Yeah but in the other post you said that "kun" could of been added for respect for a young boy but that wasn't the case for Gokou's name. There was no pun intended to it only that it would've been funny to have an immortal monkey's name put as a mere child. Oh yeah and as said earlier Buddha named the monkey king with the word "kun" in it so it was technically Buddha who gave him that name in the legend.

Actually, Gohan means "cooked rice" in general, though sometimes it's used to mean food, since rice is so common as a food. It has nothing to do with preparation. Also, I never knew that about Goten. Of course, all I've got as an online dictionary that lists a meaning as "palace or court." Perhaps Toriyama wanted to keep the "go" beginning of the Son family names.

I like to think of Pan as having a multi-pun name. Pan does mean bread, which goes along with her dad's food name. However, Pan was a Greek demi-god from whom the stereotypical view of the devil is taken. Who's Pan's mother? Videl? And what's Videl? An anagram of "devil". So her name fits punnily in with both her mother's and her father's.


[B]-Nappa - A kind of food[/B]

A type of cabbage, specifically. It's also called Chinese cabbage. It's a bit longer than the spherical regular green cabbage. And Radditz is *not* how the Japanese would pronounce radish. That would be radisshu.

And Bardock is for Burdock, some kind of a vegetable. Toma is for tomato, Celipa is celery, Paragus is asparagus, Totepo is potato

[B] -Piccolo - A musical instrument. Could also be "pickle", a green vegitable[B]

Since his henchmen were also named after musical instruments (during DB) the first guess seems most correct.

-Bulma - women's underwear. I don't know about the anime, but early on in the manga, that...area...of Bulma comes up often [/B]
