New Matrix movies

I don't know about making the new starwars redundant, but yes, obviously the new Matrix movies would make the original 1970's starwars look pretty pale in comparison.

But you do have to keep in mind that a lot of the equipment that was used to make the matrix probably only exists because of the amazing technological advancements George Lucas and his team developed...

I do agree with you somewhat, from what I've seen, the new Matrix movies do look pretty sweet.

There is no way I can wait for the new Matrix movies. :( The Matrix was my favorite movie of all time, and I must see the sequal (or was it a prequal?) on the day it comes out. *_* I'm not missing out on this...

Does anyone know the length that they are going to seperate the two movies? Six months, maybe? Hopefully?!?! I'm just hoping it's not a year like Lord of the Rings. >.>

The Matrix was an amazing movie, and the sequels look just as good, if not better. I can't wait for them to come out. I've got to sse them.

I have to agree that it makes Episode 2 look kinda bad. The special effects ar amazing. Does anyone know when these movies will be coming out? I gotta know!

Matrix was a great movie, and I admit they had some very groundbreaking special effects throughout the movie. I mean, how often do you turn on the tv and NOT see some show copying the 'Trinity Kick' as I dubbed it? I really loved the mood throughout the movie, but I have to stop you on the Star Wars comment.

In no way will it graphically or visually blow Star Wars out of the water. It will be impressive, but these are two very different style of movies. One is supposed to be taking place on a not too distant future in Earth. . .the other is taking place (if I may) in a galaxy far, far away. One has space ships, lightsabers, and a multitude of aliens; the other has a bunch of humans, be it real humans or computer programs set to look like humans, along with cars and a lot of bullet firing guns. I don't really see how they could be compaired. . *shrug*

On a side note, if you are talking about any of the CGI effects in the movies, all I have to say is - Yoda Fight - and enough will be said. ^_^

I am really looking forward to the next movie, and hope that I am not working myself up for ANY sort of dissapointment, but I will definitely be in line the opening night to see this movie, even if I have to wait until midnight like I did with Star Wars II and Lord of the Rings II.

It looks amazing, i have been waiting 2 years (the first time i heard of this) and from what i gathered, they are bringing them out at the same time! Oh well i may be wrong. There is a Half and hour long fight scene on a flaming molten earth. The effects used were so high-tech and costly, they will not ever be used again in the near or far future!

Yeah, same here. I believe that it must have been summer of 2000 when I first heard from my friend that the Matrix will be releasing a triligy. Two and a half years later, and here I am, still waiting. o_O

Da Popo, please try and post something more constructive than 'i do' in the future. -_-

The SW Episode II graphics were excellent and took a year of 60 animators to complete, so if they pale in comparison to the new Matrix movies' graphics, I can't wait to see for myself. :)

I don't know about that. Surely someone is going to want to copy it.

I hope that these next two movies are not a dissapointment, I have waited about 3 years or so for them to come out. If it is littered with symbols like the last one, which referred heavily to Alice in Wonderlad, and the Bible, the it will be worth seeing. If it is just all gun-ho, and nothing else, (don't get me wrong, i love the fighting) then it will probably be downplayed as a way to milk the original further.

But form what I've heard, the opening scene will be
Set in a scene simillar to the mad hatters tea party, possibly celebrating their first breaking of the matrix
I dunno if that's right though, my sources a pretty old now.

 • 2 weeks later...
I was an article in newsweek about the new flick and the creators said that they drew inspiration from akira and ghost in the shell.

I dont know how much or exactly how...

But either way, the movie looks awesome.

Keanu Reeves flying... hot damn thats gonna be awesome.

I will be in line to see the flick once it opens, but I dont think Im gonna go on the first day. Not with all the crap I had to deal with for lord of the rings. After that I learned my lesson.

I am a really big fan of the first film the matrix, and I've been going around trying to find out as much about the story of the second one as I can... because I want to at least know what I missed when I DON'T SEE IT!!

I can't blame the creators for making a couple of sequals, but quite frankly I don't see any way how they can outdo the first without somewhat disappointing(and this is from somebody who is a huge fan of car chases). The first one is my favorite movie of all time, and I would not dream of touching it with another one. I would much rather just leave it the way it was in my mind; what I got from the first Matrix was absolutely flawless.

Also, the fighting in the original film was outstanding. It had the bullet time, and it had the high flying choreography, but it managed to do something that I don't see in a lot of the Martial arts films of today; it put in a good share of simple boxing techniques. For some reason, I don't feel the second is going to do this much(I may end up being wrong, but I still don't want to see it). I'll admit, it may be too hard to resist, but I'll try to sit back, watch the orinal Matrix, and forget all this stuff about sequals.

I just can't wait for Reloaded and Revolutions.I saw a preview of the car chase in Reloaded and that just ROCKS!.I haven't heard much for Revolutions though.

There's also the ANIMATRIX coming out.I've seen the trailer about a hundred times and can't wait. The graphices are really nice.

Wrong, I have the making. Nearly every thing there was pulled from mixes of japanamtion, fight scenes, random idea's, this guys art work and the to script writers/directors weird heads! (Among other things.)
Most of it was designed especially for the Matr|x, and bullet time(tm)(lol), is now everywhere... :D

Sequels are never or rarely as good as the original, BUT I'm hope that the matr|x 1 was the prequel, prequels are never as good as the main one, witch means MAD *** MATR|X 2!!!

Release date is May 15 for Australia, that?s my sources any way.

What do you guys think of the animatr|x? Damn that is going to rock, even if the 2 matr|x movies don?t?

I hope it?s good.
I heard it?s already on Kazaa (401meg) but I?m going to wait for it on the big screen, the only way to see the matr|x? :D
