BigCajones
Well if you haven't already heard Rockstar have announced they are going to release two new GTA games. GTA: Sin City hopefully going to be released this autumn and GTA 4 which is heading for release next year. They will probably be delayed though, because I don't know how they are going to design the game so quick. Sounds like they are just going to be released on the PS2 again (PS3 still won't be out by then), but I can't wait they are going to be amazing! :excited: My guess is that Sin City will carry on the sequel from the original GTA's islands and this one should be based around San Andreas. GTA 4 I'm hoping will be a totally new experience demonstrating new and improved technology, as well as a totally new city unseen in previous GTA games. :D I hope this thread has good and interesting discussions based around these two games right till they come out. What is your opinion about this? What information have you heard on it? Hope you enjoy the information ... Grant :demon: P.S I will reply more when I hear about it! :)
Tommy Vercetti
That sounds pretty cool i will have to get them when they come out do you know what console they will be coming out for. Is it for the ps2?? i want the graphics and buildings, characters, quotes and vechiles to all be improved and the weapons to be in one like whole thing rather than having three sets of weapons in vice city. The idea of a sequel sounds pretty cool to me. Well this is actually the first i have heard about this referring back to the question you asked but im sure reports will come outand soon they will be having reviews on it. Thanks fot the info cajones.
TheShinje
Having Graphics for the cars like Gran Turismo would be wicked. I hope that they do away with these silly weapons sets next time, and have them just all in one set. GTA: Sin City, I believe will be in San Andreas, since Rockstar North seem to have registered the domain gtasanandreas.com But with a name like sin city, who knows  maybe it will be in Vegas. Bing
Well, this is kind of my San Andreas predicted idea. S@bretooth, is that true? Heh, I might try loads of titles now! I think that GTA4 should be the same as GTA3, but based in the future, that would be very cool. Do you know where it would be based? I am going to try and hunt down some info, so I'll post with anything else I find! I agree with S@bretooth, down with the 'silly weapon suits'.
Tommy Vercetti
I think that a gta in the future would be cool and i cant wait for these too titles to come out and also one thing i forgot is the sunlight i know you can sort of change it if you go into display and select trials off but i was still getting it and it is annoying as you can't see where you are going, if you were in a mission and had to drive fast it could ruin your chance of getting away lol. Bing
The lighting effects were over the top, even for sunny Miami. I think on this game they need to have even more interaction, like swimming, and possibly a little climbing/crawling actions, but obviously in limited supply.
Blade
Yeah i just heard about it. I'm pretty sure that GTA4 will be called GTA:San Andreas. I don't think that the graphics can be improved that much because Vice city used up quite a lot of the PS2's power capabilities. What is this Sin City game??? Does any body know what it is about? BigCajones
Well the current era that Sin City maybe based in is the 70s era due to popular demand or something, whether it will actually happen I don't know. I myself would like it in the future too. It needs a totally new supply of weapons like crossbows, throwing knives, snooker ball in a sock lol, razor-edged boomerangs, gatling guns, remote mines, etc. Music- should be based around the era I suppose, but hopefully more hours of music and more rock radio stations with real tunes! Vehicles- they should put more standard vehicles, like micro scooters, BMX's, skateboards, rollerblades (can actually use them this time), also trains. I liked the voodoo car on VC which could bounce up and down side to side so put some more features like that in! Also if possible be able to swim lol. I know some of these will be hard, but I'm using my imagination. The cities- A bit bigger and more to do i.e tour around more buildings. Maybe use elevators to get up to different floors. On the vehicles you should be able to smash out the windows so on top of building you could have cloud-high sniping postitions. You should be able to parachute from top of building now that would be cool or you could paraglide kind of thing. You should be able to take people hostage (in strangling position) then the police will back off. MORE realism! Police shouldn't always know where you are and what you have done. They should arrest gangs members too. You should be able to bribe policemen and get a choice to do missions or not. Plus a choice of different missions so then the game has more lifespan and you would be willing to start the game again and do the other missions. More things to do with money, like unlocking things. Mini-games to get extra cash. Characters- Maybe there should be several heroes you get to swap around and play as. Normal people, well they need more quotes like GTA 3, bring back granmas and maybe add children and pets in (alot of people will complain but hey). More gangs, some friends, some rivals. .... I will think of some more later, well what do you think? P.S Oh yeah and one thing, GET RID OF THE TECHNICAL FLAWS! Only make cheats if they are not going to crash the game. :naughty: Edit: sorry I only just saw that reply. Sin City is San Andreas, because Rockstar can't have real places in the games, I don't think they are licensed too. Like Vice City was suppose to be Miami and GTA3 which was Liberty City, which was suppose to be Los Angeles (I think). GTA 4 is going to be different, not sure where it will be based as yet. I want more details, I'm getting excited! :D But San Andreas is a real place. :drunk: -Break
James
Vice City: Miami Liberty City: New York City Sin City: Las Vegas That would be my assumption, especially considering the word "sin" being used. What is the one city in the United States that is known as "sin city"? Las Vegas, of course. ~_^ Las Vegas presents a lot more in terms of gangs and stuff...much more than San Andreas, I'd think. All the casinos at night...drug dealing, prostitution and such. It seems like a much more crime-oriented setting. So it seems logical to make a game based there. As for GTA4...I'm hoping it'll be something entirely new. The "GTAIII engine", as it were, is majorly in need of an update. Other games with similarly sized environments (although not quite as large) are achieving better results in terms of visual detail. But more importantly, the control system needs some major rennovation (aiming and combat in particular) and various other issues need to be dealt with, game bugs being one of 'em. Still, I'll be interested to hear how it's all going. My guess is that Sin City is the equivalent to 1970's Las Vegas. Seems fitting, wouldn't you say?
