Are there any songs on the radio that seem to come on so often, it drives you crazy?
About how many times does it come on a day?

Annnd...

Are there any good songs you think they should play more often?

Lastly,

Are there any songs you like having played over and over on the radio?

Avril Lavigne.. Avril Lavigne.. Avril Lavigne.. *shudders*

I can't stand her.. her songs are played over and over again, especially that Sk8ter Boi (or however she spells it) song.

Yea, right now you can guarantee that you'll hear Avril, or Eminem, at least twice a day ><

Songs they should play more often? Well, if I had it my way, they'd play the Beatles, but I doubt that's ever going to happen. heh. There is a song that I like, but they never seem to play it, or I always miss it. What's the Deal, I think it's called. Don't know who sings it though.

I can handle Eminem being played a lot, at least they don't just play one of his songs. But I do get sick of it after a while.

EDIT: Robbie Williams. I don't mind his songs being played a lot ^_^.

Very little of what I enjoy is played on the radio. Even with bands I love (NIN and Manson get more radio play than most of them), I tend to get very tired of the singles as they are played more than I care to listen to them. It's also rather aggrivating that most of the better songs on CDs (at least in my opinion) never become singles.

I've found the best solution is to simply not listen to the radio at all. The only thing I've listened to on the radio in the past few years is classic rock.

when a label releases a single, they dont release the best track because when people buy the record, theyre disappointed and say, "they suck." they release a pretty good one so it gets played because it "doesnt suck" and people are impressed by the rest of the tracks and want to hear more.

played too much:
over christmas week, every time i turned on the television to MTV, i saw christina aguilara's, "beatiful." it made me vomit a little every time i saw it. it was played every half hour. sad.

not played enough:
most good music. people dont have taste anymore.

wish to be overplayed:
none. i do not wish this terrible fate upon anyone.

Well, I agree with Rain, Avril Lavigne is so overplayed, her songs are good, but when they are beaten into your skull 8 times a day, they start to suck. Nickelback was very overplayed here in England, and so was 'Without Me' by Eminem. Oh, Nelly songs as well, especially that annoyingly catchy 'Dilemma' ft. Kelly Rowland! I liked, pay to attention to the liked, but these songs now bug the hell out of me.
But, there are songs you can listen to over and over and over again, like Rage Against The Machine, and The Streets!

Songs that are overplayed include anything by Nelly. I love Nelly's music but I get sick of hearing his songs, some of my favorite songs by the way, get pounded into my ears over and over again. As Alexus_Bing said, "Dilemma" has been so overplayed its sickening.

Songs that I would like to hear more often: Don't know, But I do wish that more radio stations had a "Back in the Day" or "Time Travel" program that plays 80's pop/rap/r&b/rock etc.

shakira-dirty and avril lavign-(i cant remember it, its her slow song) f*ck those are so annoying!!! thats why i hate the radio now. i just listen to japanese stuff like hikaru utada and ayumi hamasaki. 2 songs i could never ever get tired of are
hikaru utada - sakura drops
and
hikaru utada - simple and clean (original version)

god i love those songs!! and so far i remembered the first 3 verses of sakura drops:
-----------
koi wo shite owari wo tsuge
chikau kotowa kore ga saigo no heartbreak
sakura sae kaze no nakade yurete
yagata hana wo sakasu yo

furadashita natsu no ame ga
namida no yoko wo totta su-tto
omoide to dabura eizou
aki no dorama saihousou

doushite onaji you na panchi
nandomo kurachaun da
soredemo mata tatakaun darou
sore ga inochi no fushigi
----------
damn i love that song! i know most words but i dont wanna write all of it. in english, sakura drops is cherry blossom drops. u guys should listen to it, its really really good:eek:

What radio station?
I never hear Avril Lavigne here... I did in Galveston, but all I can find here are Rap, or Sheryl Crow. >.>

I usually stick to Mtv, but there's way too many shows in between... = \

If so many of you people dislike basic radio stations... There are quite a few college stations where students play whatever they want. Quite a bit of punk is played, sometimes death metal. You never know really. I recommend people look into it.

Who hooo, oldies! *grins* ...What?

Anyhoo. I don't listen much to the radio, and when I do, it's only to songs that I already know. Hm. I hear Avril a lot, and I have to agree that her songs are....wearing thin.

I think they should play songs that were popular six and seven years ago. I know those songs, heh.

Or Billy Joel. *grins, faintly embarassed* I grew up listening to Billy Joel and Elton John. My mom was a fan. Uptown girl....she's been living in her uptown world...

Or Kiss From a Rose. Dunno how it goes anymore, or who sang it, but I loved that song, heh.

*whirls off in a flurry of songs she used to know*

That Moment of Zen brought to you by: Stupidity.

The main things I hear overplayed are on the Pop and Rap stations. In San Antonio, I listen to the rock station [99.5 KISS], and I dont really hear much thats overplayed. Heh.

But the artists listed before this post [Avril, Missy, Justin] all plague the poppy and rap stations to the core.

the sad thing is, the videos are between shows, not the other way. i was so happy when mtv2 aired. we were all like, "wow! a channel that plays videos all the time... wait doesnt this seem familiar?" now mtv2 is playing shows, too. just wait. its going to end up just like mtv.

channel+all shows-all videos=suck.

Spikey, Linkin Park is probably the most overplayed band on the radio ever. :P Anyway, Ken is right about the radio stations here. 98.5 DA BEAT, plays the same songs over and over. -_- And Ken Kiss does have it's fair share of overplayed songs. Thats why I don't listen to the radio.
