Hyper
We all know the basic TCG rules right? But does anyone here play with some sort of special rules or victory conditions? I've played with a group of different styles of playing. Here's a list of some of the msot common. Have anyone palyed these kinds? Which style other than the official rules do you normally play by? No Tributes - Possibly the most common style other than the real rules. Obviously, you play with no tributes. Per Ante (0.o;; okay..) - The winner gets to take one rare card rare card from the losers deck. Hehe. This comes in several forms. Usually me and my friends play with just normal rares, no supers, ultras, or secret rares. Really helps get good cards. But dangerous to play. I don't take staples or anything too important. Tag Team - Just like in the duels with the Labyrinth brothers and the Mask brothers. This can be very fin. I usually play 2 vs. 2. and it works great. Tyhis is really fun. So whats YOUR style? Kinetic
[color=darkblue] I very seldom play with no tributes, and with my current deck, I probably won't for a while :p Anyway, my friends and I usually play 2 on 2, or sometimes an all out brawl, just attacking whatever you can. I haven't played one of these with my Gravity Bind deck, but I'm sure that I would be a lot better than I used to be in these kinds of duels. Genkai
Per ante is fun... WE almost nbever play tag team or 2 on 2 We almpost ALWAYS play without LP, just for practice. we act as if we are, but we don't distract ourselves and keep recorsd, destoying my dueling groove(^_^), which is bad. Sometimes we play Duelist kingdom style, crank up the strategy with 2000LP and no tributes ^__________^
Hyper
Heh thats another one. The TV Show style. I've beeen meaning to try the battle City rules in duel myself.
Jeebs
When I first started dueling I played no tributes, but now my deck is built for tributes, so if I dueled with no tributes now, I don't think my deck would be ready. I've dueled duels where if you get a certain number of monsters in your graveyard, you lose, but the easy way to win that is to not play any monsters and play m/t to destroy your opponent's monsters, or put less monsters in you deck than are needed to be sent to your graveyard to lose. Ex: you play 10 monsters in the graveyard to lose. Put 9 or less monsters in your deck. Then you can't lose unless you run out of cards. Heh. If someone duels me with those rules again, I'll just get like an 80 card deck with only like 4 monsters. Then I won't do anything and wait for them to run out of cards. But I probably won't duel with those rules anymore. Oh yeah, sometimes we bid cards. In my first duel my opponent bid a Fairy's Hand Mirror and he desperatly needed a pencil (we were a school), so he picked one up that was beside me and told me to bid it, so I did. He won, but he still gave me the card. Oh, and in the excitement of it being my first duel, I didn't realize that the pencil wasn't mine. It was one that someone left on their desk from another class.
Genkai
I don't really understand how people build deck's around BC rules.. I mean, I've heard of that, but I dun understand it.. I dunno the BC rules thaqt well anyway, besides outting your cards at stake etc...*shrugs*
Hyper
Welll character decks by Battle City ruels can sometimes be effective if they're made properly.
egyptgirl
No one at my school has the right cards to play certain monsters. Like, I have two Wall Shadows, Hungry Burger, Pumking, all those crazy cards so we usually play those cards like any other. It works.:D
Crimson
Well basically i just try to lower the options of the opponent using cards like wall of illusion equiped with ring of magnetism, ground collapse, shadow of eyes, michizure, morphin jar #2, and shift. not really much to my tactics but it works for me :D
Hyper
Thats more strategy than style Crimson. Another style: Special Ability - This is liek the tV Shows, where all those sepcial effect stuff, thats not in the card game are played. Some stuff includes fusion monsters counting as as many tributes as to Fusion cards required. (Example: BEUD would be Three Sacrifices) also this woudl work with cards liek Gemini Elf. Circ
Me and my friend used to do this when we had few cards, which included a Rabid Horseman that happened to be both our best card.
Bandit Joeykuba
Most of the time we play with no tributes, with the exception of ritual monsters. Sometimes, no LP, just whoever runs out of cards first.
Guest Toon_world
i play by betting something
Hyper
Thats Per Ante. (Can be used with soethign that is not cards) Once you play it a few times, people won't duel by those standards, in fear of losing good cards.
ssj3gotenks2003
The style i play the most in is with official rules but sometimes i play in these styles: 3 way free for all 2 against 1 Tag Team the funnest is the Tag Team but the 3 way free for all seems to get my mind thinking more stragetically. (sp?)
Guest ryo
i play bc rules for practice just so i can use ra ^_^ and trust me my ra deck hasnt lost yet! but mostly i stick to regular rules and never play non tribs, i used to play per ante a lot, havent had the chance to play per ante with ra deck tho :(
Genkai
Does anyone else just grab a bunch of extra, really crappy cards from a pile of extra cards lying around? Then Duel? That's what I sometimes do.. I'll grab about 90 cards that were just laying around, and duel my friend, drawing 2 or 3 cards a hand.. They're almost all monsters, though.. Though sometimes I'll win.. Y'see, I don;t buy a lot of packs and starter decks, so I only have 1 deck, and these are all the cards laying around and stuff.. meh.. It's fun, too.