BigCajones
Oh yeah, my bad I knew it was either New York City or Los Angeles. Las Vegas would be so cool, I've been there it's amazing! Maybe that would be GTA4 though, because I am pretty sure they are trying to finish the series from the original game with those three islands of 'Liberty City', 'Vice City' and 'Sin City', but I don't remember it being called Sin City so I am really confused here. There should be another information update next month from Rockstar, so maybe we will find out then. How are they going to finish this game for like Autumn though hmm? Graphics aren't brilliant really are they, doubt they will improve on this, but they should! - I've also seen pictures for Driver 3 and that's looking pretty hot in terms of realism. You can roam round more freely on this new one too maybe Rockstar have some competition this time! :) Competition always fun ... :demon: Edit: It sounds like it may actually be based in Las Vegas, but that's only if it's going to be called GTA: Sin City, but I heard it's most probably going to be based around San Francisco or LA and they decided to change the game name to GTA: San Andreas if that would be the case. Rumours are annoying! I want real information! Oh and also Rockstar have a stunning 25 new games in development (some sound VERY good). :)

BigCajones
Have you tried www.rockstarnorth.com? That could be the one your looking for I'm not sure if it will let us in on any information as yet, but you may as well have a peek! ;) *looks on it just incase*
Break
*sighs* www.rockstarnorth.com (without the question mark). Anyway, Sin City is the name for Las Vegas, so that is where GTA: Sin City will be based. As for GTA4, I just hope it hasn't got exactly the same graphics and character models as GTAIII/Vice City. I really hate those, and they better get rid of the glitches or Rockstar are going to lose supporters fast. I am starting to lose faith in these games, they're starting to end up like Sum 41. It all sounds the same. Rockstar and DMA really need to get off their butts and do something about the state of the GTA series. They can surely add some little things, I've drawn a few ideas together that they could add for more spice:

Have a "Character Select" at the start, where you could pick character with certain skills or who belongs to a specific gang.
A "Build-A-Gang" system, where you could recruit people with different skills to aid you in missions.
After each mission you could pick up points to spend on different areas of your characters (like driving, shooting, etc).
A much better property system, so that the property actually had some value in the game (such as recruiting more gang members, or the property may just give you some advantage over other gangs in some way).
With these in mind, let's hope that Rockstar and DMA work together to produce a game that will surpass all other GTA games with superb graphics and an excellent playablity level ^_^
Bing
I like the idea of stat points, that could prove a very good assett in such a game. The 'build a gang' feature sounds great. I also think you should be able to flip your car back over, instead of it just getting set on fire. What I think also needs to be done, is, the graphics need to be smoothed out, no more sketchy edges, or poxy glitches!
BigCajones
Sorry about the question mark lol. It's still saying that the game has a good chance of being called GTA: San Andreas, I always forget this and refer the game to being GTA: Sin City all the time. GTA4 will be totally different hopefully yes and won't follow the original GTA like the others (Liberty City, Vice City, San Andreas?), which is good! Character select could be interesting and would be a bit like another Rockstar State Of Emergency which they are making a sequel too. If you chose to be in a gang though there might not be many missions to do. Building a gang or a character would be alot better and more advanced! Stats and money having value are also great ideas and I think people know what I think about it's glitches! They put me off playing Vice City and GTA 3 lets just say that! :flaming: But money does have value o_O; -Break
