Syn
I dont know much about it, but i've seen the movie, and it was great. The characters are great, plus it has a french man in it ^_^ I think the kid in it was partially inspired by Akira but yeah, thats just me. If any of you have seen it, what do you think of it ? Syk3
I have yet to see Spriggun, but is it true this is an unofficial movie to the Trigun series?
Syn
I wouldnt have thought so, it isnt set out anything like trigun, neither does it look like the same animation.
amiboshi
It's nothing like Trigun at all. O.o I thought Spriggan was a good fighting movie, but certainly not my favorite or anything. My brother on the other hand, is crazy about it. -_- I liked the music... It was cool...Especially the ending, Jing Ling. ^-^ I don't really anything else to say about it... I wasn't too impressed with the animation or the story line, so... I know there's Spriggan manga called Striker... I wonder if it's any better? Syn
Dunno, but is there a video game of it ? Or a game called spriggan. The main character, I forget his name, his past wasnt anything special, but it was cool anyway o.0; but no the story line was corny.
Syk3
Originally posted by amiboshi It's nothing like Trigun at all. O.o
Well, that throws that rumor out the window. ^_^ Someone was trying to tell me that Spriggun was the Trigun movie, expect for the fact that no one from Trigun is in it. I was like...*_*
Syn
Lol, well it has absolutely no relation to trigun what so ever. I would most deffinately reccomend it to anyone who has the chance to watch it though.
Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
Umm no for the record that rumor for it being the unofficial Trigun movie is totally bogus. Overall this movie isn't really that great it has one or two interesting characters but the excessive violence with very little plot is a bit to much to bare for those craving more. Animation style wise it's perfect, what more can you ask for. However some of the characters including Fat Man, and General McDougle just don't give the film any justice. The stereotypical fat guy that is made out of muscle has been done to death already. As for McDougle aka the kid he is sort of like stab at the Akira movie, perhaps the director wanted to pay homage to Akira. Overall the film did have some interesting elements such as Noah's Ark and how it worked.
Syn
I dont see why anyone would want to pay homage to Akira, I wasnt too impressed by it to be honest, I was really excited abot watching it when it came on because everyone said how good it was, I got bored half way through and turned over.
I don't want to stray to off the topic but I agree Akira isn't all that great compared to other stuff out there. However it is a well known fact that many anime directors pay homage to other anime classics. The director of Patlabor wanted to pay homage to Gundam with it's franchies and likeness to gundam. Nadesico wanted to pay homage to Macross with the Nadesico ship. It's really just a common practice of anime directors much like the way video game programmers pay homage to the "classics" in their games.;)
Raiha
I liked it....of course, they must have gotten a special discount on the red paint for all the blood in that. *thinks* It must have been the same discount they got for Kite.
Genkai
I have seen it often at blockbuster, but it doesn't look ALL that great. Trigun????? 0_o;;;; No. Anyway, it's gotten mixed reviews, I don't think I'l be renting/buying this anytime soon, but maybe some other time I'll scrounge up 5 bucks and rent it, or, if the College anime club shows is sometime, maybe. I didn't care for the plot too much, it was a little boring to me. But that fight was pretty cool. XD

XD
Hmm I think the major flaw with this movie was the fact it stressed too much on blood and non stop violence. Sure that is always fun for about 20 mins until you realize it's been down quite a bit,and in certain cases like with Spriggan undermines the plot. As for the whole Kite thing I totally agree with you Raiha. Umm O_o in fact I'm kind of shocked you actually watch anime that's news to me certainly. Hybrid
Ok, I got the feeling this Anime is quite old, but it was on the other night, I'd never heard of it before I watched it, and I have to say I thought it was pretty damn good! Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has seen it and knows if theres another movie of it or anything?

silentdeath
sounds interesting, what kind f plot did it have?
Hybrid
Well its based on earth in the not to distant future some scientist discover an ancient artifact known as "Noah's Ark" which can elevate its holder to the status of a god, or wipe mankind form the face of the earth (your usual Anime threat). Theres these two secret oragizations that want the artifact for themselfs; one wanting it for evil, and one wanting to destroy it. Then this organization called "ARCAM" send their elite agents which are called Spriggan to defend the artifact against these half human half cyborg agents of the organization that wants to use the artifact for evil. The animation for the fights was stunning, from martial arts to gun fights (The still use todays guns), if you haven't seen it, i suggest you watch it :D I hope that made sense >_<;

Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
I have to disagree with you in this being a good movie Hybrid, this movie's main focus is only on being extremely violent the plot is sub par, and rather disappointing, the animation style is probably the only thing going for it. It's basically an extension of a DBZ fanfic with a plot that tries way too hard to act like a scifi flick and fails at that greatly. Also I was rather upset with the fact that this anime like many other's trashes Americans way too much. Overall not a bad movie, but for many of the old school, or hardcore anime fans they are going to find this one rather stale and unimaginative. Rating: 5 out of
Anime_Ninja
Definitely one of the best Anime movies I have ever seen because the guy who made it was supervised by the great Katsuhiro Otomo(Akira), and the animation is so awesome to as well as the action scenes.
