NeoCactuar
After many hours of flying the Hunter, and many hours of clipping buildings and power poles (Chopper flyers will know what i mean) i have observed a very strange occurrence indeed. On several occasions when flying the Hunter, and hitting buildings until the smoke from the engine turned to black, i noticed that after this, if i flew around for long enough, without hitting objects, this damage would seem to repair itself. Now, yes, i am aware that this will happen with a car sometimes, but it usually re-appears after driving a short distance, and will certainly come back when you hit something. Unlike the hunter where the damage, like i said, seems to repair itself. Now, i may be hallucinating, or i may just be crazy, but it seems to me that it slowly repairs itself, never to full health, but about half way (Someone who has played Red Alert will know what i mean). Others have observed this phenomenon, including people on this board, like flashy. It seems to me something very odd is going on indeed. *Plays X-Files music*
Chaos
Strange indeed. I know the troubles of clipping all too well, and I must say, this is good news. Continues on with the Apache madness...^_^;;; But still, how is an attack chopper from the 80s supposed to regenerate? O_o

O_o
You never know what these millitary's keep secret. Regenerating Helicopters... We might think of them as being 2500 A.d but they might already be here o_O Maybe the makers of Vice are sending us subliminals o_O;;; Uhh.. that's not really anything to do with anything. -Break
James
I don't know about that, I mean...I've never seen it happen. I'm sure it does happen, but I'm guessing it's primarily due to poor programming. The same phenomenon does not occur in Red Alert 2, however. Your units will regenerate health in RA2 based on their current level (lv. 3 units repair ultra-fast, for example). Still, it's very weird in GTA. I've definitely noticed that the smoke will go away with cars...but that it's only visual. The car itself sustains any damage that was previously inflicted. So it might just be a visual illusion with the chopper, but it's really hard to say. I'm guessing that since choppers aren't the main focus of the game, maybe Rockstar North didn't put as much emphasis on programming them accurately.

The original damage, like i said, almost seems to disappear. And when i said Red Alert, i did not mean it was a glitch. On some of the units (Mammoth Tank, Ore Truck ect...) they will repair, but only to half health.
Tommy Vercetti
I haven't had that happen to me i usually just jump out in mid air when the black smoke starts to happen, but i usually kill myself when i drop out but its funny to do :)
Red
This is weird indeed. -_- However, I did fly around in the hunter for quite a while and went crazy with it. At one point there was a ton of black smoke so I landed and bailed out. Nothing happened so I decided to jump back in and just fly back to save. To my surprise I clipped a ton of buildings/cars/pedestrians (okay I deliberately hit them, but it's an apache!) and there was only white smoke. It seems to be exclusive to the Apache though. :(

Bah it sucks, hehe. Anyway, I found that with motorbikes, even after their long endurance, they still carry on getting damaged even though any marks or smoke appears. But with the normal helicopter you find (I forgot the name obviously)I saw that it does get repaired but only minorly, see for example if i clipped a building and black smoke appeared, I could clip a building again and black smoke would appear again as one more clipping would set it on fire. But it may just be visual effects that I cant notice. I have no idea.
Tommy Vercetti
Well i can't play vice city anymore boo hoo :( and its not because of cheats i lent it to a mate and they scratched the f**k out of it dont know how but it was very annoying and if my brother finds out he is going to kill me and i'll get shouted at by my mum or something so that sucks but i have used the health cheat but i think its funny jumping out in mid air. BigCajones
I don't find that health and weapons cheats ruin the game as when I save with them on I don't get a warning. It's ones that could last in the game which you may not want to happen like pedestrian ones for example. My vehicle usually gets repaired when I use the health cheat, but it could just be me. p.s sorry to hear about the game Vercetti.

I agree with using the health and armour cheats especially when the swat team are going crazy!!! However i think the weapons cheats ruin the game, I onl use them for messing about but never on a mission. p.s what happened to Vercetti's game??? Um, look at his last post in this thread. He says what happened to it, lol. - Desbreko Regards Blade:naughty:
