Yeah, I've seen both movies; they both leave you wanting more (especially Blood because it was so good ^_^).

For this reason, there are many people who dislike these and other such movies, but I don't find them half bad. If they did a good job on the movie, but don't necessarily leave a solid ending, it doesn't really mean that it isn't a bad movie. On the contrary, it leaves the story open for a sequal that could keep the great story line and even end it. However, if the ending wasn't solid because it just plain sucked, then I feel your pain. ;)

I believe that there are sequals in the works for both of these movies, so don't be disapointed. Be excited to see the rest of the story. :)

Ghost in the Shell cannot end as the manga doesn't end. They both finish off in a simliar, although strangely different, way.

Stand Alone Complex, the sequel to the original GitS anime is in production now. Dark Horse has finally gotten translations of the new manga in stores now as well. They are sold in comic form for about $3.99 or so. I recommend checking them out.

Blood... I don't know. I figure just to let people's minds run wherever or to leave room open for a sequel. I thought the entire thing was rather disappointing though.

Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
I hate to correct people but Ghost in Shell Complex is not a sequel to the movie but is more like a prequel to the film.

As for both questions Ghost in the Shell 2 is currently under development in Japan and pics should be made available soon. As for Blood the Last Vampire a follow up to the movie is scheduled to go under production after the manga is finished so expect that sometime in 2003 or 04.

Also being the fact that Blood is digitally animated it is rather expensive and yet costly budget, so you must also take into account that the budget for a sequel would be over 15 million for a misley 45-50 minutes.
