Zidargh
Ok, I myself do not have an X Box, but shall get one when I save up enough. But when I was round Tommy Vercetti's house, we watched a video of Kung Fu Chaos, I was wondering if it had been released in the US and had anyone played it. Because in my opinion, it looks hilarious. Its basically big headed- small bodied 3D characters. And the graphics are actually very impressive. It reminds me of a spoof of the Dynasty Warriors section. So anyone, need to post something?
Semjaza
It's currently not out anywhere. MS has shown it to some people in the industry and whatever else though. It supposedly is really damn good. Penny Arcade is supposed to have impressions up sometime.
Tommy Vercetti
This looks like quite an interesting game as the characters look really funny and the video is pretty good but doesnt really say what you can do it just like shows you all the characters and some of the moves they can do but there is no commentry to say whether there is a story behind it or what the gameplay is like etc.
Bing
Heh, I saw a screen of a few characters. They look highly amusing. Ha, too funny. I won't be able to play it, because I would just keep laughing. It looks fun though. Is it multiplayer?
Tommy Vercetti
I think it should be multiplayer like an all out tournament battle where its like the last man standing would be cool the characters look funny especially the monkey one. Bing
What is the actual gameplay like, does it play like Dynasty Warriors? When you just run into a big crowd, and mow them down, or is it more skillful than that? Where did oyu see the video, becuase I may have the disc with it on?
Sniglefager
I saw the video at K-Mart, but it was a couple months ago. It looks kinda like a Super Smash Bros. Melee type fighter, so it will probably be pretty good. The charecters do look pretty funny. I don't own an XBox, but I play it all the time at my friend's houses, and one of them plans to get it when it comes out, and I look forward to playing it
Tommy Vercetti
Im not really sure what the gameplay is like but if it is like Dynasty warriors then that would be good i think there should be like a massive kung fu battle in which you ad several mates can play as a character of you choices and then you have to fight a wide range of different enemies and ninjas and there could be up to 30 people on screen at once but i suppose you would need a wide screen tv for the best effect of that. Bing
Heh, 30 people fighting in a 14' Television, that would be very...hmm...tricky to identify who you are. I guess it would be fun, but games like this get repetive and loose there touch very quickly. I will probably rent it for a couple of nights.
Tommy Vercetti
hehehe it would be a bit impposible on 14" television screen although i found on dynasty warriors that the people like disappeared when they were near you and only showed up when you got very close and in combat with them. I think i may rent it also and see hwat it is like and then decide whether i would buy it or not.
Bing
Dynasty Warriors wasn't challenging, and I think you could complete it by renting it, which is what I shall do! You never did tell me where you saw that damn video either!?!
Tommy Vercetti
I saw the video on the Jet set radio future disc as it has videos on it as well. Dynasty Warriors 2 wasn't very challenging but i thought number 3 was more challenging as the levels were alot more detailled and had more enemies. Or do you mean about just dynasty warriors the like tekken style fighting game because i dont think i have played that one.
Bing
Dynasty Warriors 2 is what I mean. That video, I don't think that is actually in-game footage. It certainly doesn't look like it. This actually makes every said in this thread to do with the game play style a load of rubbish. Oh Well! This has a lot of information, including 56 screen shots, so for those of you who haven't seen that 'taster' video, check this out.
Sniglefager
It seems like a kung-fu version of SSB:M. Not that that's a bad thing, though.
Bing
Yes, I suppose it could be described as that, but I think there will be less characters, and maybe more realistic maneuveres. I think it will be on a 3D basis as well, unlike SSB and SSM:B, which were all on an almost 2D platform
BigCajones
*looks in old magazine* hmmm this looks nothing like the Dynasty Warriors series or Super Smash Bros for that matter. It looks like a game which could be finished in a matter of hours. There is six movie-themed levels. This game looks funny still spoofing movies such as the Titanic and Jurassic Park. It's a multiplayer slap em' up where you punch, kick and taunt your way to the top, while laughing to the extreme! :)
Bing
Thank you for that. Well, you fight on old movie sets, as the main theme of the game really. With only 6 levels, this seems like a game you could finish, as you said, in no time at all. Definately in the to be rented only category. It has not been released yet, so we don't know how it fights, so please don't throw our suggestions away, just add to them with your own. Cajones, do you know how many character there are?
Blade
Here is a link about Kung fu Chaos, it has screens and and a short review about it. http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/22515.asp Regards Blade:naughty:
Bing
That website basically covers what has already been said, but it's good to get some 'offical' news. Thanks Blade
Semjaza
Hmm. It doesn't seem to be going over very well with reviewers at all in the bigger magazines... Although Gamerankings.com had it at like a 80% average last I checked, the fact that it averaged a 4.5 in EGM is not a good sign I'd say.
Charles
Yeah, they really blasted the character designs and inappropriate humor. The interactive elements in the stages seem to be hit and miss. On one hand they offer a new level of stratgey. On the other, they result in frustration and cheap deaths. It's a shame too because the game seemed to have potential.
Bing
Heh, I guess it's not the great game we've been expecting, and discussing for about a month! It seems like a very sketchy game, could maybe be describe as a poor man's Super Smash Bros Melee? Well, from these descriptions, that would be my interpretation. Yes, as Charles said, this game did have potential, and it's a shame it's not as good as it could be!
