o_o
Like bringing an odd pair of trainers to PE.

Try wearing your tie backwards.. for some reason that is very noticeable o_o'

Hm, I think I know how you feel, Weh.

In high school, my attitude toward school was always changing.

In year 7 and 8...school was so very boring to me. I hated it.

But once I got to year 10/11/12, I was starting to enjoy it.

I enjoyed school the most in year 12, my final year. Even though the work was at its hardest, it was great to be the oldest in the school. There is a lot that comes with that seniority; teachers are less strict with you because you're kind of beyond that "moulding" stage. And of course, for me at least, my social life was a lot better. I was friends with pretty much everyone in my year level...and when you have a student lounge for your own year level exclusively, it's really nice. So I found myself enjoying school mainly for the friendships and the experiences.

I don't know what advice I can give you. The best thing to do is to find ways of dealing with your stress. Try doing the things you enjoy, that are also not going to put you out too much -- making graphics or involving yourself in a hobby. Things like that.

Sometimes even a long, hot bath is nice after a very stressful day. ^_^

So yeah, there are always little techniques you can use. As for your friends...I don't know what advice to give there. I found that my friends changed over the years as I matured...and that may happen with you too. Though that advice really is meaningless at the moment, for you.

I guess all I can say is that you should do your best. Talk to friends and tell them how you feel...and try using different techniques to relax. When school holidays come around next, you can let your hair down and party. ^_^

Aw, poor Wehboo *hugs Wehboo*

Stress is awful, especially during the beginning of high school. Personally 11th grade was the hardest for me, I almost had a nervous breakdown during the spring.. in addition to that ulcer, bleh.

I suggest doing things to clear your mind a bit, like reading a good book or listening to some relaxing music. Or just tell everyone about how you feel, sometimes admitting your problems is the best way to be relieved of stress. Your friends (IRL and online) are always willing to listen and help you out, so it is a good idea to look to them for support.

I know exactly how you feel. Last year in 9th grade I turned in all my work on time the school day went by fast and I atually liked school. Now it just doesn't seem the same. The day doesn't go by as fast, nearly everyday is the same. I still try to turn my work in on time but I don't put as much effort into it. Actually not only things at school changed, my home life has too. I'm on the computer all the time and I don't draw as much. I wish I did, yet I just don't feel like it most of the time. Which is wierd for me because I love drawing. I hope it gets better, life just doesn't seem as interesting.:(

School bites, I know. Freshman year is always the worst, and from the looks of it, I'll be repeating the grade. Eh, don't care. In any case, just **** the system Weh. Do what you wanna do more often, and don't take so much **** from day to day. Embrace the sleeping during classes from time to time. If you're that tired, then your body needs rest. Trust me on this, I've found myself doing the same things.

Best of luck, mate.

I went through this as well. It was more like... I see these people for hours every single day. By the time I get out of school, the last thing I want to do is hang out with them even more. There were some exceptions, but I needed something new to do. All I did was find quite a few good friends that I didn't see all the time and balanced my free time between the two. Worked well for me. You may have a different problem, but I'm willing to think that going out and doing things (even by yourself) would help a lot and get your mind off things.

Now that you bring up the topic, I kind of see what you mean, but I'm really not too bothered about it. Sure, I hate getting up at 6:10 AM every morning, take a shower, gel my hair, and rush out by 6:45 (it's rushing for me, trust me o_O).

What I usuaully do, however, is let myself look forward to something at different intervals. In first period, I'm waiting for fourth period, art. From there, I'm ganna talk to my friend on the way to fifth. In fifth, I tell myself that I'll be eating and playing GBA in lunch next period, and talking about some anime with my friend. It goes on like that, and when I get home, I just hang out on the 'net the rest of the day.

What you have very much could be some stress or something, and it will probably pass by the weekend, when you can have whatever the heck kind of day you want. :)

Life Step Two: Go to school
Life Step Three: Work till 1:30 then go home
Life Step Four: Turn on computer once in the door
Life Step Five: Stay on computer till 1 or 2 in the morning
Life Step Six: Go to sleep...
Final Life Step: Repeat

All I can say is do something random. Don't mean to sound rude but you can make your life however you want it to be. If lifes being boring then you gotta change that!

Man I had that problem once but I fixed it. How? You ask. Well this is how. I went to a mall, spray painted HELP ME on my stomach. Then took off my shirt put it over my head and started screaming "HELP ME I'M A ****ING MAD MAN!!!" then as I was chased by security I jumped into a fountain and began screaming "I'M DROWNING!" Yeah I got kicked out and all that special stuff but it was fun.

I don't really suggest doing what I did but I think you get the point.

Go do something random. Do something fun. Don't really need a reason. Just go do it!

(SLIPKNOT Isn't a bad idea)

RIL YOU ACTUALY DID THAT???

Oh boy...... .... *writes in her book* Tell him not to give yourself ideas... its a bad thing to do

Your giveing me ideas..

I could run from one end of our mall to the other in about........ a minute... stupid small mall -_- But

he does have a point... get out ... do somehting.... make a... wierd difference... . heck get banned from someplace (not here )

i was kicked out of a ...... card shop once...... it was all cause i kinda went crazy and knocked over a hige shelf of comic books...

HAHAHA banned for good

wouldent matter now...

they closed.... out of buisness

Go have fun.... if a school doesent permid fun...... its a screwed up school... i would do everything i could to do what i wanted anyways... ... well fun mightr be permited but i mean vacations a stuff

i would DIE trying to do that kind of stuff

if my school said no to all that kind of stuff

i would say i was in the twilight zone and i would die trying to avoid those rules

cause when we live our lives normaly... repeated patter

we jsut turn into..... zombies ...... programed humans...

it drains our fun... our spunk... or individuality from us...

so dont lose all that and try to put some swing into your routine...

juggle htings up a bit
